Description

Display device and television receiver
The present invention relates to a display device and a television receiver including a support portion that supports a peripheral portion of a liquid crystal panel that displays an image on the front side from the back side.
A thin display device that occupies a small area compared to the size of the display screen is generally widely used because it can effectively use a limited indoor space. As the structure of this type of display device, the following has been proposed and publicly known. The display device includes, for example, a support portion that supports a peripheral portion of a liquid crystal panel that displays an image on the front surface from the back side, and a backlight housing that irradiates light on the back surface of the liquid crystal panel. The casing has a support portion overlapped on a side edge, and an engagement protrusion and an engagement hole provided in each overlapping portion are engaged and fixed, and the liquid crystal panel and the circuit board attached to the casing are overlapped. Some are connected by a flexible substrate that curves along the line. Further, some cases have a structure in which a support portion is fixed to the case with screws (for example, Patent Document 1).
In the display device described in Patent Document 1, various components are arranged so that the position of the flexible substrate and the protruding portion do not contact with each other in order to prevent the flexible substrate and the protruding portion such as the engagement protrusion or the screw from contacting each other. .
Incidentally, in recent years, it has been required to use the same parts for other display devices from the viewpoint of unifying the parts in the display devices. However, when the same display panel is used in a plurality of types of display devices, the distance between the protrusion provided on the support and the flexible substrate may be short. For this reason, when a display apparatus vibrates with external force, there exists a possibility that a flexible substrate may be damaged because a projection part contacts a flexible substrate.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a display device and a television receiver that prevent damage to a flexible substrate.

Irradiated to the back.
The liquid crystal panel 1 is connected to a circuit board 6 supported on the outer back surface of the backlight chassis 4 via an SOF (System On Film) 5. An SOF (flexible wiring) 5 is a flexible substrate (wiring) on which a driver LSI for driving the liquid crystal panel 1 is mounted on one surface, and one end is connected to the lower side portion 1a of the liquid crystal panel 1, and the front cabinet 10 and the panel chassis are connected. 3 is connected to the circuit board 6 at the other end which is led out to the back side through the space between the opposing surfaces 3 and bent upward. A plurality of circuit boards 6 are arranged side by side in the left-right direction, and the SOF 5 is led out to the outside at a position corresponding to each circuit board 6.
A signal circuit (not shown) is formed on each circuit board 6. The signal circuit outputs a display drive signal based on the video data output from the signal processing unit 12 to the driver LSI included in the SOF 5.
FIG. 4 is a conceptual diagram of the chassis member 30 constituting the panel chassis 3. As shown in the figure, the chassis member 30 is an angle member having an L-shaped cross section having a front plate 31 and side plates (extending portions) 32 that intersect at a substantially right angle. The side plate 32 is extended in the direction orthogonal to the panel chassis 3 along the longitudinal direction, and is missing over a suitable length at a plurality of locations in the longitudinal direction. Engaging plates (projections) 33 extending from the front plate 31 toward the same side and used for engaging and fixing the backlight chassis 4 are provided at nine locations equally spaced in the longitudinal direction of the chassis member 30. .
FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of the main part of FIG. 4 and shows the central part of the chassis member 30 and the left end part of the chassis member 30. As shown in the figure, the engagement plate 33 provided at each position is provided with an engagement hole 331 having a rectangular cross section extending in the left-right direction along the longitudinal direction of the chassis member 30. Thick portions 332 are provided on the left and right sides of 331 along the respective side edges.
As shown in FIG. 3, the chassis member 30 configured in this way is arranged with the front plate 31 facing forward and the side plate 32 facing downward. At this time, the engaging plate 33 protrudes in parallel with the extending portion at an appropriate interval below the side plate 32. Further, the thick portions 332 located on the left and right of the engagement hole 331 extend downward from the lower surface of the engagement plate 33.
The method of attaching the chassis member 30 to the backlight chassis 4 is as follows. As shown in FIG. 3, the chassis member 30 abuts the side plate 32 on the side wall 41 of the backlight chassis 4, moves it in the left-right direction, slides the side wall 41 between the side plate 32 and the engagement plate 33, and The side plate 32 is fixed to the lower end of the backlight chassis 4 by engaging the engaging protrusion 42 protruding from the surface on the protruding portion side with the engaging hole 331, and attached to the backlight chassis 4.
In the above description, only the lower part of the display device is illustrated and described. However, the chassis member 30 can be attached to the backlight chassis 4 on the right side, the left side, and the upper part by the same attachment method.
The SOF 5 is connected to the circuit board 6 through the lower portion of the engagement plate 33. At this time, since the plurality of SOFs 5 can be brought into contact with the thick portion 332 to avoid contact with the engaging protrusions 42, damage to the SOFs 5 by the engaging protrusions 42 can be prevented. Further, the thick portion 332 serves as a reinforcement for the engagement plate 33.
Also, the backlight chassis 4 and the panel chassis 3 may be fixed with screws. When the backlight chassis 4 and the panel chassis 3 are fixed with screws, the SOF 5 may be damaged by the screws coming into contact with the SOF 5. Since the display device in the present embodiment can avoid contact with the screws by bringing a plurality of SOFs 5 into contact with the thick portion 332, damage to the SOFs 5 due to the screws can be prevented.
Embodiment 2
FIG. 6 is an enlarged conceptual diagram showing a main part of the chassis member 30 according to the second embodiment.
