Abstract
본 발명은 배터리 히터, 그를 포함하는 배터리 시스템 및 그의 제조 방법에 관한 것으로, 저전압에서 대면적으로 높은 발열량을 순간적으로 필요로 하는 리튬 배터리의 히팅에 사용하기 위한 것이다. 본 발명은 절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판, 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성된 전극 배선 패턴, 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성되며 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메우는 절연층, 및 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이를 포함하는 배터리 히터를 제공한다.
Description
본 발명은 배터리 히팅 기술에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 저전압에서 대면적으로 높은 발열량을 순간적으로 필요로 하는 리튬 배터리의 히팅에 사용되는 배터리 히터, 그를 포함하는 배터리 시스템 및 그의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다.
최근에 화석연료의 고갈 염려 등으로 인해 전기로 구동되는 다양한 전기 구동 장치, 예컨대 전기자동차(Electric Vehicle), 하이브리드 전기자동차(Hybrid Electric Vehicle; HEV), 플러그-인 하이브리드 전기자동차(Plug-in HEV; PHEV) 등이 개발되고 있다. 전기자동차는 엔진 없이 배터리를 통한 전기에너지를 주 동력원으로 하는 차량으로서, 배출가스가 전혀 발생하지 않는다. 하이브리드 전기자동차는 엔진과 전기모터를 함께 사용하며, 엔진의 부하를 감소시켜 에너지 효율을 높일 수 있는 자동차이다. 그리고 플러그-인 하이브리드 전기자동차는 엔진과 전기모터를 함께 사용한다는 점에서 하이브리드 전기자동차에 해당되며, 배터리는 플러그-인을 통해 외부 전원으로 충전한다는 점에서 하이브리드 전기자동차와 차이가 있다.
이와 같은 전기 구동 장치는 필수적으로 전기를 공급하기 위한 배터리가 필요하다. 배터리로는 충전 및 방전이 가능한 리튬 배터리가 사용되고 있다.
이러한 전기 구동 장치는 다양한 환경 조건, 예컨대 고온이나 저온에서 구동이 가능해야 한다.
그런데 전기 구동 장치에 사용되는 리튬 배터리는 온도가 감소함에 따라 출력 전압과 전류가 급격이 감소하는 특성을 가지고 있다. 이로 인해 전기 구동 장치에 사용되는 리튬 배터리는 영하 또는 낮은 온도의 외부 환경에 장시간 노출될 경우, 배터리의 효율 및 출력이 급격히 떨어진다. 예컨대 리튬 배터리는 최적의 방전 온도는 30~35℃이기 때문에, 이 보다 낮은 작동 온도, 특히 영하의 온도에서는 방전 전류 및 사용한 가능한 전체 에너지가 급격히 떨어지는 특성을 가지고 있다. 그리고 -10℃ 이하의 온도에서의 리튬 배터리의 충전은 잠재적인 위험성이 있다.
이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위해서, 리튬 배터리에 배터리 히터를 장착하여 저온으로 떨어진 리튬 배터리를 히팅하는 방법이 있다. 기존의 배터리 히터는 니켈 합금 포일(foil)을 에칭 프로세스에 의한 가공하는 방식으로 제조한 선상 발열체를 구비한다.
그런데 선상 발열체를 이용한 배터리 히터는 배터리 히팅 시, 선상 발열체 사이에 빈공간이 많아 발열이 되지 않는 영역이 존재하고, 균일한 발열을 유도하기 어렵기 때문에, 리튬 배터리의 히팅 속도가 느린 문제점을 안고 있다.
따라서 본 발명의 목적은 저전압에서 짧은 시간에 대면적 발열이 가능한 배터리 히터, 그를 포함하는 배터리 시스템 및 그의 제조 방법을 제공하는 데 있다.
상기 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 발명은 절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판; 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성된 전극 배선 패턴; 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성되며 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메우는 절연층; 및 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 배터리 히터를 제공한다.
상기 베이스 기판의 소재는 폴리이미드(polyimide), 폴리에테르술폰(polyethersulphone; PES), 폴리아크릴레이트(polyacrylate: PAR), 폴리에테르이미드(polyetherimide; PEI), 폴리에틸렌 나프탈레이트(polyethyelenen napthalate; PEN), 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이드(polyethyeleneterepthalate; PET), 폴리페닐렌 설파이드(polyphenylene sulfide: PPS), 폴리아릴레이트(polyallylate), 폴리카보네이트(PC), 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트(cellulose triacetate; CTA) 또는 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 프로피오네이트(cellulose acetate propinonate; CAP)를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 면상 발열체 어레이는, 상기 베이스 기판의 상부면의 일측에 형성되며, 일렬로 배열된 복수의 제1 면상 발열체를 구비하는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이; 및 상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이에서 이격된 상기 베이스 기판의 하부면의 일측에 형성되며, 일렬로 배열된 복수의 제2 면상 발열체를 구비하는 제2 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이를 상기 베이스 기판의 상부면으로 프로젝션 했을 때, 상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이와 상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이는 서로 이격되어 있다.
상기 발열체 조성물은 페놀계 수지, 아세탈계 수지, 이소시아네이트계 수지 및 에폭시계 수지 중 적어도 2종을 포함하는 합성 바인더와, 전도성 입자를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 발열체 조성물은, 발열체 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여 혼합 바인더 5 내지 30 중량부와, 전도성 입자 0.7 내지 60 중량부를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 합성 바인더는 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트, 폴리비닐 아세탈 및 페놀계 수지를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 전도성 입자는 탄소나노튜브 입자, 그라파이트 입자, 은 분말, 은 코팅된 니켈 분말 및 은 코팅된 구리 분말 중 적어도 2종을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 혼합 바인더는 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트 100 중량부에 대하여 폴리비닐 아세탈 수지 10 내지 150 중량부, 및 페놀계 수지 100 내지 500 중량부를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 전극 배선 패턴은 면상 발열체의 전기전도도의 400배 이상일 수 있다.

본 발명은 또한, 양면에 전극 배선 패턴 홈이 형성된 절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판; 상기 베이스 기판의 전극 배선 패턴 홈에 충전되어 형성된 전극 배선 패턴; 및 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 배터리 히터를 제공한다.
본 발명은 또한, 베이스 기판의 양면에 전극 배선 패턴을 형성하는 단계; 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메우는 절연층을 형성하는 단계; 및 상기 절연층과 상기 전극 배선 패턴 위에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되는 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이를 형성하는 단계;를 포함하는 배터리 히터의 제조 방법을 제공한다.
상기 전극 배선 패턴을 형성하는 단계는, 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 알루미늄 소재의 금속층을 형성하는 단계; 및 상기 금속층을 사진식각공정으로 패터닝하여 전극 배선 패턴을 형성하는 단계;를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 절연층을 형성하는 단계는, 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이에 절연성 수지를 도포하여 절연층을 형성하는 단계; 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 절연성 필름을 합지하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메운 후, 상기 전극 배선 패턴 상부의 절연성 필름 부분을 제거하여 절연층을 형성하는 단계; 또는 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이의 영역에 대응되게 개방부가 형성된 절연성 필름을 합지하여 절연층을 형성하는 단계;를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터의 제조 방법은, 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 상기 면상 발열체 어레이를 덮는 보호층을 형성하는 단계;를 더 포함할 수 있다.
그리고 본 발명은 상기 리튬 배터리; 및 상기 리튬 배터리에 설치되어 상기 리튬 배터리를 히팅하는 배터리 히터;를 포함하는 배터리 시스템을 제공한다.
본 발명에 따른 배터리 시스템은, 상기 리튬 배터리의 온도를 센싱하는 온도 센서; 상기 배터리 히터에 전원을 공급하는 보조 전원부; 및 상기 온도 센서로 센싱한 온도가 제1 임계 온도 이하인 경우, 상기 보조 전원부를 통하여 상기 배터리 히터에 전원을 공급하여 상기 배터리 히터에서 발열되는 열로 상기 리튬 배터리를 히팅하는 배터리 관리부;를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리 히터로 상기 리튬 배터리를 히팅하여 상기 온도 센서로 센싱한 상기 리튬 배터리의 온도가 제2 임계 온도 이상인 경우, 상기 보조 전원부를 통하여 상기 배터리 히터로 공급되는 전원을 차단할 수 있다.
