Abstract
Description
第1に、実施形態に係る通信方法は、無線LANのカバレッジエリアの少なくとも一部が移動通信網のカバレッジエリアと重複している場合に、前記移動通信網と前記無線LANとの間で待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替える切替処理を行う方法である。通信方法は、前記移動通信網側の第1情報が第1条件を満たしており、かつ、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしている状態が所定期間に亘って継続する場合に、前記切替処理を実行するステップAを備える。前記ステップAは、前記無線LAN側の第2情報に設定された有効期間が満了していない場合に、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が前記第2条件を満たしているか否かを判定するステップを含む。
(通信システム)
以下において、第1実施形態に係る通信システムについて説明する。図1は、第1実施形態に係る通信システム1を示す図である。
第1実施形態において、移動通信網と無線LANとの間で待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替える切替処理(例えば、ネットワークセレクション又はトラフィックステアリング)を行う方法について説明する。具体的には、移動通信網側の第1情報が第1条件を満たしており、かつ、無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしている状態が所定期間に亘って継続する場合に、切替処理(例えば、ネットワークセレクション又はトラフィックステアリング)が実行される。
移動通信網から無線LANに対して待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替える第1条件は、例えば、以下の条件(1a)又は(1b)のいずれかが満たされることである。但し、第1条件は、以下の条件(1a)~(1b)の全てが満たされることであってもよい。

無線LANから移動通信網に対して待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替える第1条件は、例えば、以下の条件(2a)及び(2b)が満たされることである。但し、第1条件は、以下の条件(2a)又は(2b)のいずれかが満たされることであってもよい。

(2d)BackhaulRateDlWLAN<ThreshBackhRateDLWLAN,Low

以下において、第1実施形態に係る無線端末について説明する。図2は、第1実施形態に係る無線端末10を示すブロック図である。
以下において、切替処理の判定について、移動通信網から無線LANに対する切替処理を例に挙げて説明する。
以下において、第1実施形態に係る通信方法について説明する。図5は、第1実施形態に係る通信方法を示すシーケンス図である。ここでは、移動通信網から無線LANに対する切替処理を例に挙げて説明する。
第1実施形態では、無線端末10は、無線LAN側の第2情報に設定された有効期間が満了していない場合に、無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしているか否かを判定する。言い換えると、無線端末10は、無線LAN側の第2情報に設定された有効期間が満了している場合に、無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしていないものと扱う。従って、非常に古い第2情報の参照によって切替処理が実行される事態が抑制され、適切な切替処理を実行することができる。
以下において、第1実施形態の変更例1について説明する。以下においては、第1実施形態に対する相違点について主として説明する。
以下において、切替処理の判定について、移動通信網から無線LANに対する切替処理を例に挙げて説明する。図6及び図7は、上述した図3及び図4と類似するため、重複部分の説明については省略する。
以下において、第1実施形態に係る通信方法について説明する。図8は、第1実施形態に係る通信方法を示すシーケンス図である。ここでは、移動通信網から無線LANに対する切替処理を例に挙げて説明する。図8は、図6と類似するため、重複部分の説明については省略する。
変更例1では、無線LAN側の第2情報を取得する周期として所定取得周期が設定されている。言い換えると、無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしている状態が所定期間に亘って継続しているか否かを十分な数のサンプル(第2情報)によって判定することができる。従って、第2情報の信頼性が向上し、適切な切替処理を実行することができる。また、結果として非常に古い第2情報の参照によって切替処理が実行される事態が抑制され、適切な切替処理を実行することができる。
以下において、第1実施形態の変更例2について説明する。以下においては、第1実施形態に対する相違点について主として説明する。
変更例2では、無線端末10は、移動通信網側の第1情報が第1条件を満たすと判定した後に、無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たすか否かを判定する。従って、第1情報が第1条件を満たしていないケースにおいてまで、第2情報が第2条件を満たすか否かの判定が並列処理で行われることによって、第2情報が第2条件を満たすか否かの判定が無駄になる事態が抑制される。
本発明は上述した実施形態によって説明したが、この開示の一部をなす論述及び図面は、この発明を限定するものであると理解すべきではない。この開示から当業者には様々な代替実施形態、実施例及び運用技術が明らかとなろう。

Claims (5)
- 無線LANのカバレッジエリアの少なくとも一部が移動通信網のカバレッジエリアと重複している場合に、前記移動通信網と前記無線LANとの間で待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替えるための所定の処理を行う無線端末であって、
前記移動通信網側の第1情報が第1条件を満たしており、かつ、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしている状態が所定期間に亘って継続する場合に、前記所定の処理を実行する制御部を備え、
前記制御部は、前記無線LAN側の第2情報に設定された有効期間が満了していない場合に、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が前記第2条件を満たしているか否かを判定することを特徴とする無線端末。 - 前記制御部は、前記移動通信網側のエンティティから通知される前記有効期間を受信する処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の無線端末。
- 無線LANのカバレッジエリアの少なくとも一部が移動通信網のカバレッジエリアと重複している場合に、前記移動通信網と前記無線LANとの間で待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替えるための所定の処理を行う無線端末であって、
前記移動通信網側の第1情報が第1条件を満たしており、かつ、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしている状態が所定期間に亘って継続する場合に、前記所定の処理を実行する制御部を備え、
前記無線LAN側の第2情報を取得する周期として所定取得周期が設定されていることを特徴とする無線端末。 - 前記制御部は、前記移動通信網側のエンティティから通知される前記所定取得周期を受信する処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の無線端末。
- 無線LANのカバレッジエリアの少なくとも一部が移動通信網のカバレッジエリアと重複している場合に、前記移動通信網から前記無線LANに対して待ち受け先又は接続先を切り替えるための所定の処理を行う無線端末であって、
前記移動通信網側の第1情報が第1条件を満たしており、かつ、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たしている状態が所定期間に亘って継続する場合に、前記所定の処理を実行する制御部を備え、
前記制御部は、前記移動通信網側の第1情報が前記第1条件を満たすと判定した後に、前記無線LAN側の第2情報が第2条件を満たすか否かを判定することを特徴とする無線端末。
