Description

Mounting unit and display device
The present invention relates to an attachment unit for attaching a flexible display panel to a predetermined location, and a display device including the attachment unit.
In recent years, liquid crystal displays (LCD), which are representative of flat panel displays, have become mainstream not only in the field of small and medium-sized panels but also in the field of large-sized video display panels for TV. If such a large-screen display panel can be attached to a curved wall as well as a flat wall, the installation location can be expanded, and the display panel can be curved to improve the sense of presence or visibility. Can be made. For this reason, there is an increasing demand for a display panel having a curved display surface.
Therefore, the display panel is placed on a placement portion having a placement surface having the same shape as the curved shape of the display panel, and the handle portion is pushed down to rotate the rotation portion toward the placement portion, thereby bending the display panel. Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a main part showing an example of the configuration of the display device of the present embodiment. The display device according to the present embodiment includes a display panel 1, a mounting unit 10, a backlight unit 50, and the like. In FIG. 1, the bezel and other mechanism members are omitted for the sake of simplicity. A display panel 1 shown in FIG. 1 is a so-called open cell panel having a glass substrate, a color filter, a liquid crystal, a polarizing filter, an alignment film, a transparent electrode, a liquid crystal driver, a spacer, and the like, and has flexibility. Then, it is incorporated into the display device in a required curved state.
The mounting unit 10 can bend the display panel 1 fixed to the mounting unit 10 into a required curved state. By attaching the attachment unit 10 to the backlight unit 50, a display device incorporating the curved display panel 1 can be realized.
The mounting unit 10 includes a pair of first mounting portions 11 and 12, a pair of second mounting portions 13 and 14, brackets 20 and 21 as fixing portions, a pair of telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16, and a drive shaft body 19. Etc. A pair of 1st mounting parts 11 and 12 and a pair of 2nd mounting parts 13 and 14 comprise a mounting part. In addition, a pair of 1st mounting parts 11 and 12 and a pair of 2nd mounting parts 13 and 14 are also collectively called a mounting part. The mounting portion has a rectangular opening 30 and can be bent so that the mounted display panel 1 is in a required bending state. Specifically, the pair of first placement portions 11 and 12 can be bent. The pair of telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16 and the drive shaft body 19 constitute an adjustment unit. Specifically, the degree of curvature of the pair of first mounting portions 11 and 12 can be adjusted by expanding and contracting the pair of telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16. The pair of telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16 and the drive shaft body 19 are collectively referred to as an adjustment unit.
The backlight unit 50 includes a bottom plate 51, side plates 52 and 53, a housing portion 60, a plurality of substrates 61, a plurality of LEDs 62 mounted on each substrate 61, a diffusion sheet 63, and the like. Each substrate 61 on which the LED 62 is mounted is accommodated in the accommodating portion 60. Light from each LED 62 of the backlight unit 50 is diffused by the diffusion sheet 63 so that the surface is uniform, and then passes through the opening 30 and is irradiated to the back side of the display panel 1.
The pair of first mounting portions 11 and 12 are belt-like plate bodies that can be bent in a predetermined direction, and have an appropriate length (for example, a vertical dimension of the active area of the display panel 1 slightly shorter than a vertical dimension of the display panel 1). A little longer) spaced apart. The pair of second mounting portions 13 and 14 are spaced apart by an appropriate length (for example, a dimension slightly longer than the horizontal dimension of the active area of the display panel 1) in a state where the first mounting portions 11 and 12 are not curved. Has been. The second placement unit 13 connects one ends of the first placement units 11 and 12 to each other. The second placement unit 14 connects the other ends of the first placement units 11 and 12 to each other. That is, the pair of first mounting portions 11 and 12 mounts a pair of opposing edge portions among the four edge portions of the display panel 1, and the pair of second mounting portions 13 and 14 The other edge part which opposes among four edge parts of 1 is mounted.
The predetermined direction (curving direction) is the side on which the display panel 1 is placed as viewed from the first placement parts 11 and 12, and the center part is the display panel at both ends of the first placement parts 11 and 12. 1 is pushed up and curved to protrude. Accordingly, the pair of first mounting portions 11 and 12 are curved so as to push up a pair of facing edge portions among the four edge portions of the display panel 1, so that the display panel 1 can be curved.