그리고 상기 보조 전원부는 슈퍼 커패시터(super capacitor)를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터는 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하기 때문에, 저전압에서 짧은 시간에 대면적 발열이 가능하다. 따라서 전기 구동 장치의 리튬 배터리가 저온 환경에 있더라도, 본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터를 이용하여 리튬 배터리를 3~4V의 저전압에서도 대면적으로 높은 발열량을 순간적으로 발생시켜 리튬 배터리를 히팅시킬 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터는 상부면과 하부면에 면상 발열체 어레이가 형성되되, 상하로 서로 중복되지 않으면서 배터리 히터의 전면에 균일하게 면상 발열체가 형성된 구조를 갖기 때문에, 저전압에서 짧은 시간에 대면적 발열이 가능하다. 즉 베이스 기판의 상부면과 하부면에 각각 일렬의 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이를 형성함으로써, 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이로 각각 전원을 인가하는 전극 배선 패턴의 길이를 최소화할 수 있다. 이로 인해 전극 배선 패턴의 길이로 인한 전압 강하가 발생되는 것을 억제함으로써, 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이에 전원이 안정적으로 공급할 수 있다. 따라서 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이의 안정적인 발열 균일도를 유지할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터는 베이스 기판의 양면에 면상 발열체 어레이를 형성하되, 베이스 기판의 양면에 균일하게 면상 발열체를 형성함으로써, 저전압에서 짧은 시간에 대면적 발열이 가능하다. 이때 베이스 기판의 양면에 전극 배선 패턴을 형성할 때, 상하로 서로 대응되는 위치에 배열된 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이로 함께 전원을 인가할 수 있도록 전극 배선 패턴을 형성함으로써, 전극 배선 패턴의 길이를 최소화할 수 있다. 이로 인해 전극 배선 패턴의 길이로 인한 전압 강하가 발생되는 것을 억제함으로써, 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이에 전원이 안정적으로 공급할 수 있다. 따라서 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이의 안정적인 발열 균일도를 유지할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터의 면상 발열체를 형성하는 발열체 조성물은 나노크기의 전도성 입자와, 페놀계 수지, 아세탈계 수지, 이소시아네이트계 수지 또는 에폭시계 수지를 포함하는 혼합 바인더를 포함하기 때문에, 200℃ 이상의 온도에서도 내열성을 유지할 수 있어 고온으로 신속하게 히팅이 가능하다.
본 발명에 따른 발열체 조성물은 발열체로 탄소 입자와 금속 분말을 포함하기 때문에, 발열체로 금속 분말만을 포함하는 발열체 조성물에 비해서 에너지 효율 및 발열 속도를 높일 수 있다.
전술된 바와 같이, 발열체 조성물은 200℃ 이상의 온도에서도 내열성을 유지할 수 있기 때문에, 온도에 따른 저항 변화가 작아 발열 거동 및 안정성이 높은 면상 발열체를 구비하는 배터리 히터를 제공할 수 있다.
탄소나노튜브 입자와 그라파이트 입자를 포함하는 발열체 조성물로 형성한 면상 발열체는 블랙 바디(block body)이기 때문에, 흑체 복사로 인해 추가적인 에너지 효율을 향상을 얻을 수 있다.
발열체 조성물은 비저항이 낮고 두께 조절이 용이하여 저전압 및 저전력으로 고온 발열이 가능한 배터리 히터를 제공할 수 있다.
발열체 조성물은 스크린 인쇄, 롤투롤 그라비아 인쇄, 롤투롤 콤마 코팅, 플렉소 인쇄, 옵셋 인쇄가 가능하기 때문에, 본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터의 대량 생산에 유리할 뿐만 아니라 제품 길이 및 면적에 대한 제약을 해소할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터는 전기자동차, 하이브리드 전기자동차, 플러그-인 전기자동차 이외에, 라이트박스(lightbox), 무정전공급장치의 배터리 백업(UPS battery backup), 통신기지국(telecommunication station), 재생에너지(renewal energy), 교통신호등제어기(traffic light control), 무인항공기, 드론, 잠수함, 수송기 등과 같은 저온 환경에 노출이 빈번한 다양한 전기 구동 장치에 사용될 수 있다.

도 1은 본 발명에 따른 배터리 히터를 구비하는 배터리 시스템을 보여주는 블록도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명에 따른 배터리 시스템(100)은 주 전원부로부터 리튬 배터리(11)를 사용하는 시스템으로, 리튬 배터리(11)와 배터리 히터(13)를 포함하며, 온도 센서(15), 스위치(16), 보조 전원부(17), 전원 변환부(18) 및 제어부(19)를 더 포함할 수 있다.
리튬 배터리(11)는 부하에 전기에너지를 공급하는 복수의 리튬 이차전지 셀을 구비한다. 리튬 이차전지 셀은 외부 충격, 열 또는 진동 등으로 보호하기 위해서 일정한 개수, 예컨대 10개 내외로 묶어 프레임에 넣은 배터리 모듈로 제작된다. 리튬 배터리(11)는 이러한 배터리 모듈을 복수개로 묶어 배터리 팩 형태로 제작된다.
온도 센서(15)는 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도를 센싱하여 제어부(19)로 전달한다.
보조 전원부(17)는 제어부(19)의 제어에 따라 배터리 히터(13)로 전원을 공급한다. 보조 전원부(17)는 제어부(19)의 제어에 따른 스위치(16)의 온/오프를 통하여 리튬 배터리(11)를 통하여 전원을 충전할 수 있다. 충전 시 리튬 배터리(11)의 전원은 전원 변환부를 통하여 보조 전원부(17)에 충전 가능한 전원으로 변환된 후 보조 전원부(17)로 충전된다.
이러한 보조 전원부(17)로는 슈퍼 커패시터(super capacitor)가 사용될 수 있다. 슈퍼 커패시터로는 전기 이중층 커패시터(Electric Double Layer Capacitor; EDLC) 또는 의사 커패시터(pesudocapacitor)가 사용될 수 있다.
이때 보조 전원부(17)로 슈퍼 커패시터를 사용하는 이유는 다음과 같다. 슈퍼 커패시터는 많은 에너지를 모아두었다가 수초 또는 수십 초 동안에 높은 출력의 에너지를 발산하는 동력원으로, 기존의 콘덴서나 이차 전지가 수용하지 못하는 성능 특성 영역을 만족시킬 수 있는 유용한 부품이기 때문이다. 슈퍼 커패시터는 장시간 방전을 필요로 하는 메모리 백업용에서 방전시간이 매우 짧은 펄스 파워를 이용하는 군용 또는 전기자동차 등 용도가 다양하다. 슈퍼 커패시터는 수명이 길어서 장기간 사용이 가능하고, 재충전 배터리처럼 독성화학물질을 포함하고 있지 않아 상대적으로 안전하며, 성능의 저하가 거의 없기 때문이다.
전기 이중층 커패시터는 서로 다른 상의 계면에 형성된 전기 이중층에서 발생하는 정전하 현상을 이용한 커패시터로서, 에너지 저장 메커니즘이 산화 및 환원과정에 의존하는 배터리에 비하여 충방전 속도가 빠르고 충방전 효율이 높으며 사이클 특성이 월등하여 백업 전원에 광범위하게 사용되며, 그 외 전기자동차의 보조전원으로 사용될 수 있다.
유사 커패시터는 전극과 전기화학 산화물 반응물의 산화-환원 반응을 이용하여 화학 반응을 전기적 에너지로 전환하여 저장하는 커패시터이다. 유사 커패시터는 전기 이중층 커패시터가 전기화학 이중층형 전극 표면에 형성된 이중층에만 전하를 저장하는 데 비하여 전극 재료의 표면 근처까지 전하를 저장 할 수 있어 저장 용량이 전기 이중층 커패시터에 비하여 약 5배 정도 크다. 금속산화물 전극재료로는 RuOx, IrOx, MnOx 등이 사용되고 있다.
전원 변환부(18)는 제어부(19)의 제어에 따라 각 부분에 필요한 전원으로 변환하여 공급한다. 전원 변화부(18)는 DC-DC 컨버터와 배터리 충전 모듈을 포함할 수 있다. 전원 변환부(18)는 제어부(19)의 충전 제어 신호에 따라 리튬 배터리(11)의 전원을 변환하여 보조 전원부(17)에 제공할 수 있다.
배터리 히터(13)는 리튬 배터리(11)에 설치되며, 제어부(19)의 제어에 따라 리튬 배터리(11)를 히팅한다. 배터리 히터(13)는 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 형성한 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하며, 저전압에서 짧은 시간에 대면적 발열이 가능하다. 이로 인해 리튬 배터리(11)가 저온 환경에 있더라도, 배터리 히터(13)는 리튬 배터리(11)를 3~4V의 저전압에서도 대면적으로 높은 발열량을 순간적으로 발생시켜 리튬 배터리(13)를 히팅시킬 수 있다.
이러한 배터리 히터(13)는 리튬 배터리(11)의 바닥면 또는 측면에 내장되는 형태로 설치될 수 있다. 리튬 배터리(11)를 보다 균일하게 히팅하기 위해서, 배터리 히터(13)는 배터리 모듈들 사이에 설치될 수도 있다.
그리고 제어부(19)는 리튬 배터리(11)를 제어하는 마이크로프로세서로서, 차량의 상태 정보(21,23)와 온도 센서(15)로부터 수신한 리튬 배터리(13)의 온도 정보를 이용하여 리튬 배터리(11)의 히팅과 보조 전원부(17)의 충전을 제어한다. 예컨대 제어부(19)는 배터리 관리 시스템(battery management system; BMS)으로, 리튬 이차전지 셀의 상태를 모니터링하고, 모니터링 결과를 토대로 냉난방을 통하여 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도 관리를 수행하고, 전기 구동 장치의 제어부와 연동하여 부하로의 전기에너지의 공급을 제어할 수 있다.
