Abstract
The invention relates to an electric power generation system using a domestic water turbine, known as "KARFOUDA". The system of the invention essentially comprises: a cylindrical or ring-shaped basin having a flat or conical base; multiple vertical-axis turbines, two-thirds being secured to the inner wall of the basin; and, optionally, a large vertical-axis turbine (main turbine) located in the middle of the basin and driven by an electric gear motor. As water is poured gradually into the basin, the large turbine, driven by the motor, creates a hydrodynamic lift that rotates the small turbines, each of which is coupled to an alternator so as to generate electric power. As the water continues to pour into the basin, the hydrodynamic lift that was created in turn assists the gear motor in causing a large amount of water to whirl. In this way, it is possible to generate electric power to operate the gear motor and for the remaining electric power to be used.