A standing portion 131 is provided on the side edge of the second placement portion 13 so as to stand on the side on which the display panel 1 is placed. Further, a standing portion 141 is provided on the side edge of the second placement portion 14 so as to stand on the side on which the display panel 1 is placed. The standing portions 131 and 141 have a function of locking the side edges of the display panel 1 and can perform positioning when the display panel 1 is placed on the placement portion.
The one side edge of the display panel 1 can be sandwiched between the second mounting portion 13 and the bracket 20, and the bracket 20 can be fixed to the second mounting portion 13 with a screw or the like (not shown). Similarly, the other side edge of the display panel 1 can be sandwiched between the second placement portion 14 and the bracket 21, and the bracket 21 can be fixed to the second placement portion 14 with a screw or the like (not shown). Thereby, the display panel 1 can be fixed to a mounting part so that attachment or detachment is possible. When the brackets 20 and 21 are fixed, other locking mechanisms can be used instead of screws or the like. Moreover, when fixing the display panel 1 to a mounting part, you may use a double-sided tape.
The telescopic shaft body 15 can be expanded and contracted, and is disposed in parallel with the first mounting portion 11. The telescopic shaft body 16 is extendable and is disposed in parallel with the first placement unit 12. The drive shaft body 19 is disposed in parallel with the second placement portion 14. In other words, the drive shaft body 19 is disposed in a direction orthogonal to each of the telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16, is connected to one end of the telescopic shaft body 15 via the gear portion 17, and is connected to one end of the telescopic shaft body 15 via the gear portion 18. 16 is connected to one end. The drive shaft body 19 can drive the telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16 so that the telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16 expand and contract by rotating around the axis.
Both end portions of the drive shaft body 19 are fixed to the second placement portion 14 via brackets 142. Further, the drive shaft body 19 and one end of the telescopic shaft body 16 are coupled by a bracket 164 so that the drive shaft body 19 and the telescopic shaft body 16 are coupled via the gear portion 18. Further, the drive shaft body 19 and one end of the telescopic shaft body 15 are coupled by a bracket 164 so that the drive shaft body 19 and the telescopic shaft body 15 are coupled via the gear portion 17.
A bracket 165 is fixed to the other end of the telescopic shaft body 16, and the bracket 165 and the bracket 132 fixed to the second mounting portion 13 are rotatably connected. That is, the other end of the telescopic shaft body 16 is fixed to the second placement portion 13. The telescopic shaft body 15 is also fixed to the second mounting portion 13 with the same configuration as the telescopic shaft body 16.
When the telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16 expand and contract by driving (for example, rotating) the drive shaft body 19, the separation distance between the second placement portions 13 and 14 can be increased or decreased. The degree of curvature of the first placement portions 11 and 12 can be adjusted by changing the separation distance between the second placement portions 13 and 14.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing an example of the configuration of the connecting portion of the telescopic shaft body 16 and the drive shaft body 19 of the mounting unit 10 of the present embodiment. As shown in FIG. 2, the gear unit 18 includes a pair of gears 181 and 182 (for example, bevel gears). The telescopic shaft body 16 includes an outer cylindrical shaft body 161 having a threaded portion formed on the inner side, an inner shaft body 162 having a threaded portion formed on the outer side and screwed into the outer cylindrical shaft body 161, and the inner shaft body 162. A support cylinder 163 that is inserted and rotatably supported is provided.
The end of the outer cylinder shaft 161 opposite to the side into which the inner shaft 162 is screwed is fixed to the second mounting portion 13 via brackets 165 and 132. A gear 181 is fixed to the end of the inner shaft 162 opposite to the side screwed into the outer cylinder shaft 161. A gear 182 is fixed to the end of the drive shaft body 19, and a groove 183 is provided outside the gear 182 for transmitting a rotational force from the outside in order to rotate the drive shaft body 19.
