Abstract

The invention relates to a safety device for belts, comprising at least two bases, namely a lower base (1) and a removable upper base (2) defining a housing (30) therein, a rod (3) solidly connected to the lower base (1) and secured to the upper base (2), and a key (31) disposed on the upper base (2) and having first magnetic means (32). The device also comprises a groove (5) around the rod (3), said groove remaining inside the upper base (2) in the housing (30) when the rod (3) is secured to the upper base (2), and locking means including two flat metal bars (8, 9) facing one another in the housing (30), which, in the locked position, are inserted into the groove (5).

Description

SEAT BELT DEVICE

Safety device for belts, of the type comprising at least two bases, a lower one and a removable upper one that defines a housing inside, a shank integral with the lower base that is fixed on the upper base, a key with first means magnetic that is arranged on the upper base and because it comprises: a groove around the rod, which when the rod is fixed to the upper base, said groove is located inside the upper base, in the housing, locking means, with two plates Metals facing each other, in the housing, which, in the locked position, fit inside the groove, characterized in that it comprises: a second magnetic means inside the housing, arranged below the plates with a force of attraction lower than those of the first magnetic means of the key, and retaining means that retain the plates, located above said plates and that contact said plates inas at point P, which in the locked position said plates, by action of the second magnetic means are fitted inside the groove preventing the release of the rod from the inside of the housing and that in the unlocked position, the first magnetic means expire the attraction of the second magnetic means on the plates by attracting the plates that swing through the point P, said plates being released from the interior of the groove and also releasing the rod from the upper base.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Different patents and designs that protect safety belts for belts are known in the state of the art. Thus, the Utility Model n ^Q 201230982 (ES1077804) is known "SECURITY CLOSURE FOR SUBSECTION BELTS FOR PATIENTS WITH OPENING BY CURRENCY", from 2012, in the name of UBIOTEX ESPAÑA, SL, which refers to a safety lock for patient restraint belts with coin opening characterized by a cylindrical rod with a circular base whose axis has a longitudinal and peripheral circular groove near its flat end and a cylindrical ring-shaped pivot with a lateral groove and a central circular perforation for stem fixing. Inside this ring has a V-shaped spring or hook held by two pins, one at the apex of the V and the other surrounded by one of its ends while the other end is free.

The so-called closing buttons are also known, such as the Spanish Industrial Model No. ^Q 136873, from 1996, on behalf of the same applicant firm, which consists of a body and a cover and adopts an octagonal prism configuration of edges in blunt edge , of low height in relation to its maximum wingspan, which by one of its bases has a slight circular recess that covers practically the entire face and on the other base it has a circular hole of small diameter, centered with respect to the octagonal surface. The body lid is released using a magnetized key.

These closing buttons are already described and not claimed in the Spanish Utility Model n ^Q 0234178 "DEVICE FOR SUBJECTING A HUMAN BODY IN A DEFAULT POSITION ON A BED", from 1978, on behalf of SEGUFIX-SYSTEM BANDAGEN- UND FIXIERGURTE GMBH & CO, currently in the public domain, where in the numerical reference 13, the closing buttons described as "clips" appear. The close buttons on generates! they consist of a lower base integral to a rod, the rod being introduced into the upper base and releasing the latter by means of a key comprising a magnet, as illustrated in the Industrial Model indicated above.

In that line the European Patent EP2463459 "BUTTON is known

OF CLOSURE AND MAGNETIC KEY FOR A MAGNETIC LOCK ", in the name of Wysozki, Román et al., Of the year 2010, which refers to a closing button for a magnetic lock that must be opened with a magnetic key with: at least a first magnet that is housed in the closure button rotatably about a rotation axis, and at least one interlocking element that is coupled with the at least a first magnet so that by turning the at least a first magnet around the axis of rotation can move from an interlocked position to an open position; characterized in that the closing button has first guide means that are made in such a way that, when a magnetic key has second adapted guide means the closing button is close to the closing button along the axis of rotation to a final position, the magnetic key and the closing button are guided to a predetermined rotating position with respect to l axis of rotation and between them.

