Definitions
- the claimed invention relates to anatomical pillows, which are designed to support the head and reduce the pressure of the seat belt on the chest and cervical spine during long trips in cars, airplanes and other vehicles.
- Known orthopedic pillow consisting of a flat oval at the edges of the base, containing a cover with a filler in the form of many unrelated separate elements, the cover has a horseshoe shape and is made of polycathon material containing 65% cotton and 35% polyester, while as filler balls of fluff made of polyester or waste peeling buckwheat grains [Utility Model Patent RU34338, IPC A47G9 / 10, publication date 10.12.2003].
- Known orthopedic pillow containing a horseshoe-shaped protective cover and fillers, characterized in that it is equipped with a removable cartridge for fillers, divided by transverse partitions into three parts, and buckwheat husk filling the middle part of the cartridge and holofiber, or eco-liber, or polyurethane foam, or artificial "swan fluff" filling the two extreme parts of the cartridge [Utility Model Patent RU83691, IPC A47G9 / 10, publication date 06/20/2009].
- a common disadvantage of the above devices is the lack of protective elements of the chest against pressure of the seat belt, as well as insufficient fixation of the cervical spine.
- SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) As a prototype, a U-shaped neck pillow for children was chosen, containing a cover divided into a main part, which is located on the back of the neck of a sitting child, and two end parts, which are located above the chest area of the child.
- the main part can be equipped with a removable sleeve with a cooling or analgesic, and the end parts can be fastened together with fasteners to prevent the child's head from falling forward.
- the pillow is filled with polyvinyl fiber material, which makes it simultaneously soft and elastic enough to prevent the baby's head from falling forward. [Patent for invention US7536736, IPC A47G9 / 00, publication date 05/26/2009].
- the disadvantage of the prototype is that its shape does not provide comfortable seating on the vehicle due to the lack of sufficient support for the head and pain arising from uncontrolled movement of the head forward, backward and along the shoulder line caused by a sharp change in the trajectory and / or speed of the vehicle facilities.
- the end parts of the pillows of the prototype do not provide fixation of the seat belt and protect the chest and thoracic spine from the pressure of the seat belt.
- the technical problem to which the claimed device is directed is to reduce the risk of pain in the cervical and thoracic spine during transportation and placing a person on a seat in a vehicle.
- the technical result is to provide support for the cervical spine and reduce pressure on the thoracic spine during transportation and placement of a person on a seat in a vehicle.
- the U-shaped anatomical pillow contains a central, two lateral and two end parts forming an opening. Unlike the prototype, the width of the side parts is at least one diameter of the hole, while the side parts have greater rigidity than the Central and end parts. The end parts from the outer side are provided with fasteners.
- the side parts are located on the line of the shoulders, their width is at least one diameter of the hole formed by the parts of the pillow, which provides support for the head
- the lateral parts can be made in the form of chambers for inflation inside the cover, equipped with a valve for inflation.
- the side parts and the central part can be separated by partitions, while the side parts have greater rigidity than the central and end parts.
- Rigidity is understood as the ability of the side parts to resist deformation under external influence, i.e., when the head presses on the side parts, which is achieved due to the different filling density of the side parts with the filler in comparison with the central and end parts.
- an anatomical pillow filler for example, polystyrene balls, rice or buckwheat husks, camel or sheep wool, natural silk, down, feather, comfort, silicone, sintepon, holofiber, latex, polyurethane, polystyrene can be used.
- the lateral parts in the form of chambers for inflation when filling the chambers with air, they also have greater rigidity than the central part.
- the pillow bends only in the central part, while the side parts are lifted, retaining their shape, which provides support for the neck in an upright position.
- the end parts can be flat, compared with the side and central parts of the pillow, their length can be at least one diameter of the hole for the neck, which allows them to be placed under the seat belt.
- the end parts are interconnected by means of fastening elements and are intended to fix the position of the main part of the claimed anatomical pillow around the neck and to press the side parts to the neck.
- the fastening elements are designed to ensure tight connection of the end parts to each other and fasten them to the seat belt and are located on the outer side of the end parts in the form of a sling with a fastener, for example, fastex or rivet, or Velcro tape (Velcro fastener) or other means with the ability to attach to another mounting element.
- SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) flat part down regulates the level of seat belts and eliminates pressure on the cervical spine.
- the fastening elements can be additionally located in the upper part of the side parts for fixing the seat belt and are made in the form of a sling with a buckle-adjuster or fastex, or in the form of a Velcro tape, which ensures the removal of the seat belt from the neck and eliminates pressure on the cervical spine.
- the central part can be made cylindrical, which provides support for the head when bending the neck back when located on the seat of the vehicle. It can also be made in the form of a belt connecting the side parts, while supporting the position of the neck by supporting the occipital part of the head on a seat in a vehicle.
- the width of the side parts of the pillow is at least one hole diameter, which allows for sufficient support for the head along the shoulder line and to reduce the likelihood of pain in the cervical spine;
- the central part of the pillow has less rigidity than the side parts, which makes it possible to bend without deformation of the side parts;
- the end parts of the pillow are equipped with fasteners from the outer side, which makes it possible to place them under the seat belt and makes it necessary to rotate the end parts by 90 °, due to which the side parts are lifted.
- the claimed invention can be made of known materials using known means, which allows us to conclude that the claimed inventions meet the patentability criterion of "industrial applicability".
- FIG. 1 is a top view of the anatomical pillow
- FIG. 2 is a top view of the anatomical pillow, the end parts are rotated;
- FIG. 3 is a side view of the anatomical pillow
- FIG. 4 is a side view of the anatomical pillow, the end parts are rotated.
- the anatomical pillow contains a U-shaped cover, consisting of upper and lower parts cut out one pattern in such a way that when the pattern is conditionally divided into a central part 1, two side parts 2 and two end parts 3 forming an opening for the neck, the width of the side parts 2 is at least one hole diameter.
- Each end part 3 is equipped with a line 4 with fastex 5.
- the line 4 with fastex 5 is adjusted from the outer side of the end parts 3 along the seam connecting the upper and lower parts of the pillow, the lines are perpendicular to the above seam.
- Each side part 2 is equipped with an additional sling 6 with fastex 7 for threading through it a car seat belt.
- the cover is filled with filler starting from the filling of the central part 1 with syntepon and the subsequent filling of the side parts 2 and end parts 3 with polystyrene balls.
- the cover of the anatomical pillow is put on the neck.
- the end parts 3 are rotated 90 °, due to which the side parts 2 are raised above the level of the shoulders, fitting snugly to the neck and thereby providing support for the cervical spine.
- the end parts 3 are located with the flat part down, tightly fitting to the human body, and fastened together by slings 4 with fastexes 5, while the seat belts are threaded through the slings with buckles-adjusters on the side parts, and then through the slings with fastexes on the end parts.
- SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) Due to the fact that the side parts 2 are raised above the level of the shoulders, the head is prevented from overturning to the sides, and the end parts 3 prevent the head from dropping forward and soften the pressure from the seat belts.