이러한 제어부(19)는 온도 센서(15)로 센싱한 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도를 기반으로 배터리 히터(13)의 구동을 제어한다. 즉 온도 센서(15)는 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도를 센싱한 온도 정보(15)를 제어부(19)로 전달한다. 온도 센서(15)로 센싱한 온도가 제1 임계 온도 이하인 경우, 제어부(19)는 히팅 제어 신호(26)로 스위치(16)를 온(ON)시켜 보조 전원부(17)를 통하여 배터리 히터(13)에 전원을 공급하고, 배터리 히터(13)에서 발열되는 열로 리튬 배터리(11)를 히팅한다. 제어부(19)는 배터리 히터(13)로 리튬 배터리(11)를 히팅한 후, 온도 센서(15)로 센싱한 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도가 제2 임계 온도 이상인 경우, 히팅 제어 신호(26)로 스위치(16)를 오프(OFF)시켜 보조 전원부(17)를 통하여 배터리 히터(13)로 공급되는 전원을 차단하여 리튬 배터리(11)의 히팅을 중단시킨다. 이때 제1 임계 온도는 리튬 배터리(11)의 콜드(cold) 상태로 인식할 수 있는 온도로 설정될 수 있다. 제2 임계 온도는 리튬 배터리(11)의 정상적인 충방전이 가능한 범위의 온도로 설정될 수 있다.
물론 리튬 배터리의 히팅은 제어부(19)가 차량의 상태 정보(21)를 확인한 후 수행한다. 이때 차량의 상태 정보(21)로 이그니션 온(ignition ON), 즉 차량의 시동을 거는 상황이다.
제어부(19)는 보조 전원부(17)의 잔량을 체크(27)하여 보조 전원부(17)의 충전이 필요한 지의 여부를 확인한다. 충전이 필요한 경우, 제어부(19)는 전원 변환부(18)로 충전 제어 신호(28)를 인가하여 리튬 배터리(11)의 전원으로 보조 전원부(17)를 충전한다. 물론 제어부(19)는 차량의 상태 정보(23)를 통하여 리튬 배터리(11)로 보조 전원부(17)를 충전할 수 있는 상태인지를 확인한 후 수행한다. 보조 전원부(17)의 충전이 가능한 차량 상태(23)는 발전기가 정상적으로 구동되는 상태일 수 있다.
이와 같이 제어부(19)를 통하여 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도를 관리함으로써, 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도에 따라 작동 효율성을 향상시키고, 수명을 연장할 수 있다.
이와 같은 본 발명에 따른 배터리 시스템(100)의 배터리 관리 방법에 대해서 도 1 및 도 2를 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다. 여기서 도 2는 도 1의 배터리 시스템의 배터리 관리 방법에 따른 흐름도이다. 배터리 시스템(100)이 전기자동차와 같은 차량에 적용된 경우의 배터리 관리 방법을 개시하였다. 배터리 관리는 차량 상태 및 배터리 상태 정보를 기반으로 한 리튬 배터리(11)의 히팅 및 보조 전원부(17)의 충전을 포함한다.
먼저 S11단계에 따른 대기 상태에서, 제어부(19)는 차량의 상태 정보(21)를 통하여 이그니션 온 여부를 S13단계에서 확인한다.
확인 결과 이그니션 온 신호가 입력되지 않은 경우, 제어부(19)는 S11단계에 따른 대기 상태를 유지한다.
확인 결과 이그니션 온 신호가 입력된 경우, S15단계에서 제어부(19)는 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도가 제1 임계 온도 이하인지의 여부를 확인한다. 즉 제어부(19)는 리튬 배터리(11)가 정상적으로 동작이 가능한 온도 인지의 여부를 확인한다.
확인 결과 제1 임계 온도 이하인 경우, S17단계에서 제어부(19)는 배터리 히터(13)를 가동시켜 리튬 배터리(11)를 히팅한다.
다음으로 S19단계에서 제어부(19)는 히팅된 리튬 배터리(11)의 온도가 제2 임계 온도 이상인지의 여부를 확인한다.
확인 결과 제2 임계 온도 미만인 경우, 제어부(19)는 S17단계를 수행한다.
확인 결과 제2 임계 온도 이상인 경우, S21단계에서 제어부(19)는 배터리 히터(19)의 가동을 중지시킨다. 히팅에 의해 리튬 배터리(11)는 안정적인 전원 공급이 가능한 상태가 되었기 때문에, 제어부(19)는 이그니션 온 신호에 따라 리튬 배터리(11)의 전원을 이용하여 시동을 걸게 된다. 예컨대 차량이 전기자동차인 경우, 제어부(19)는 전기자동차에 구비된 전기모터를 구동시킨다.
한편 S15단계의 확인 결과 제1 임계 온도를 초과하는 경우, S23단계에서 제어부(19)는 차량의 상태 정보(23)를 통하여 발전기의 구동 여부를 확인한다. 즉 제어부(19)는 리튬 배터리(11)를 통하여 보조 전원부(17)의 충전이 가능한 상태인지의 여부를 발전기의 구동 여부로 확인한다.
S23단계의 확인 결과 발전기가 구동 중인 경우, S25단계에서 제어부(19)는 전원 변환부(18)를 통한 보조 배터리(17)의 충전을 시작(ON)한다.
다음으로 S27단계에서 제어부(19)는 보조 배터리(17)의 완충 여부를 확인한다.
확인 결과 완충되지 않은 경우, 제어부(19)는 S25단계를 수행한다.
확인 결과 완충된 경우, S29단계에서 제어부(19)는 보조 배터리(17)의 충전을 종료(OFF)한다.
S21단계 또는 S29단계 이후에, S31단계에서 제어부(19)는 이그니션 오프 신가가 입력되는 지의 여부를 확인한다.
그리고 이그니션 오프 신호가 입력되는 경우, 제어부(19)는 배터리 시스템(100)의 구동을 종료한다. 이때 제어부(19)는 S11단계에 따른 대기 상태로 복귀할 수 있다.
이와 같은 본 발명에 따른 배터리 시스템(100)에 적용되는 배터리 히터913,113,213,313)에 대해서 도 3 내지 도 28을 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.

제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(13)에 대해서 구체적으로 설명하면 다음과 같다.
베이스 기판(30)은 절연성을 갖는 플라스틱 소재의 기판으로, 상부면(31)과, 상부면(31)에 반대되는 하부면(33)을 갖는다. 베이스 기판(30)은 양면(31,33)에 형성되는 면상 발열체 어레이(80)에 인가되는 전원과 열이 외부로 빠져가는 것을 억제하는 기능을 하는 절연성과 단열성을 갖는 소재로 제조된다. 예컨대 베이스 기판(30)의 소재로는 폴리이미드(polyimide), 폴리에테르술폰(polyethersulphone; PES), 폴리아크릴레이트(polyacrylate: PAR), 폴리에테르이미드(polyetherimide; PEI), 폴리에틸렌 나프탈레이트(polyethyelenen napthalate; PEN), 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이드(polyethyeleneterepthalate; PET), 폴리페닐렌 설파이드(polyphenylene sulfide: PPS), 폴리아릴레이트(polyallylate), 폴리카보네이트(PC), 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트(cellulose triacetate; CTA) 또는 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 프로피오네이트(cellulose acetate propinonate; CAP)가 사용될 수 있으며, 나열된 것들로 한정되는 것은 아니다. 베이스 기판(30)은 배터리 히터(13)가 사용되는 응용 분야나 사용 온도에 따라서 적절히 선택될 수 있다.
면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 균일하게 메트릭스(matrix) 형태로 배열된다. 면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)와 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)를 포함할 수 있다. 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)는 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)의 일측에 형성되며, 일렬로 배열된 복수의 제1 면상 발열체(87)를 구비한다. 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)에서 이격된 베이스 기판(30)의 하부면(33)의 일측에 형성되며, 일렬로 배열된 복수의 제2 면상 발열체(89)를 구비한다. 예컨대 제1 실시예에서는 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(81,83)는 각각 4개의 면상 발열체(85)가 구비하는 예를 개시하였지만, 베이스 기판(30)의 면적에 따라서 면상 발열체(85)의 개수와 크기는 달라질 수 있다.
이때 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)를 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)으로 프로젝션 했을 때, 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)와 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)는 서로 이격되어 있다. 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)에서 보았을 때, 왼쪽에 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)가 배치되고, 오른쪽에 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)가 배치된 형태를 갖는다. 이로 인해 면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 베이스 기판(30)에 균일하게 배치된 형태를 갖는다.
제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(81,83)는 각각 일렬로 복수의 면상 발열체(85)를 포함하도록 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성하는 이유는, 복수의 면상 발열체(85)로 전원을 인가하기 위해서 형성되는 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 경로 즉 길이를 최소화하기 위해서이다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 길이를 최소화함으로써, 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 길이 증가로 인한 전압 강하가 발생되는 것을 억제하여 복수의 면상 발열체(85)에 전원이 안정적으로 공급할 수 있다. 따라서 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(81,83)의 안정적인 발열 균일도를 유지할 수 있다.
한편으로 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이를 베이스 기판의 일면에 모두 형성할 수 있지만, 이 경우 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이로 전원을 공급하는 전극 배선 패턴의 길이가 길어지기 때문에, 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 길이 증가로 인한 전압 강하가 발생된다. 이로 인해 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이 전체에 균일한 전원이 공급되지 못하기 때문에, 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이의 발열 균일도가 떨어질 수 있다.
