prior art problem to be solved

[008] In the document GB 1 1 2012 010 733 0 for application to the femur and tibia, describes a device comprising an upper plate which slides vertically on a bottom plate, the two plates provided with orthogonal shims which are caught in the notch performed the tibia. The bottom plate has lateral guides which allow sliding of the upper plate, this movement effected by an adjusting screw which is derived from lower plate. A second locking screw holds the plates in the opening for the procedure chosen. In that patent the surgical procedure consists of making the slot in the tibia, positioning and fixing the upper plate and the lower plate on both sides of the bone to effect the removal then with the drive of the adjusting screw. The coupling system of the two parts of the first plate is more difficult and unstable fixation. This increases the risk of loss of the desired correction for the operated limb; since two components must be firmly secured with each other and the bone.

[009] This patent utilizes two plates that have some drawbacks adjustment and placement, and may bring further consequences for the patient. The multi-adjustable plate, object of the present invention has only one plate, solving all drawbacks mentioned above. The plate of the present invention, only one component is fixed and remains in the bone. The opening is performed by an opening and closing apparatus which couples to the fixed plate. But after the setting wedge (opening) desired, this equipment is removed; and only a material (plate) remains fixed in the bone; removing the point of instability exist in the coupling if the two parts of the plate.

Brief description of the invention [01 1] The following describes a non restrictive preferred embodiment of this bone realignment system high control osteotomy, object of this patent, where the configuration and dimensions may be varied appropriately for each model and desired application; describing one of the constructive possibilities that lead to achieving the object described and how it works.

[012] The bone realignment system high control, object of the present invention, it is a set composed of a single plate (1) and an opening device (5), the plate having pads (2) proximal, and a central groove (3) to be covered by the shims (4) of the opening device (5) comprising blocks (4), and which functions as such a vise, applying an axial force to the bone, to open a bone wedge, that by having the adjusting screw (6) driven promotes movement between the wedges (2 and 4) to the desired angle in the notch held in the bone.

Description of the invention

[013] More precisely bone realignment high control system, object of the present invention, it is a set of multi -Adjustable plate through an opening device (5) with the plate to the osteotomy configured by a single board (1) with at least one holder (2) proximal wedge, which works associated with the opening device (5) with continuous linear slide mechanism, also provided with at least one support (4) wedge which slides the central slot (3) of said sole plate (1) by actuating an adjusting screw (6), applying an axial force in the bone thereby removing and / or closing the distance between the skids (2 and 4) so continues slider applying a force on the wedges, which can be regulated by means of a slit (7) millimeter that along a guide (8) located in the body (9) of the opening device (5) which also comprises a fastening means (10) to the sole plate (1), the Quality l allows a range according to the bonesize and / or medical indication openings ranging from at least 0 to 20 mm. The sole plate (1) conforms a splice joining and has at least two wedges (2) on the proximal wedge in its upper third, than the central slot (3) and holes for fixing (1 1) permanent to the bone, and the most extreme upper hole also serves for the fixing means of movable connection (10) of the opening device (5).

[014] Where the bone screws (10,12) with or without a locking mechanism can be applied to movable side plate in the final position alignment according to the planning, navigation or control operation.

[015] Opening device (5) has the same principle of operation of a vise, being formed by a body (9) having a tab (8) covered by a strip (7) millimeter, at whose end is located at least one support (4) movable wedge, which can move with the drive of the adjusting screw (6) transpassante the body (9), from which derives the attachment means (10) to the plate (1), comprising a pin (12) compatible with the threaded hole of the upper plate.

[016] The procedure for placing the multi-adjustable plate comprises femur sense / tibia, the prior fixing of the upper side of the sole plate (1) in the notch made in the tibia by means of wedges in wedge (2) fixed in the bone, and opening device connection (5) with supports (4) inserted in the central slot (3) at a dimension that provides alignment with the chocks (2), allowing an axial force applied to the bone, bone to open a wedge. Then, adjustment screw (6) is rotated in order to drive away the mobile wedges (4) wedge of fixed chocks (2) wedge into the desired aperture boundary, moving the wedges so as to apply a force on the same, that the desired distance away. Used in which is fixed the bottom of the single piece plate (1) removed from the opening device (5) and supplemented fixation with positioning and tightening of bolts in the holes (1 1) to the bones, which screws to the bone they can be applied without removing the opening device.

