Abstract

A multi coloured animal ear tag is invented to perform better identification of livestock, wild game and other sea and land animals. Due to certain conditions livestock are kept on difficult terrain. Due to inaccessibility to farming livestock and wild game, it can be a beneficial usage to incorporate a multi coloured animal ear tag to identify livestock from a distance, using the different colours on the ear tag to process the identification of the particular animal, or more animals as a combination of coloured ear tags. Each colour on the ear tag can represent specific information such as gender, year, bloodline, region, and various numbers etc.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 12 June 2017 (12.06.2017) CLAIMS What is claimed is:

1 . A multi-coloured animal ear tag for identifying live stock or animal game comprising:

an outlined border shape or form comprising any one of the following including flag-shaped, square, round and rectangle; and

a front side having a surface for presenting a plurality of shapes including stripes, lines, blocks, circles or wedges, triangles or any combination thereof, each of the shapes incorporating a different colour;

wherein each shape is paired with a number, letter or symbol which is linked to a predetermined data sheet, and wherein the shapes are depicted in a vertical straight line.

2. The multi-coloured animal ear tag of claim 1 , wherein the colour represents any number from 0 - 9, symbols or letters in a range predetermined by the data sheet.

3. The multi-coloured animal ear tag of claim 1 , wherein the shape is a stripe.

4. The multi-coloured animal ear tag of claim 3, wherein the stripes are depicted in a vertical and horizontal straight line.

5. The multi-coloured animal ear tag of any one of the preceding claims, wherein three to four shapes are presented on the surface, and wherein the three to four shapes is presented over the entire surface of the tag.

6. The multi-coloured animal ear tag as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein the tag further includes a back side, and wherein surfaces of the front and back sides are identical. 11

7. The multi-coloured animal ear tag of claim 6, wherein a symbol such as x or y, or a square or dot of a chosen colour is added to the back side of the tag to indicate a direction of reading the tag, in use.

8. The multi-coloured animal ear tag of any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein conventional numbering is provided on a back side of the ear tag.

9. The multi-coloured animal ear tag as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein the colour further represents data in respect of any one of the following including:

- a bar code;

- herd number;

- gender;

- camp or area; and

- health condition.

STATEMENT UNDER ARTICLE 19 (1)

According to our interpretation of the cited Prior art as a whole received from the WO-ISA and the ISA Search report we respectfully disagree on the ISA's finding's. This could be because the claims need to be amended and then presented in the right PCT format raised by the WO-ISA.

Thereby we thought it very important to reconstruct the claims and present them with more clarity to you regarding the invention and especially Claim 1 is amended to include the limitations of previous claim 4 to address the lack of novelty and inventive step objections under the WO-ISA.

We also state that there is no impact on the drawings at all but for the description it must just please be noted that the invention entails, addresses and improves distance identification by means of substantial or large colour embodiments on large animal ear tags such as livestock and game and not substantial smaller versions of cited prior art from the WO-ISA.