또한 한편으로 베이스 기판의 일면 전체에 일렬로 면상 발열체 어레이를 형성하는 방안을 고려해 볼 수 있지만, 이 경우 면상 발열체의 면적이 두 배 이상으로 증가하기 때문에, DC 3V 내지 4V의 저전압에서 짧은 시간에 발열시키는 데는 무리가 있다.
면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 형성하는 복수의 면상 발열체(85)는 발열체 조성물을 인쇄한 후, 건조 및 경화하여 형성한다. 면상 발열체(85)의 인쇄 방법으로는 스크린 인쇄, 그라비아 인쇄(내지 롤투롤 그라비아 인쇄), 콤마 코팅(내지 롤투롤 콤마 코팅), 플렉소, 임프린팅, 옵셋 인쇄 등이 사용될 수 있다. 건조 및 경화는 100℃ 내지 180℃에서 수행할 수 있다.
면상 발열체(85)를 형성하는 발열체 조성물은 전도성 입자와 합성 바인더를 포함한다. 면상 발열체(85)를 형성하기 위해서, 인쇄 공정에 투입되는 발열체 조성물은 전도성 입자와 합성 바인더 이외에, 유기 용매와 분산제를 더 포함한다.
발열체 조성물은 발열체 조성물 100 중량부에 대해서, 혼합 바인더 5 내지 30 중량부, 전도성 입자 0.7 내지 60 중량부, 유기 용매 29 내지 80 중량부, 및 분산제 0.5 내지 5 중량부를 포함할 수 있다.
전도성 입자는 전도성을 갖는 탄소 입자 또는 금속 분말을 포함한다. 탄소 입자로는 탄소나노튜브 입자 또는 그라파이트 입자가 사용될 수 있다. 금속 분말로는 은, 구리 또는 니켈 소재의 분말이 사용될 수 있다. 예컨대 전도성 입자는 발열 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여 탄소나노튜브 입자 0.1 내지 5 중량부, 그라파이트 입자 0.1 내지 20 중량부 또는 금속 분말 10 내지 60 중량부를 포함할 수 있다.
탄소나노튜브 입자는 단일벽 탄소나노튜브, 이중벽 탄소나노튜브, 다중벽 탄소나노튜브 또는 이들의 혼합물로부터 선택될 수 있다. 예컨대 탄소나노튜브 입자는 다중벽 탄소나노튜브(multi wall carbon nanotube)일 수 있다. 탄소나노튜브 입자가 다중벽 탄소나노튜브일 때, 직경은 1nm 내지 20nm 일 수 있고, 길이는 1㎛ 내지 100㎛일 수 있다.
그라파이트 입자는 직경이 1㎛ 내지 25㎛일 수 있고, 두께가 1nm 내지 25㎛일 수 있다.
금속 분말은 은, 구리 또는 니켈 소재의 분말을 포함한다. 은 분말의 경우, 플레이크, 구형, 다각형 판상, 막대(rod) 등의 형태를 가질 수 있다. 구리 분말로는 은이 코팅된 구리(Ag coated Cu) 분말, 니켈이 코팅된 구리(Ni coated Cu) 분말 등이 사용될 수 있다. 그리고 니켈 분말로는 은이 코팅된 니켈(Ag coated Ni) 분말이 사용될 수 있다.
탄소 입자와 금속 분말을 포함하는 발열체 조성물로 면상 발열체(85)를 형성하는 경우, 금속 분말이 주 전기적 네트워크를 형성하고, 금속 분말 사이의 공간에 탄소 입자가 채워져 3차원 랜덤 네트워크 구조를 형성한다.
이와 같이 발열체 조성물은 탄소 입자와 금속 분말을 포함함으로써, 면상 발열체(85)의 에너지 효율 및 발열 속도를 높일 수 있다. 즉 금속 분말은 흑체 복사 기능을 갖지 않지만, 발열체 조성물에 탄소 입자를 포함시킴으로써, 흑체 복사 기능을 구현할 수 있다. 탄소 입자로 인해서 면상 발열체(85)의 내열성을 높일 수 있다. 그리고 탄소 입자로 인해서 발열 속도 및 에너지 효율을 높일 수 있다.
면상 발열체(85)의 비저항은 전체 고형분 중 탄소 입자 또는 금속 분말의 함량에 의해 결정될 수 있다. 예컨대 1×10-
2Ω㎝ 영역대까지는 탄소 입자만으로 비저항 조절이 가능하나, 그 이하의 영역은 금속 분말의 추가적인 도입이 필요하다. 제1 실시예에 따른 면상 발열체(85)는 9×10-2 내지 1.1×10-3 Ω㎝의 비저항을 가질 수 있다. 후술되겠지만, 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 면상 발열체(85)의 전기전도도의 400배 이상이 바람직하다.
합성 바인더는 300℃ 가량의 온도에서도 내열성을 가질 수 있도록, 페놀계 수지, 아세탈계 수지, 이소시아네이트계 수지 및 에폭시계 수지 중 적어도 2종을 포함한다. 예컨대 합성 바인더는 에폭시(epoxy), 에폭시 아크릴레이트(epoxy acrylate), 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트(hexamethylene diisocyanate), 폴리비닐 아세탈(polyvinyl acetal) 및 페놀계 수지(phenol resin) 중 적어도 2종을 포함한다
예컨대 혼합 바인더는 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트, 폴리비닐 아세탈 수지 및 페놀계 수지가 혼합된 형태를 가질 수 있다. 여기서 혼합 바인더는, 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트 100 중량부에 대하여 폴리비닐 아세탈 수지 10 내지 150 중량부, 페놀계 수지 100 내지 500 중량부를 포함한다. 페놀계 수지가 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트 100 중량부에 대하여 100 중량부 이하인 경우 내열성이 저하되고, 500 중량부를 초과하는 경우 면상 발열체의 유연성이 저하되어 취성이 강해진다.
이와 같이 제1 실시예에서는 혼합 바인더의 내열성을 높임으로써, 면상 발열체(85)를 300℃ 가량의 고온으로 발열시키는 경우에도, 면상 발열체(85)의 저항 변화나 파손을 억제할 수 있다.
여기에서 페놀계 수지는 페놀 및 페놀 유도체를 포함하는 페놀계 화합물을 의미한다. 예컨대 페놀 유도체는 p-크레졸(p-Cresol), o-구아야콜(o-Guaiacol), 크레오졸(Creosol), 카테콜(Catechol), 3-메톡시-1,2-벤젠디올(3-methoxy-1,2-Benzenediol), 호모카테콜(Homocatechol), 비닐구아야콜(Vinylguaiacol), 시링콜(Syringol), 이소-유제놀(Iso-eugenol), 메톡시 유제놀(Methoxyeugenol), o-크레졸(o-Cresol), 3-메틸-1,2-벤젠디올 (3-methyl-1,2-Benzenediol), (z)-2-메톡시-4-(1-프로페닐)-페놀((z)-2-methoxy-4-(1-propenyl)-Phenol), 2,6-디에톡시-4-(2-프로페닐)-페놀(2,6-dimethoxy-4-(2-propenyl)-Phenol), 3,4-디메톡시-페놀(3,4-dimethoxy-Phenol), 4-에틸-1,3-벤젠디올(4-ethyl-1,3-Benzenediol), 레졸 페놀(Resole phenol), 4-메틸-1,2-벤젠디올(4-methyl-1,2-Benzenediol), 1,2,4-벤젠트리올(1,2,4-Benzenetriol), 2-메톡시-6-메틸페놀(2-Methoxy-6-methylphenol), 2-메톡시-4-비닐페놀(2-Methoxy-4-vinylphenol) 또는 4-에틸-2-메톡시-페놀(4-ethyl-2-methoxy-Phenol) 등이 있으며, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
유기 용매는 전도성 입자 및 혼합 바인더를 분산시키기 위한 것으로, 카비톨 아세테이트(Carbitol acetate), 부틸 카비톨 아세테이트(Butyl carbotol acetate), DBE(dibasic ester), 에틸카비톨, 에틸카비톨아세테이트, 디프로필렌글리콜메틸에테르, 셀로솔브아세테이트, 부틸셀로솔브아세테이트, 부탄올(Butanol) 및 옥탄올(Octanol) 중에서 선택되는 2 이상의 혼합 용매일 수 있다.
한편, 분산을 위한 공정은 통상적으로 사용되는 다양한 방법들이 적용될 수 있으며, 예를 들면 초음파처리(Ultra-sonication), 롤밀(Roll mill), 비드밀(Bead mill) 또는 볼밀(Ball mill) 과정을 통해 이루어질 수 있다.
그리고 분산제는 전도성 입자의 분산을 보다 원활하게 하기 위한 것으로, BYK류와 같이 당업계에서 이용되는 통상의 분산제, Triton X-100과 같은 양쪽성 계면활성제, SDS 등과 같은 이온성 계면활성제를 이용할 수 있다.
또한 제1 실시예에 따른 발열체 조성물은 발열체 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여, 첨가제로서 실란 커플링제 0.1 내지 5 중량부를 더 포함할 수 있다.