In said patent EP2463459 another patent of one of the applicants is mentioned, EP1355550 which refers to a closing button in which a magnet is rotatably housed around an axis of rotation. The magnet is coupled by means of a rotating disk that has drag stops with interlocking elements. Each of the interlocking elements is pre-tensioned by a spring in an interlocking position. By rotating the magnet around the axis of rotation, the interlocking elements are moved to an open position. To open this known closing button, a magnetic key is placed in the closing button. The magnetic key contains several magnets, which generate a magnetic field with a field strength that varies in a circle around a longitudinal axis of the magnetic key. Thanks to this, it is possible to exert a torque on the magnet arranged in the closing button to turn it and move the locking elements to the open position by turning the magnetic key. Magnetic locks of this type offer great security to prevent unauthorized opening, since the necessary torque for opening cannot be generated with conventional magnets and, as a rule, can not be caused by bumps or shocks in the close button a turn of the close button arranged on the magnet. However, also when using the proper magnetic key, the opening is more difficult than in the case of the simpler magnetic locks explained above, because the magnetic key must be rotated selectively with respect to the closing button. The button is a closed non-magnetic unit, which has a hole in the lower surface adapted to receive the free end of the rod, and also comprises a plurality of locking plates each supported on an outer part by a compressible support material, and adapted to retain the pin in the toothed part in a locked position within the button, and to turn up and release the pin in response to a magnetic force directed to the upper surface of the button. The magnetic force can be applied by a magnet mounted inside a key adapted to fit on the button. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is an improvement in the sector of safety devices for medical belts, also known in the sector as closure buttons.

The closest document is US5600977. This document discusses the problems of the risk of interference of magnets with other equipment. To do this, configure a key with magnets which, when coupled to the button, is configured to reduce the distances between the magnet of the key and the button, thus reducing the magnetic capacity of the magnet itself and avoiding the risk of interference.

For this purpose, two half-moon plates are used in said patent, which are moved and moved, by the action of the key magnet, thus allowing the stem of the button head to exit. To facilitate that the plates return to their initial position, a material that is compressed, preferably foam, which is placed below the plates is used, thus, when releasing the rod, the plates compress said foam, and when the attraction by the magnet, the foam, when decompressed, forces the plates to be put back in operational position.

And it is in that means of return where the problem exists. The main one is that it cannot be wetted or submerged, since the foam deteriorates until it becomes unusable.

Also, if the foam is full of liquid it will not work in the same way, it will not allow compression of it, so these Devices cannot be used even when the patient bathes, nor can they be used if they have been stained with any type of body fluids.

Another problem is the placement of the plates, since these, by the action of the magnet and the foam, move until they stop working properly, since at the moment when the decompression of the foam occurs, push the plates without an order.

Thus, the inventor proposes a new invention that solves the problems of the closest document.

Thus, first, the foam return means of the nearest document is removed. This means that the present device can be wetted, it can be used by immersing the patient in water, the patient can be bathed with detergent, etc., since there is no foam that can deteriorate.

In addition, the plates never lose their position, they are always well placed, because the retaining means act on them and prevent them from moving.

Another of the advantages of this invention is that with this configuration the plates, in locked position, are at rest, which is the position in which they will be more usually, entering at rest automatically, at the time of removing the upper base key.

Likewise, the security is obtained that the plates return to the initial position at rest, and therefore the possible malfunctions of the device are reduced.

An object of the present invention is a safety device for belts, of the type comprising at least two bases, a lower one and a removable upper one defining a housing inside, a shank integral with the lower base that is fixed on the base top one key with first magnetic means that is arranged on the upper base and because it comprises: a groove around the rod, which when the rod is fixed to the upper base, said groove is located inside the upper base, in the housing, means of locking, with two metal plates facing each other, in the housing, which in the locked position fit inside the groove, characterized in that it comprises: a second magnetic means inside the housing, arranged below the plates with a force of lower attraction than the first magnetic means of the key, and retaining means that retain the plates, located above said plates and that contact said plates at point P, which in locked position said plates, by action of the second magnetic means fit inside the groove preventing the release of the rod from the inside of the housing and that in the off position blocking, the first magnetic means overcome the attraction of the second magnetic means on the plates by attracting the plates that swing through the point P, releasing said plates from the interior of the groove and also releasing the stem of the upper base. CONCRETE REALIZATION OF THIS INVENTION

Thus, in figure 1 a lower base 1 with its stem 3, an upper base 2 and a key 31 are shown.

