  • bras today are sold by bra band and bra cup size. It is cost prohibitive to manufacture every combination of band and cup size, so manufacturers and retailers offer only a limited selection of combinations, i.e., typically 34A-C, 36B-D, 38C-DD, 40 D-F.
  • this limited size selection makes it difficult for women with different body types that do not fit this size selection to find a bra that fits comfortably.
  • this limited size selection does not take into account the body fluctuations of an individual woman that may result from day to day dieting and weight gain, cold and hot climates, and pregnancy and nursing.   • the cylindrical portion 50 has a length that is great enough to ensure that the flat portions 54 do not transverse through the looped portion 38, regardless of the position of the user. For example, as shown in the transition between FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, when the user makes asymmetric movements such as raising a shoulder, the strap 46 is capable of providing comfortable mobility of the strap 46 relative to the band 26, as the length of the cylindrical portion 50 passes through the looped portion 38.
  • This solution relates to the strap function and adjustability and would be ideal for a front closure bra.
  • One bra strap is utilized for this design, which is flat at both ends and becomes a round elastic cord in the middle. This round portion slides into a channel which attaches to the center of the bra band in the back. This allows the bra straps to offer some flexibility and adjustment for the user without the need of reaching back to loosen or tighten throughout the day. It accommodates asymmetric movements of the user without causing friction.
  • the strap connects to the bra cups in the front through a small circular ring.
  • On the underside of the two strap ends are rows of threads that are sewn into the strap and allow a hook, which is located at the end of the strap to hook into one of the many rows of thread connections.
  • This new adjustment allows the user more flexibility and movement while wearing their bra and provides a more secure way of adjusting the strap sizing.
  • This concept of a semi-permanent sizing with a hook and threaded loops could be used in a bungee system or comparable applications where different sizing and security is required with elastic materials.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un soutien-gorge comprenant un premier bonnet de soutien-gorge et un deuxième bonnet de soutien-gorge relié au premier bonnet de soutien-gorge. Le soutien-gorge comprend en outre une sangle ayant une première extrémité pouvant être fixée au premier bonnet de soutien-gorge, une deuxième extrémité pouvant être fixée au deuxième bonnet de soutien-gorge, et une partie cylindrique située entre la première extrémité de la sangle et la deuxième extrémité de la sangle.
