Description
NOISE SUPRESSION EQUIPMENT
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention is included in the technical field of equipment, apparatus or devices intended to diminish or reduce environmental noise.
More particularly, the present invention describes noise suppression equipment which is intended to be used when remodelling or repair works are performed on roads, pavements and/or walls.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Noise resulting from roads, pavements or premises repairs is a source of discomfort for human beings who are near these areas due to the high impact acoustic fields generated.
In general, the noise or unwanted sound is emitted when the building machinery is operating and the load transport vehicles are running. Some machines such as pile drivers and pneumatic drills generate high levels of acoustic pressure together with mechanical vibrations affecting the areas in the surrounding works.
Repairs or remodelling also take place in properties intercalated in living and office areas, which are a frequent reason for complaints because of noise, vibrations and pollutant emissions into the atmosphere. The noise coming from constructions in general can be constant for long periods or fluctuate considerably at certain moments.
The document US-5618010, for example, is known from the state of the art, describing an active noise control mechanism capable of generating a noise cancellation sound for compensating the noise from the source causing thereof. Noise sources may produce discrete tonal noise (having one or more discrete frequencies), narrow band noise, and/or broad band noise.
The known active noise control techniques reduce narrow band noise from a source by generating a narrow band for noise cancellation and reduce the broad band noise from a source by reducing part of the narrow band thereof. In this sense, conventional techniques for noise cancellation include the use of piezoelectric oscillators for effectively shifting a group of frequencies, by making them oscillate so as to produce noise cancellation as it is described in the document US-20080144851.
Likewise, this type of equipment is known from the state of the art, wherein service, maintenance, repair, regulation or inspection operations can be performed through an opening provided therein, as it is described for example in the document US-3885362 A.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The main object of the patent application of the invention is the creation of equipment for reducing unwanted noise resulting from the signals received during repair works in streets, pavements or within premises.
Particularly, noise suppression equipment is described comprising a plurality of modular panels having a coating which absorbs the sound being incidental thereon. In the equipment said panels are attached to a cover, in such a way that they create an enclosed space around the working area generating the noise, in order to suppress it. Furthermore, some of the panels comprise a noise suppression electronic component module being capable of identifying the excess of noise which alters the normal environmental conditions in a given area, and reduces it from 10 dB to 20 dB.
In an exemplary embodiment, the equipment may comprise a plurality of wheels for displacement thereof up to the working area or as said work is progressing. The equipment is placed surrounding the noise source from the work which can be, for example, a pneumatic drill when the work is performed on pavements or roads.
Thanks to the noise absorbing surface of the panels, the unwanted sound wave is prevented from being reflected. The noise suppression electronic component modules
cancel the high-frequency sounds and the panels disperse the noises being produced, into the rest of the frequencies.
Preferably, the panels are not fixed mechanically to each other, but instead they are removable from the position thereof with respect to the rest of the panels, so as to allow access to the area enclosed by the equipment, where the work is taking place.
In an exemplary embodiment in which the equipment to be used for suppressing the noise generated during roads or pavements repairs, the equipment is completely closed. In another exemplary embodiment in which it is used for suppressing the noise generated during repair or remodelling of walls, an area is left without panels, and the panels at the ends rest on the wall on which the work is taking place, the rest of the area being enclosed with the rest of the panels. The noise suppression electronic component module comprises a unit for identifying noise which is in charge of selecting the high-frequency sounds generated by the tools used during the works, a noise generating unit which produces high-frequency sounds similar to those being detected, and a noise suppression unit which the signals from the other two units reach and once there they are cancelled. This noise suppressor electronic component module is preferably arranged in the centre of each panel comprising it and in the equipment roof, in correspondence with the cover.
The most important advantages of the noise suppressor equipment of the present invention with respect to the devices known in the state of the art are:
- the panel walls of the equipment disclosed reduce low-frequency sounds;
- the thickness of the disclosed equipment panels is thinner and, therefore, lighter than the state-of-the-art equipment;
- it has at least an electronic component module capable of reducing the high-frequency noises;
- the device guarantees an environmental sound return from 10 to 20 dB.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To implement the present description being made and in order to provide a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as part of this description, with an illustrative but not limitative purpose, which represents the following:
Figure 1.- It shows a front view of the modules of the noise reduction apparatus. Figure 2.- It shows a scheme of the electronic component module of the noise suppression equipment.
Figure 3.- It shows a top view of the noise suppression equipment where it can be seen the location of the electronical components of the noise suppression equipment.
Figure 4.- It shows a top view of the cover of the noise suppression equipment as it is arranged surrounding a work for roads or pavements repairs.
Figure 5.- It shows a top view of the cover of the noise suppression equipment as it is arranged in a work for a wall repair and remodelling.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
There follows a description, with the help of figures 1 to 5, of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 1 shows a plan view of the noise suppression equipment. Said equipment comprises at least a plurality of panels (1), a cover (3) which joins the upper end of the panels (1). It may also comprise a piece of fabric (4) joining the bottom ends of the panels (1) with the ground, in case said panels (1) do not extend to the ground.
In an exemplary embodiment such as that shown in figure 1 , the noise suppression equipment additionally comprises a plurality of wheels (2) for making easier displacement thereof to the working area where the noise intended to be suppressed is
produced. In this case, as panels (1) are separated from the ground at a distance corresponding at least to the height of the wheels (2), the fabric (4) is arranged between the bottom end of the panels (1) and the ground. The cover (3) may feature different shapes and the equipment may comprise more or less wheels (2) for it to be displaced. The panels (1) may feature different shapes and be made of any material with a face thereof being covered by an insulating material of any physical nature, such as for example cork. Furthermore, they can feature different shapes and sizes.
Preferably, the equipment comprises a plurality of noise suppression electronic components modules (5).
Figure 2 shows a noise suppression electronic component module (5) comprising a noise identifying unit (5a), a noise generating unit (5b) and a noise suppression unit (5c).
The noise signal produced in the work where the noise is intended to be suppressed (generated for example by a hydraulic drill operation), is captured by the noise identifying unit (5a) which selects the high-frequency sounds, and the noise generating unit (5b) emits a pattern of high-frequency sounds which are the same as those selected by the noise identifying noise (5a). Both units send their corresponding signals to the noise suppression unit (5c) for them to be cancelled. The low-frequency sounds are directly dampened by the insulating material of the equipment panels (1).
The equipment may comprise a variable number of noise suppression electronic component modules (5). In case of using the equipment for suppressing the noise due to repairs in walls, it is recommended that the equipment is provided with two or three noise suppression electronic component modules (5). In case of using the equipment for suppressing the noise due to repairs in roads it is recommended that the equipment is provided with five noise suppression electronic component modules (5) distributed in such a way that there are four of them arranged in the panels (1) forming the walls of the equipment and another arranged under the cover (3). Thus a sensor and noise control network is created in the equipment.
Figure 3 shows a view of the inner side of the noise suppressor equipment, wherein the noise suppressor electronic component modules (5) described above can be seen. The equipment may comprise at least a door in at least one panel (1) for allowing access inside thereof. The panels (1) are covered by some noise insulating material such as agglomerated cork and may feature different shapes.
Figure 4 shows a top view of the equipment wherein the cover (3) thereof can be seen when said equipment is being used for suppressing noise produced during street and/or pavement repairs. In this case, as it can be seen in the figure, the equipment has an octagonal plan. The cover (3) may be of any material.
Figure 5 shows a top view of the equipment in which the cover (3) thereof can be seen when it is being used for suppressing the noise produced during a wall repair or remodelling. A section of the cover (3) is aligned, as it can be seen in the figure, with the wall surface.
