Description

Applicant: Shoetsy, Inc.
Inventor: Marian Shaghoury
Name of Invention: Women and Men's clear shoe and heel protector
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
1. Field of invention
The present invention is a devise of 6 pieces of clear plastic with a shoe friendly adhesive that collectively and singularly protect different parts of all women's and men's shoes on multiple surfaces of the shoe but not limited to the external parts of the shoes and can be placed inside or under the shoe for maximal coverage. These surfaces include but not limited to the following types of shoes: sandals, flats, stiletto heels, platform heels, wedges and men's sandals, and closed shoes. These pieces of clear plastic are not limited to protect and shall be used under various embellishments such as crystals, studs, and various designs. The shapes shall alter in opacity and colors forms that align with seasonal trends and change the look of the shoe to cover over a scuffed heel, stiletto, and platform and right above the heel.
2. Description of Related Art
Women's shoes are changing with the trends, different materials and textures are making it difficult for cobblers to keep up with renewing and fixing them. Any alternative would be to throw them away and buy new ones. One can easily assume by looking at a worn out shoe the location where signs of wear are evident. Signs of the most worn out parts are as follows: front of the shoe, the sides at the front, the full heel, and above the heel. With that knowledge, a protection with the intention of preventing is the only solution to keep a woman and man's shoe look new longer. The most frequent way a woman or man can wear out a shoe while wearing them is while driving, sitting, and walking. More accurately, driving can easily stain the back of the shoe on any type of shoe, walking on uneven roads is the most frequent way of tearing a woman's heel. Toe marks are left on nearly all women's and men's sandals and interior of a shoe. Tearing the front of any woman's shoe happens while going up stairs or kneeling down. Any of these situations can cause damage from the first wear. This causes the feeling of losing an investment and embarrassment to continue to wear the same shoe in public when signs of wear and tear start to become evident. The drive to the cobbler as being ineffective has caused for the need to create a new system to protect and avoid damages to all women and men's shoes. The modern women and men's shoe trendsno longer works with just leather and no tools exist to cater to those fashionable shoes. The obvious question becomes how can a woman or man walk confidently without an obvious protection around the shoe and avoiding the most amount of scuffing while they wear the shoe. Some notoriety has come from one design made as a silicone cap with a larger disk at the bottom, but the protection has failed to address two key factors which is that scuffing is more than in just one area of shoe and that This product requires that you measure your heel before purchasing and can cause friction when purchasing with sizing as the device can never be a perfect fit and if tighter will rub aggressively on the sides of the heels. Visibility is another reason why that device takes away from the look of the shoe. More recently, a US patent has appeared to replace the silicone invention with a clear plastic but has failed to allow for it's protection on certain types of shoes and also bears similarity in it's effectiveness to protect other parts of the shoe that can cause harm while being worn. BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is claiming that 6 unique devices are to be used independently or in combination that wraps around major weak points in the shoe with the intent on avoiding all scuffing by carefully covering target points that women and men are prone to damaging based on human behaviour while in movement. Key elements that the present invention holds is not having sizing requirements, the material bends to all curves of the required shoe, pieces are used to overlap with each other or extend to go from a size 5 to a size 11. These 6 pieces are divided into 3 categories of shoes namely: Sandals, Stilettos, and Platform heels. The sandal protectors are to be used on all flat and heeled sandals as well as covering and protecting the interior of any shoe. This protector shall avoid visible toe marks, dirt build up around the toe area and avoid the material under the foot from ripping and cracking caused from the motion of walking and bending the material under the foot. The Stiletto protector shall cover all flat and heeled stilettos with the similarity of having a pointy toe. This will avoid bumping at the front of shoe, hitting the sides of the front of shoe with each other or an accidental surface, a common misfortune, and the full back will be protected while driving and walking on any surface that causes the heel to dig into dirt, or tear from a concrete floor. The platform protector shall cover all flat and heeled platforms including a wedged heel and avoid similar issues described with the stiletto protector. These 6 pieces can be combined when considering other shoe types such as a Sandal heels and platform heels that would require a sandal protector and a heel protector and will result in a 99% coverage of the entire shoe covering the inside and the outside at the same time.

Regarding device 1 and 2 in Fig. 1 , the embodiment represents 2 pieces that overlap or extend to create a full protection covering 99% of sandals. In Fig. 6b, (25) device 1 goes around the strap of the shoe located between the first 2 toes. This piece protects against toe marks, the dirt build up typically found in that area. The device 2 in Fig. 6c (26) containing an attached lip covers the second half of the surface and intended to protect the label on the shoe and from any excess dirt. The lip on the end of the second piece in Fig. 1 (4-27) is meant to fold and wrap around the back of the sandal to act as a heel protector if the sandal has an open back. If the sandal has a closed back, the lip simply folds up. See application in Fig. 6c.
The device 3 and 4 represents the heel and above the heel protection in Fig. 2 (5-10) where in (5) has 3 grooves to fit at the larger circumference at the highest point of the heel (6), the second groove (7) helps mold the plastic to wrap to the back of the heel, and finally the bottom groove (8) helps to flex and the sharpest curve located at the mid- heel. In Fig. 4b (15-16) and Fig. 5b (15-16), device 3 and 4 can be used on any shoe with a heel and/or above the heel surface. In Figure 4a, (19) is applied covering the entire heel portion until the seam, and (18) is applied above the heel seam and covers against driving stains.
The device 5 and 6 in Fig. 3 are applications applied to the front of a platform shoe (1 1 - 20) and a stiletto shoe (12-22). For the front of the platform heel, see Fig. 4c, (17), which covers the platform area entirely to not allow it to get contact with floor debris or touch any surface from the side. Device 6 is an application to adhere to the front of a stiletto flat or heel (21-22). 2 cuts located to the front and back (14) are meant to avoid tension while applying at a narrowing corner. There is an opening at the front portion to allow the ends to touch just enough to have a clean seal during the application (13).
Those skilled in the art may make modifications with different embodiments that still drive the same results. As such, any modification that results in the protection of any shoe style that covers independently or combined 1 or more portions of the shoe that suggested a front or side application and a complete heel and upper heel application for women and men's shoes, falls under the scope of the invention described in the claims.
