Definitions
- the present invention relates to a compressor comprising, used in cooling devices, comprising a suction muffler that minimizes the noise generated during the cycling of the refrigerant fluid in the refrigeration cycle and the connection thereof to the cylinder.
- a suction muffler which provides coming of the cooling fluid used to provide cooling to the cylinder region without getting heated and suppression of the noise that may originate from the cooling fluid is used.
- the suction muffler is generally made of plastic material and disposed on the cylinder head or between the cylinder head and the valve table. Sucked cooling fluid passes through the suction muffler of which the part making up the suction manifold is disposed within the cylinder head before reaching the cylinder. During this process, the resulting noise must be tried to be minimized and at the same time thermodynamic efficiency improved. However, heat transfer occurs in the sections where the cylinder head and the suction muffler combine in such amount that may affect the thermodynamic cycle.
- the cylinder head is manufactured as a single piece and some part of the cylinder head comes into contact with surfaces of the suction muffler that make up the chamber of it. It is observed, however, in the compressors that the suction muffler head becomes loose and move in the gap of the cylinder head over the time. This is caused by wearing of the pins on the suction muffler head during mounting or operation. As a result of this, the contact between the suction muffler head and the valve table is interrupted.
- a spring is used to prevent the contact between the suction muffler and the valve table.
- the task of the spring is to transfer the pressure force from the cylinder head to the suction muffler.
- the suction muffler is pressed towards the valve table and refrigerant fluid leaks that may occur while the refrigerant fluid passes through the suction muffler and moves towards the suction port on the valve table are prevented.
- the said spring is mounted reversely. In this case the spring cannot apply the desired amount of pressure onto the suction muffler and causes refrigerant fluid leak from the suction muffler.
- the refrigerant fluid leaks cause decrease in refrigeration performance of the compressor and thus in the efficiency.
- the protrusions formed on the sides of the spring and the recesses formed on the cylinder head so as to correspond to the said protrusions are provided asymmetrically.
- the aim of the present invention is the realization of a compressor wherein a full contact is provided between the suction muffler and the valve table.
- the compressor realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a spring that is disposed between the suction muffler and the cylinder head and a protrusion that is disposed on the spring and that extends under the cylinder head when mounted properly and that, when mounted inversely, bears against the suction muffler and prevents the suction muffler from being properly installed to the cylinder head.
- the compressor comprises one or more than one protrusion bent at an angle up to 90 degrees at the lower end of the spring.
- the protrusion does not prevent the mounting of the suction muffler to the cylinder head.
- the protrusion disposed at the lower end of the spring hits the surface of the suction muffler and prevents the suction muffler from being properly seated to the cylinder head.
- the mounting process cannot continue with the spring being inversely mounted to the cylinder head. By preventing this error, the refrigerant fluid leaks are eliminated and the refrigeration performance and the efficiency of the compressor are prevented from decreasing.

- Figure 2 – is the exploded view of the suction muffler, the cylinder head and the spring.

- Figure 4 – is the cross-sectional view of the suction muffler, the cylinder head and the spring when the spring is mounted in the second direction.
- the compressor (1) comprises a motor (2) consisting of two main parts, a stator (3) and a rotor (4); a cylinder (5) providing the pumping of the refrigerant fluid; a cylinder head (6) that is disposed on the cylinder (5) and that provides the circulation of the refrigerant fluid at low and high pressure; a valve table (10) that provides the intake of the refrigerant fluid at low pressure to the cylinder (5) and provides the transmission of the refrigerant fluid at high pressure to the cylinder head (6); a suction muffler (7) that is disposed on the cylinder head (6), that enables the refrigerant fluid to reach the cylinder (5) without getting heated up and that minimizes the noise; a suction muffler head (8) that enables the suction muffler (7) to be mounted to the cylinder head (6); a spring (9) that is disposed between the suction muffler (7) and the cylinder head (6), and a protrusion (11)
- the spring (9) is disposed between the suction muffler (7) and the cylinder head (6).
- the protrusion (11) extends under the cylinder head (6) so that the end thereof remains free. In this case, the protrusion (11) does not prevent the suction muffler (7) from being completely seated to the cylinder head (6) and the mounting process continues properly.
- the spring (9) is mounted in the second direction, the protrusion (11) extends towards the suction muffler (7) and the end thereof bears against the suction muffler (7). In this case, the protrusion (11) prevents the suction muffler (7) from being completely seated to the cylinder head (6) and the mounting process from continuing.
- the spring (9) comprises a base (15), a first arm (12) and a second arm (13) that extend in an inclined manner from both sides of the base (15).
- the spring (9) comprises a first support extension (14) that is formed by cutting out the first arm (12) and that extends in the same plane as the base (15) and a second support extension (16) that is arranged at the other end of the second arm (13), that surrounds the second arm (13) and that extends parallel to the base (15).
- the protrusion (11) extends outwards from the second support extension (16) preferably at 90 degrees ( Figure 2).
- the base (15) and the first support extension (14) bear against the suction muffler (7)
- the second support extension (16) bears against the cylinder head (6) while the first arm (12) and the second arm (13) extend from the base (15) towards the cylinder head (6).
- the protrusion (11) extends under the cylinder head (6) so that the end thereof remains free. In this case, the protrusion (11) does not prevent the suction muffler (7) from being completely seated to the cylinder head (6) and does not pose any obstacle against the continuation of the mounting process of the compressor (1) ( Figure 3).
