Abstract
터치 패널이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 의하면, 기판; 상기 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부; 상기 제1 음각부에 형성되는 제1 감지전극; 및 상기 기판에 형성되는 제2 감지전극;을 포함하는, 터치 패널이 제공된다.
Description
실시예는 터치 패널에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 외부로부터의 터치 자극을 감지하는 감지전극 및 감지전극과 연결되는 배선을 기판의 표면에 직접적으로 형성되는 음각에 배치하여 내구성이 향상되고 두께가 감소된 터치 패널에 관한 것이다.
디지털 기술의 발전에 부응하여 입력장치를 통해 텍스트 및 그래픽 등에 관 한 정보를 처리하고 있다. 하지만, 키보드나 마우스와 같은 단순한 입력장치만으로
는 정보화 사회에서 요구되는 다양한 기능을 충족시키는 데에 한계가 존재하여 터 치 패널이 개발되었다.
터치 패널이란, 터치 방식에 의해 입력되는 정보를 감지할 수 있는 장치이다. 개인 휴대 정보 단말기(PDA), 노트북 컴퓨터, OA 기기, 의료기기 또는 카 네비게이션 시스템 등의 전자기기에서는 영상이 표시되는 영역에 사람의 손 또는 물체 등을 이용한 터치 입력을 감지하기 위한 터치 패널이 널리 이용되고 있다. 즉, 터치 패널은 액정표시장치 등의 평판 표시 장치의 디스플레이면에 장착되어 사용자로부터 터치 자극을 입력받아 원하는 정보와 연동하도록 이용된다.
터치 패널이 외부로부터의 터치 자극을 감지하는 대표적인 방식으로는 정전 용량 방식, 저항막 방식, 전자 유도 방식, 광학식 등이 알려져 있으며, 최근에는 정전용량 방식이 널리 사용되고 있다.
이러한 터치 패널은 터치 방식에 의해 입력되는 정보를 전기적인 신호의 형 태로 감지할 수 있어야 하므로, 터치 자극을 감지하기 위한 감지전극 및 이러한 감지전극에서 발생하는 신호변화를 수용하는 회로부를 포함하는 형태로 구성되는 것이 대표적이다.
한편, 감지전극은 터치 자극이 인가되는 좌표를 감지하기 위해서 일반적으로 2가지 방향(예컨대, 종방향 및 횡방향)으로 감지전극들 각각을 배치하는 구조를 갖는다.
그런데, 감지전극이 터치 패널 기판 상에 양각 형태로 형성되는 경우 다음과 같은 문제점이 존재할 수 있다. 첫번째로, 감지전극의 두께만큼 돌출되어 제품의 전체적인 두께가 증대된다. 두번째로, 세정 등의 공정을 거치면서 크랙(crack)이 빈번히 발생할 수 있다는 문제점이 있다.
또한, 감지전극을 형성하기 위해서는 ITO 등과 같은 도전성 물질을 기판의 전면에 도포한 후 감지전극이 형성될 영역을 제외한 영역에 존재하는 도전성 물질은 제거해야 하는데, 이에 따라 재료비가 증가함은 물론 별도 공정의 추가에 따라 생산성이 저하되고, 불량률이 높아질 수 있다는 문제가 있었다.
그리고, 단일 기판의 일면에 서로 다른 방향으로 연장되는 감지전극들을 동 시에 형상하면 교차 영역이 필연적으로 발생하게 되고, 이러한 교차 영역에서 감지 전극을 상호 전기적 절연시켜야 하므로 공정이 복잡해진다는 어려움이 존재한다.

실시예는 전술된 종래기술의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 안출된 것으로서, 일 실시예에 따르면 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면 사용자이 터치 접촉 이 작용하는 기판의 일면에 음각부를 형성하고, 음각부 내에 감지전극 및 배선을 배치함으로써, 터치 패널의 두께를 줄이고 감지 전극의 내구성을 향상시키고자 한 다.
또한, 감지전극을 형성하는 위한 도전성 물질을 기판의 전면에 도포한 후 감지전극 영역을 제외한 부분을 제거할 필요없이 음각부의 내부에만 도전성 물질을 채움으로써, 도전성 물질의 낭비를 방지하여 재료비를 절감하고 공정을 단순화하고 자 한다.
실시예가 이루고자 하는 기술적 과제는 이상에서 언급한 기술적 과제로 제 한되지 않으며 언급되지 않은 또 다른 기술적 과제들은 아래의 기재로부터 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이 다.
실시예의 일 측면에 따르면, 기판; 상기 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부; 상기 제1 음각부에 형성되는 제1 감지전극; 및 상기 기판에 형성되는 제2 감지전극; 을 포함하는, 터 치 패널이 제공된다.

