Definitions
- the present invention refers to a device for interrupting a primary electric circuit in an electrically driven vehicle, in particular in vehicle crash situation, namely of a circuit between each electric driving unit and each electric energy source.
- the purpose of the invention is to create a primary electric circuit interrupting device, in particular for electric vehicles and especially a crash-activated one, namely for interruption of a circuit between each electric driving unit and each electric energy source for energizing said electric driving unit, wherein such device should without any undesired effect, in particular without forming electric arc, flame, smoke or explosion, enable total interruption of each electric interconnection between each electric driving unit and each disposable electric energy source for energizing said electric driving unit including any other electric components, which are connected to each conductor for connecting of said electric driving unit with said electric energy source, and simultaneously, when said electric energy source is a battery, the device should also contribute to intensive discharging of said battery.
- a fuse with a melting member which is capable to interrupt an electric circuit extending there-through, is disclosed in a published international application WO 2014/065763.
- Such fuse comprises a body, which consists of electric insulating material and by which each disposable melting member is surrounded, which is adjusted to each nominal electric current value and is electrically connected with each disposable electric contacts, which are arranged on the external surface of said fuse body and by means of which the fuse can be integrated into each primary electric circuit, which is then protected by means of said fuse.
- such fuse comprises a resistor, in particular a voltage-dependent resistor, namely a varistor, the resistance of which is reciprocally correlated with voltage to which it is exposed, wherein said resistor is arranged adjacent to said melting member and therefore in a heat-conductive relationship with said melting member.
- Said resistor is electrically connected into a secondary electric circuit by means of least one switch, which can be activated, when desired, independently on conditions in the primary circuit.
- Such solution is generally suitable for interruption of a primary electric circuit in an electrically driven vehicle in a vehicle crash situation. Whenever said resistor is a classic resistor, electric arc is generated by closing said switch and establishing said secondary electric circuit.
- the present invention refers to a primary electric circuit interrupting device, in particular for electric vehicles and especially a crash-activated one, wherein such device is suitable for integration between each electric driving unit and each electric energy source for energizing said electric driving unit, and wherein said electric driving unit and said electric energy source are via two electric conductors connected with each other into a primary electric circuit, and wherein said device is furnished with at least one fuse comprising an integrated melting member and a varistor which is intended for emergency interruption of said melting member.
- each of said electric conductors which are intended to connect each driving unit with each electric energy source, a fuse with a melting member and a varistor is integrated, so that in each electric conductor said driving unit and said electric energy source are interconnected via the melting member of said fuse.
- the varistor in each fuse the varistor is arranged in a heat-conductive relationship with each belonging melting member, and simultaneously, each of said varistors is electrically interconnected with a switch, which is adapted for establishing or interruption of electric contact between said varistors of both fuses.
- Each varistor is preferably soldered to each belonging melting member in each fuse, and said switch is preferably an autonomously energized electromagnetic switch.
- Fig. 1 is a schematically presented especially crash- activated primary electric circuit interrupting device, in particular for electric vehicles.
- An especially crash-activated primary electric circuit interrupting device, in particular for electric vehicles, which is shown in Fig. 1 is suitable for integration between each electric driving unit 1 and each electric energy source 2 in a vehicle.
- Said electric energy source 2 in electric vehicles is usually an accumulator i.e. a battery functioning as a high-voltage DC source, whilst said driving unit 1 is a suitable electric motor.
- the driving unit 1 and the electric energy source 2 are via two electric conductors 21, 22 electrically connectable with each other into a primary electric circuit.
- each of said electric conductors 21, 22 is furnished with a fuse 3', 3" with a melting member 31 ', 31" and a varistor 32', 32", so that in each of said electric conductors 21, 22 the electric driving unit 1 is connected with each electric energy source 2 via the melting member 3 ⁇ , 31 " of each fuse 3', 3".
- said melting member 3 ⁇ , 31 " is molten, by which said primary electric circuit is interrupted.
- Each of said varistors 32', 32" is intended for emergency interruption of said circuit in the area of each belonging melting member 3 , 32" eventhough the electric current in the melting member 31 ', 31 " is lower than a pre-determined value, which would lead to melting of each melting member 3 , 31 " due to excessive current.
- Each varistor 32', 32" is an electric resistor, the electric resistance of which is reciprocally correlated with electric voltage.
- the invention provides that each varistor 32', 32" in each of said fuses 3', 3" is arranged both in electric contact and heat-conductive contact with each belonging melting member 3 , 31". Most preferred, said varistor 32', 32" is simply soldered to the melting member 31 ', 31 " of each fuse 3', 3".
- each of said varistors 32', 32" is electrically connected with a switch 4, which is suitable for establishing or interruption of electric contact between both varistors 32', 32" of said fuses 3', 3".
- Said switch 4 is preferably an electromagnetic switch, which is energized autonomously, e.g. by 12 V voltage.
- said switch 4 is deactivated, and the primary electric circuit between the driving unit 1 and each electric energy source 2 is established via said electric conductors with integrated fuses 3', 3" with melting members 3 , 31 ".
