Abstract

The invention relates to devices for preparing food on an open fire. A device has been developed for preparing food on an open fire that is compact, fast and easy to assemble, and convenient for use, even on a hiking tour. The device, containing a barbecue grill which can be opened with a handle, additionally comprises two separate identical supports, where each support is designed as a pointed rod in order to fix it firmly in the soil and connected in the upper part by means of a U-shaped clamp to support the barbecue grill; and containing a rod-shaped grill holder, where one end is folded at a 90 degree angle forming a bracing element of the top edge of the grill, and the other end is folded at a 90 degree angle and sharpened in order to fix it firmly in the soil, and fitted with a handle; furthermore, the holder is divisible in its middle section.

A FOLDABLE DEVICE FOR

PREPARING FOOD ON AN OPEN FIRE

The invention relates to devices for preparing food on an open fire.

Grill is a device for cooking food by applying heat directly from below. Grilling is fast and direct roasting of meat, fruit, vegetables or other products on fire. An openable barbecue grill is most commonly applied for grilling.

There is a known device for food cooking on an open fire, which consists of metal skewers and the elements for their retention and rotation in the form of a horizontal rectangular frame [1 ]. The device is comparatively complicated, incompact, and not easy to use on a hiking tour.

There is a known foldable device, which consists of dismountable barbecue grills and sidewalls, which during transportation are folded into each other. The device rests against four vertical support feet [2]. The device is incompact, heavy, and inconvenient for assembling on a hiking tour.

There is a known device for food cooking on an open fire, which consists of a long handle, fitted on the top with a fork for piercing and roasting meat or other products [3]. The device is inconvenient for use, because all the time it must be hold in hands above an open fire.

There are known devices for holding barbecue grills [4-10]. All of these devices are incompact, inconvenient to use on a hiking tour.

The objective of the invention is to develop such device for cooking food on an open fire, which would be compact, fast and easy to assemble, easy to use on a hiking tour as well.

The objective is reached thanks to that the device for food cooking on an open fire, a barbecue grill which can be opened with a handle, additionally comprises two separate identical supports, where each support is designed as a pointed rod in order to fix it firmly in the soil and connected in the upper part by means of a U-shaped clamp to support the barbecue grill; and containing a rod-shaped grill holder, where one end is folded at a 90 degree angle forming a bracing element of the top edge of the grill, and the other end is folded at a 90 degree angle and sharpened in order to fix it firmly in the soil, and fitted with a handle; furthermore, the holder is divisible in its middle section.

The invention is explained with drawing (fig.1 and fig. 2), where the foldable device for food cooking on an open fire is depicted schematically. The device consists of certain openable barbecue grills with a handle (1 ), two separate identical supports (2). Each support is designed as 150-200 mm long pointed rod (3) to fix it firmly in the soil and connected with a U-shaped clamp (4) in the upper part barbecue grill (1 ) support. The rods are round or rectangular cross-sections made from metal. The U- shaped clamps (4) are made from metal and their dimensions are 20-30x40-50x20-30 mm. The device contains a barbecue grill (1) 700-800 mm long rod-shaped holder (5), where one end is folded at a 90° degree angle forming 50-100 mm long bracing element (6) of the top edge of the barbecue grill (1), but the second end (7) is folded at a 90 degree angle and sharpened in order to fix it firmly in the soil. The length of the sharpened end (7) is 100-150 mm. The holder (5) is fitted with a handle (8), moreover, the holder (5) is divisible in its middle section (9).

The foldable device for food cooking on an open fire functions in the following manner. Two identical supports (2) at a certain necessary distance from each other are fixed firmly with the sharpened ends (3) in the soil next to an open fire. The openable barbecue grills (1) with products are vertically supported by U-shaped clamps (4). The barbecue grills (1) are fixed in the U-shaped clamps (4) with the help of the rod-shaped holder's (5) bracing element (6), but the sharpened ends (7) are fixed firm in the soil. Food is cooked on an open fire, close to the flame. The distance between the flame and products must be at least the width of the wrist. When cooking products in such manner, for instance, roasting meat, fat shall not drip on fire, thereby without causing flares, which is important to protect meat from burning. Furthermore, if fat does not drip on flames, no harmful substances would appear. During the barbecuing process the degree of readiness of the product can be determined more precisely as the barbecue grills (1) are positioned vertically and are easy to look over. With the help of the sharpened end (7) of the holder (5), by fixing it in another place, the barbecue grill (1) angle against the open fire flames, depending on the necessity of products cooking process, can be changed. Food cooked by applying the claimed device is juicy with flavoursome taste, this way is particularly good for cooking meat. After cooking food the device is easily and quickly dissembled and assembled in a compact form. Since the holder (5) is divisible in its middle section the device can be easily used on hiking tours as well. References:

Claims

1. A foldable device for food cooking on an open fire, which consists of a barbecue grill which can be opened with a handle, distinguished by containing additionally two separate identical supports, furthermore, each support is designed as a pointed rod for fixing firmly in the soil and connected in the upper part by means of a U-shaped clamp to support the barbecue grill; and containing a rod-shaped grill holder, where one end is folded at a 90 degree angle forming a bracing element of the top edge of the grill, and the other end is folded at a 90 degree angle and sharpened in order to fix it firmly in the soil, and fitted with a handle; furthermore, the holder is divisible in its middle section.

2. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the length of the support rod makes up 150-200 mm, but the dimensions of the U-shaped clamps are 20-30x40- 50x20-30 mm.

3. The device according to claim 1, wherein the length of the holder is 700- 800 mm, the length of the bracing element is 50-100 mm, but the length of the sharpened end is 100-150 mm.

4. The device according to claim 1, wherein the rods are round cross-sections and are made from metal.

5. The device according to claim 1, wherein the rods are rectangular cross- sections and are made from metal.
