Abstract

The present invention relates to: a method for increasing a rubber content of a plant by treating the plant with methanol or methylotrophic bacteria; and a composition, containing methanol or methylotrophic bacteria as an active ingredient, for increasing a rubber content of a plant. Unlike existing genetic engineering techniques, the method of the present invention allows the treatment to be performed at any time during the cultivation period before harvest, and eliminates the need of high-cost LMO stability evaluation procedures.
