Definitions
- This paper relates to the field of data transmission technology in wireless local area network (WLAN) technology, especially a data transmission method and station based on dynamic channel detection.
- WLAN wireless local area network
- the IEEE 802.11 group of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers has defined a series of standards such as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac to meet the growing demand for communication.
- the dynamic channel detection threshold is an alternative technology for improving the channel multiplexing rate and solving the network efficiency, which has attracted extensive attention and research.
- a basic service set (BSS, Basic Service Set) can be formed by an access point (AP, Access Point) and a plurality of stations (STA, Station) associated therewith.
- BSS Basic Service Set
- 802.11 supports two methods of channel idle determination for physical carrier detection and virtual carrier detection. When both virtual carrier detection and physical carrier detection determine that the channel is idle, the associated station can perform contention transmission.
- the physical carrier detection refers to the CSA (Clear Channel Assessment) channel detection technology, that is, the associated station detects whether the channel is busy or idle by detecting the signal strength on the medium and combining the CCA threshold.
- the CCA threshold is usually fixed at the receiving sensitivity at the lowest modulation coding rate to ensure maximum reception coverage.
- the virtual carrier detection refers to a third-party associated station other than the communication parties.
- the local network allocation vector (NAV is set according to the value of the duration field in the radio frame.
- the value of Network Allocation Vector), NAV is a counter. When the NAV is not zero, the channel is considered busy and no contention is sent.
- the CCA channel detection technique has always used a fixed threshold as a criterion for judging the busyness of the channel, thus reducing channel access opportunities in some scenarios.
- STA1 is associated with AP1
- STA2 is associated with AP2.
- a solid single arrow line indicates that a radio frame is transmitted to a target receiving station
- a dotted single arrow line indicates that a radio frame signal arrives at a third party station.
- STA1 and STA2 can successfully transmit data to respective APs respectively, when STA1 sends to AP1
- STA2 monitors the signal strength of STA1 to -70dBm, which is greater than the CCA threshold (-82dBm).
- the channel is considered busy, but in fact, STA2 sends to AP2.
- the signal because STA2's signal strength to AP1 is much lower than the signal strength of STA1 to AP1, will not cause interference to the reception of AP1, and AP2 can successfully receive the signal of STA2.
- DSC dynamic sensitivity control/Dynamic Sensitivity Control
- STA1 detects that the signal energy that STA 2 is transmitting is -70 dB before transmitting data to AP1, and the channel detection threshold of STA1 after DSC is higher than -70 dB, therefore, STA1 ignores the signal of STA2, thereby Access the channel and transfer data to AP1.
- DSC DSC
- Sites outside the range are not heard by the DSC site when such a site is using the channel, and the DSC site may use the channel at this time to interfere with the data transmission of the site. The closer the two are, the closer the two are. The greater the possibility of being disturbed. The more such sites, the greater the probability of collisions, thereby reducing the reliability of current transmissions in data transmission for dynamic channel detection.