실란 커플링제는 발열체 조성물의 배합 시에 수지들 간에 접착력을 증진시키는 접착증진제 기능을 한다. 실란 커플링제는 에폭시 함유 실란 또는 머켑토 함유 실란일 수 있다. 이러한 실란 커플링제의 예로는 에폭시가 함유된 것으로 2-(3,4 에폭시 사이클로헥실)-에틸트리메톡시실란, 3-글리시독시트리메톡시실란, 3-글리시독시프로필트리에톡시실란, 3-글리시독시프로필트리에톡시실란이 있고, 아민기가 함유된 것으로 N-2(아미노에틸)3-아미토프로필메틸디메톡시실란, N-2(아미노에틸)3-아미노프로필트리메톡시실란, N-2(아미노에틸)3-아미노프로필트리에톡시실란, 3-아미노프로필트리메톡시실란, 3-아미노프로필트리에톡시실란, 3-트리에톡시실리-N-(1,3-디메틸뷰틸리덴)프로필아민, N-페닐-3-아미노프로필트리메톡시실란이 있으며, 머켑토가 함유된 것으로 3-머켑토프로필메틸디메톡시실란, 3-머켑토프로필트리에톡시실란, 이소시아네이트가 함유된 3-이소시아네이트프로필트리에톡시실란 등이 있으며, 이것에 한정되지 않는다.
전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 외부에서 인가되는 전원을 면상 발열체 어레이(80)로 공급한다. 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 전극 배선 패턴(40)을 형성하는 이유는, 전압 강하를 최소화하기 위해서이다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 금속층을 적층한 후 사진식각기술을 이용한 패터닝으로 형성할 수 있다.
전극 배선 패턴(40)의 소재로는 알루미늄이 사용될 수 있으며, 30㎛ 이상의 두께를 갖는다. 바람직하게는 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 30 내지 70㎛의 두께를 가질 수 있다. 예컨대 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 두께가 30㎛ 미만인 경우, 사용전압이 DC 4.5V 내지 2V인 경우, 전압강하가 발생할 수 있다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 두께가 70㎛ 초과하는 경우, 알루미늄의 식각율(etching rate)로 인해서 에지-컷(edge-cut)과 같은 식각 불량이 발생되고, 이것은 박리 강도 및 신뢰성에 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 따라서 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 두께는 최소 30㎛ 이상 70㎛ 이하로 형성하는 것이 바람직하다.
이러한 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81) 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 전원을 인가한다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)에 전기적으로 연결된 제1 전극 배선 패턴(50)과, 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)에 전기적으로 연결된 제2 전극 배선 패턴(60)을 포함한다.
제1 전극 배선 패턴(50)은 제1-1 전극 패드(51), 제1-1 연결 배선(52), 복수의 제1-1 전극 단자(53), 제1-2 전극 패드(54), 제1-2 연결 배선(55), 및 복수의 제1-2 전극 단자(56)를 포함한다.
제1-1 전극 패드(51) 및 제1-2 전극 패드(54)는 보조 전원부(도 1의 17)의 양극과 음극에 연결되어 전원을 공급받는다. 제1-1 전극 패드(51) 및 제1-2 전극 패드(54)는 서로 이격되어 형성된다.
제1-1 연결 배선(52)은 제1-1 전극 패드(51)와 연결되며, 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)의 일측에 복수의 제1 면상 발열체(87)를 따라서 형성된다.
복수의 제1-1 전극 단자(53)는 제1-1 연결 배선(52)에 연결되며, 복수의 제1 면상 발열체(87)의 하부에 각각 형성된다.
제1-2 연결 배선(55)은 제1-2 전극 패드(54)와 연결되며, 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)의 타측에 복수의 제1 면상 발열체(87)를 따라서 형성된다.
그리고 복수의 1-2 전극 단자(56)는 제1-2 연결 배선(55)에 연결되며, 복수의 제1 면상 발열체(87)의 하부에 각각 형성되며, 복수의 제1-1 전극 단자(53)에 이격되게 형성된다. 제1-1 및 제1-2 전극 단자(53,56)는 서로 평행하게 형성될 수 있다.
복수의 제1 면상 발열체(87)는 제1-1 전극 단자(53) 및 제1-2 전극 단자(56)를 통하여 보조 전원부(도 1의 17)로부터 전원을 인가받아 발열하게 된다.
제2 전극 배선 패턴(60)은 제2-1 전극 패드(61), 제2-1 연결 배선(62), 복수의 제2-1 전극 단자(63), 제2-2 전극 패드(64), 제2-2 연결 배선(65), 및 복수의 제2-2 전극 단자(66)를 포함한다.
제2-1 전극 패드(61) 및 제2-2 전극 패드(64)는 보조 전원부(도 1의 17)의 양극과 음극에 연결되어 전원을 공급받는다. 제2-1 전극 패드(61) 및 제2-2 전극 패드(64)는 서로 이격되어 형성된다.
제2-1 연결 배선(62)은 제2-1 전극 패드(61)와 연결되며, 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)의 일측에 복수의 제2 면상 발열체(89)를 따라서 형성된다.
복수의 제2-1 전극 단자(63)는 제2-1 연결 배선(62)에 연결되며, 복수의 제2 면상 발열체(89)의 하부에 각각 형성된다.
제2-2 연결 배선(65)은 제2-2 전극 패드(64)와 연결되며, 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)의 타측에 복수의 제2 면상 발열체(89)를 따라서 형성된다.
그리고 복수의 2-2 전극 단자(66)는 제2-2 연결 배선(65)에 연결되며, 복수의 제2 면상 발열체(89)의 하부에 각각 형성되며, 복수의 제2-1 전극 단자(63)에 이격되게 형성된다. 제2-1 및 제2-2 전극 단자(63,66)는 서로 평행하게 형성될 수 있다.
복수의 제2 면상 발열체(89)는 제2-1 전극 단자(63) 및 제2-2 전극 단자(66)를 통하여 보조 전원부(도 1의 17)로부터 전원을 인가받아 발열하게 된다.
제1-1 전극 패드(51)와 제2-1 전극 패드(61)는 공유하고, 제1-2 전극 패드(56)와 제2-2 전극 패드(66)는 공유할 수 있다. 서로 공유하는 전극 패드(51,61)(56,66)는 베이스 기판(30)의 외측에서 서로 접합되어 형성될 수 있다. 또는 서로 공유하는 전극 패드(51,61)(56,66)는 베이스 기판(30) 위에 형성되고, 베이스 기판(30)을 관통하여 형성된 비아를 통하여 서로 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
절연층(70)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 전극 배선 패턴(40) 사이를 메워 전극 배선 패턴(40)과 베이스 기판(30)의 단자를 줄인다. 절연층(70)의 상부면은 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 상부면과 동일 높이에 오도록 형성할 수 있다. 절연층(70)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 절연성 필름을 합지하여 형성하거나, 액상의 절연성 수지를 도포하여 형성할 수 있다. 이러한 절연층(70)은 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)에 형성된 제1 절연층(71)과, 베이스 기판(30)의 하부면(33)에 형성된 제2 절연층(73)을 포함한다. 절연층(70)의 소재로는 폴리이미드, 에폭시 수지, OCA(optically clear adhesive) 또는 OCR(optically clear resin)이 사용될 수 있으며, 이것에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
그리고 보호층(90)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 덮어 외부 환경으로부터 보호한다. 이때 보호층(90)은 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 전극 패드(51,61)(56,66)가 외부로 노출되게 형성될 수 있다. 보호층(90)은 소재로는 절연성을 갖는 플라스틱 소재의 필름으로서, 폴리이미드, 에폭시 수지, OCA(optically clear adhesive) 또는 OCR(optically clear resin)이 사용될 수 있으며, 이것에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
이와 같이 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(13)는 발열체 조성물로 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성함으로써, DC 3V 내지 DC 4V의 저전압에서도 0.5 내지 1.5W/cm2 의 높은 발열량을 갖는다.
이와 같은 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(13)의 제조 방법에 대해서 도 1 내지 도 15를 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다. 여기서 도 6 내지 도 15는 도 3의 배터리 히터(13)의 제조 방법에 따른 각 단계를 보여주는 도면들이다.
먼저 도 6 및 도 7에 도시된 바와 같이, 베이스 기판(30)을 준비한다. 제1 실시예에서는 베이스 기판(30)으로 폴리이미드 기판을 사용하였다. 여기서 도 7은 도 6의 7-7선 단면도이다.
다음으로 도 8에 도시된 바와 같이, 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 금속층(41,43)을 부착한다. 금속층(41,43)으로는 30 내지 70㎛의 두께를 갖는 알루미늄 금속판을 사용할 수 있다. 여기서 금속층(41,43)은 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)에 형성된 제1 금속층(41)과, 베이스 기판(30)의 하부면(33)에 형성된 제2 금속층(43)을 포함한다.
다음으로 도 9 내지 도 13에 도시된 바와 같이, 감광제를 이용한 사진식각기술을 이용하여 금속층(41,43)을 패터닝하여 전극 배선 패턴(40)으로 형성한다.
