Abstract

The process of heat sealing of the packaging machines currently provides the use of a double belt strips made of fabric made of glass fiber and coated with PTFE within which slide, on a conveyor belt, boxes and parcels coated PVC film that are heat-sealed by means of sealing bars, which operate with a working temperature from 250 to 350 degrees centigrade, placed between the tape and the parcels or boxes. The present invention relates to a device that uses a tape realized with a fabric of carbon fiber coated with PTFE (Teflon) and with a border reinforcement for sliding guide on both edges of which can be either in silicone fabric of aramid (kevlar) or glass fiber. The use of carbon fiber in the realization of the tape coated with a layer of PTFE (teflon) produces significant benefits in terms of energy savings, longer life and less downtime of packaging machines for replacement.

Description

DESCRIPTION
of international patent application according to the procedures of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) for the invention which has the title:
"Laminated tape in composite materials for sealing bars of
packaging machines"
Background art:
The process of heat sealing of the packaging machines currently provides the use of a double belt tapes made of fabric made of glass fiber and coated with PTFE within which slide, on a conveyor belt, boxes and parcels coated PVC film that are heat-sealed by means of sealing bars, which operate with a working temperature from 250 to 350 degrees centigrade, placed between the tape and the parts of the package or boxes that must be heat-sealed for the packaging of the products.
Machining cycles are very high, the scrolling speed is fast and the use of tapes in many cases is continuously 24h / 7.
Because of the temperature, of the continuity of use of the work cycles and the resistance to sliding of the boxes or envelopes the tapes are currently subject to a rapid process of wear and / or rupture to which the pair of belts must be replaced frequently with consequent long machine downtimes needed for replacement of the tapes with new supplies.
Disclosure of invention:
The present invention applies mainly in the industry of packaging machines (tissue) and relates to a device that uses a double belt tape realized for the first time with a fabric of carbon fiber coated with PTFE (Teflon) and with a border reinforcement for sliding guide on both edges of which can be either silicone that fabric of aramid (kevlar) or glass fiber.
The use of carbon fiber in the realization of the tape coated with a layer of PTFE (teflon) produces the following advantages:
1 ) Since the carbon fiber conductive, at the same conditions (thickness) compared to the glass fiber normally used which instead has insulating properties, to achieve the same soldering temperature requires a lower energy absorption;
2) The heating times are faster;
3) The tape wear is less and the duration is longer;
4) The minor replacements (downtime) significantly increase uptime of packaging machines.
In the light of article. 45 paragraph 1 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 30/2005 "can be patented achievements of products which involve an inventive step and are capable of industrial application.
To be considered patentable, an invention must have the following characteristics:
news,
• inventive,
• description,
industrial applicability,
legality
In particular:
News: This is an application (the tape) made of composite materials (carbon fiber, aramid fiber, glass fiber and silicone) never used before.
The support carbon fiber has a thickness ranging from 0.16 to 0.22 mm. The cover of the tape coated with PTFE (Teflon) increases the thickness of the ribbon of about 0.06 to 0.08 mm.
The measurement of the thickness of the finished tape will vary from 0.22 to 0.30 mm.
Inventive:
The identification of the material and the characteristics of the material used as well as the combination with other components (silicone and aramid fiber or glass fiber) is the result of a search long and complex which required several tests and acceptance tests both in laboratory and in working environment.
Industrial applicability:
The tape is achievable under normal, appropriate and tested industrialization processes.
Brief description of drawings:
The present invention is hereinafter further clarified and described in a preferred form of practical embodiment shown purely for example and not of limitation with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 shows the positioning of the two belts within which to operate the sealing bars and the tape feeder on which glide packs and boxes.
Lawfulness:
The realization of the tape is perfectly legal. The present invention has been illustrated and described in a preferred embodiment, but it is understood that executive variants may in practice apportarsi to it, without leaving the scope of protection of the present patent for industrial invention.

Claims

CLAIMS of international patent application according to the procedures of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) for the invention which has the title: "Laminated tape in composite materials for sealing bars of packaging machines"
1. Tape device in composite materials for machines for packaging of the tissue field characterized in that it is made with a fabric of carbon fiber coated with a layer of PTFE (Teflon)
2. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the strength and durability of the tape is increased by the fact that the sliding on the guides is facilitated by a reinforcing edge of silicone or aramid fiber or glass fiber.
3. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the carbon fiber is a conductive material and therefore reduces the magnetic fields which can arise with the movement of the tape.