A predetermined tool (for example, a driver) is brought into contact with the groove portion 183 to transmit the rotational force to the groove portion 183, thereby rotating the drive shaft body 19 in the direction indicated by the symbol A in FIG. In conjunction with the rotation of the drive shaft body 19, the inner shaft body 162 rotates in the direction indicated by the symbol B in FIG. As a result, the inner shaft body 162 enters the direction indicated by the symbol C in FIG. 2, and the telescopic shaft body 16 becomes shorter. On the contrary, when the drive shaft body 19 is rotated in the direction opposite to the direction indicated by the symbol A in FIG. 2, the inner shaft body 162 is moved in the direction indicated by the symbol B in FIG. 2 in conjunction with the rotation of the drive shaft body 19. It rotates in the opposite direction. As a result, the inner shaft body 162 retreats in the direction opposite to the direction indicated by the symbol C in FIG. 2, and the telescopic shaft body 16 becomes longer. That is, by rotating the drive shaft body 19, the inner shaft body 162 rotates and the inner shaft body 162 advances and retreats with respect to the outer cylinder shaft body 161, so that the telescopic shaft body 16 can be expanded and contracted. The advance / retreat of the telescopic shaft body 15 is the same as that of the telescopic shaft body 16.
As described above, the gear portions 17 and 18 expand and contract the telescopic shafts 15 and 16 in conjunction with the rotation of the drive shaft 19 around the axis. Thereby, by rotating the drive shaft body 19, the pair of telescopic shaft bodies 15 and 16 can be simultaneously expanded and contracted, and the first mounting portions 11 and 12 can be bent equally at the same timing. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the display panel 1 from being twisted when the display panel 1 is bent.
FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing an example of the configuration of the first placement portion 12 of the mounting unit 10 of the present embodiment. In addition, since the structure of the 1st mounting parts 11 and 12 is the same, the 1st mounting part 12 is demonstrated. As shown in FIG. 3, the first placement unit 12 is provided at a plurality of plate members 122 arranged in a strip shape and at an end portion of the plate member 122, so that the adjacent plate members 122 can rotate around the axis. And a shaft member 123 to be connected.
That is, a plurality of plate members 122 are connected to form a belt shape. Since the adjacent plate members 122 are connected so as to be rotatable around the axis of the shaft member 123, as shown in FIG. 3, the adjacent plate member 122 can be bent with the shaft member 123 as a fulcrum, As shown by reference sign D in FIG. 3, the plurality of plate members 122 can be curved as a whole.
In the example of FIG. 3, the first placement unit 12 includes six plate members 122, but the number of plate members 122 is not limited to six. In FIG. 3, the shaft member 123 is provided so as to protrude from the back surface (the lower surface in FIG. 3) of the plate member 122, but the outer diameter of the shaft member 123 is the thickness of the plate member 122. The shaft member 123 may be disposed between the adjacent plate members 122 in the same manner as in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the mounting unit 10 extends and retracts the telescopic shafts 15 and 16 to allow the first mounting portions 11 and 12 to bend in a direction opposite to the telescopic shafts 15 and 16 side. It is. Since the 1st mounting parts 11 and 12 are curved in the direction on the opposite side to the expansion- contraction shafts 15 and 16, the expansion- contraction shafts 15 and 16 do not become obstructed when making the display panel 1 into a required bending state.
Next, a method for handling the mounting unit 10 of the present embodiment will be described. FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing an example of a method for placing the display panel 1 on the mounting unit 10 of the present embodiment. If the curved state of the display panel 1 is, for example, about R2000 (radius 2000 mm) due to the weight of the display panel 1 when the suction pad 2 is sucked and lifted to the center of the display panel 1, the mounting unit 10 is preliminarily set. The first mounting portions 11 and 12 are adjusted so that the curved state is about R2000. Note that the degree of curvature of the display panel 1 can be finely adjusted by changing the suction position of the suction pad 2.
Then, as shown in FIG. 4, the display panel 1 sucked by the suction pad 2 is placed on the placement portion. In this case, since the first placement portions 11 and 12 are curved to the same extent as the display panel 1, the display panel 1 can be placed without any stress acting on the display panel 1. Thereafter, the display panel 1 is fixed to the mounting unit 10 with the brackets 20 and 21, and the suction pad 2 is removed.
