 [画面共有装置100a、通信端末100bの構成]
 図3は、画面共有装置100aと通信端末100bのハードウェア構成とソフトウェア機能を説明するためのブロック図である。
 画面共有装置100aは、ユーザからの指示に応じて画面データを通信端末100bに送信して、画面データの共有を行う装置であって、画像データや情報の制御を行う制御部20、他の端末との通信を行う通信部30、画面データ等を記憶する記憶部40、画面データを表示する表示部50を少なくとも備える。
 制御部20は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、RAM(Random Access Memory)、ROM(Read Only Memory)等を備える。通信部30は、他の機器と通信可能にするためのデバイス、例えば、通信回線網に接続して通信実現するモジュールや、IEEE802.11に準拠したWiFi(Wireless Fidelity)対応デバイス等を備える。記憶部40は、表示部50に表示する画面データや、画面共有装置100aを使用するユーザに関連した情報であるユーザ情報を記憶する装置であって、ハードディスクや半導体メモリ、記録媒体、メモリカード等によるデータのストレージ部を備える。
 画面共有装置100aにおいて、制御部20が所定のプログラムを読み込むことで、表示部50と協働して、共有領域を定義する共有領域定義モジュール31と、縦型表示か横型表示かを判定する縦横判定モジュール33と、判定した表示向きに決定する縦横決定モジュール34と、共有領域のサイズを変更する共有領域サイズ変更モジュール34を実現する。また、制御部20が所定のプログラムを読み込むことで、通信部30と協働して、共有先の表示可能領域の縦幅および横幅を取得する共有先寸法取得モジュール32と、変更された画面データを送信する画面データ送信モジュール35を実現する。
 通信端末100bは、画面共有装置100aから送信された画面データを受信して、画面共有を受ける端末であって、画面共有装置100aと同様に、画像データや情報の制御を行う制御部120、他の装置や端末との通信を行う通信部130、画面データ等を記憶する記憶部(図示せず)、画面データを表示する表示部140を少なくとも備える。
 [画面共有処理]
 図3は、画面共有装置100aと通信端末100bが実行する画面共有処理のフローチャートである。上述した各ハードウェアと、ソフトウェアモジュールが実行する処理について、本処理に併せて説明する。
 はじめに、画面共有装置100aは、表示部50に画面を表示する(ステップS10)。例えば、画面共有装置100aのOS(オペレーティングシステム)を起動することで、表示部50は、制御部20からの処理に基づき、画像やアイコン、文字等のデータを表示する。また、アプリケーション・プログラムを起動して、当該アプリケーションのためのウィンドウを表示部50に画面表示してもよい。例えば、図4のウィンドウ500に示すような画面を表示する。
 次に、共有領域定義モジュール31が、表示部50に画面表示された一部又は全部を、共有を行う共有領域として定義する(ステップS11)。この定義の方法としては、ユーザから領域の指定を受け付ける方法と、画面共有装置100aがユーザの指定を受け付けずに定義を行う方法がある。前者は、ユーザが表示部50の画面領域内に表示されたウィンドウの指定を受け付けてもよいし、ユーザが画面領域内の所定の範囲を(ウィンドウの有無にかかわらず)矩形状等の枠で囲うことで、その範囲を共有領域として定義する。
 後者の方法としては、ユーザの指定にかかわらず、共有領域定義モジュール31が、予め設定されたアプリケーション・プログラムのウィンドウを共有領域として定義してもよいし、予め設定された表示部50の所定の領域(位置)を共有領域として定義してもよい。また、文書、動画や写真などのファイルで、所定の拡張子を事前に設定しておき、その拡張子を持つファイルが表示されていれば、共有領域として定義する処理を行ってもよい。
 次に、画面共有装置100aは、共有相手先を決定する(ステップS12)。共有相手先の決定は、共有可能な装置や通信端末100bが一覧で表示部50に表示され、ユーザからの相手先の指定を受け付けることで、共有相手先を決定してもよいし、相手先となるユーザの電話番号、端末番号、メールアドレス、ユーザ情報等に紐付けられた通信端末100bを抽出して、相手先を決定してもよい。
 そして、共有相手先を決定したら、共有先寸法取得モジュール32が、相手先となる通信端末100bの表示可能領域の縦幅、横幅の数値を通信端末100bに問い合わせる(ステップS13)。この問い合わせを受けて、通信端末100bは、縦幅・横幅の事前指定があるか確認する(ステップS14)。ここで、事前指定とは、通信端末100b自身又は操作するユーザが画面共有を実行する際に、通信端末100bの表示部140で画面共有可能な画面のサイズを事前に指定することである。したがって、通信端末100bは、事前に指定した画面のサイズの有無を本ステップで確認する。
 ここで、事前指定がない場合は、共有領域を、表示部140の最大の縦幅と横幅の数値で決定する(ステップS15:S14「NO」)。すなわち、通信端末100bの表示部140の画面の最大サイズの縦幅と横幅の数値を採用する。この場合は、共有領域が、表示部140の全画面となり、所謂、全画面表示での共有となる。
 なお、画面の最大サイズの縦幅と横幅は、表示するウィンドウ用のアプリケーション(ブラウザ等)の表示部分の最大サイズの数値であってもよい。さらに、ウィンドウを囲む枠の幅等を排除した表示可能領域の最大サイズであってよい。ここで、表示部140の画面の最大サイズにアプリケーションのウィンドウが表示されない(他のウィンドウも表示されている)場合であってもよく、この場合は、指定されたアプリケーションのウィンドウの最大サイズが、縦幅と横幅の数値として決定されてよい。