Figure 2 shows the lower base 1 with its stem 3 and a groove 5, an upper base 2 with a housing 30 inside which plates 8,9 are provided comprising slits 39 and protrusions 35, retaining means 34, perforations 36, the key 31 with first magnetic means 32.

In figure 3 the upper base 2, the rod 3, the housing 30, the plates 8,9 with their grooves 39, second magnetic means 33 and spacer means 40 are shown.

In FIG. 4, the lower base 1 with its stem 3 and the groove 5, the upper base 2 with the housing 30, inside which the plates 8,9 comprising the recesses 39 and the protrusions 35, the means, are drawn retainers 34, and perforations 36.

Figure 5 shows the upper base 2, the rod 3, the housing 30, the plates 8,9 with their grooves 39, the second magnetic means 33 and the separating means 40. Finally, in figure 6 the lower base 1, the stem 3 with its milling 37, and the upper base 2 with the opening 38 are shown.

By way of clarification, it has been indicated as a superior base 2 implying that it forms a set. Constructively, it can be formed by two structures (upper housing and lower housing) that in some figures can be seen and which, when joining, define the housing 30. As it is already known, and in order to facilitate reading, all of this has been called base upper 2.

Thus, in a specific embodiment, the device object of the present invention would function as follows.

Initially, in the locked position (Figs. 4 and 5), the plates 8,9 are locked in the groove 5 of the rod 3. Thus, if it were intended to separate the upper base 2 from the lower 1, it would not be possible , since the plates 8,9 that block the rod 3, would not release the rod 3, since said plates 8,9 are also blocked by the second magnetic means 33 (for example magnets).

The locking means, which are two metal plates (8,9) facing each other, are located inside the housing 30.

It also has second magnetic means 33 inside the housing 30, arranged below the plates 8,9 with a force of attraction lower than the first magnetic means 32 of the key 31.

This characteristic of the magnetic means 32 is very important because in this way it is possible to overcome the attraction to the plates 8.9 of the second magnetic means 33 by the first magnetic means 32.

The retaining means 34 which retain the plates 8,9 (Fig. 2 and 4), are located above said plates 8,9 and contact said plates 8,9 at point P. Thus, in the locked position the mentioned plates 8,9, by action of the second magnetic means 33 fit inside the groove 5 preventing the release of the rod 3 from the interior of the housing 30, as previously indicated,

On the contrary, in the unlocking position, the first magnetic means 32 located on the keys 31, overcome the attraction of the second magnetic means 33 on the plates 8,9, attracting said first magnetic means 32 the swinging plates 8,9 at point P, said plates 8,9 being released from the inside of the groove 5 and also releasing the rod 3 from the upper base 2.

At this point, the retaining means 34 fulfill the function of allowing a part of the plates 8,9, the part within the groove 5, to rise, but on the contrary, the retaining means prevent the entire plate 8.9 be attracted, when hitting the point P, then swinging the plate 8.9 as shown in Figure 3.

To facilitate the movements indicated in the previous paragraph, optionally the plates 8.9 comprise a protuberance 35 on which the plates 8.9 swing in the locking-unlocking movements, which facilitate the movement of tilting, with respect to the base on the one that supports the plate 8,9.

Likewise, also optionally, the plates 8,9 comprise two recesses 39 in their upper face for the accommodation of a part of the retaining means 34, the said Point P being located inside. In this way, the reliability of the 8.9 plates will not move from their position, except for the tilt movement.

The inventor has verified that if the second magnetic means 33 are arranged between both plates 8,9, very optimal results are achieved. Said retaining means 34 could be made of the same material as that used in the upper base 2.

The said upper base 2 could be made of a resistant material. Within the resistant materials there is a great cast, for purely exemplary and non-limiting purposes, some type of metal, a hardened plastic, etc. could be chosen.

As indicated above, one of the problems that are saved with the present invention is the fact that the foam, as it does not exist, there is no problem with the possible entry of water into the housing 30.

In addition, this implies the advantage that the patient is allowed to immerse it completely in water, or even clean it with detergents, since they do not affect the magnetic properties of the device of the present invention. That means that the device is not damaged, it is a more reliable device with a longer life.

It is also provided, optionally, in the upper base 2 to practice perforations 36 that connect the housing 30 with the outside. Initially, as shown in Figures 2 and 4, said perforations 36 will be located at the bottom of the upper base 2, to facilitate complete drainage of the housing 30.