FIG. 5 is an explanatory view showing an example in which the display panel 1 is bent into a required bending state by the mounting unit 10 of the present embodiment. As described with reference to FIG. 2, the drive shaft 19 is rotated by bringing a predetermined tool (for example, a driver) into contact with the groove 183 and transmitting a rotational force to the groove 183. In conjunction with the rotation of the drive shaft body 19, the inner shaft body 162 enters the outer cylinder shaft body 161, and the telescopic shaft body 16 becomes shorter. The telescopic shaft body 15 is also shortened at the same time as the telescopic shaft body 16 so that the first mounting portions 11 and 12 can be bent to a required state, and the display panel 1 is set to a required curved state (for example, about R500). Can do.
FIG. 6 is an explanatory view showing a state in which the attachment unit 10 of the present embodiment is attached to the backlight unit 50. In FIG. 6, the side plate 52 is omitted so that the attached state can be seen. As shown in FIG. 1, the mounting unit 10 that fixes the display panel 1 that is bent in a required bending state is inserted through a hole 121 formed in the first placement portion 11, 12, and the screw that is inserted The attachment unit 10 can be attached to the backlight unit 50 by screwing 54 into screw holes (not shown) formed in the receiving plates 521 and 531 of the side plates 52 and 53, respectively.
As shown in FIG. 6, the backlight unit 50 has a plurality of substrates 61 (three in the example of FIG. 6), and the substrate 61 facing the central portion of the display panel 1 is parallel to the bottom plate 51. The distance from the display panel 1 is set to a required value. Further, the two substrates 61 facing the both ends of the display panel 1 are inclined with respect to the bottom plate 51 in accordance with the curved state of the display panel 1 so that the distance from the display panel 1 becomes a required value. It is arranged in.
As described above, the display unit 1 in which the curved display panel 1 is incorporated is realized by attaching the mounting unit 10 to which the display panel 1 curved in a required curved state is fixed to a predetermined portion of the backlight unit 50. can do.
If the display panel 1 is removed for repair or the like, first, the mounting unit 10 is detached from the backlight unit 50 (display device) by loosening and removing the screws 54. Then, by rotating the drive shaft body 19, the inner shaft body 162 is advanced and retracted from the outer cylinder shaft body 161 to lengthen the telescopic shaft body 16. In this case, the telescopic shaft body 15 is also elongated simultaneously with the telescopic shaft body 16, and the first mounting portions 11 and 12 are brought into the state shown in FIG. 4 (substantially horizontal state), for example. Thus, the elastic deformation of the display panel 1 is released by reducing the degree of curvature of the mounting portion and returning the display panel 1 to a substantially flat shape, for example. Since the elastic deformation of the display panel 1 is released or loosened, it is possible to prevent the display panel 1 from popping and being damaged when the display panel 1 is removed from the mounting unit 10.
Also, the configurations described in the above-described embodiments can be combined with each other, and a new technical feature can be formed by combining the configurations.

The mounting unit can mount the display panel, has a rectangular opening, and can be curved to bring the mounted display panel into a required curved state. The opening corresponds to, for example, a display area of the display panel, and is provided so as not to block light from the light source unit from being irradiated on the display panel. The fixing unit fixes the display panel to the placement unit. The fixing unit can detachably fix the display panel to the mounting unit. The display panel is fixed to the placement unit by the fixing unit. The adjustment unit adjusts the degree of curvature of the placement unit. When the mounting portion is bent, the display panel mounted on the mounting portion can be bent into a required bending state according to the degree of bending of the mounting portion.
Realizing a display device in which a curved display panel is incorporated by attaching a mounting unit to which a display panel curved in a required curved state is fixed to a predetermined location (for example, a predetermined location of a backlight unit). Can do. If the display panel is to be removed for repair or the like, first, the mounting unit is removed from the display device. And the elastic deformation of a display panel is cancelled | released by reducing the curvature degree of a mounting part in an adjustment part, for example, returning a display panel to substantially planar shape. Since the elastic deformation of the display panel is released or loosened, it is possible to prevent the display panel from being flipped and damaged when the display panel is removed from the mounting portion.
In the mounting unit according to the embodiment of the present invention, the mounting portion is a belt-like plate-like body that can be bent in a predetermined direction, and a pair of first mounting portions that are disposed at an appropriate distance from each other, Each of the first placement portions includes a pair of second placement portions that connect one end portions to each other and the other end portions.
