Abstract

A system for monitoring the bed of patients potentially at risk of falls comprises three distinct parts: the control unit (1) with associated wifi antenna (4), the scanner (2) and the monitor (3), also with an associated wifi antenna (5). The control unit (1) and the scanner (2) are located in the patient's room, monitoring and interpreting his or her movements. The monitor (3) is located at the care station where are located the nurses, technicians or caretakers that take care of the patients. When the control unit (1) detects by means of the scanner (2) any movement of the patient, it wirelessly transmits (via wifi) a signal by means of the antenna (4). The monitor (3) in turn receives this signal by means of its associated antenna (5) and warns the caretakers about the patient's movements.

[018] The complete system consists of three distinct parts: the command (1) with its respective WiFi antenna (4), the scanner (2) and the monitor (3) also with its WiFi antenna (5). The command (1) and the scanner (2) are located in the patient's room monitoring and interpreting their movements. The monitor (3) is located at the service station where the nurses, technicians or attendants who work with the patients are located. When the command (1), through the scanner (2) detects any movement by the patient, the patient sends a wireless signal (WiFi) through its antenna (4). The monitor (3), in turn, receives this signal through its own antenna (5) and warns the attendants of the patient's movement. It is noteworthy that the monitor (3) can detect the signals of several commands (1) at the same time, showing the information sent separately. Thus, attendants can have control of multiple patients on the same monitor with all centralized information.
The photoelectric sensor (15) has the function of accurately locating the bed position, so that the command (1) can detect and correctly interpret the patient's movements. The sensor of temperature (14) has the function of detecting, through the heat of the patient's body, its movements. The connector (13) receives the cables from the control (1). The scanner, to efficiently perform its function, is installed just above the bed, attached to the ceiling.

[020] The control (1) consists of the following components: microcontroller (6), membrane keyboard (7), graphic display (8), motor drivers (10), power supply (1 1), wireless communication module (WiFi) (9) with its antenna (4) and connector (12).
