This causes the stop signal 36 to go high, which sets the output of the second AND gate 22 to logic low regardless of the value of the clock signal 38 coming from the first AND gate 20, thus preventing any further counting by the counter 24.
  • the count comparator 26 then compares the count value from the counter output 42 to the lower and upper thresholds 44, 46. If the count value 42 is between the thresholds 44, 46, the output 48 of the count comparator 26 is set to logic high. This indicates that the count value reached corresponds to the frequency of the induced voltage in the antenna 8 an NFC frequency. Providing the stop signal 36 and the count comparator output 48 are both high, the third AND gate 28 produces a logic high on its output 50, indicating that an NFC field of the proper strength and frequency has been picked up by the antenna 8 and that NFC communications may now be carried out.
  • the period T is set during design by the choice of components - e.g. the resistor and capacitor values used in an RC ramp generator implementation and the value of the threshold voltage.

  • T must be a fixed value for correct operation of the device, R and C must be calibrated such that ⁇ is approximately equal to T. This calibration may be carried out either during the production of the frequency detector, in use (e.g. periodically), or both. It should be understood however, that T need not be exactly equal to ⁇ as the ramp voltage 32 is relatively linear up to and around that point - i.e. the threshold voltage 34 need not be exactly the voltage the ramp voltage 32 reaches after a single time constant ⁇ has elapsed.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif électronique qui comprend : un détecteur d'intensité de champ (14) connecté à une antenne (8), le détecteur d'intensité de champ (14) étant agencé pour déterminer une force d'un champ magnétique induit dans l'antenne (8) et générer un premier signal d'activation (30) si la force déterminée dépasse un seuil ; un détecteur de fréquence de champ (6) agencé afin : de déterminer lors de la réception du signal d'activation si une fréquence du champ magnétique induit est dans une plage prédéterminée ; et de générer un second signal d'activation si la fréquence se situe dans ladite plage prédéterminée ; et un module de communication en champ proche conçu afin de transmettre et/ou recevoir un message de communication en champ proche lors de la réception du second signal d'activation.