또한, 상기 제2 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 상기 제1 방향과 교차되는 제2 방향으로 연장되는 제3 음각부;를 더 포함하고, 상기 제2 감지전극은 상기 제3 음각부에 형성될 수 있다.

실시예에 따르면 사용자이 터치 접촉이 작용하는 기판의 일면에 음각부를 형성하고, 음각부 내에 감지전극을 배치함으로써, 터치 패널의 두께를 줄이고 감지 전극의 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
또한, 감지전극을 형성하는 위한 도전성 물질을 기판의 전면에 도포한 후 감 지전극 영역을 제외한 부분을 제거할 필요없이 음각부의 내부에만 도전성 물질을 채움으로써, 도전성 물질의 낭비를 방지하여 재료비를 절감하고 공정을 단순화할 수 있다.
한편, 실시예의 효과는 이상에서 언급한 효과들로 제한되지 않으며, 이하에서 설명할 내용으로부터 통상의 기술자에게 자명한 범위 내에서 다양한 효과들이 포함될 수 있다.

명세서 전반에 기재된 '음각부'라는 용어는 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측을 향하여 만입된 공간을 의미하며, 만입부, 홀, 그루브 등의 용어에 한정되지 않는다. 음각부를 가지는 기판은 음각부가 형성된 영역의 두께가 음각부가 형성되지 않은 영역의 두께보다 얇다. 이러한 음각부에는 감지전극(100) 및 배선(20)을 형성하는 물질이 충진될 수 있다.
실시예에 따른 터치 윈도우를 개괄적으로 설명하면, 제1 실시예는 단일 기판(10)에 형성되는 음각부(31,33)에 모든 감지전극(110,120)이 배치되는 구조의 터치 패널에 관한 것이고, 제2 실시예는 감지전극(100) 중 일부가 단일 기판(10)의 음각부(31)가 형성되는 영역에 배치되는 구조의 터치 패널에 관한 것이며, 제3 실시예는 감지전극(100) 중 일부가 제1 기판(11)과는 별도의 제2 기판(12)의 표면에 배치되는 구조의 터치 패널에 관한 것이고, 제4 실시예는 감지전극(100) 중 일부가 제1 기판(11)이 아닌 별도의 제2 기판(12)에 형성되는 음각부(33)에 배치되는 구조의 터치 패널에 관한 것이다.
다음으로, 제1 내지 제4 실시예에 따른 터치 패널의 공통적인 구성을 개략적으로 설명하면, 먼저 도 1 내지 도 8에 도시된 기판(10, 11, 12)은 사용자로부터 터치 자극을 수용하는 구성이다.
이러한 기판은 예를 들어 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET), 폴리카보네이트(PC), 폴리메틸메타아크릴레이트(PMMA), 폴리 에틸렌나프탈레이트(PEN), 폴리에테르술폰(PES), 고리형 올레핀 고분자(COC), TAC(Triacetylcellulose) 필름, 폴리비닐알코올(Polyvinyl alcohol; PVA) 필름, 폴리이미드(Polyimide; PI) 필름, 폴리스틸렌(Polystyrene; PS), 유리, 강화유리 또는 강성기판 등의 다양한 재질을 이용하여 형성될 수 있으며, 소정 강도 이상을 보유한 재질이라면 특별히 한정되는 것은 아니다.
음각부(31,32,33,34)에 의해 기판(10,11,12)의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 만입되는 깊이는 3.5μm 이상 4.5μm 이하일 수 있고, 기판의 두께 대비 음각부의 깊이는 250: 1~2의 관계를 만족하는 것이 바람직하지만 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고 터치 패널의 용도에 따라 다양한 깊이를 갖도록 설계될 수 있으며, 각 음각부의 깊이는 서로 같거나 다를 수 있다는 것은 자명하다. 이러한 음각부는 기판의 일면에 DFR(Dry Film Photoresist)를 도포하고, 음각부의 형상과 대응하는 영역이 개방된 마스크를 기판(10)의 일면에 정렬한 후 마스크의 개방된 영역을 통해 레이저를 조사하는 등의 다양한 방식을 통해 형성될 수 있다.
감지전극(100)은 화면영역(V/A)에 형성되어 사람 또는 물체에 의한 터치 자극을 감지하는 구성이다. 이러한 감지전극(100)은 전도성 고분자로 형성될 수 있으며, 구체적으로 폴리아닐린, 폴리아세틸렌 또는 폴리페닐렌비닐렌 등으로 형성될 수 있다. 그 밖에도 ITO(indium-tin oxide), 유기투명전극재료인 탄소나노튜브, 그래핀, ZnO(zinc oxide), SnO2(tin oxide) 등의 물질이 사용될 수 있으며, 그 외에도 다양한 물질의 투명전극으로 당업자에 의한 선택 및 변경이 가능함은 자명하다.
