Description

AN ARMREST CONSTRUCT FOR VEHICLES
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an armrest construct against which a user leans his/her arm for a comfortable drive, which has an adjustable characteristic and is used for vehicle seats.
State of the Art
Today, armrests are used in vehicles in order to allow drivers and passengers to lean their arms and also to improve travelling comfort. In the state of the art, in the case of vehicle moving there may be difficulties in use since it is possible for an adjusting part used in the mechanism to be free while the armrest mounted on the seat is in vertical position.
In the literature review there has been found similar applications relating to armrest constructs against which a user leans his/her arm for a comfortable drive and which is used for vehicle seats. Utility model with application number TR 2012/12954 is an armrest mechanism which includes a cam provided on a carriage group which moves an armrest construct used in the seats between a closed position and a support position, and a guide opening which is associated with a handle group to guide cam movement; characterized in that said cam comprises an end portion provided opposite two corners thereof in order to be associated with a support region on the guide opening in the support position; at least two resting edges; and an oval portion extending between said resting edges.
Utility model with application number TR 2013/15175 is an armrest mechanism with a tablet which includes a cover used in passenger seats; a plate located in said cover; a tablet placed in a tablet recess defined between said plate and a side wall in order to be used for tables, etc.; and a hinge which is associated with said tablet and connected to the plate; characterized in that it comprises a guide channel which defines the advancement direction during removal of tablet from the recess thereof and placing back the same and which is shaped in the form of a spring; a knob which is provided on the tablet and is placed into the guide channel; and a piston which is connected to said knob on one end thereof and is connected to said plate on the other end thereof. As a consequence developments for armrest mechanisms against which a user leans his/her arm for a comfortable drive and which are used in vehicle seats are carried out, thus there is need for novel constructs in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks and to provide solutions for the existing systems.
The Object of the Invention
The present invention relates to an armrest construct against which a user leans his/her arm for a comfortable drive, which has an adjustable characteristic and is used for vehicle seats.
The primary object of the invention is to provide an armrest construct which can be readily mounted on a seat.
Another object of the invention is to lower the weight of the armrest construct.
An object of the invention is to provide easy access of an adjusting part which adjusts the height of the armrest construct.
A further object of the invention is to enhance the strength of the armrest bracket.
In order to achieve the above-mentioned objects the armrest construct of the invention comprises an adjusting part that adjusts the height of the armrest construct by moving an adjusting spindle; an adjusting spindle that moves an adjusting bolt by movement from the adjustment part; and an adjusting bolt that moves the armrest construct in a vertical axis by movement from the adjusting spindle.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The present invention relates to an armrest construct (A) against which a user leans his/her arm for a comfortable drive, which has an adjustable characteristic and is used for vehicle seats (120). As seen in Figure 1 the armrest construct (A) of the invention comprises a lower cover (20) forming the body of the armrest construct (A). An armrest bracket (10) which fastens the seat (120) and the armrest construct (A) to each other is fixed on the lower cover (20). There is a fixing hole (1 1 ) on the armrest bracket (10) for fixing of the armrest bracket (10) of the adjusting bolt (100) onto the lower cover (20). There is an armrest bracket recess (21 ) on the lower cover (20), by means of which the armrest bracket (10) is placed onto the lower cover (20). There is at least one screw socket (22) which provides fixing of the lower cover (20) and the upper cover (70) to each other.
As seen in Figure 2 there is at least one adjusting spindle recess (23) on the lower cover (20) for fixing of the adjusting spindle (50) into the lower cover (20). There is a connection slot (24) above the adjusting spindle recess (23), which provides fixing of the protective lid (1 10) to the lower cover (20).
As seen in Figure 3 the armrest construct (A) of the invention comprises an adjusting part (30) which adjusts the height of the armrest construct (A).
As seen in Figure 4 it comprises an adjusting spindle (50) which is connected to the adjusting part (30) and which moves the adjusting bolt (100) by movement from the adjusting part (30). Said adjusting spindle (50) is fixed to the adjusting part (30) by a limiting segment (60). Bushes (40) provide easy rotation of the adjusting spindle (50) within the adjusting part (30).
As seen in Figure 1 the armrest construct (A) of the invention includes an upper cover (70) which is located over the lower cover (20) and which forms an abutment surface of the armrest construct (A). There is an armrest bracket gap (71 ) on the upper cover (70) for engaging the armrest bracket (10) to the upper cover (70). Said upper cover (70) is fixed onto the lower cover (20) by an armrest connecting member (80). There is a protective lid (1 10) under the lower cover (20) for protecting the armrest construct (A) from external effects. As seen in Figure 4 the armrest construct (A) comprises a connecting plate (90) which fastens the armrest bracket (10), the lower cover (20), the adjusting part (30) and the adjusting spindle (50) to each other. There is an engagement gap (91 ) on the connecting plate (90) for engaging the adjusting spindle (50) to the connecting plate (90). On the connecting plate (90) there is an adjusting nut (140) which is fixed on the adjusting spindle (50) and which rotates the adjusting spindle (50) for height adjustment, and a stopper pin (130) which limits the movement of the adjusting bolt (100). As seen in Figure 6 the armrest construct (A) of the invention comprises an adjusting bolt (100) which fastens the armrest bracket (10) to the lower cover (20) by connecting to the connection slot (24) on the lower cover (20) and which moves the armrest construct (A) in the vertical axis by movement from the adjusting spindle (50).
In accordance with the information above the armrest construct (A) of the invention operates as follows. As seen in Figure 1 the bushes (40) are attached to the lower cover (20). The adjusting spindle (50) fits into the adjusting part (30) and the limiting segment (60) is placed. The adjusting spindle on the lower cover (20) is attached to the recess (23) thereof while it is connected with the adjusting nut (140) on the connecting plate (90) and is bring to a nominal adjustment as a result of an axial rotation. After the armrest bracket (10) is mounted to the armrest bracket recess (21 ) on the lower cover (20) the bolt (10) is screwed into the fixing hole (1 1 ) over the armrest bracket (10) via the connection slot (24) in the lower part of the lower cover (20).
The mounting which is performed such that the armrest bracket (10) remains fixed is rotated and an operation control is executed by contacting the adjusting bolt (100) with the stopper pin (130). The armrest connecting members (80) are connected by superimposing the screw socket (22) located on the upper cover (70) and the lower cover (20). After the mounting process is completed by fitting the protective lid (1 10) into the recess thereof in the lower cover (20), the armrest construct (A) is mounted onto the seat (120) and then, a user enhances the comfort by holding the armrest construct (A) in the desired position as a result of rotation of the adjusting part (30), as seen in Figure 5.
As seen in Figure 4 the adjusting part (30) moves the adjusting spindle (50) to which it is connected when the adjusting part (30) is rotated by the user. The adjusting spindle (50) moves the adjusting bolt (100) in a vertical direction and the adjusting bolt (100) moves the armrest bracket upwardly and downwardly. In this way the user makes the height adjustment of the armrest construct (A) at his option.
