Abstract

The present invention provides an air cooler (1) for mounting at an elevation. The air cooler (1) contains a means to blow air (6) placed inside the housing (2) and an evaporative cooling media (4) placed behind the said means to blow air (6). The said housing (2) is connected to a first water storage chamber (3) through which water is automatically pumped to, on and over the said evaporative cooling media (4). Cool air is expelled from the air cooler (1) via one or more air outlets (10). The said outlets (10) contain foldable and oscillating louvers (14) which can be closed completely when the air cooler (I) is in switched off mode. Sensor(s) (12) help to monitor and maintain water level in the first water storage chamber at all times.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 23 March 2016 (23.03.2016) We claim:
1. An air cooler comprising a housing having a water storage chamber connected to the housing, an evaporative cooling media, a pump to circulate water from the water storage chamber of the evaporative cooling media, means to blow out air from within the housing characterized in that the air cooler (1 ) inter alia comprises a housing (2) mounted at an elevation, preferably on a wall, housing (2) having one or more air inlets (I I) and one or more air outlets (10), both opening within the enclosed space where the air cooler is mounted; the housing (2) further having a first water storage chamber (3); a pump (5) to circulate water from the first water storage chamber (3) to, on and over the evaporative cooling media (4); a second water storage chamber (9) away from the housing (2) with means to transport water from the second water storage chamber (9) to the first water storage chamber (3); at least one sensor to indicate the water level inside the first water storage chamber (3) and automatically activate the means to transport water from the second water storage chamber (9) to the first water storage chamber (3) whenever water level in the first water storage chamber (3) is below the predetermined level, and automatically deactivate the means to transport water when the water level in the first water storage chamber (3) is above the predetermined level,
2. An air cooler as claimed in claim I, wherein the housing does not abut the surface on which it is mounted.
3. An air cooler as claimed in elaim 1, wherein the outlets (10) have foidabie and oscillating louvers.

4. An air cooler as claimed in claim 1, wherein the means to transport water from the second water storage chamber (9) to the first water storage chamber (3) includes an additional pump (8) and a duct (7).
5. An air cooler as claimed in claim 4, wherein the additional pump (8) is a low voltage pump.
6. An air cooler as claimed in claim I, wherein the first water storage chamber (3) is provided with a drain attachment.