 一方、通信端末100bに事前指定がある場合は、共有領域を事前指定された縦幅・横幅で数値を決定する(ステップS16:S14「YES」)。ここで、例えば、画面共有する際のアプリケーション・プログラムが通信端末100bで予め決定されており、そのアプリケーション・プログラムが定めるウィンドウの縦幅・横幅の数値が決定されていれば、その数値を事前指定された数値として決定する。
 そして、通信端末100bは、決定された縦幅と横幅の数値を画面共有装置100aに送信する(ステップS17)。これを受けて、画面共有装置100aの共有先寸法取得モジュール32は、送信された縦幅、横幅の数値を取得する(ステップS18)。
 次に、縦横判定モジュール33は、取得した縦幅、横幅の数値から、通信端末100bの表示部140が画面を縦型表示しているか、横型表示をしているかの判定を行う(ステップS19)。ここで、縦型表示とは、画面の上下の幅が画面の左右の幅よりも長い場合の表示部140の画面方向である。逆に、横型表示とは、縦型表示を90度傾かせた方向であって、画面の上下の幅が画面の左右の幅よりも短い場合の表示部140の画面方向である。この判定方法としては、例えば、通信端末100bの縦幅、横幅の数値から、縦幅と横幅のどちらが大きい数値であるかを比較し、縦幅が横幅よりも大きい場合は、縦型表示であると判定し、縦幅が横幅よりも小さい場合は、横型表示であると判定してよい。また、ユーザが画面を縦型表示、横型表示に切り替える毎に、切り替わる縦型表示、横型表示の識別子を通信端末100bが記憶し、これを画面共有装置100aが受信して判断してもよい。
 縦横決定モジュール34は、上記の判定に応じて、共有領域を縦型表示するか、横型表示するかを決定する(ステップS20)。そして、共有領域サイズ変更モジュール35が、上記の表示向きの決定を維持しながら、共有領域のサイズを変更する(ステップS21)。
 具体的なサイズの変更方法としては、画面共有装置100aは、先に定義された共有領域と、取得した縦幅、横幅の数値を比較して、決定した表示向きを維持して、表示した際に相似形となるような比率を算出する。例えば、画像解像度を固定した画像データで説明する。共有領域が、横幅:10000ドット、縦幅:5000ドットとして、通信端末100bの縦幅・横幅の数値が、横幅:2500ドット、縦幅:1250ドットとする。この場合は、通信端末100bの表示可能領域が小さいため、共有領域を縮小して表示する必要があるが、共有領域の横幅を通信端末100bの横幅で割って、比率は、4分の1となる。共有領域を4分の1の大きさにすれば、通信端末100bに相似形で表示することが可能となる。
 次に、共有領域サイズ変更モジュール34は、算出された比率で表示部の縦幅、横幅に合わせた共有領域の画面データのサイズを変更する(ステップS21)。画面データのサイズの変更は、縮小する場合は、画像解像度を粗くすることで、画面の比率を維持して、サイズを変更してよい、そして、画面データ送信モジュール35が、サイズを変更した画面データを通信端末100bに送信する(ステップS22)。通信端末100bのデータ受信モジュール135は、送信された画面データを受信する(ステップS23)。図4に示すように、画面共有装置100aから送信した画面データ510を、受信した通信端末100bが表示する。
 加えて、画面共有装置100aは、画面データとともに、画面共有装置100aを使用するユーザを識別するためのユーザ情報を送信する(ステップS24)。ここでの、ユーザ情報とは、ユーザID、ユーザの名前、ニックネーム、連絡先、電話番号等のユーザを識別できる情報であってよく、ユーザの属性(所属先、グループ名、生活地域)等の情報を含んでいてよい。通信端末100bのデータ受信モジュール135は、送信されたユーザ情報を受信する(ステップS25)。
 次に、通信端末100bの位置調整モジュール142は、表示部140に表示する、画面共有を使用するためのボタン522(図5参照)と、ユーザ情報521(ユーザの写真などの画像と名前)の表示位置を決定する(ステップS26)。表示位置の決定方法は、図5に示すように、共有領域を所定の比率で表示部140に表示した際に、表示部140で共有領域に該当しない範囲に、ボタンとユーザ情報の配置場所を決定する。この場合は、算出した比率でサイズを変更することで横幅よりも縦幅にスペースができるため、その位置を配置場所と決定する。そして、通信端末100bは、送信された画面データ520と、ボタン522とユーザ情報521を決定された位置に表示する(ステップS27)。ここで、ボタン522とは、画面共有を開始したり、停止するための操作アイコンであってよい。
 上述の処理で、画面共有装置100aと通信端末100b間で、画面共有を行うにあたり、通信端末100bの表示向きが維持されるため、違和感のない画面共有を可能となる。なお、上記の処理は、画面共有装置100aの画面の切替(共有するウィンドウの切替や共有する領域の変更)が行われたタイミングで、逐次、処理が行われてよい。
 上述した手段、機能は、コンピュータ(CPU、情報処理装置、各種端末を含む)が、所定のプログラムを読み込んで、実行することによって実現される。プログラムは、例えば、フレキシブルディスク、CD(CD−ROMなど)、DVD(DVD−ROM、DVD−RAMなど)、ブルーレイ等のコンピュータ読取可能な記録媒体に記録された形態で提供される。この場合、コンピュータはその記録媒体からプログラムを読み取って内部記憶装置又は外部記憶装置に転送し記憶して実行する。また、そのプログラムを、例えば、磁気ディスク、光ディスク、光磁気ディスク、ハードディスク等の記憶装置(記録媒体)に予め記録しておき、その記憶装置から通信回線を介してコンピュータに提供するようにしてもよい。
