Definitions
- the present invention relates to a spiral filament and a toothbrush using the same, and more particularly, to a spiral filament and a toothbrush using the same that can effectively remove the plaque between the teeth and between the teeth and the gums.
- Plaque removal is important for maintaining healthy teeth. To effectively remove plaque, the bristles must reach all areas within the oral cavity, particularly with proper friction between the teeth and the bristles.
- the filament constituting the general bristle is made of a synthetic resin monofilament in the shape of a rod having a circular cross section.
- Such monofilaments are formed with smooth curved surfaces on the outer circumference thereof, and thus cannot obtain proper lateral friction when brushing teeth. In other words, when brushing teeth, effective friction force is generated only at the end of the monofilament.
- the plaque formed on the surface of the tooth may be removed, but the plaque between the teeth and between the teeth and the gums is not easily removed. Therefore, people are brushed with excessive force, excessive brushing will stimulate the gums and cause gum disease. In particular, the force applied when brushing teeth deforms the bristles and lowers the cleaning power.
- Korean Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2014-0109055 (2014.09.15.) Discloses bristles having a friction jaw formed on the surface of a monofilament to improve side frictional force.
- the bristle is attached to the upper side of the conical shape is formed in contact with the teeth in the standing state to remove the foreign matter, and the friction jaw formed in the circumferential direction on the lower side of the conical shape to contact the teeth in the curved state
- Unit formed with a plurality of secondary side brush to remove the foreign side brush to remove the foreign side while the main side brush to remove, and the cylindrical shape of the upper and lower light is connected to the main side brush, the friction jaw in the circumferential direction is formed and contact with the teeth in the bent state Contains brush heads.
- the bristle of the above-described structure is improved in the side friction force due to a plurality of friction jaw formed along the unit bristle, it can be easily removed plaque of the interdental and alveolar.
- foreign matters caught in the rubbing jaw is not easily removed, there is a risk of corruption, and due to the rubbing jaw is difficult to remove the moisture, there is a fear that the microorganism or bacteria breed.
- the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and an object thereof is to provide a spiral filament that can effectively remove plaque between teeth and between teeth and gums.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a spiral filament that can improve the durability of the bristles do not easily open even if excessive force is applied when brushing teeth.
- the present invention further provides a toothbrush using a spiral filament.
- Spiral filament according to the present invention for achieving the above object is a monofilament constituting the bristle, the monofilament is a polygonal cross-sectional shape, has a twisted shape so that each corner of the polygon is spiral.
- the monofilament may have a rectangular cross-sectional shape and may have a tapered shape in which the cross-sectional area decreases toward the end.
- At least one of the edges of the monofilament may have a different color.
- each corner of the polygon has a twisted shape to form a spiral
- spiral grooves are repeated at regular intervals on the side of the filament. Therefore, when brushing teeth, the lateral frictional force is increased by the spiral groove, so that the plaque between the teeth and the teeth and between the teeth and the gums can be effectively removed.
- the spiral filament of the present invention is twisted to form each corner spiral, even if excessive force is applied when brushing the teeth can be easily bent or open to improve the durability of the bristles.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a spiral filament according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG 2 is an enlarged view of a portion of a spiral filament according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- 3 and 4 are enlarged pictures under a microscope of a portion of the spiral filament according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- 5 and 6 are views showing a modification of the spiral filament according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the toothbrush 1 includes a head 20 into which the bristle 10 is planted, and a handle 30 serving as a handle.
- the head 20 and the handle 30 are made of polypropylene, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polycyclohexylenedimethylene terephthalate, saturated polyester resin, polymethyl methacrylate, cellulose propionate, polyurethane, polyamide, ABS ( Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene).
- a resin such as an elastomer (elastomer) is applied to the handle 30 partly or entirely, slippage can be prevented and gripping properties can be improved.
- the bristle 10 is composed of a plurality of filaments 100 planted on the planting surface 22 of the head 20.
- the filament 100 constituting the bristle 10 is planted in a bundle of bundles, as shown in Figure 1 can be planted in a circle, or can be planted in an oval, long hole, polygonal.
- the filament 100 may be bent in a U shape and then fixed to the seedling surface 22 by a fixing piece (not shown) or directly to the seedling surface 22 through heat fusion.
- the material of the filament 100 may be one or two or more selected from polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polytrimethylene terephthalate, and polycyclohexanedimethylene terephthalate.
- the resin may be one or two or more selected from olefinic thermoplastic elastomers, styrene-based thermoplastic elastomers, and urethane-based thermoplastic elastomers.
- the filament 100 of the polyterephthalate-based material described above is excellent in rigidity, thereby improving cleaning power, and the thermoplastic elastomer-based material is excellent in elasticity, thereby preventing gums from being damaged.
- the filament 100 may be made of any one material of nylon resin, silicone resin, rubber resin, biodegradable resin.

- the spiral groove 110 formed in the spiral filament 100 increases the lateral friction force so that the plaque between the teeth and the teeth and between the teeth and the gums can be effectively removed when brushing teeth.
- the torsional stress of the spiral filament 100 absorbs the force applied when brushing the teeth to prevent the spiral filament 100 from easily bent or spread.
- the cross-sectional shape of the spiral filament 100 is illustrated as a quadrangle, but is not necessarily limited thereto, and may be formed as a polygon including a triangle.
- the spiral filament 100 of this embodiment is formed such that four corners are twisted 2 to 4 times (preferably 2.5 times) per cm (see FIGS. 3 and 4).
- the torsion of the spiral filament 100 is less than two times, durability increases, but the plaque cannot be effectively removed, and when the torsion is more than four times, the removal efficiency of the plaque is excellent but the torsion limit is vulnerable to external force.
- the spiral filament 100 may be tapered at an end portion thereof. That is, the cross-sectional area of the spiral filament 100 may be formed in a shape in which the cross-sectional area decreases toward the upper end and / or the lower end.