또한, 감지 전극은 에칭(etching), 포토 리소그라피(photolithography), 스퍼터링(sputtering) 또는 스크린 인쇄기법(screen printing) 등 다양한 방식을 이용하여 형성될 수 있다.
이하, 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 실시예를 더욱 상세하게 설명하기로 한다.

도 1 내지 도 5를 참조하면, 제1 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 기 판(10), 제1 음각부(31), 제2 음각부(32), 제3 음각부(33), 제4 음각부(34), 제1 감지전극(110), 제2 감지전극(120), 제1 배선(21) 및 제2 배선(22)을 포함한다. 이때, 기판(10)은 강성기판 또는 커버윈도우일 수 있다.
제1 음각부(31)는 기판(10)의 일면으로부터 타면측으로(즉, 두께방향으로) 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입하여 제1 방향으로 연장되는 구성이고, 제3 음각부(33)는 기판(10)의 상기 일면으로부터 두께방향으로 소정 깊이의 오목하게 만입하여 제2 방향으로 연장되는 구성이다. 여기서 제1 방향과 제2 방향은 예컨대 각각 종방향과 횡방향일 수 있으며, 상호 직교하는 것이 바람직하지만 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
제1 감지전극(110)은 제1 음각부(31)에 형성된다. 구체적으로, 제1 감지전 극(110)은 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부(31)에 배치되어, 제1 음각부(31)를 통해 제1 방향으로 연장된다.
제2 감지전극(120)은 제3 음각부(33)에 형성된다. 구체적으로, 제2 감지전극(120)은 제2 방향으로 연장되는 제3 음각부(33)에 배치되어, 제3 음각부(33)를 통해 제2 방향으로 연장된다.
또한, 감지전극(100)과 연결되는 배선(20)이 기판(10)에 형성될 수 있는데, 구체적으로 배선(20)은 기판(10)의 표면에 양각으로 형성되거나, 음각부에 형성될 수 있다. 이하에서는, 배선(20)이 음각부에 형성되는 실시예를 기준으로 설명하기로 한다.
제2 음각부(32)는 기판(10)의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입되어 제1 음각부(31)와 연결되는 구성이고, 제4 음각부(34)는 기판(10)의 일면으로부터 두께방향으로 소정 깊이의 오목하게 만입되어 제3 음각부(33)와 연결되는 구성이다.
제1 배선(21)은 제2 음각부(32)에 형성될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 제1 배선(21)은 제1 음각부(31)와 연결되는 제2 음각부(32)에 배치되어, 제1 감지전극(110)과 전기적으로 연결된다. 또한, 제2 배선(22)은 제4 음각부(34)에 형성될 수 있다. 제2 배선(22)은 제3 음각부(33)와 연결되는 제4 음각부(34)에 배치되어, 제2 감지전극(120)과 전기적으로 연결된다. 도 2에는 제1 배선(21)과 제2 배선(22)이 모두 음각부에 배치되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고 어느 하나만이 음각부에 배치될 수도 있다.
도 4와 5를 참조하면, 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 기판(10)과 대향하는 커버 윈도우(CW)를 더 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 기판(10)과 커버 윈도우의 합착을 위해 기판(10)과 커버 윈도우의 사이에는 OCA(optical clear adhesive) 등을 이용하여 접착층(50)이 형성될 수 있다.
도 1 내지 도 5에는 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 다이아몬드(마름모) 형상의 단위셀들이 각각 제1 방향과 제2 방향으로 형성되는 것으로 도시되어있으나, 다이아몬드(마름모) 형상으로 한정되는 것은 아니고, 바(bar), 사각형, 원형, 타원형 등의 다양한 형상을 가질 수 있다. 이러한 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)은 구동 전극(Tx) 및 센싱 전극(Rx)의 역할을 수행할 수 있는데, 일 예로서 제1 감지전극(110)이 구동 전극(Tx)으로 역할하면 제2 감지전극(120)은 센싱 전극(Rx)의 역할을 하고, 제1 감지전극(110)이 센싱 전극(Rx)으로 역할하면 제2 감지전극(120)은 구동 전극(Tx)의 역할을 할 수 있다.
