Abstract

The invention relates to a novel rail (DTS dual-groove rail) which permits rail vehicles and intermodal vehicles equipped with the DTS wheel to deviate without an active point. In existing normal or vignole rails, only the inner face of the rail is actively used. Normal rail wheels travel within the two rails and are guided in various directions by active points. This is particularly apparent in tramway rails, where the outer face is directly connected to the road surface. The DTS rail has two continuous grooves on each face. The rail is also continuous. A closed Y is formed at a branch.