[017] Thus, the bone realignment system high control of the present invention the object includes the use of a single plate (1) associated with a slider opening device (5) in a central position of said sole plate, having proximal wedges such that the wedges of the opening device which, as already mentioned, sliding on the central position thereof, so that, by turning the adjusting screw (6) of said opening device promotes a separation of the wedges (2 , 4) to achieve the desired final angle notch in the bone. The opening device has the operation principle of a vise, but with only one cheek represented by a sliding support in millimeter ruler containing indicated in millimeters or inches, which indicates the distance between the wedges, which is equivalent to opening the wedges and it can be used for measuring alignment, since the distance is equivalent to the bone correction angle. The support sliding position takes in millimeter ruler in a guide opening in the body of the device, which also comprises the adjustment screw and the means of fixing the sole plate.

[018] In bone realignment system high control, object of the present invention, the plate (1) and opening means (5) are joined by means of positive / non-positive connection before surgery, and are disconnected after the completion of opening and clamping plate. Both components have pads on one or two numbers in each component depending on the site of use. The board pads are fixed, while the opening device are movable. These pads adhere to the bone and allow to apply axial force against the bone to promote aperture, thus setting up a wedge into the bone, whose angular aperture promote bone alignment.

[019] The system is an active part of the bone realignment. The slider opening mechanism may be on the board, on a single plane, or on a different plane of the plate to meet different technical requirements and access roads. The opening device has a safety lock that prevents inadvertent closure of the wedge during the opening operation. However, the wedge can be closed (reduced) is voluntarily triggering the opening slide mechanism in the reverse direction.

[020] The opening device has graduation in millimeters or inches to indicate the distance of the spacers, which equals x opening wedge. The opening of the shims can be used to measure alignment as the distance x is equivalent to bone repair. The system allows a correction range suitable for the bone size and need of medical indications, for example 0 to 20 mm in the case of knee osteotomies.

[021] The plate should be fixed above and below the bone cut. The number of holes available for fixation depends on the place of use of the card. The fixation plate the bone screws can be made with or without a locking mechanism, since the holes can be threaded or not. One end of the fixed board can be started before the opening of the wedge, which provides greater security for this step. It is noteworthy that for this it is not necessary to disconnect the instrument board.

[022] After reaching the final position desired correction and bone alignment, fixed to the other end of the plate. After finished setting plate, the opening device can be disconnected without altering the flap position and alignment achieved. It is added that the fixed part of the system can be geared to the distal or proximal according to medical necessity bone, with no hindrance by the system to limit its orientation (Figure 1).

[023] Also in regard to the refinement of bone correction, the system not only allows the use of navigation, and provides its full operability and efficiency, since the opening of the bone is continuous and millimeter.

Advantages

[024] Thus, the bone realignment system high control, object of the present invention as described above presents a new and unique configuration that it sets great advantages over the devices, boards, and elements for osteotomy currently used and found in the Marketplace. Among these advantages may be mentioned: higher stability to perform bone repair during the opening of the wedge and clamping after completion of the procedure; the fact of presenting only one component that is fixed and remains in the bone, which eliminates the existing instability point in the parts interface, when using two cards, or other devices; the fact that after allowing the setting wedge (desired end angle), the opening device is only removed once the remaining plate; provide reduced time of surgery; and greater precision with the graph opening system. Besides the advantages of providing greater stability to perform bone repair during the opening of the wedge, more precisely, and correction of the reduction of risk of loss. [025] Thus, the design features and operation described above, one can clearly notice that the SYSTEM TENSE CONTROL HIGH-BONE, it is a new device for the State of the Art, which is of conditions innovation, inventiveness and unprecedented industrialization, they do deserve the privilege of Patent.
