Abstract
The device for abdominal muscles training in a lying position has the form of an elastic profiled moulding, preferably made of plastic, constituting a pad for the lumbar and thoracic sections of the spine. The moulding, symmetric with respect to the longitudinal axis, has a part (1) arched upwards, becoming a flat part (2). The shape of the bending is asymmetric in such a way that the climb angle (a) is larger than the fall angle (β). In the bent part (1) of the moulding there is a cut (4) along the symmetry axis. The bent part (1) of the moulding, through a narrowing (3) becomes a flat rounded part (2), which has a set of asymmetric cuts (6) with respect to the longitudinal axis, preferably three pairs of cuts (6) in an arrangement corresponding to the abdominal muscles and in the shape similar to the outline of those muscles. The bent part (1) has an edge (5) folded outwards, supported on the ground.
Description
Abdominal Muscles Training Device
The subject of this invention is a device for abdominal muscles training in a lying position designed to be used in the prevention and treatment of spinal afflictions as a portable device used in home and office conditions.
Because of the progressing diseases of affluence associated with the sedentary lifestyle and incorrect posture, a special significance has prevention consisting of regular muscle training, especially of abdominal muscles in order to ensure physiological functions of spine and to maintain correct posture.
There are portable and stationary devices for abdominal muscles training known.
From the patent PL 1S9039 a device for abdominal and back muscles training is known, equipped with the basis and seat with swinging support. Handles are fixed to the swinging support with the use of ball-and-socket joints. The support is composed of two longitudinal elements joined by a crossbar and a flat back support. The training person makes movements in a sitting position with legs stretched forward, keeping hands stretched
up and rested on the handles fixed to the swinging seat. The support is put into swinging motion around its own axis. The training person attains a straight position in nearly all sections of the spine.
From the application for registration of the utility model W.105549 a device for abdominal muscles equipped with a rubber tension is known. The device is composed of a guide pipe ended at the bottom by a compression socket, and on the other side by a rubber tension socket. On the guide there is a sliding connector of two transverse pipe arms which constitute handles for the training person's hands. The ends of the rubber tension are connected through hooks with the ends of the transverse arms. During training abdominal muscles are pressed due to which they are strained and strengthened.
In accordance with this invention the device for abdominal muscles training in a lying position has the form of an elastic profiled moulding, preferably made of plastic, constituting a pad under the lumbar and thoracic sections of the spine. The moulding, symmetric with respect to the longitudinal axis, has a part arched upwards, through a narrowing becoming a flat part. The shape of the bending is asymmetric in such a way that the climb angle is larger than the fall angle. The bent part of the moulding has a cut along the symmetry axis and an edge folded outwards, supported on the ground. The thickness of the bent part is larger than the thickness of the flat part, preferably in the proportion 5:3.
In turn, flat part with rounded shape has a set of symmetric cuts with respect to the longitudinal axis, preferably three pairs of cuts in an arrangement corresponding to abdominal muscles and in the shape similar to the outline of those muscles.
Besides, all edges of the moulding are rounded and its flat part has a hole for device hanging. The device according to this invention is characterized by small dimensions and small weight, due to which it is easy to be carried from place to place and can be used in apartments, offices, sport facilities by persons with various constitution, height, and at various ages. Due to the shaping of the bent part and the elastic properties of the device, during training the lordosis is not entirely canceled and the antagonistic abdominal muscles relax. Movement in lumbar section favors nourishment of disks and general relaxation of interarticularis areas.
Exercises made on this device effectively strengthen abdominal muscles, stabilize correct posture, favor relief of the lumbar section. Additionally, exercises made on this device reduce and remove entirely back pain.
This invention is explained in more detail on the example of performance and on the drawing in which fig. 1 presents the device visible from the top, fig. 2 - the device visible from the side, and fig. 3 - the device in a axonometri'c view.
In accordance with the drawing, the device for abdominal muscies training has the form of an elastic profiled moulding, preferably made of plastic, constituting a pad under the lumbar and thoracic sections of the spine. The moulding, symmetric with respect to the longitudinal axis, has a part (1) arched upwards, becoming a flat part (2) through a narrowing (3). The shape of the bending is asymmetric in such a way that the climb angle (a) is larger than the fall angle (β). The bent part (1) of the moulding has a cut (4) along the symmetry axis and an edge (5) folded outwards, supported on the ground. The thickness (dj of the bent part (1) is larger than the thickness (d2) of the flat part (2), preferably in the proportion 5:3.
In turn, flat part (2) with rounded shape has a set of symmetric cuts (6) with respect to the longitudinal axis, preferably three pairs of cuts (6} in an arrangement corresponding to abdominal muscles and in the shape similar to the outline of those muscles.
Besides, all edges of the moulding are rounded and its flat part (2) has a hole (7) for device hanging.
The devices is destined for persons with body weight up to 110 kg.
The training person lies down on the device in such a way that the bent part (1) of the moulding is under the lumbar section and the back is placed on the flat part (2). Exercises are made in that position, straining abdominal muscles from the chest. The pelvis during exercises does not participate and remains immobile. Exercises on the device are made regularly in defined cycles.