이때, 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 기판(10)의 동일한 일면에 형성되면 서로 다른 면에 형성되는 구조와는 달리, 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)은 서로 다른 방향으로 연장 형성되므로 서로 교차되는 영역이 필연적으로 발생한다. 절연부(40)는 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 각각 제1 방향과 제2 방향에서 교차하는 영역에서 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(200)의 사이에 형성될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 도 2 내지 를 참조하면, 제1 실시예에서는 제1 감지전극(100)과 제2 감지전극(200)은 모두 단일 기판(10)의 양면 중 동일한 면에 함께 형성되기 때문에 상호 교차하는 영역에서의 절연을 위해서 도 2 내지 5에 도시된 바와 같이 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)의 사이에 절연부(40)를 배치할 수 있다. 이 경우, 제1 방향 및 제2 방향으로 상호 교차하는 영역에서 서로 이격된 제2 감지전극(120)들을 서로 연결시키기 위한 브릿지 전극(121)이 각 절연부(40) 상에 형성될 수 있다.
제1 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 제1 및 제3 음각부(31, 33)에 제1 감지전극(110) 및 제2 감지전극(120)을 모두 형성함으로써, 내구성을 향상시키고, 감지전극의 두께만큼 터치 패널의 두께를 줄일 수 있다.
또한, 제1 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 제2 및 제4 음각부(32, 34)에 제1 배선(21) 및 제2 배선(22)이 배치될 수 있으므로, 종래 기술에 따라 배선이 기판의 표면에 양각 형태로 배치되는 구조와 비교할 때, 배선의 두께만큼 터치 패널의 두께를 줄일 수 있고, 감지전극과 함께 기판의 내부로 만입됨으로써 신뢰성이 향상된다는 잇 점이 있다.
한편, 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 커버 윈도우(CW)를 포함하거나, 기판(10) 자체가 커버 윈도우일 수 있다. 커버 윈도우는 영상이 표시되는 화면영역(V/A) 및 화면영역의 가장자리에 화면영역을 둘러싸도록 배치되는 비화면영역(D/A)을 포함할 수 있다. 도 2 내지 5에 도시된 바와 같이, 커버 윈도우의 비화면 영역(D/A)에는 감지전극(100)에 연결되는 배선(20)이 육안으로 보이지 않도록 차단하는 인쇄층(60)이 형성될 수 있으며, 인쇄층은 예를 들어 흑색, 흰색, 청색 등의 색상을 가질 수 있다.
인쇄층의 색상은 이에 한정되는 것은 아니며 배선(20)이 시인되지 않도록 할 수 있으면 다양한 색상이 가능하다. 이러한 인쇄층(60)은 도 2와 3에 도시된 바와 같이 기판 내 별도의 음각부에 형성되거나, 또는 도 4와 5에 도시된 바와 같이 기판의 표면에 형성될 수 있다. 또한, 배선이 전술한 인쇄층(60) 상에 형성됨으로써 외부에서 시인되지 않을 수 있다.
도 6은 제2 실시예에 따른 터치 패널의 평면도이고, 도 7은 도 6의 C-C' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이고, 도 8은 도 6의 D-D' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이며, 도 9는 다른 실시예에 따른 도 6의 C-C' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이고, 도 10은 다른 실시예에 따른 도 6의 D-D' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이다.
도 1 및 도 2를 참조하여 전술한 제1 실시예와 동일한 구성에 대해서는 동일한 부호를 사용하고 상세한 설명을 생략하기로 한다.
도 6 내지 도 8을 참조하면, 제2 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 기 판(10), 제1 음각부(31), 제2 음각부(32), 제1 감지전극(110), 제2 감지전극(120), 제1 배선(21) 및 제2 배선(22)을 포함한다. 이 경우, 기판(10)은 강성기판 또는 커버 윈도우일 수 있다.
제2 실시예에 따른 제1 음각부(31)는 기판(10)의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입하여 제1 방향으로 연장되는 구성이다.
제1 감지전극(110)은 제1 음각부(31)에 형성된다. 구체적으로, 제1 감지전 극(110)은 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부(31)에 배치되어, 제1 음각부(31)를 통해 제1 방향으로 연장된다.
또한, 감지전극(100)과 연결되는 배선(20)이 기판(10)에 형성될 수 있는데, 구체적으로 배선(20)은 기판(10)의 표면에 양각으로 형성되거나, 음각부에 형성될 수 있다. 이하에서는, 배선(20)이 음각부에 형성되는 실시예를 기준으로 설명하기로 한다.
제1 배선(21)은 제2 음각부(32)에 형성된다. 구체적으로, 제2 음각부(32)는 기판(10)의 상기 일면으로부터 타면측으로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입되어 제1 음각부(31)와 연결되는 구성이고, 제1 배선(21)은 제1 음각부(31)와 연결되는 제2 음각부(32)에 배치되어, 제1 감지전극(110)과 전기적으로 연결된다.
제2 감지전극(120)은 제1 실시예와 비교할 때, 기판(10)에 형성된다는 점에 서는 공통되지만, 음각부가 아닌 표면에 제2 방향으로 형성된다는 점에서 차이가 있다. 또한, 제2 배선(22)은 제1 실시예와 비교할 때, 기판(10)에 형성된다는 점에서는 공통되지만, 제2 감지전극(120)과 연결되어 기판(10)의 표면에 배치된다는 점에서 차이가 있다.
