Description

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CREATING MULTI-COLOUR HAIR PATTERNS
1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The device for colouring hair patterns in one or more colours, in one application.
According to the International Patent Classification, the concerned invention can be classified as:
- A45D 19/00 - Similar devices for colouring the hair
2. TECHNICAL PROBLEM
The technical problem solved by this invention relates to colouring hair in one application whereat:
- a pattern (image, logo, name...) in one or more colours remains on the hair;
- an relief (3D) image of the pattern (image, logo, name...) in one or more colours remains on the hair;
- highlights are obtained in several colours.
3. BACKGROUND ART
Hair colouring is certainly one of the most popular beauty treatments . Hair colouring is a hair colour altering procedure. Hair colouring belongs to the area of aesthetics, fashion and fashion trends, as well as civilization heritage. People have been colouring their hair since ancient times to accent their personality and status. Nowadays, a large number of women, but also men, decide to colour their hair.
So far, hair colouring in a manner which makes a pattern (image) in one or more colours remain on the hair has been done so as to either paint the hair manually using a brush (in which case it was necessary to leave some time for the application of one dye, for washing and/or drying of that dye, and than for the application of the other dye, and so on) or apply a template or similar device and applications by holding the template in front of the hair and applying dyes, one by one, by spraying either manually or using a brush. Colouring in such a manner is time consuming and/or requires the work of a professional and, in case of colouring with a spray, also the cleaning of the surrounding surfaces and hands.
Among known solutions, patent documents US 5,799,669 and US 2011/0132390 Al need to be mentioned.
The solution presented in the document US 5,799,669 refers to the device and method for hair colouring. The device is made of impermeable material, and the centre of its body has a transverse slot above which slots are placed of various geometric shapes or images. Along the entire surface of one side of the body, adhesive material is applied which is protected with two
l foils. Hair is coloured so as to pull a strand of hair through the transverse slot, remove the lower foil and stick the strand of hair to the adhesive material. The upper foil is removed from the upper part of the body, the body is folded and affixed to the strand of hair. By doing so, the strand of hair is secured from movement. After the folding of the device's body hair is placed in the points containing the slots of various geometric shapes or images and it is ready for colouring. A disadvantage of the concerned solution is that dye is applied manually /using a brush or spray/ so the slots of various geometric shapes or images cannot be done in detail, especially not in case of dyes applied by spraying.
The solution presented in the document US 2011/0132390 Al refers to the device, system and method for applying hair colour. This method is based on a vessel containing channels, a corrugated base and a brush with a tapered end. The number of bristle groupings at the end of the brush corresponds to the number of vessel channels, and the bristle grouping is just a bit narrower than the channel width. The method consists of pouring dyes into the channels, dipping the brush into the colours, placing the strand of hair onto the corrugated base and applying dyes to the hair, which results in multi-colour highlights. A disadvantage of the concerned solution is the problem with the fixing of the strand of hair resulting in an inability to apply and distribute the colour properly to the hair.
4. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of the invention is to colour hair in one application and obtain a single- or multi-colour hair pattern.
The secondary objective of the invention is to ensure a faster and simpler application of hair dyes.
Another objective of the invention is to enable a simple, fast and efficient solution for applying multi-colour images, shapes or highlights to the hair.
Additional objectives and advantages of this invention will be presented in the description below, and partly revealed through the application of the invention.
For the purpose of achieving the objectives, a device was designed for creating a single- or multi-colour hair pattern (image, logo, name...) in one application. The device can be single- or multi-use. The device consists of a base with the velcro or any other material which can be used to fix and distribute hair, a base with the pattern and a cover. The non-absorbent base contains a pattern made of a dye absorbing material. The pattern is made of one or more parts, depending on the appearance. The pattern can be an image, logo, name, etc. The cover is made of impermeable material and in it the shape of the pattern is cut out; its dimensions are slightly larger than the pattern. The purpose of the cover is to cover the patterns on the base. The covering of the patterns prevents them from drying out or sustaining mechanical damage. The base not only "carries" the pattern in a particular colour or colours, but also holds dye containers. The containers can be filled with dye in a quantity sufficient for one or more impressions; they can be refilled; or they can be empty so that the end user can fill them with particular dyes. The hair is affixed to the non-absorbent base with a velcro (or any other material which can fix and distribute hair). By impressing the base containing the pattern to the hair fixed in such manner, a coloured pattern remains on the hair (image, logo, name...). The said solution provides for the possibility of the device being single- or multi-use. Please note that the absorbing components which constitute the pattern (image, logo, name...) are executed in such manner that, when they are impressed to the hair, no mutual contact, i.e. mixing of dyes occurs. Considering the material of the absorbing component, the gap between the absorbing components can be secured by designing a sufficient width between the components or placing partitions between the components. The base with the pattern, depending on the type of dye, can also be used on the skin or similar surfaces.