먼저 도 9에 도시된 바와 같이, 제1 및 제2 금속층(41,43) 위에 감광제를 도포하여 감광층(44,45)을 형성한다. 감광층(44,45)은 제1 금속층(41) 위에 형성된 제1 감광층(44)과, 제2 금속층(43) 위에 형성된 제2 감광층(45)을 포함한다.
다음으로 도 10에 도시된 바와 같이, 마스크(46,47)를 이용하여 감광층(44,45)을 자외선 노광한다. 마스크(46,47)에는 형성된 전극 배선 패턴에 대응되게 마스크 패턴(46a,47a)이 형성되어 있다. 마스크(46,47)는 제1 감광층(44) 위에 배치되는 제1 마스크(46)와, 제2 감광층(45) 위에 배치되는 제2 마스크(47)를 포함한다.
다음으로 도 10 및 도 11에 도시된 바와 같이, 노광된 감광층(44,45)을 현상하여 감광층 패턴(48,49)을 형성한다. 즉 감광층(44,45)에서 노광된 부분만 남기고 나머지 부분을 현상액으로 제거하여 감광층 패턴(48,49)을 형성한다. 감광층 패턴(48,49)은 제1 금속층(41) 위에 형성되는 제1 감광층 패턴(48)과, 제2 금속층(43) 위에 형성되는 제2 감광층 패턴(49)을 포함한다. 제1 감광층 패턴(48)은 제1 전극 배선 패턴에 대응되게 형성된다. 제2 감광층 패턴(49)은 제2 전극 배선 패턴에 대응되게 형성된다.
이어서 도 12에 도시된 바와 같이, 감광층 패턴(48,49)을 식각 마스크로 해서 금속층(41,43)을 식각하여 감광층 패턴(48,49) 아래의 금속층 부분만 남긴다. 감광층 패턴(48,49) 아래에 남은 금속층 부분이 전극 배선 패턴(50,60)으로 형성된다.
그리고 도 12 및 도 13에 도시된 바와 같이, 전극 배선 패턴(40) 상부의 감광층 패턴(48,49)을 제거함으로써, 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)으로 노출되는 전극 배선 패턴(40)을 형성한다.
다음으로 도 14에 도시된 바와 같이, 전극 배선 패턴(40) 사이의 공간을 절연층(70)으로 메운다. 이때 전극 배선 패턴(40)과 절연층(70)은 상부면이 실질적으로 동일면에 위치할 수 있도록, 절연층(70)을 형성하는 바람직하다. 절연층(70)은 제1 전극 배선 패턴(50) 사이를 메우는 제1 절연층(71)과, 제2 전극 배선 패턴(60) 사이를 메우는 제2 절연층(73)을 포함한다.
이때 절연층(70)은 다음과 같이 형성할 수 있다. 먼저 전극 배선 패턴(40) 사이에 절연성 수지를 도포하여 절연층(70)을 형성할 수 있다. 이때 절연성 수지는 전극 배선 패턴(40)을 포함한 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)을 덮도록 형성한다. 그리고 전극 배선 패턴(40)이 외부로 노출되게 절연성 수지를 연마하여 절연층(70)을 형성할 수 있다.
또는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 절연성 필름을 합지하여 전극 배선 패턴(40) 사이를 메운 후, 전극 배선 패턴(40) 상부의 절연성 필름 부분을 제거하여 절연층(70)을 형성할 수 있다.
또는 전극 배선 패턴(40) 사이의 영역에 대응되게 개방부가 형성된 절연성 필름을 합지하여 절연층(70)을 형성할 수 있다.
다음으로 도 15에 도시된 바와 같이, 절연층(70)과 전극 배선 패턴(40) 위에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴(40)에 전기적으로 연결되는 복수의 면상 발열체(87,89)를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 형성한다. 이때 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 형성하는 복수의 면상 발열체(87,89)는 발열체 조성물을 인쇄한 후, 건조 및 경화하여 형성한다. 면상 발열체(87,89)의 인쇄 방법으로는 스크린 인쇄, 그라비아 인쇄(내지 롤투롤 그라비아 인쇄), 콤마 코팅(내지 롤투롤 콤마 코팅), 플렉소, 임프린팅, 옵셋 인쇄 등이 사용될 수 있다. 건조 및 경화는 100℃ 내지 180℃에서 수행할 수 있다.
그리고 도 3에 도시된 바와 같이, 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 덮는 보호층(90)을 형성함으로써, 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(13)를 제조할 수 있다. 이때 보호층(90)은 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81)를 덮는 제1 보호층(91)과, 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83)를 덮는 제2 보호층(93)을 포함한다.
한편 제1 실시예에서는 베이스 기판(30)에 하나의 배터리 히터(13)를 제조하는 예를 개시하였지만, 이것에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 베이스 기판 스트립을 이용하여 복수의 배터리 히터를 함께 제조할 수 있다. 이 경우, 보호층을 덮는 공정 이후에, 베이스 기판 스트립에서 개별 배터리 히터를 분리하는 타발 공정을 더 수행할 수 있다.
이와 같은 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터의 발열 특성을 확인하기 위해서, 도 16 내지 도 20에 도시된 바와 같이, 발열 거동 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 여기서 면상 발열체 어레이의 크기는 180×30㎟ 이고, 전극 배선 패턴의 비저항은 2.75×10-6 Ω㎝으로 가정하였다.
도 16 및 도 17은 면상 발열체와 전극 배선 패턴 간의 전기전도도가 200배로 차이나는 배터리 히터의 발열 거동 시뮬레이션 결과를 보여주는 그림이다.
도 16 및 도 17을 참조하면, 배터리 히터는 DC 4V 인가시 76.9℃(도 16)에서, 시간이 경과함에 따라 85.6℃(도 17)로 발열됨을 확인할 수 있다. 하지만 전원이 인가되는 초입에 위치하는 면상 발열체에 비해서 말단에 위치하는 면상 발열체는 상대적으로 발열량이 떨어짐을 알 수 있다. 즉 전극 배선 패턴이 면상 발열체에 비해서 전기전도도가 200배로 높은 경우, 면상 발열체 어레이는 불균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
도 18은 면상 발열체와 전극 배선 패턴 간의 전기전도도가 300배로 차이나는 배터리 히터의 발열 거동 시뮬레이션 결과를 보여주는 그림이다.
도 18을 참조하면, 배터리 히터는 DC 4V 인가시 83.6℃로 발열됨을 확인할 수 있다. 하지만 전원이 인가되는 초입에 위치하는 면상 발열체에 비해서 말단에 위치하는 면상 발열체는 상대적으로 발열량이 떨어짐을 알 수 있다. 즉 전극 배선 패턴이 면상 발열체에 비해서 전기전도도가 300배로 높은 경우에도, 면상 발열체 어레이가 불균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
도 19 및 도 20은 면상 발열체와 전극 배선 패턴 간의 전기전도도가 400배로 차이나는 배터리 히터의 발열 거동 시뮬레이션 결과를 보여주는 그림이다.
도 19를 참조하면, 배터리 히터는 DC 4V 인가시 72.2℃로 발열됨을 확인할 수 있으며, 더욱이 면상 발열체 어레이 전반에 걸쳐 균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 즉 전극 배선 패턴이 면상 발열체에 비해서 전기전도도가 400배로 높은 경우에는 면상 발열체 어레이가 균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
또한 도 20을 참조하면, 배터리 히터는 DC 4V 인가시 355℃로 발열됨을 확인할 수 있으며, 더욱이 면상 발열체 어레이 전반에 걸쳐 균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
따라서 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터는 전극 배선 패턴이 면상 발열체에 비해서 전기전도도가 400배 이상이 되도록 형성하는 것이 바람직하다.
그리고 구동 전압이 4V 이하로 매우 낮고, 발열 면적이 15×5㎠ 이상으로 대면적을 요구할 경우, 전극 배선 패턴의 전압 강하(voltage drop)가 필연적으로 발생하고, 발열 균일도도 저하될 가능성이 높다. 따라서 제1 실시예에서는 전극 배선 패턴의 전압 강하를 최소화하고 균일한 발열을 유도하기 위해서, 전체 발열 면적의 반은 베이스 기판의 상부면에 형성하여 발열시키고, 나머지 반의 면적은 베이스 기판의 하부면에 형성하는 것이 바람직하다.
도 21은 본 발명의 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 3.5V를 인가한 경우의 발열 거동을 보여주는 열화상 이미지이다. 도 22는 본 발명의 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 4V를 인가한 경우의 발열 거동을 보여주는 열화상 이미지이다. 열화상 이지에서 +로 표시된 Sp1~Sp8은 온도 측정 지점이다.
도 21 및 도 22를 참조하면, 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터는 80×150㎟으로 제조하였다. 전극 배선 패턴이 면상 발열체에 비해서 전기전도도가 400배 이상이 되도록 제조하였다.
