Abstract
The invention relates to a device for generating the closing force in chamber filter presses. As illustrated in the figure, a hose ring (1) is situated between two platens (5, 6) which can be moved in relation to one another perpendicularly to the platen planes. The hose ring (1) consists of an elastomeric hose part (4) with a spiral reinforcement and two annular anchor parts (2) made of a rigid material and permanently connected to (4). The anchor parts (2) are interlockingly secured in the platens (5,6) against movement in the platen planes. The hose ring (1) and the platens (5,6) enclose the hose chamber (12). The hose ring (1) has a closed interior (13). The chambers (12) and (13) have access channels (8,9) for the working fluid. The cylinder force amounts to the sum of the forces produced by the pressure values (pK) and (pS) in the hose chamber (12) and the hose ring (13). The following pressure ratios pK > pA and pS > pK produce a cylinder force that moves the two platens away from one another (advance motion, closing of the filter press). When pK < pA and pS < pA, the cylinder force moves the platens towards one another (reverse motion, opening of the filter press). The given dependency of the cylinder force on the travel position results in a stabilization of the parallelism of the platens relative to one another. The device functions as a dual-action cylinder, the cylinder force of which is substantially less during reverse motion than during advance motion. There is no slippage between the hose and the platens. The device is cost-effective to produce and requires only a small amount of installation space in the filter press.