도 9와 10을 참조하면, 다른 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 기판(10)과 대향하는 커버 윈도우(CW)를 더 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 기판(10)과 커버 윈도우(CW)의 합착을 위해 기판(10)과 커버 윈도우(CW)의 사이에는 OCA(optical clear adhesive) 등을 이용하여 접착층(50)이 형성될 수 있다.
한편, 인쇄층(60)은 도 7과 8에 도시된 바와 같이 기판 내 별도의 음각부에 형성되거나, 또는 도 9와 10에 도시된 바와 같이 기판의 표면에 형성될 수 있다. 또한, 배선이 전술한 인쇄층(60) 상에 형성됨으로써 외부에서 시인되지 않을 수 있다.
도 6 내지 10에는 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 다이아몬드(마름모) 형상의 단위셀들이 각각 제1 방향과 제2 방향으로 형성되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 다이아몬드(마름모) 형상으로 한정되는 것은 아니고, 바(bar), 사각형, 원형, 타원형 등의 다양한 형상을 가질 수 있다.
도 7 내지 10에 도시된 바와 같이 제1 감지전극(110)은 제1 음각부(31)에 배치되고, 제2 감지전극(120)은 기판(10)의 표면에 배치되므로, 기판(10)의 일면을 기준으로 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 서로 반대측에 형성된다.
제1 방향과 제2 방향에서 교차하는 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)의 사이에 절연부(40)가 형성되고, 절연부(40)를 경계로 서로 반대측에 각각 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 배치된다. 제1 실시예에 따른 터치 패널과는 달리 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 기판(10)의 두께방향으로 서로 다른 높이에 형성되므로, 절연부(40)만 이용하여 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)을 상호 절연시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120) 모두가 기판의 동일한 일면에 형성되는 제1 음각부(31) 및 제3 음각부(33)에 배치되는 구조와 비교할 때, 제1 방향 및 제2 방향으로 상호 교차하는 영역에서 서로 이격된 제2 감지전극(120)들을 연결시키기 위한 별도의 브릿지 전극(121)이 불필요하다.
즉, 제2 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 제1 감지전극(110) 및 제2 감지전극(120)을 형성한 후 브릿지 전극(121)을 추가적으로 형성해야만 하는 종래 기술의 문제점을 해결할 수 있으며, 이에 따라 터치 패널 제조 공정이 단순화되고 아울러 터치 패널의 두께를 줄이고 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
도 11은 제3 실시예에 따른 터치 패널의 평면도이고, 도 12는 도 11의 E-E' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이며, 도 13은 도 11의 F-F' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이다.
도 11 내지 도 13을 참조하면, 제3 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 제1 기 판(11), 제2 기판(12), 제1 음각부(31), 제2 음각부(32), 제1 감지전극(110), 제2 감지전극(120), 제1 배선(21) 및 제2 배선(22)을 포함한다. 이때, 제1 기판(11) 또는 제2 기판(12) 중 하나는 커버 윈도우일 수 있다.
제3 실시예에 따른 제1 음각부(31)는 제1 기판(11)의 일면으로부터 타면측로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입하여 제1 방향으로 연장되는 구성이다. 제1 감지전극(110)은 제1 음각부(31)에 형성된다. 구체적으로, 제1 감지전극(110)은 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부(31)에 배치되어, 제1 음각부(31)를 통해 제1 방향으로 연장된다.
제2 기판(12)은 제1 기판(11)과 대향하도록 위치하는 구성이다. 제2 기판(12)은 제2 감지전극(120)을 형성하는 물질이 도포될 수 있는 재질을 이용하여 이루어질 수 있는 바, 전술한 제1 기판(11)과 동일한 재질로 형성될 수 있다.
제2 음각부(32)는 제1 기판(11) 중 제1 음각부(31)가 형성되는 일면과 동일한 일면으로부터 타면측으로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입되어 제1 음각부(31)와 연결되는 구성이다. 제1 배선(21)은 제2 음각부(32)에 배치될 수 있다. 한편, 제1 배선(21)이 제1 기판(11)의 표면에 양각으로 형성될 수 있는 바, 이 경우 제2 음각부(32)는 생략될 수 있다.
제2 감지전극(120)은 도 6에 도시된 바와 같이 제1 기판(11)이 아닌 제2 기판(12)의 표면에 제2 방향으로 형성된다는 점에서 제1 및 제2 실시예와 차이가 있다. 한편, 도 12 내지 13에는 제2 감지전극(120)이 제2 기판(12)의 양 면 중 제1 음각부(31)가 형성된 제1 기판(10)의 일면과 마주하는 일면에 형성되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고 반대면에 형성될 수 있다는 것을 당업자라면 쉽게 이해할 수 있을 것이다.
