[0016] The present Invention provides a fast-paced, exciting and rewarding game where players compete against one another in a test of speed, memory, recognition, shapes, puzzles and colours. It is a social game promoting physical game play which anyone of any age can quickly get hooked on, as well as encouraging many mental skills such as pairing, matching, memory and hand-eye coordination.
[0017] In an aspect of the Invention, the game promotes geometrical concepts, motivation, focus, winning attitude, ranking and a sense of achievement. The game helps young ones as well as adults learn to handle pressure and stay calm and focused in the early years of their life.
[0018] In a preferred aspect of the present Invention, there is provided an entertainment game, useful for improving the mental skills of players. The game comprises: a) a set of atleast 36 assorted master cards showing a specific shape and colour that needs to be found in each round of said game and the master card set is made of 9 unique shapes in 4 colours variations, which are comprising of blue, green, red and yellow colour; b) atleast 2 sets of 36 coloured shape pieces, each set to be arranged in a centre tray for each of the player, and the shape pieces' set are made of 9 unique shapes in 4 colours variations, which are comprising of blue, green, red and yellow colour; while on the other side of all the shape pieces, they have a standard colour of white, it is done so as to not reveal the 4 colour variations when kept faced down; c) atleast 36 star tokens for the entire game, which are to be used in every round of game play and achieved by one or the other player, where each set of 36 star tokens are made of 9 pieces in 4 colours relating to the four colours in the shapes pieces set, master cards and collector tray, which are comprising of blue, green, red and yellow colour; d) atleast 2 collector trays comprising slots of assorted shapes with colour codes specifically matching to that of said colour of the shape pieces set, master cards and star tokens; e) atleast 1 buzzer; f) optional 14 Add on cards for an advanced level of said game wherein said card shows multiple shapes on each cards; multiple shapes cards require players to find multiple shapes during a single round and also collect multiple matching coloured star token. g) award stars and medals for Victory
[0019] In an embodiment, atleast 2 players compete against each other to find a specific shape and colour combination as displayed in said master cards and said centre tray and matching it to the correct shape and colour of said collector's tray and press the buzzer to win the round and collect the said master card matching colour said star token or multiple star token if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards, this action of collecting the star token can be done before or after pressing the said buzzer depending on the advanced level of the game play.
[0020] The player with most stars in the end of all rounds wins said award for the victory of the game. [0021] In an embodiment, the advanced level players collect star token before hitting said buzzer.
[0022] In another embodiment of the Invention, players compete against each other to find specific shape and colour combinations from an assortment of geometrical shapes before their opponent and add it to their collection to win 'Witty Stars' awards and medals. The player with the most stars tokens at the end of the game is the winner.
[0023] In another embodiment of the present invention, the game comprises following components: • 36 Cards (showing the correct shape and colour of piece to find in each round of the game). • 14 Add-on cards (showing multiple shapes on each cards- these are for advanced levels games). Multiple shapes cards require players to find multiple shapes during a single round and also collect multiple matching coloured star token.
• 2 Sets of 36 Coloured Shape pieces (1 set per player, scattered faced down by opponents in the centre trays).
• Minimum 36 Star tokens (for every round of play, in each game).
• 2 Centre Trays (1 per player) and 2 Collector's tray (1 per player).
• 20 Witty Star Tokens (awarded for Victory in each game) and 10 x Medals (for Challenge matches).
• 1 Buzzer.
[0024] In another embodiment, the awards comprise of star tokens for each game round, witty stars and ranking medals as awards.
[0025] The player with most star tokens at the end of all rounds in said game wins where said winner is awarded 1 Witty Star award while for every 3 Witty Star awards said player can swap 3 Witty Star awards for a medal in order of progression from "Snappy Wits" to "Witty Champ", to "Witty Master", to "Witty Power", to "King of Wits".
[0026] In another aspect of the Invention, there is provided a method of playing game comprising the following essential steps: a) each player sorts one set of 36 coloured shape pieces and scatters them in the other player's centre tray with the coloured side down and then swaps trays; b) the players shuffle the assorted master cards and randomly flip a top card showing one or multiple shapes and colour on it, this shape and colour then needs to be found in each round of said game in said centre trays where in the case of finding successful matching shape and colour piece or multiple pieces if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards, the player places said piece(s) to said collector's tray by identifying the correct place of the matching shape and colour and thereafter depending on the advance level of gameplay the said player collects the said master card matching colour said star token or multiple star token if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards, this action of collecting the star token can be done before or after pressing the said buzzer depending on the advanced level of the game play.
[0027] In an embodiment, the player search their centre trays for finding one or multiple shapes and respective colour as displayed in said flipped card by first identifying the right shape(s) in their pile followed by turning it to check the specific colour matching to said flipped card, where in the case of finding successful matching shape and colour piece or multiple pieces if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards, said player places said piece(s) to said collector's tray by identifying the correct place of the matching shape and colour, thereafter depending on the advance level of game play, the said player collects the said master card matching colour said star token or multiple star token if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards, this action of collecting the star token can be done before or after pressing the said buzzer depending on the advanced level of the game play.
