These embodiments are particularly advantageous when the side wire racks and the attachment members comprise noble metal plating such as chrome plating. Hence, the chrome plating can be seen by the user through the first/second coatings. Of course, other type of noble metal plating which are known to those skilled in the art may be used.
  • the dielectric material comprises silica-based material.
  • the silica-based material may be obtained through the sol-gel technique.
  • the silica-based material may be obtained from silicone resin.
  • the first/second coatings may comprise different dielectric materials having different dielectric strengths.
  • the dielectric material may comprise enamels, polymers, glasses, micas, or varnishes or the like. These embodiments are particularly advantageous as the dielectric material can be chosen in accordance with the operating conditions and the size and shape of the components inside the cavity.

  • Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the existing cooking appliances, in particular those having the side wire racks (3) inside their cavity (2) can be easily retrofitted with the first/second coatings (6a,6b) without the need for any mechanical modifications to the components or to the molds used for the die-casting of the components. Thereby, the production costs can be reduced both in terms of material and labor.
  • Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the cooking appliance (1) can be designed more compactly, and thus the space inside the cavity (2) can be used more efficiently. With the present invention, the user satisfaction can be further increased. Other advantageous effects of the present invention can be taken from the above-described embodiments.
