- natural rubber may also be referred to as raw rubber or elastic rubber. Hereinafter, natural rubber will be described in more detail.
- an acid is added to the latex to coagulate and separate the rubber component, followed by drying to obtain a natural rubber in a solid state.
- the main source of natural rubber latex is the para rubber tree ( Hevea brasiliensis ).
- Other plants including latex include Ficus, Castilla and Euphorbia.
- More than 220 species of latex-producing plants are produced in hot and humid areas with a latitude of 20 degrees, mainly around the equator.
- Para rubber is cultivated for industrial rubber raw materials. Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India are the main producers. It takes five to seven years to plant seedlings and obtain latex, and latex can be collected for 20 to 30 years. Plant 220 ⁇ 250 trees per 1ha and collect 2000 ⁇ 2500kg of rubber a year.
- the latex is present in the canopy in the bark, which develops several layers out of the forming layer for one year, and when it is cut with a knife, the latex looks like milk.
- Raw rubber can be obtained by solidifying and separating the rubber component contained in the latex. Using this raw rubber as a raw material, a vulcanizing agent, a filler, and the like are mixed and stirred, followed by molding and vulcanization, thereby obtaining a rubber product for use.

- the rubber component is solidified and separated by adding acid to the latex and dried to obtain raw rubber, that is, natural rubber, which is classified into various grades according to the manufacturing method.
- the manufacturing principle is all constant, and typical examples include smoked sheet and pale crepe.
- Smoked rubber boards are the most common quality and are reddish brown raw rubber.
- formic acid is added and mixed well to coagulate and separate the rubber components, the rubber powder is collected, squeezed out moisture between the rollers, and rolled flat. Subsequently, it is put in a smoking room, burned with wood, smoked and dried to make a product, which is colored in reddish brown due to smoking.
- Fail crepe In the case of a fail crepe, the sodium bisulfite is added to the latex and bleached before solidification. Subsequently, the rubber component is coagulated and separated by acid, and the rubber powder is spread thinly and widely with a strong roller, which is then hot-air-dried to make a product. Fail crepe has the disadvantage that it is more expensive than smoked rubber because it is made of clean white rubber through this process, but it is also used for high-end products such as pale products.