[0028] In another embodiment, the winning player of a round of the game collects star token matching the colour of said master card flipped in a round and the shape piece picked from the centre tray where the step of awarding/ collecting stars for each round can precede step of hitting said buzzer where the player is also required to collect the said colour of correct star token matching the colour of the shape of that specific round and wherein said player having the most stars' token at the end of the game wins and collect a victory award to rank for achievement medals.
[0029] In another embodiment, the player is awarded the reward star only when the process is correctly followed, wherein all the shapes in the Centre tray except the found shape are correctly kept coloured side face down and the right shape is placed on the correct space on said collector's tray.
[0030] In another embodiment, the player finds an incorrect shape and buzzer is not used, then the game continues until the correct shape is found where if the player uses the buzzer incorrectly then the player had made a fault while the other player wins the round and thereby finding the correct shape and colour and placing it in their tray and collecting the correct star token(s).
[0031] In another embodiment, in each round the next card is turned over and the game continues until there are no more cards left to turn over.
[0032] In another embodiment, the game can be modified to advanced level by following way:
[0033] To increase difficulty level of the game, the player collects both the correct shapes & coloured stars (before hitting the buzzer).
[0034] At the start of the game, remove 4-8 random shapes pieces from the opponents "Centre Tray" to keep players guessing the missing shape pieces in game.
[0035] At the start of the game, slip in the top 4-5 opened cards back into the closed deck during game play to make it more exciting & test memory recall.
[0036] Introduce the 14 Add-on cards that show multiple shapes on each cards. Player can choose to discard the duplicate individual (single) shape cards and to play the fast paced game. Multiple shapes cards require players to find multiple shapes during a single round and also collect multiple matching coloured star token.
[0037] Or just play along with all the 50 cards to the end until one player wins and when no more shapes are left in their centre tray and all options are maxed out.
[0038] Rules for Young Vs Older players: When there is a large age difference in players, it is recommended that the young ones play with more relaxed rules. For example, the younger player could aim to collect the shapes and then hit the Buzzer before collecting the star token, while the older player collects the Shape and Star token and then hits the buzzer. (Hiding away some shapes and adding used up cards back into the deck can also be added to the mix). Increase the complexity of the rules accordingly, to cater for multiple ages and experienced players.
[0039] If needed for Young players, start off with fewer shapes in the tray- for example 3-5 shapes of each colour and gradually increase the pace by adding more shapes, card variations, star tokens, hiding shapes and adding burnt cards back into the deck.
[0040] The Invention is further described with the help of non-limiting Example of method of playing the game where the player performs following steps:
1. [0041] Sort the coloured shapes so that each player has their own set of differently unique shapes with colours- none of the shapes in any one set should be the exact same geometrical design and colour.
2. [0042] Each player scatters one set of shapes in their opponent's tray, with the coloured side face down, and then swaps trays.
3. [0043] Shuffle the cards and place them facedown near the Centre trays. Then turn the top card over to start the game.
4. [0044] Both players must search their own Centre tray of shapes to find the exact shape and colour (multiple shapes and colour if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards) shown on the card, by firstly identifying the right shape(s) in their pile and then turning the piece over to see if it is the correct shape and colour. If a player turns over a shape and it is not the right colour, it must be placed coloured side down again. This applies for all shapes in the player's own Centre tray. At the same time, players must try to remember the location of unwanted shapes from that round, as this may be useful in the next round.
5. [0045] If the player turns over a shape and it is the right colour, they must proceed to place that piece in their Collector's tray by identifying the correct place of the matching shape and colour (multiple shapes and colour if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards). They must then quickly press their buzzer. 6. [0046] If the player that presses the buzzer has found the right shape(s) and colour(s), and all the shapes in their Centre tray- except for the one they have found- are coloured side face down, are the right shape and placed on the correct space on their Collector's tray, they take a star (multiple stars if playing with advanced level 14 add-on cards) of the same colour as the shape they took in that round.
7. [0047] If they followed the above process correctly, but there is another shape in the tray that has not been turned back over, or if the correct pieces are not stacked in the correct place, then they do not get a star for that round. The opponent can progress to find the correct shape and hit the buzzer accordingly. (Alternatively for strict play, the player could also penalize the opponent who hit the buzzer wrongly by putting one of their stars back in the game)
8. [0048] If the shape is incorrect and the buzzer is not used, then play continues until the correct shape is found.
9. [0049] The player that did not find the shape can still remove it from their tray in any of the other rounds in the games at the expense of time, but does not receive a star. Note: the round of searching for the correct shape stops once the buzzer is used correctly. (Alternatively for easy play, the losing player gets to remove the unfound shape at each round to play at equal advantage on next round.)
10. [0050] The next card is turned over and the game continues until there are no more cards left to turn over.
11. [0051] Whoever has the most stars at the end of the game wins; they get 1 Witty Star, and if they have a minimum of 3 Witty Stars, they can swap 3 Witty Stars for a medal! In order to progress from "Snappy Wits", to "Witty Champ", to "Witty Master", to "Witty Power", to "King of Wits" players must continue to win games.
[0052] The foregoing description of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept and therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the embodiments as described herein.
