<Feeding method>
Two-year-old breeders determined not to be ill at a racehorse breeding ranch, such as oats, brans, corns, rice bran, etc., with rough feed such as common fodder (eg grass (Timoshi etc.)) A diet prepared by mixing 200 grams of edible fats and oils with a concentrated feed and a feed appropriately mixed with trace nutrient components such as vitamins and minerals was fed for 3 weeks and tested.
The group (LCT group: 10 stallions and 10 mares) using LCT as edible fat and oil corresponds to the comparative example, and the group using MCT (MCT group: 10 stallions and 10 mares) corresponds to the example .
In each group, the amount (200 g) of the edible fat and oil added to the horse feed was an amount corresponding to 7% of the daily calorie intake of the horse. Calorie calculation was measured by the modified atwater method.
The test period was 3 weeks, and blood was collected before the start of the test and after the test to conduct various clinical tests.
Statistical analysis of blood laboratory test results was performed by repeated measurement (Repeated-Measures ANOVA). If significant intra-group variation is observed, continue paired t-test, and if interaction is observed, perform multiple comparisons using the Turkey-kramer method. (P <0.05). The clinical test results before and after the test in each group are shown in Table 1 below.

In the clinical examination items in Table 1, although both total protein and albumin are indicators of the nutritional status of the horse, no significant difference was observed between the LCT group and the MCT group before and after the test. This indicates that MCT has no adverse effect on the nutritional status of the horse and indicates that the condition of the horse is healthy (no change between the groups).
On the other hand, in the "red blood cell count", "hemoglobin amount" and "hematocrit value", which are clinical test items related to red blood cells, the MCT group improves significantly higher than the LCT group at the change rate when the start of the test is 100%. Is shown (Figure 1).
The results of this study demonstrate that MCT has enhanced clinical laboratory values for horse red blood cells. And in healthy horses, the ability to increase the laboratory test values for these red blood cells, MCT, to improve the resistance to endurance and endurance of the horse, and thus to improve the performance of the horse It is easy to understand that you can contribute.