- Example 1 Materials, PLA / NR / Organic Clay Blend Sample Preparation and Characterization Methods
- PLA 4032D, Natureworks, USA
- natural rubber ISNR5, Rubber board, India
- Organic clay oragnoclay
- the structure and information of the grade used is shown in Table 1 below.
- Blends were prepared using an intensive mixer (Rheocomp mixer 600, MKE, Korea) and materials were mixed at 100 ° C. under 100 rpm for 8 minutes.
- the ratio of PLA and NR is 90/10, 75/25, 60/40 by weight, and in each case, the weight ratio of organic clay is 0, 0.5, 1, 3 based on the total 100 parts by weight of PLA and NR. , 5 wt% of each other was added to prepare a blend, and the composition ratios used in the experiments are shown in Table 2 below.
- Dynamic rheological properties were measured using a Rhoemetrics RMS 800 using a 25mm parallel plate fixture at 190 ° C. Stress relaxation tests were performed under strain 0.1 conditions using the DHR-3 rheometer from TA. All samples were manufactured in a 25 mm wide and 1 mm thick form using hot press (CH4386, Carver) for measurement. Kidney rheology was 0.01. At 160 ° C. using SER fixture of Physica MCR 501 (Anton Paar). It measured at the speed of s - 1 . In addition, the mechanical properties were prepared in a standard sample of ASTM D638 type VV in the hot press and then repeated 10 times using UTM (LF plus, Lloyd instruments Ltd). The prepared blended samples were molded in Epoxy and cryo-tomed using a diamond knife, followed by scanning electron microscope morphology using JEM-2100F (Jeol, acceleration voltage 200kV).
- Example 2 organic Clay According to the content PLA Of NR /abandonment Clay Blend Morphology Characterization
- FIG. 1 shows the TEM image of the blend according to the clay content (1,3,5,10 wt%).
- the clay content increases, the size of the NR dispersed phase decreases significantly, and after a certain clay content, the decrease of the dispersed phase decreases (about 3 wt.%), And the size of the dispersed phase does not decrease any more and becomes constant. Showed a tendency.
- This result indicates that after clay is added, the NR dispersion phase forms a uniform and stabilized morphology, and very finely divided dispersion phases are saturated in the matrix.
- the clay particles can be reliably observed in the polylactic acid domain, which is distinct from the morphology of blends with low clay content of less than 3 wt%.
- the added clay is present at the interface of the two polymers, and in the content above a certain critical content (3 wt%), the added clay is also observed on the matrix. Specifically, it can be seen that at 5 wt%, an excessive amount of clay remains in a core-shell-like structure surrounding the dispersed phase interface, or clay particles are dispersed and dispersed in the matrix away from the dispersed phase interface. At this time, the size of the observed clay is about several hundred nm, it can be seen that the clay forms an interlayer insertion structure in the PLA matrix.
- the morphology of dispersed phase droplets in incompatible polymer blends is determined by two dimensionless numbers: viscosity ratio and capillary number. It is known that deformation of dispersion phase starts to occur when Ca> Cacrit at specific viscosity ratio, and breakdown of dispersion phase occurs under higher capillary number.
- the clay added to the incompatible polymer blend preferentially exists at the thermodynamically unstable interface, dramatically reducing the interfacial tension. As the capillary number increases due to the decrease of the interfacial tension, the process of dispersing the dispersing phase is accelerated, the dispersing phase splits very finely, and the clay located at the interface deteriorates the coalescence process among the dispersing phases, thereby maintaining the split dispersing phase.
- the added clay is still located at the relatively unstable interface, and it appears that the dispersed phase is further broken by repeating the process of lowering the interfacial tension.
- This phenomenon can be understood as a spontaneous phenomena for reducing interfacial energy with very large surface area and thermodynamically unstable as it is split into hundreds of nanometers.
- the size of the dispersed phase reaches a minimum value, and it can be seen that an excessively added clay is also found on the matrix.
- Example 3 organic Clay According to the content PLA Of NR /abandonment Clay Blend Rheology Characterization
- the increase in modulus and the reversal of storage modulus / loss modulus are known to originate from various causes.
- the system of the present invention one can consider the structural change due to the increase in the average interfacial area of the entire dispersed phase due to the decrease in the size of the dispersed phase present in the incompatible blend.
- the modulus of the blend gradually increases even above 3 wt%, where the size of the dispersed phase is minimized and saturated, so that the modulus of the blend due to the addition of clay is simply a change in interfacial area. It can be seen that it reflects the formation of a strong internal structure.
- a tan ⁇ (G ′′ / G ′) value of 0.1 rad / s decreases according to the clay content, and then a minimum structure is formed at a content of 2 to 3 wt%, resulting in a plateau.
- the modulus is markedly increased even in the high frequency region, which may be attributed to the filling effect of the excess clay present in the matrix.
- the relaxation time and interfacial tension were calculated from the linear viscoelastic test values through the relevant model equation.
- Various methodologies are known in which relaxation time can be determined according to linear viscoelastic values.
- the present invention applies a method using relaxation spectrum. After calculating the relaxation spectrum from the stress relaxation test results of FIG. 5, the form relaxation time ( ⁇ 1 ) corresponding to the relaxation behavior of the interface is calculated as shown in Equation 1 below, and the relaxation time of each blend is determined using the Parlirene model equation. Obtained.
- the interfacial tension of the blend is rapidly reduced with the clay content, after 3wt% clay content converges to the minimum value.
- Previous studies on incompatible polymer blends with clay have demonstrated the commercialization effects of clay, where the stabilization energy generated by the adsorption of two polymers on the clay surface located at the interface reduces the interfacial tension and reduces the size of the dispersed phase. .
- the decrease in the interfacial tension of the blend with the clay content observed in the results of the present invention is due to the commercialization effect of the clay, the increase in the interfacial tension at high content is due to the matrix viscosity due to the filling effect of the clay present on the matrix This may be due to the increase of.
- the elongation viscosity measurements at the extention rate of 0.01 s ⁇ 1 of pure PLA and blends are shown in FIG. 7.
- the pure PLA changes the elongational viscosity according to the value of three times the shear viscosity (corresponding to the solid line of Equation 2, Figure 7) according to the time the strain is applied, the higher the strain is applied Breaking takes place in a short time.
- PLA / NR blends were unable to obtain results due to failure in a very short time than the elongation behavior of pure PLA due to incompatibility between the two components.
- the extension hardening behavior is expressed by the clay that is peeled off at the interface, and at the excess clay content, the excess clay existing in the intercalated form in the PLA matrix serves as a stress point for the deformation. It can be seen that the action is reduced and the hardening behavior eventually disappears.
- Example 4 organic Clay According to the content PLA Of NR /abandonment Clay Blend Mechanical characterization
- the mechanical properties of the blends were observed due to the commercialization effect of clay. From FIG. 8, it can be seen that the tensile elongation increases until a specific clay threshold at various composition ratios and then the elongation decreases after the threshold amount. In this case, the mechanical strength decreases sequentially as the clay content increases.
- the mechanical properties of the PLA90 / NR10 blend were observed, the tensile elongation rapidly increased to 3wt% clay, and the elongation increased to 0.5wt% clay in PLA75 / NR25 and PLA60 / NR40 and then decreased.

Description

본 발명의 일 실시예에서는 상용 천연 고무로서 ISNR5(Indian natural rubber)를 사용하였다.
구체적으로, 상기 유기 클레이는 클로이지트 20A(Cloisite 20A), 클로이지트 10A(Cloisite 10A), 클로이지트 30B(Cloisite 30B) 또는 이의 혼합물일 수 있으며, 특히 클로이지트 20A(Cloisite 20A)이 바람직하다.