또한, 제2 배선(22)은 제2 감지전극(120)이 형성되는 제2 기판(12)의 표면에 형성되어 제2 감지전극(120)과 연결된다.
도 12 내지 13을 참조하면, 제1 기판(11)과 제2 기판(12)의 사이에는 OCA(optical clear adhesive) 등을 이용하여 접착층(50)이 형성될 수 있다. 이러한 접착층(50)을 통해 제1 기판(11)과 제2 기판(12)이 합지됨과 동시에 제1 감지전극(110) 및 제1 배선(21)이 제2 감지전극(120) 및 제2 배선(22)과 상호 절연될 수 있다.
한편, 도 11 내지 도 13에는 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 바(bar) 형상을 가지고 각각 제1 방향과 제2 방향으로 형성되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 바(bar) 형상으로 한정되는 것은 아니고, 다이아몬드(마름모), 사각형, 원형, 타원형 등의 다양한 형상을 가질 수 있다.
도 14는 제4 실시예에 따른 터치 패널의 평면도이고, 도 15는 도 14의 G-G' 선을 따라 절개한 단면도이며, 도 16은 도 14의 H-H'을 따라 절개한 단면도이다.
전술한 실시예들과 동일한 구성에 대해서는 동일한 부호를 사용하고 상세한 설명을 생략하기로 한다.
도 14 내지 16을 참조하면, 제4 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 기판(10), 제2 기판(12), 제1 음각부(31), 제2 음각부(32), 제3 음각부(33), 제4 음각부(34), 제1 감지전극(110), 제2 감지전극(120), 제1 배선(21) 및 제2 배선(22)을 포함한다. 이때, 제1 기판(11) 또는 제2 기판(12) 중 하나는 커버 윈도우일 수 있다.
제4 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 제2 기판(12)의 일면에 제2 방향으로 형성되는 제3 음각부(33)를 더 포함하는 구조를 갖는다. 구체적으로, 제3 음각부(33)는 제2 기판(12)의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입하여 제2 방향으로 형성된다. 한편, 제2 배선(22)은 제2 기판(12)의 표면에 양각으로 형성되거나 또는 음각부에 형성될 수 있다. 이하에서는, 제2 배선(22)이 음각부에 형성되는 실시예를 기준으로 설명하기로 한다. 제4 음각부(34)는 제2 기판(12) 중 제3 음각부(33)가 형성된 일면과 동일한 일면으로부터 타면측으로 소정 깊이만큼 오목하게 만입되어 제3 음각부(33)와 연결되는 구성이다.
제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 각각 제1 기판(11)과 제2 기판(12)에 별도로 형성된다는 점에서 제3 실시예에 따른 터치 패널과 공통되지만, 제2 감지전극이 제2 기판(12)의 제3 음각부(33)에 배치되어 외부로 노출되지 않는 구조라는 점에서 차이가 있다. 또한, 도 15 내지 도 16에는 제2 배선(22)이 제2 기판(12)의 제4 음각부(34)에 배치되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고 제2 기판(12)의 표면에 양각으로 형성될 수 있음은 전술한 바와 같다. 이 경우, 제4 음각부(34)는 생략될 수 있다.
또한, 도 15 내지 16을 참조하면 제1 기판(11)과 제2 기판(12)을 합지시키기 위해서 기판과 투명기판(20)의 사이에는 OCA(optical clear adhesive) 등을 이용하여 접착층이 형성될 수 있다.
도 14 내지 16에는 제1 감지전극(110)과 제2 감지전극(120)이 바(bar) 형상을 가지고 각각 제1 방향과 제2 방향으로 형성되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 바(bar) 형상으로 한정되는 것은 아니고, 다이아몬드(마름모), 사각형, 원형, 타원형 등의 다양한 형상을 가질 수 있다.
한편, 도 도 2내지 도 5, 도 7 내지 10, 도 12 내지 13 및 도 15 내지 16에는 제1 내지 제4 음각부(31, 32, 33, 34)들의 단면이 직사각형의 형상인것으로 도시되어 있으나, 이는 설명 상 편의를 위한 것이고 직사각형 외에도 삼각형, 반원, V 등의 다양한 형상을 가지도록 형성될 수 있다. 이상에서 살펴본 제1 내지 제4 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 감지전극 전부 또는 일부가 기판 자체에 형성되는 음각 형상 내에 배치되는 구조를 가짐으로써, 감지전극의 신뢰성이 향상되어 불량률을 개선함과 동시에 우수한 터치 감지 성능을 확보할 수 있다. 그리고, 음각부를 별도의 수지층이 아닌 기판 자체의 표면에 직접적으로 형성하므로 재료비 절감 및 공정 단순화를 꾀할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
도 17은 실시예에 따른 터치 패널과 표시 패널이 결합한 터치 디바이스의 단면을 나타낸다.
