Abstract
A smart water valve (1) for water mains, comprising a body comprising a flow path inside, an inlet port and a outlet port (4) for connecting pipes, a flow control element for controlling the flow through the flow path, and an actuator for moving the flow control element between on and off position, said valve comprising a pressure sensor (6) and a valve position sensor within said body, said pressure sensor having electrical connections extending from inside said valve out side to be electrically connected to a processing device (8), configured to determine conditions of the pipings based on the readings of said pressure sensor. The smart valve may additionally comprise other types of sensors.