Besides the above device, a device was designed for a relief (3D) depiction of a single- or multi-colour hair pattern (image, logo, name...). The device can be single- or multi-use. The device consists of a base, pattern, velcro and cover. The non-absorbent base contains a pattern made of a dye absorbing material. The pattern is made of one or more parts, depending of the appearance of the pattern (image, logo, name...) applied to the hair. The cover is made of impermeable perforated material and contains the "negative image" of the pattern. Since the hair moves, it must be properly distributed and fixed. For this purpose a velcro or another material which can be used to fix and distribute the hair is used. The velcro is an integral part of the base and it serves for fixing the device to the strand of hair. The cover is used to cover the patterns on the base and for making 3D images. A 3D image is formed on a strand of hair by pressing the cover to the strand, i.e. base and drying the hair by blowing warm air through the cover perforations. The said device can be used to obtain a 3D image with or without colour. The base not only "carries" the pattern and velcro, but also holds dye containers. The containers can be filled with dye, but they can also be empty so that the end user can fill them as desired. It is important to mention that the absorbing pattern components, in case of a multi-colour image, must be placed at a sufficient distance from each other or separated by partitions so as to prevent mutual contact and merging of dyes when impressing the pattern to the hair. The device for making multi-colour highlights consists of a base, absorbing cushions, cover, dye containers and a non-absorbent base with a velcro (or any other material which can fix and distribute hair). The hair is affixed to the base with a velcro (or any other material which can fix and distribute hair). The base with partitions and absorbing cushions containing dye is placed on the hair fixed in such manner. By advancing the device /base with partitions and absorbing cushions containing dye and the base with the velcro/ through the hair, the dye remains on the hair and single- or multi-colour highlights are obtained. The cover can also contain dye containers. The containers can be filled with dye, they can be filled as the user desires and refilled.

A detailed description of at least one of the manners for realizing the invention As shown in drawings 1, 2, 3 and 4, the device for making relief (3D) hair images consists of: cover 1, base 2, pattern 3 and hair-fixing base (velcro) 4. Cover 1 has transverse perforations 5 and, on its bottom side, it contains the "negative image" of the pattern. Base 2, on its upper side, contains the shape of the pattern, and on its bottom side, a chamber 14 for a dye or dyes. A hair-fixing base 4 and pattern 3 are connected to the base. Besides the cover 1, the base also contains components 12 and 13 for positioning the cover on the base. The pattern 3 shown on the said drawings is intended for a single-colour pattern depiction. The pattern for a multi-colour depiction contains partitions between individual dyes.
As shown in drawings 5 and 6, the device for making multi-colour highlights contains the base 6, partitions 6a, absorbing cushions 6b, cover 7, dye containers 8 and hair-fixing bases (velcro) 6c with a non-absorbent base. The base 6 has a body containing longitudinally positioned partitions 6a. Between the partitions 6a cushions 6b to which dye is applied are placed. The dimensions of the cover 7 are slightly larger than the base 6 and it contains dye containers 8. Drawings 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 show a device for creating a single- or multi-colour hair pattern (image, logo, name...) in one application. The device consists of the base 8, pattern 9, cover 11 and hair-fixing base (velcro) 15, and the base 8 contains the pattern 9 shaped like the image, logo, name, etc. applied to the hair. The cover 11, on one of its sides, has an imprinted shape of the pattern in the dimensions slightly greater than the pattern. The base 8 can also contain (a) dye container(s) 10 by virtue of which dye is applied to the pattern 9. The pattern 9 is made of absorbent material and, if it contains several elements defining the appearance of the pattern, these elements are divided by a gap 9a or partitions. Depending on the appearance of the pattern, the dyes are precisely separated or can be mutually merged, which is achieved by changing the partitions height. The partitions can be moveable so as to enable their lifting and lowering.
The manner of application of the invention
The present invention solves the manner of application of various multi-colour shapes and images to the hair. The shape of the invention, its multi-colour dye containers (which can be refilled), absorbent material which transfers dye to the hair and the partitions (fixed or moveable), make it possible to transfer the multi-colour pattern to the hair in only one move or by impression. The invention enables a practical, permanent and useful device which can be produced economically, and containing significant improvements in regard to prior devices of this type; it is intended for both professionals and amateurs.