도 17을 참조하면, 실시예에 따른 터치 디바이스는 표시 패널(700)과, 표시 패널(700) 상에 배치되는 전술한 실시예들의 터치 패널을 포함할 수 있다.
자세하게, 터치 디바이스는 기판(10)과 표시 패널(700)이 결합되어 형성될 수 있다. 기판(10)과 표시 패널(600)은 접착층(700)을 통해 서로 접착될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 기판(10)과 표시 패널(600)은 광학용 투명 접착제(OCA)를 포함하는 접착층(700)을 통해 서로 합지될 수 있다.
표시 패널(600)은 제 1 기판(610) 및 제 2 기판(620)을 포함할 수 있다.
표시 패널(600)이 액정표시패널인 경우, 표시 패널(600)은 박막트랜지스터(Thin Film Transistor,TFT)와 화소전극을 포함하는 제 1 기판(610)과 컬러필터층들을 포함하는 제 2 기판(620)이 액정층을 사이에 두고 합착된 구조로 형성될 수 있다.
또한, 표시 패널(600)은 박막트랜지스터, 칼라필터 및 블랙매트릭스가 제 1 기판(610)에 형성되고, 제 2 기판(620)이 액정층을 사이에 두고 제 1 기판(610)과 합착되는 COT(color filter on transistor)구조의 액정표시패널일 수도 있다. 즉, 제 1 기판(610) 상에 박막 트랜지스터를 형성하고, 박막 트랜지스터 상에 보호막을 형성하고, 보호막 상에 컬러필터층을 형성할 수 있다. 또한, 제 1 기판(610)에는 박막 트랜지스터와 접촉하는 화소전극을 형성한다. 이때, 개구율을 향상하고 마스크 공정을 단순화하기 위해 블랙매트릭스를 생략하고, 공통 전극이 블랙매트릭스의 역할을 겸하도록 형성할 수도 있다.
또한, 표시 패널(600)이 액정표시패널인 경우, 표시 장치는 표시 패널(600) 배면에서 광을 제공하는 백라이트 유닛을 더 포함할 수 있다.
표시 패널(600)이 유기전계발광표시패널인 경우, 표시 패널(600)은 별도의 광원이 필요하지 않은 자발광 소자를 포함한다. 표시 패널(600)은 제 1 기판(610) 상에 박막트랜지스터가 형성되고, 박막트랜지스터와 접촉하는 유기발광소자가 형성된다. 유기발광소자는 양극, 음극 및 양극과 음극 사이에 형성된 유기발광층을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 유기발광소자 상에 인캡슐레이션을 위한 봉지 기판 역할을 하는 제 2 기판(620)을 더 포함할 수 있다.
도 18는 실시예에 따른 터치 패널이 설치될 수 있는 영상 표시 장치들을 나타내는 예시도이고, 도 19은 실시예에 따른 영상표시장치의 예시적인 구성을 나타내는 구성도이다.
전술한 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 터치 패널은 도 18과 같이 다양한 영상표시 장치에 적용될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 본 발명에 따른 터치 패널은, 스마트폰, 태블릿, PDA, 노트북, 디지털 카메라 등의 모바일 영상표시장치에 적용될 수 있으며, 이러한 모바일 영상표시장치 이외에도 스마트 TV, PC, 디지털 액자, 네비게이션 등의 다양한 영상표시장치에 적용될 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 터치패널은 터치 입력 정보를 처리하고 이미지 정보를 표시하는 다양한 영상표시장치에 적용될 수 있다.
도 19를 참조하면, 본 발명에 따른 터치 패널이 설치된 영상표시장치들이 포함할 수 있는 예시적인 구성부들을 살펴볼 수 있다.
구체적으로, 본 발명에 따른 터치 패널이 설치된 영상표시장치들은 데이터의 송수신을 위한 통신부(2), 상기 터치 패널을 통해 입력되는 정보를 관리하는 입력 정보 관리부(3), 상기 터치 패널을 통해 표시될 이미지 정보를 관리하는 이미지 정보 관리부(4), 상기 영상표시장치의 동작과 관련된 다양한 정보들이 저장되는 저장부(5), 상기 통신부, 상기 입력 정보 관리부, 상기 이미지 정보 관리부의 동작을 제어하는 제어부(6)를 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 영상표시장치들은 이러한 구성부 이외에도 다양한 구성부를 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 각 구성부는 순전히 하드웨어 또는 소프트웨어의 구성만으로 구현될 수도 있지만, 동일 기능을 수행하는 다양한 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 구성들의 조합으로 구현될 수도 있다. 또한, 하나의 하드웨어 또는 소프트웨어에 의해 둘 이상의 구성부들이 함께 구현되거나, 둘 이상의 하드웨어 또는 소프트웨어에 의해 하나의 구성부가 구현될 수도 있다.