제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 3.5V, DC 4V를 인가한 결과 전체적으로 균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 즉 도 21을 참조하면, DC 3.5V를 인가한 경우, Sp1은 201.9℃, Sp2는 197.3℃, Sp3은 235.9℃, Sp4는 201.4℃, Sp5는 198.0℃, Sp6은 194.6℃, Sp7은 231.7℃, Sp8은 214.6℃로 측정되었다. 도 22를 참조하면, DC 4V를 인가한 경우, Sp1은 274.8℃, Sp2는 261.8℃, Sp3은 311.7℃, Sp4는 283.1℃, Sp5는 263.6℃, Sp6은 263.4℃, Sp7은 313.1℃, Sp8은 288.0℃로 측정되었다.

도 22는 본 발명의 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 4V 구동시의 발열 거동 데이터를 보여주는 그래프이다.
도 22를 참조하면, 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터는 보조 배터리인 슈퍼 커패시터의 구동 전압인 4V 내외의 영역에서 55℃ 이상의 발열 구동이 가능함을 알 수 있다.
DC 4V의 구동시, 300℃까지 구동이 가능하며, 10초 이내에 매우 빠른 속도로 300℃까지 도달할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

실시예
한편 제1 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(13)는 높이 편차를 줄이기 위해서 절연층(70)을 형성하는 예를 개시하였지만 이것에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 즉 도 24 및 도 25에 도시된 바와 같이, 절연층을 형성하지 않을 수도 있다.
도 24는 본 발명의 제2 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(113)를 보여주는 단면도이다.
도 24를 참조하면, 제2 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(113)는 베이스 기판(30), 전극 배선 패턴(40) 및 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 포함하며, 보호층(90)을 더 포함할 수 있다. 여기서 베이스 기판(30)은 절연성을 갖는다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성된다. 면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴(40)에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체(87,89)를 구비한다. 그리고 보호층(90)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 덮는다.

실시예
도 25는 본 발명의 제3 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(213)를 보여주는 단면도이다.
도 25를 참조하면, 제3 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(213)는 베이스 기판(30), 전극 배선 패턴(40) 및 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 포함하며, 보호층(90)을 더 포함할 수 있다. 여기서 베이스 기판(90)은 절연성을 가지며, 양면(31,33)에 전극 배선 패턴 홈(35,37)이 형성되어 있다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 전극 배선 패턴 홈(35,37)에 충전되어 형성된다. 면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴(40)에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체(87,89)를 구비한다. 그리고 보호층(90)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 덮는다.
이때 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성된 전극 배선 패턴 홈935,37)에 충전되게 형성된다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판930)의 양면(31,33)과 동일 높이로 형성될 수 있다. 이로 인해 전극 배선 패턴(40)의 높이 편차를 줄이기 위해서, 제1 실시예와 같이 별도로 절연층을 형성할 필요가 없다.

실시예
한편 제1 내지 제3 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터는 베이스 기판의 양면에 면상 발열체 어레이가 형성되되, 상하로 서로 중복되지 않으면서 배터리 히터의 전면에 균일하게 면상 발열체가 형성된 구조를 개시하였지만, 도 26에 도시된 바와 같이, 베이스 기판의 양면 전체에 균일하게 면상 발열체 어레이를 형성할 수도 있다.
도 26은 본 발명의 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(313)를 보여주는 단면도이다.
도 26을 참조하면, 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(313)는 베이스 기판(30), 전극 배선 패턴(40), 절연층(70) 및 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 포함하며, 보호층(90)을 더 포함할 수 있다. 여기서 베이스 기판(30)은 절연성을 갖는다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성된다. 절연층(70)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며 전극 배선 패턴(40) 사이를 메우다. 면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴(40)에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체(85)를 구비한다. 그리고 보호층(90)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 면상 발열체 어레이(80)를 덮는다.
면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 균일하게 메트릭스(matrix) 형태로 배열된다. 면상 발열체 어레이(80)는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b)와 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)를 포함한다. 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b)는 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)의 전체에 균일하게 형성되며, 복수의 제1 면상 발열체를 구비한다. 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)는 베이스 기판(30)의 하부면(33) 전체에 균일하게 형성되며, 복수의 제2 면상 발열체를 구비한다. 예컨대 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b)는 2렬로 배열되며, 제1-1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a)와 제1-2 면상 발열체 어레이(81b)를 포함할 수 있다. 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b)에 대응되게 2렬로 배열되며, 제2-1 면상 발열체 어레이(83a)와 제2-2 면상 발열체 어레이(83b)를 포함할 수 있다.
이때 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)를 베이스 기판(30)의 상부면(31)으로 프로젝션 했을 때, 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b)와 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)는 서로 동일한 위치에 형성될 수 있다. 또는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b) 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 균일하게 형성되면서, 제1 및 제2 면상 발열체는 서로 상이한 위치에 형성되어도 무방하다.
전극 배선 패턴(40)은 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성되며, 외부에서 인가되는 전원을 면상 발열체 어레이(80)로 공급한다.
전극 배선 패턴(40)은 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b) 및 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 전원을 인가한다. 전극 배선 패턴(40)은 제1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a,81b)에 전기적으로 연결된 제1 전극 배선 패턴(50)과, 제2 면상 발열체 어레이(83a,83b)에 전기적으로 연결된 제2 전극 배선 패턴(60)을 포함한다.
제1 전극 배선 패턴(50)은 제1-1 면상 발열체 어레이(81a)를 연결하는 제1-1 전극 배선 패턴(50a)과, 제1-2 면상 발열체 어레이(81b)를 연결하는 제1-2 전극 배선 패턴(50b)을 포함한다.
제2 전극 배선 패턴(60)은 제2-1 면상 발열체 어레이(83a)를 연결하는 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(60a)과, 제2-2 면상 발열체 어레이(83b)를 연결하는 제2-2 전극 배선 패턴(60b)을 포함한다.
이때 베이스 기판(30)을 중심으로 상하로 위치하는 제1-1 전극 배선 패턴(50a)과 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(60a)의 전극 패드가 서로 연결된다. 제1-1 전극 배선 패턴(50a)과 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(60a)의 전극 패드는 베이스 기판(30)의 외측에서 서로 접합되어 형성될 수 있다. 또는 제1-1 전극 배선 패턴(50a)과 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(60a)의 전극 패드는 베이스 기판(30)의 위에 각각 형성되고, 베이스 기판(30)을 관통하여 형성된 비아를 통하여 서로 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
베이스 기판(30)을 중심으로 상하로 위치하는 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(50b)과 제2-2 전극 배선 패턴(60b)의 전극 패드가 서로 연결된다. 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(50b)과 제2-2 전극 배선 패턴(60b)의 전극 패드는 베이스 기판(30)의 외측에서 서로 접합되어 형성될 수 있다. 또는 제2-1 전극 배선 패턴(50b)과 제2-2 전극 배선 패턴(60b)의 전극 패드는 베이스 기판(30)의 위에 각각 형성되고, 베이스 기판(30)을 관통하여 형성된 비아를 통하여 서로 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
한편 제4 실시예에서는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 2렬로 면상 발열체가 형성된 예를 개시하였지만 이것에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 예컨대 베이스 기판(30)의 면적에 따라서 1렬 또는 3렬 이상으로 면상 발열체는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 형성할 수도 있다.
그리고 제4 실시예에 따른 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33)에 균일하게 복수의 면상 발열체(85)를 형성하는 구성은 제2 및 제3 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(113,213)에 적용될 수 있음은 물론이다.
이와 같이 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(313)는 베이스 기판(30)의 양면(31,33) 전체에 균일하게 형성되기 때문에, 제1 내지 3 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터(313)보다는 짧은 시간에 더 높은 온도로 대면적 발열이 가능하다.
도 27은 본 발명의 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 2V를 인가한 경우의 발열 거동을 보여주는 열화상 이미지이다. 도 28은 본 발명의 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 3.5V를 인가한 경우의 발열 거동을 보여주는 열화상 이미지이다.
도 27 및 도 28을 참조하면, 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터에 DC 2V, DC 3.5V를 인가한 결과 전체적으로 균일하게 발열되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 즉 4개의 라인(Li1,Li2,Li3,Li4)에서 온도를 측정하였다. 도 27을 참조하면, DC 2V를 인가한 경우, Li1은 81.7~142.4℃(평균 111.9℃), Li2는 82.7~153.4℃(평균 116.4℃), Li3은 98.6~154.3℃(평균 127.2℃), Li4는 88.5~151.1℃(평균 124.0℃)으로 측정되었다. 도 28을 참조하면, DC 3.5V를 인가한 경우, Li1은 143.9~235.7℃(평균 198.3℃), Li2는 131.5~243.7℃(평균 204.5℃), Li3은 124.0~254.6℃(평균 192.4℃), Li4는 125.0~237.3℃(평균 182.0℃)으로 측정되었다.

제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터는 보조 전원부인 슈퍼 커패시터의 구동 전압인 4V 내외의 영역에서 전체적으로 균일하게 70℃ 이상의 발열 구멍이 가능함을 확인할 수 있다.
특히 DC 4V의 인가 시, 300℃까지 구동이 가능하며, 10초 이내에 매우 빠른 속도로 300℃까지 도달할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다.
이와 같이 제4 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터는 베이스 기판의 양면 전체에 균일하게 형성되기 때문에, 제1 내지 3 실시예에 따른 배터리 히터보다는 짧은 시간에 더 높은 온도로 대면적 발열이 가능한 것으로 판단된다.
