Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Reizung von Nerven- und Muskelzellen nach dem Prinzip der Magnetstimulation, wobei die Erfindung bei gleicher Reizstärke eine deutlich verringerte Schallemission im Vergleich zum Stand der Technik aufweist. Die Schallemission in der Form eines Klickgeräusches, das in der Magnetstimulation einerseits ein wichtiges Sicherheitsrisiko und andererseits eine unerwünschte unkontrollierbare sensorisch-auditorische Hirnreizung hervorruft, wird in der vorliegenden Erfindung durch Erhöhung der Frequenz eines wesentlichen Anteils des Spektrums des Pulses, vorzugsweise bis an oder über den menschlichen Hörbereich hinaus, verringert. Ferner betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung eine leisere Spulentechnologie, die die Umwandlung von elektrischer Energie in mechanisch-akustische Schwingungen verringert, deren Weiterleitung an die Oberfläche durch elastische Entkopplung unterbindet und stattdessen die mechanisch-akustische Energie über viskoelastische Materialverformung in Wärme umwandelt.