In this way, these devices are enabled to be used even under water, since the magnets or magnetic means are not affected and the liquid is also evacuated by said perforations 36.

To further increase the reliability, the inventor has provided that the rod 3 optionally comprises at least one milling 37, at least in the part that is inserted into the upper base 2. Said upper base 2 comprises an opening 38 with a perimeter which is which defines the milled part 37 of the rod 3. This prevents rotation of the rod 3 with respect to the upper base 2. The 8.9 plates adopt the half-moon configuration, in this embodiment, since the shape of the upper base 2 is cylindrical.

The placement of separating means 40 of the plates 8.9 with respect to each other is also provided, thus increasing the reliability that the plates 8.9 will always return to the properly adjusted locking position. That is, the centering of the plates 8,9 is improved in the locking and unlocking operations of the rod 3, which entails the advantage that the plates 8,9 are always well positioned when returning to the locked position.

Thus, if it were necessary to separate the device, that is, the lower base 1 from the upper base 2, it would proceed as follows.

The key 31 would be placed on the upper base 2, such that the first magnetic means 32, for example a magnet, are close enough so that its attractive force can move the metal plates 8.9.

Thus, the first magnetic means 32 as having an attractive force greater than the second magnetic means 33 attract the plates 8,9, which as indicated above, are metallic, and are inclined, leaving the inside of the groove 5.

As explained in more detail above, the plates 8.9 only incline, due to the effect on them of the retaining means 34, which retain the plates 8.9 by the point P and prevent them from moving.

Once said plates 8,9 are out of the slot 5, the rod 3 is free and can be removed from the inside of the upper base 2.

The key 31 is then removed from the upper base 2 and the plates 8.9 return to their resting position.

If it were desired to place a device on a patient to fix a hospital belt, the stem 3 would be introduced through the opening 38 (milled as in figure 6 or not milled) would be pushed in until the resistance of the plates 8,9 is overcome.

Then said plates 8,9 are repositioned by placing a part thereof within the groove 5, achieving the resting position, and the rod 3 being consequently locked inside the upper housing 2 by the plates 8 , 9.

In this way, the device is completely blocked, preventing the rotation of the rod 3, if the patient would like to rotate it to watch it free.

The present invention describes a new safety device for belts. The examples mentioned herein are not limiting of the present invention, therefore it may have different applications and / or adaptations, all of them within the scope of the following claims.

Claims

1 .- Safety device for belts, of the type comprising at least two bases, a lower (1) and a removable upper (2) that defines a housing (30) inside, a rod (3) integral with the base lower (1) that is fixed on the upper base (2), a key (31) with first magnetic means (32) that is arranged on the upper base (2) and because it comprises:

- a groove (5) around the rod (3), which when the rod (3) is fixed to the upper base (2), is said groove (5) located inside the upper base (2), in the housing (30 ),

- blocking means, with two metal plates (8,9) facing each other, in the housing (30), which in the locked position fit inside the groove (5),

characterized in that it comprises:

- a second magnetic means (33) inside the housing (30), arranged below the plates (8,9) with a force of attraction lower than the first magnetic means (32) of the key (31), Y

- retaining means (34) that retain the plates (8.9), located above said plates (8.9) and that contact said plates (8.9) at point P,

that in the locked position said plates (8,9), by action of the second magnetic means (33) fit inside the groove (5) preventing the release of the rod (3) from inside the housing (30) and that in the unlocked position, the first magnetic means (32) overcome the attraction of the second magnetic means (33) on the plates (8.9) by attracting the plates (8.9) that swing at the point P, releasing said plates (8,9) inside the groove (5) and also releasing the rod (3) from the upper base (2).

2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the plates (8,9) comprise a protuberance (35) on which the plates (8,9) swing in the locking-unlocking movements.

3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the plates (8,9) comprise two slits (39) in their upper face for housing a part of the retaining means (34).

4. - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the second magnetic means (33) are arranged between both plates (8,9).

5. - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper base (2) comprises perforations (36) that connect the housing (30) with the outside.

6. Device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rod (3) comprises a milling (37), at least in the part that is inserted into the upper base (2), and said upper base comprises an opening (38) with a perimeter that defines the milled part (37) of the stem (3).

7. Device according to claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the plates (8,9) adopt the half-moon configuration.

8. Device according to claim 7, characterized in that it comprises means (40) separating the plates (8,9) from each other.