이상에서 기재된 "포함하다" 등의 용어는, 특별히 반대되는 기재가 없는 한, 해당 구성 요소가 내재될 수 있음을 의미하는 것이므로, 다른 구성 요소를 제외하는 것이 아니라 다른 구성 요소를 더 포함할 수 있는 것으로 해석되어야 한다.
위에서 설명된 본 발명의 실시예들은 예시의 목적을 위해 개시된 것이며, 이들에 의하여 본 발명이 한정되는 것은 아니다. 또한, 본 발명에 대한 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 본 발명의 사상과 범위 안에서 다양한 수정 및 변경을 가할 수 있을 것이며, 이러한 수정 및 변경은 본 발명의 범위에 속하는 것으로 보아야 할 것이다.
실시예는 내구성이 향상되고 두께가 감소된 터치 패널에 관한 것으로, 스마트폰, 태블릿, PDA, 노트북, 디지털 카메라 등의 모바일 영상표시장치에 적용될 수 있으며, 이러한 모바일 영상표시장치 이외에도 스마트 TV, PC, 디지털 액자, 네비게이션 등의 다양한 영상표시장치에 적용될 수 있다.
Claims (20)
- 기판;상기 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부;상기 제1 음각부에 형성되는 제1 감지전극; 및상기 기판에 형성되는 제2 감지전극;을 포함하는, 터치 패널.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 상기 제1 방향과 교차되는 제2 방향으로 연장되는 제3 음각부;를 더 포함하고,상기 제2 감지전극은 상기 제3 음각부에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 감지전극과 연결되고, 상기 기판에 형성되는 제1 배선; 및상기 제2 감지전극과 연결되고, 상기 기판에 형성되는 제2 배선;을 더 포함하는, 터치 패널.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되는 제2 음각부;를 더 포함하고,상기 제1 배선은 상기 제2 음각부에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되는 제4 음각부;를 더 포함하고,상기 제2 배선은 상기 제4 음각부에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 기판의 표면 또는 상기 기판 내의 음각부에 형성되는 인쇄층;을 더 포함하는, 터치 패널.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 제1 배선 및 제2 배선은 상기 인쇄층 상에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 기판은,강성 기판인, 터치 패널.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 기판은,커버 윈도우인, 터치 패널.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 감지전극 및 상기 배선은,ITO(Indium Tin Oxide), CNT(Carbon Nano Tube), IZO(Indium Zinc Oxide), ZnO(Zinc Oxide), 그래핀(Graphene), 전도성 폴리머, 은 나노 와이어(Ag nano wire), 구리 산화물(copper oxide) 중 적어도 어느 하나의 물질을 포함하여 이루어지는, 터치 패널.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 기판의 두께 대비 제1 음각부의 깊이는 250: 1~2의 관계를 만족하는, 터치 패널.
- 제1 기판;상기 제1 기판과 대향하는 제2 기판;상기 제1 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 제1 방향으로 연장되는 제1 음각부;상기 제1 음각부에 형성되는 제1 감지전극; 및상기 제2 기판에 형성되는 제2 감지전극;을 포함하는, 터치 패널.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 제2 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되어 상기 제1 방향과 교차되는 제2 방향으로 연장되는 제3 음각부;를 더 포함하고,상기 제2 감지전극은 상기 제3 음각부에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 제1 감지전극과 연결되고, 상기 제1 기판에 형성되는 제1 배선; 및상기 제2 감지전극과 연결되고, 상기 제2 기판에 형성되는 제2 배선;을 더 포함하는, 터치 패널.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되는 제2 음각부;를 더 포함하고,상기 제1 배선은 상기 제2 음각부에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 제2 기판의 일면으로부터 타면측으로 상기 일면보다 만입되는 제4 음각부;를 더 포함하고,상기 제2 배선은 상기 제4 음각부에 형성되는, 터치 패널.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판은,커버 윈도우인, 터치 패널.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판은,강성 기판인, 터치 패널.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 감지전극 및 상기 배선은,ITO(Indium Tin Oxide), CNT(Carbon Nano Tube), IZO(Indium Zinc Oxide),ZnO(Zinc Oxide), 그래핀(Graphene), 전도성 폴리머, 은 나노 와이어(Ag nanowire), 구리 산화물(copper oxide) 중 적어도 어느 하나의 물질을 포함하여 이루어지는, 터치 패널.