한편, 본 명세서와 도면에 개시된 실시예들은 이해를 돕기 위해 특정 예를 제시한 것에 지나지 않으며, 본 발명의 범위를 한정하고자 하는 것은 아니다. 여기에 개시된 실시예들 이외에도 본 발명의 기술적 사상에 바탕을 둔 다른 변형예들이 실시 가능하다는 것은, 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게는 자명한 것이다.

- 절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성된 전극 배선 패턴;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성되며 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메우는 절연층; 및상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 배터리 히터.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 베이스 기판의 소재는 폴리이미드(polyimide), 폴리에테르술폰(polyethersulphone; PES), 폴리아크릴레이트(polyacrylate: PAR), 폴리에테르이미드(polyetherimide; PEI), 폴리에틸렌 나프탈레이트(polyethyelenen napthalate; PEN), 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이드(polyethyeleneterepthalate; PET), 폴리페닐렌 설파이드(polyphenylene sulfide: PPS), 폴리아릴레이트(polyallylate), 폴리카보네이트(PC), 셀룰로오스 트리아세테이트(cellulose triacetate; CTA) 또는 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 프로피오네이트(cellulose acetate propinonate; CAP)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 면상 발열체 어레이는,상기 베이스 기판의 상부면의 일측에 형성되며, 일렬로 배열된 복수의 제1 면상 발열체를 구비하는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이; 및상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이에서 이격된 상기 베이스 기판의 하부면의 일측에 형성되며, 일렬로 배열된 복수의 제2 면상 발열체를 구비하는 제2 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이를 상기 베이스 기판의 상부면으로 프로젝션 했을 때, 상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이와 상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이는 서로 이격되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 발열체 조성물은 페놀계 수지, 아세탈계 수지, 이소시아네이트계 수지 및 에폭시계 수지 중 적어도 2종을 포함하는 합성 바인더와, 전도성 입자를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 발열체 조성물은,발열체 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여 혼합 바인더 5 내지 30 중량부와, 전도성 입자 0.7 내지 60 중량부를 포함하는 배터리 히터.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 합성 바인더는 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트, 폴리비닐 아세탈 및 페놀계 수지를 포함하고,상기 전도성 입자는 탄소나노튜브 입자, 그라파이트 입자, 은 분말, 은 코팅된 니켈 분말 및 은 코팅된 구리 분말 중 적어도 2종을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 혼합 바인더는 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트 100 중량부에 대하여 폴리비닐 아세탈 수지 10 내지 150 중량부, 페놀계 수지 100 내지 500 중량부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 전극 배선 패턴은 면상 발열체의 전기전도도의 400배 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 전극 배선 패턴에 4V 인가 시 상기 면상 발열체 어레이는 10초 이내에 300℃를 발열하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 면상 발열체의 비저항은 9×10-2 내지 1.1×10-3 Ω㎝인 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 전극 배선 패턴은 상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이 및 상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 전원을 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 전극 배선 패턴은상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이에 전기적으로 연결된 제1 전극 배선 패턴; 및상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이에 전기적으로 연결된 제2 전극 배선 패턴;을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전극 배선 패턴은,제1-1 전극 패드;상기 제1-1 전극 패드와 연결되며, 상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이의 일측에 상기 복수의 제1 면상 발열체를 따라서 형성된 제1-1 연결 배선;상기 제1-1 연결 배선에 연결되며, 상기 복수의 제1 면상 발열체의 하부에 각각 형성되는 복수의 제1-1 전극 단자;제1-2 전극 패드;상기 제1-2 전극 패드와 연결되며, 상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이의 타측에 상기 복수의 제1 면상 발열체를 따라서 형성된 제1-2 연결 배선; 및상기 제1-2 연결 배선에 연결되며, 상기 복수의 제1 면상 발열체의 하부에 각각 형성되며, 상기 복수의 제1-1 전극 단자에 이격되게 형성되는 복수의 제1-2 전극 단자;를 포함하는 배터리 히터.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전극 배선 패턴은,제2-1 전극 패드;상기 제2-1 전극 패드와 연결되며, 상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이의 일측에 상기 복수의 제2 면상 발열체를 따라서 형성된 제2-1 연결 배선;상기 제2-1 연결 배선에 연결되며, 상기 복수의 제2 면상 발열체의 하부에 각각 형성되는 복수의 제2-1 전극 단자;제2-2 전극 패드;상기 제2-2 전극 패드와 연결되며, 상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이의 타측에 상기 복수의 제2 면상 발열체를 따라서 형성된 제2-2 연결 배선; 및상기 제2-2 연결 배선에 연결되며, 상기 복수의 제2 면상 발열체의 하부에 각각 형성되며, 상기 복수의 제2-1 전극 단자에 이격되게 형성되는 복수의 제2-2 전극 단자;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 제1-1 전극 패드와 상기 제2-1 전극 패드는 공유하고, 상기 제1-2 전극 패드와 상기 제2-2 전극 패드는 공유하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 절연층의 소재는 폴리이미드, 에폭시 수지, OCA(optically clear adhesive) 또는 OCR(optically clear resin)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 전극 배선 패턴은 소재가 알루미늄이고, 두께가 30 내지 70㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성되며, 상기 면상 발열체 어레이를 덮는 보호층;을 더 포함하는 배터리 히터.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 복수의 면상 발열체는 상기 베이스 기판의 양면 전체에 균일하게 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제20항에 있어서,상기 복수의 면상 발열체는 상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 매트릭스(matrix) 형태로 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제21항에 있어서, 상기 면상 발열체 어레이는,상기 베이스 기판의 상부면 전체에 균일하게 형성된 복수의 제1 면상 발열체를 구비하는 제1 면상 발열체 어레이; 및상기 베이스 기판의 하부면 전체에 균일하게 형성된 복수의 제2 면상 발열체를 구비하는 제2 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 전극 배선 패턴은,상기 제1 면상 발열체 어레이에 전기적으로 연결된 제1 전극 배선 패턴; 및상기 제2 면상 발열체 어레이에 전기적으로 연결된 제2 전극 배선 패턴;을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 제23항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 전극 배선 패턴은상기 베이스 기판을 중심으로 양면에 대칭되게 적어도 1렬로 형성되며, 상기 베이스 기판을 중심으로 양면에 상하로 동일 열에 위치하는 전극 배선 패턴의 전극 패드는 서로 연결된 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터.
- 절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성된 전극 배선 패턴; 및상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 배터리 히터.
- 양면에 전극 배선 패턴 홈이 형성된 절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판;상기 베이스 기판의 전극 배선 패턴 홈에 충전되어 형성된 전극 배선 패턴; 및상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 배터리 히터.
- 베이스 기판의 양면에 전극 배선 패턴을 형성하는 단계;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메우는 절연층을 형성하는 단계; 및상기 절연층과 상기 전극 배선 패턴 위에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되는 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이를 형성하는 단계;를 포함하는 배터리 히터의 제조 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서, 상기 전극 배선 패턴을 형성하는 단계는,상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 알루미늄 소재의 금속층을 형성하는 단계; 및상기 금속층을 사진식각공정으로 패터닝하여 전극 배선 패턴을 형성하는 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터의 제조 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서, 상기 절연층을 형성하는 단계는,상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이에 절연성 수지를 도포하여 절연층을 형성하는 단계;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 절연성 필름을 합지하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메운 후, 상기 전극 배선 패턴 상부의 절연성 필름 부분을 제거하여 절연층을 형성하는 단계; 또는상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이의 영역에 대응되게 개방부가 형성된 절연성 필름을 합지하여 절연층을 형성하는 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터의 제조 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서,상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 상기 면상 발열체 어레이를 덮는 보호층을 형성하는 단계;를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 히터의 제조 방법.
- 리튬 배터리; 및상기 리튬 배터리에 설치되어 상기 리튬 배터리를 히팅하는 배터리 히터;를 포함하며,상기 배터리 히터는,절연성을 갖는 베이스 기판;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성된 전극 배선 패턴;상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 형성되며 상기 전극 배선 패턴 사이를 메우는 절연층; 및상기 베이스 기판의 양면에 발열체 조성물을 인쇄하여 상기 전극 배선 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되게 형성된 복수의 면상 발열체를 구비하는 면상 발열체 어레이;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 시스템.
- 제31항에 있어서,상기 리튬 배터리의 온도를 센싱하는 온도 센서;상기 배터리 히터에 전원을 공급하는 보조 전원부; 및상기 온도 센서로 센싱한 온도가 제1 임계 온도 이하인 경우, 상기 보조 전원부를 통하여 상기 배터리 히터에 전원을 공급하여 상기 배터리 히터에서 발열되는 열로 상기 리튬 배터리를 히팅하는 배터리 관리부;를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 시스템.
- 제32항에 있어서,상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리 히터로 상기 리튬 배터리를 히팅하여 상기 온도 센서로 센싱한 상기 리튬 배터리의 온도가 제2 임계 온도 이상인 경우, 상기 보조 전원부를 통하여 상기 배터리 히터로 공급되는 전원을 차단하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 시스템.
- 제32항에 있어서,상기 보조 전원부는 슈퍼 커패시터(super capacitor)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 시스템.
