Definitions

  • the invention relates to a novelty performed in dryer buckets inside the vertical dryers used in asphalt manufacture plants.
  • the vertical dryers are used for a number of purposes, particularly in asphalt manufacture plants. Vertical dryers are used for processes such as drying asphalt pavement materials (aggregates) and recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) materials.
  • Vertical dryers basically operate according to the principle that the dryer buckets, which have overturning movements and which are arranged on the horizontal axis from top to bottom in a zigzag manner inside the vertical dryer body, carry the material from top to bottom and that the heat obtained from a variety of heat sources circulates on the buckets.
  • This operation principle renders the dryer buckets as the most important element of the vertical dyers.
  • the aggregate In order to provide a high quality asphalt manufacture and to avoid energy losses in the asphalt manufacture plants, the aggregate should have the optimum dryness level. The most ideal method for this is to extend the heat contact surfaces.
  • the dryer buckets play a critical role in extending the heat contact surfaces.

  • Such dryer buckets used in vertical dryers known in state of art are designed such that each bucket consists of one chamber.
  • the heat contact surface is limited; therefore this requires an increase in the heat and energy wasted in order to dry the aggregate at the desired level.

Meanwhile, the twisting sections (217) inside the bucket chambers (21) prevent the material from leaking into the vertical dryers through the bucket chambers (21).
