Abstract

The present invention relates to a system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider comprising a communication and processing kit (1 ) of the user, which is connected to the air conditioner, and a server (2) of the service provider, which is connected wirelessly to the a communication and processing kit (1). According to the present invention, the communication and processing kit (1) receives the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner; processes the monitored data; and transmits the processed data to the server (2) to let the server (2) analyze and compare the received data with the standard values of the service provider. The analyzed data is then transmitted back to the user via a communication device (3) that was registered with the service provider in order to inform the operating status of the air conditioner. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider is used with the split type air conditioner.

Description

SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND ALERTING USER OF AIR CONDITIONER MALFUNCTION BY SERVICE PROVIDER
TECHNICAL FIELD

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Air conditioners today are improved regularly in terms of efficiency which makes their operation control system become more complex. Said improvement can cause an air conditioner to malfunction, work differently from the imposed standard or even stop working. User will not acknowledge the problems immediately until the air conditioner starts to malfunction or stops working. This causes a great damage to the air conditioner. , The user also has to pay more repair cost than necessary.
However, although most air conditioners are maintained by cleaning off the dust at least 1-2 times a year, said maintenance may not include a thorough efficiency inspection of the air conditioner to check whether its operation conforms to the service provider's standard of when the air conditioner was first produced. Moreover, the inspection of each device performed by the technician is only an external inspection, e.g., the reading of refrigerant pressure and electric current. Therefore, the technician's analysis or decision regarding the operation abnormality or possibility thereof may be incorrect. In case the air conditioner malfunctions or is damaged, the user needs to contact a technician or a service center which may take a long time and cause them inconvenience.
Based on the above, it is necessary to have the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider to enable the service provider to monitor the efficiency of air conditioner of the user at all times and to immediately inform the user of the abnormality of air conditioner that may occur before further damage is done.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider comprising a communication and processing kit of the user, which is connected to the air conditioner; and a server of the service provider, which is connected wirelessly to the communication and processing kit. According to the present invention, the communication and processing kit receives the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner; processes the monitored data; and transmits the processed data to the server to let the server analyze and compare the received data with the standard values of the service provider. The analyzed data is then transmitted back to the user via a communication device that was registered with the service provider in order to inform the operating status of the air conditioner. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider is used with the split type air conditioner.
The object of the present invention is to provide a system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider that offers technical advantages such as allowing the service provider to monitor and observe the operation of the air conditioner at all times and Morrning the user of the abnormality of air conditioner before a severe damage is done. This allows the service provider to promptly repair the problematic part of the air conditioner. The user will also pay less for the repair.

Hereafter, the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to the present invention will be described in further detail with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the operation of the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to the present invention.
According to the present invention, the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider comprises a communication and processing kit 1 of the user, which is connected to the air conditioner; and a server 2 of the service provider, which is connected wirelessly to the communication and processing kit 1. According to the present invention, the communication and processing kit 1 receives the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner; processes the monitored data; and transmits the processed data to the server 2 to let the server 2 analyze and compare the received data with the standard values of the service provider. The analyzed data is then transmitted back to the user via a communication device 3 that was registered with the service provider in order to inform the operating status of the air conditioner.
According to the present invention, the communication and processing kit 1 comprises a data receiver 1.1, which is connected to the air conditioner; a processor 1.2, which is connected to the data receiver 1.1 for processing the monitored parameter data; and a data transmitter 1.3, which is connected to the processor 1.2 for transmitting the monitored parameter data and the processed data to the server 2.
According to the present invention, the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner can be the temperature at the compressor inlet, the ambient temperature, the cooling coil temperature, the refrigerant pressure, the voltage, the electric current or the compressor speed.
According to the present invention, the processor 1.2 processes the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner to find the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER).
According to the present invention, the data receiver 1.1, processor 1.2 and data transmitter 1.3 are connected to each other by a connecting wire or via a wireless connection.
According to the present invention, the server 2 comprises a data receiver 2.1 for receiving the monitored parameter data and the processed data from the data transmitter 1.3 of the communication and processing kit 1; a central processor 2.2, which is connected to the data receiver 2.1 for receiving data and comparing the processed data with the standard values stored in the data base 2.2.1 of the service provider to obtain analyzed data; and a data transmitter 2.3, which is connected to the central processor 2.2 for transmitting the analyzed data back to the communication device 3 of the user.
The foregoing embodiment provides advantages which are allowing the service provider to monitor or predict both short- and long-term efficiency of air conditioner and informing the user of the abnormality of air conditioner immediately before further damage is done. According to the present invention, the communication device 3 of the user can be smartphone, tablet, portable computer, wired data receiver, wireless data receiver, data receiver with display monitor or data receiver without display monitor.
The foregoing embodiment is advantageous in that the user will receive the information regarding operating status, suggestion and/or the efficiency of the air conditioner from the service provider more quickly and conveniently.
According to the present invention, the communication and processing kit 1 can be connected to an indoor unit 4 and/or an outdoor unit 5.
According to the present invention, the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider is used with the split type air conditioner.
The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider comprises components with unique features that offer the mentioned advantages. However, the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to the present invention is not limited to the said components with unique features. Modifications or changes may be made to any components of the system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to the present invention to create different embodiments that allow similar effects. Such modifications and changes are considered to be within the spirit and the scope of the present invention.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. A system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider comprising:
- a communication and processing kit (1) of the user, which is connected to the air conditioner; and
- a server (2) of the service provider, which is connected wirelessly to the communication and processing kit (1)
characterized in that
the communication and processing kit (1) receives the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner; processes the monitored data; and transmits the processed data to the server (2) to let the server (2) analyze and compare the received data with the standard values of the service provider. The analyzed data is then transmitted back to the user via a communication device (3) that was registered with the service provider in order to inform the operating status of the air conditioner.
2. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to claim 1, wherein the communication and processing kit (1) comprises:
- a data receiver (1.1), which is connected to the air conditioner
- a processor (1.2), which is connected to the data receiver (1.1) for processing the monitored parameter data; and
- a data transmitter (1.3), which is connected to the processor (1.2) for transmitting the monitored parameter data and the processed data to the server (2).
3. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner can be the temperature at the compressor inlet, the ambient temperature, the cooling coil temperature, the refrigerant pressure, the voltage, the electric current or the compressor speed.
4. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to claim 2, wherein the processor (1.2) processes the monitored parameter data from the air conditioner to find the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER).
5. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to claim 2, wherein the data receiver (1.1), processor (1.2) and data transmitter (1.3) are connected to each other by a connecting wire or via a wireless connection.
6. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to claim 1, wherein the server (2) comprises:
- a data receiver (2.1) for receiving the monitored parameter data and the processed data from the data transmitter (1.3) of the communication and processing kit (1).
- a central processor (2.2), which is connected to the data receiver (2.1) for receiving data and compare the processed data with the standard values stored in the data base (2.2.1) of the service provider to obtain analyzed data; and
- a data transmitter (2.3), which is connected to the central processor (2.2) for transmitting the analyzed data back to the communication device (3) of the user.
7. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to claim 1 or 6, wherein the communication device (3) of the user can be smartphone, tablet, portable computer, wired data receiver, wireless data receiver, data receiver with display monitor or data receiver without display monitor.
8. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the communication and processing kit (1) can be connected to an indoor unit (4) and/or an outdoor unit (5).
9. The system for monitoring and alerting user of air conditioner malfunction by service provider according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the said system for monitoring and alerting user is used with the split type air conditioner.
