Abstract

A system for leveling floors and other, through lifting, made by providing two glasses (5, 8) sliding one into the other, the inner one being filled with sand. For adjusting the height of a floor it is sufficient to hold with one hand the outer glass (5) and with the other one lift the inner glass (8). During the lifting step the sand contained inside the inner glass, through the voids (11) existing at the bottom of the prismatic structure, passes into the outer glass so that once the inner glass has been brought to its desired height, its base resting on the sand is able to support the weight applied upon.

Description

A SYSTEM FOR LEVELING FLOORS AND OTHER, THROUGH
LIFTING
DESCRIPTION
For leveling floors, furniture, machinery and other, elements are currently used commonly called leveling feet.
Most of these are made of two cylinders, one within the another, so that by screwing or unscrewing the inner cylinder, the height is varied and in such a way it is possible to compensate for unevenness existing on substrates such as cement, floors, earth or sand.
The purpose of the present patent application for industrial invention is to provide a novel leveling system which allows to perform the operation more quickly and also by assuring a higher weight capacity.
The idea of solution of the patent consists in having imagined a leveling occurring for lifting an inner glass with respect to an outer glass, with passage of sand from one to another.
On attached tables the system is shown in its component parts in one embodiment thereof given for an indicative and non limiting purpose.
Table 1/9 shows, in Figs. 1), 2) and 3), the same number of views of a base plate.
Table 2/9 shows in Figs. 4) and 5), the views of the outer glass from above and below.
Table 3/9 shows, in Figs. 6) and 7), two views of the inner glass.
Table 4/9 relates, in Fig. 8), to an exploded view of the system. Table 5/9 shows, in Fig. 9), an exploded axonometric and sectioned view of the system.
Table 6/9 shows, respectively in Figs. 10), 11) and 12), the laying of the suggested system which is provided with one, two and three outer glasses.
Table 7/9 suggests, in Fig. 13), suggests three outer overlapped glasses and in Fig. 14) the middle outer glass provided with horizontal cylindrical chamfers .
Table 8/9, in Fig. 15), suggests two systems placed side by side and joined by a suitable radial tubing .
Table 9/9 also shows, in Fig. 16) , an outer glass provided on its the four faces of sections of cylindrical tube adapted to receive as many connection pipes.
With reference to the attached tables the system is made of:
• one base as circular concentric crown, the inner ring (1) of which is higher than the outer one
(2) and is joined to it by radial spaced partition (3) with their head provided with a semicircular imprint (4);
• one cylindrical glass (5) with vertical ribs (6) spaced along their outer perimeter; said ribs ending at their lower portion with enlargements (7) and in their upper portion with said imprint ( 4 ) ;
• one glass (8) with a diameter slightly lower than the glass (5) so as to slide in its interior; • the upper edge of the glass (8) has four spaced protrusions (9) with the function of a male element for closing the cap (12) ; on the upper lateral surface of said glass (8), a hole (10) is made, whereas its bottom is made of prismatic elements (11) vertically and horizontally placed and spaced from one another;
• one closing cover of the inner glass (8) made of a flat plate (12), centrally provided at its lower portion of a circular ring with at its inside, a female closing system.
After what has been described and illustrated on the attached tables, given for indicative and non limiting purposes, the operation of the system is evident.
At the laboratory the inner glass (8) is completely introduced into the outer glass (5), only the protruding male portion (9) remaining at the outside, and then it is to filled with sand and closed with the cover (12).
Having in this way been assembled during on site mounting, the outer glass (5) is mounted on the base plate by matching the enlargements (7) with the imprints ( ) .
After things so arranged, in order to be able for example to place a pavement it is sufficient to adjust the height of each foot; for this purpose it will be sufficient to hold the glass (5) with one hand and lift with the other one the inner glass (8), so the passage of sand from the latter to the outer glass (5) will be facilitated through the prismatic slides of the bottom (11) once having reached the height at which the glass (8) will rest on the poured sand.
In this way it will be possible, by acting on each individual foot, to place at height a pavement.
In order to prevent that an excessive weight, lasting on each single foot, cause the ascent of the sand by varying its level, through the hole (10) made at the high portion of the internal glass (8), expanded polyurethane can be injected, which by expanding fills all the existing void, so preventing an eventual ascent of the sand.
As an alternative to expanded polyurethane it is possible, again through the hole (10), to pour liquids which do not permit the concreting of sand.
The introduction of these materials through the hole (10), by consolidating the sand in its interior, exponentially increases the weight rate of each individual foot, which systems with screw adjustment are not able to guarantee.
The system is also suitable for leveling at great heights; for such purpose, it will be sufficient to superimpose a plurality of outer glasses until reaching the approximate height which will then be defined by the intervention of the inner glass.
In order to prevent any moving to the floor, special outer glasses are used having inserts (13) on which circular tubing are inserted, so in this way all feet are connected together giving stability to the floor and to everything is mounted upon.
The attached tables and their descriptions were given for illustrative and non limiting purposes, in this way being it clear that the idea of solution can be implemented in different ways by remaining within the scope of following claims .
