Description

A COFFEE MACHINE COMPRISING AN EXTERNAL WATER TANK
The present invention relates to a coffee machine comprising a detachable water tank wherein the water to be transferred to be brewing chamber wherein the coffee is brewed is stored. In coffee machines, the use of detachable water tanks is known for storing the water to be used in the brewing process. The water tank is seated onto a housing disposed on the body. The water is preferably transferred from the water tank by means of a valve that is disposed at the base of the water tank and that opens when seated onto the protrusion on the housing base. When excessive water is filled into the water tank, the overflowing water fills into the housing. Moreover, condensation may occur on the external walls of the water tank due to hot - cold difference. The water accumulating in the housing causes bad odors as well as bacteria and mold formation.
In the state of the art Chinese Patent Application No. CN101612006, a coffee machine is disclosed, wherein the water is quickly discharged in order to prevent bacteria formation and bad odors.
In the state of the art Chinese Patent Application No. CN201782609, a coffee machine is disclosed, wherein the water accumulating in the container is discharged to prevent bad odors.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a coffee machine wherein hygienic utilization conditions are provided.
The coffee machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the claims comprises a hole that is arranged on the housing wherein the water tank is disposed and through which the water accumulating in the housing is discharged. When the water tank is excessively filled, thus causing overflow or a leak occurs due to any reason or condensation occurs on the outer wall of the water tank due to temperature difference, the water accumulated in the housing is discharged by means of the hole. Thus, bacteria formation and bad odors in the housing is prevented.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a residue container is provided so as to remain under the brewing chamber wherein the coffee is brewed and the hole at the base of the housing is connected to the residue container by means of a channel. When the brewing chamber is cleaned, the water used for cleaning is transferred to the residue container or when it is forgotten to place a cup at the lower side of the brewing chamber to transfer the coffee, the coffee flows into the residue container or after the transfer of coffee to the cup is completed, the coffee dripping from the brewing chamber accumulate in the residue container. By means of the channel, the water accumulated in the housing is also transferred to the residue container. Thus, the water accumulated in the housing is discharged and mold formation in the housing is prevented. In another embodiment of the present invention, the channel is positioned so as to be inclined from the housing towards the residue container. By means of the inclined configuration of the channel, the water is prevented from accumulating on the channel and the water in the housing is transferred to the residue container without any problems. In another embodiment of the present invention, the housing base is inclined and the hole is arranged at the lowermost level of the base. Thus, the water in the housing flows towards the hole with the effect of the gravity.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the coffee machine is a Turkish coffee machine. The coffee and the water are transferred to the brewing chamber and brewed. In the coffee machine of the present invention, by means of the hole the water accumulated in the housing is discharged and bad odors are prevented. By means of the channel connecting the housing to the residue container, the water in the housing is transferred to the residue container before accumulating.

The coffee machine (1) comprises a body (2); a brewing chamber (3) disposed inside the body (2); a heater (4) providing the heating of the brewing chamber (3); a detachable water tank (5) wherein the water to be used in the brewing process is stored, and a housing (6) that is arranged on the body (2) and wherein the water tank (5) is disposed.
In the coffee machine (1), coffee is delivered to the brewing chamber (3) automatically or by the user filling manually. As the user gives the start brewing command, water is delivered to the brewing chamber (3) from the water tank (5) by means of a pump (not shown in the figures) and the water conduit (not shown in the figures), and the heater (4) provides the brewing of the coffee by heating the brewing chamber (3). The user can remove the water tank (5) and fill the same with water and then replaces the water tank (5) by seating the same into the housing (6). The water is transferred by means of a valve (9) disposed at the lower part of the water tank (5) as the water tank (5) is seated into the housing (6) and a switch (10) disposed on the base of the housing (6) opens the valve (9).
The coffee machine (1) of present invention comprises a hole (7) that is arranged at the base of the housing (6) and that enables the water accumulated on the base of the housing (6) to be discharged. The water accumulating on the housing (6) for any reasons is discharged from the housing (6) by means of the hole (7). By means of the present invention, the water is prevented from accumulating in the housing (6), thus preventing bad odors.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the coffee machine (1) comprises a residue container (11) that is disposed on the body (2) so as to remain under the brewing chamber (3) and that has a grill (12) whereon preferably the cup wherein the brewed coffee is transferred is placed, and a channel (8) that is arranged between the hole (7) and the residue container (11) and that enables the water flowing through the hole (7) to be delivered to the residue container (11). In the coffee machine (1), the residue container (11) is a container wherein the dirty water used for cleaning the brewing chamber (3) is delivered or wherein the coffee is accumulated in case coffee is transferred from the brewing chamber when there is no cup present. The hole (7) arranged at the base of the housing (6) is connected to the residue container (11) by means of the channel (8) and thus the water accumulated in the housing (6) is transferred to the residue container (11). When full, the residue container (11) is emptied by the user.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the channel (8) is inclined towards the residue container (11). The housing (6) is positioned at a higher level than the residue container (11) and the channel (8) is designed so as to be inclined from the housing (6) towards the residue container (11). Thus, the water accumulated in the housing (6) is more easily transferred to the residue container (11). In another embodiment, the base of the housing (6) is inclined towards the hole (7) so as to enable the accumulated water to flow towards the hole (7). The hole (7) is arranged on a part of the housing (6) base that is at a lower level than the other parts thereof, in other words, the housing (6) base is inclined towards the hole (7) so that the water accumulated on the housing (6) base flows towards the hole (7).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the coffee machine (1) is suitable for brewing Turkish coffee. The coffee is brewed in the brewing chamber (3) and decanted into a cup.
In the coffee machine (1) of the present invention, the water accumulating in the housing (6) for any reasons is discharged by means of the hole (7). Thus bad odors and mold formation that may occur due to accumulated water are prevented. By connecting the hole (7) to the residue container (11) by means of the channel (8), the water is transferred to the residue container (11) and emptied by the user.

Claims

1 - A coffee machine (1) comprising a body (2); a brewing chamber (3) disposed inside the body (2); a heater (4) providing the heating of the brewing chamber (3); a detachable water tank (5) wherein the water to be used in the brewing process is stored, and a housing (6) that is arranged on the body (2) and wherein the water tank (5) is disposed, characterized by a hole (7) that is arranged at the base of the housing (6) and that enables the water accumulated on the housing (6) to be discharged.
2 - A coffee machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by a residue container (11) that is disposed on the body (2) so as to remain under the brewing chamber (3) and a channel (8) that is disposed between the hole (7) and the residue container (11).
3 - A coffee machine (1) as in Claim 2, characterized by the channel (8) that is inclined towards the residue container (11).
4 - A coffee machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the housing (6) of which the base is inclined towards the hole (7) so that the accumulated water flows towards the hole (7).
5 - A coffee machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, that is a Turkish coffee machine.
