Description

Universal magnetic mosquito net
* * * *
The present invention relates to a universal magnetic mosquito net.
Mosquito nets applied to borders of building openings exist in the known state of the art, comprising perforated sheets adapted to entirely cover the building opening to prevent insects from passing from one side of the sheet of the mosquito net to the other.
To keep the sheet of the mosquito net taught and to prevent insects from passing through the borders of the sheet, all four borders of the mosquito net are applied to the borders of the building opening.
Disadvantageous^, the mosquito nets do not comprise any openings adapted to allow a person to pass through it and must disadvantageously be detached to open an opening.
Magnetic mosquito nets exist in the state of the art comprising two perforated sheets and forming an opening of the mosquito net for persons to pass through it, such as described for example in EP-2634356-A1 and in EP- 2634357-A1.
Each of the two perforated sheets comprises an upper border and an outer side border facing toward the outside of the building opening and an inner side border facing toward the inside of the building opening.
The upper borders and the outside side borders mount a plurality of means, such as for example double-sided adhesive strips or tacks, adapted to apply and to secure the borders of the perforated sheets on the borders of the building opening so that the mosquito net is kept mounted on the building opening.
The inner borders of both perforated sheets mount a plurality of magnets arranged along a vertical axis with respect to the floor of the building.
The magnets of a first sheet and of a second sheet of said two perforated sheets of the mosquito net are arranged so as to be aligned with one another to cause the mosquito net to change in a quicker manner from the open position to the closed position.
For example, the magnets of the first sheet are arranged on the inner side border so that the north pole is facing toward the outside and the south pole is facing toward the inside of the building opening. The magnets of the second sheet are instead arranged on the inner side border and along a same horizontal axis of the magnets of the first sheet, so that the south pole is facing toward the outside and the north pole is facing toward the inside of the building opening. The magnets of the first sheet attract the magnets of the second sheet of the mosquito net by magnetic force, thus causing the mosquito net to change in a quicker manner from the closed position to the open position and vice versa.
The perforated sheets of the mosquito net would disadvantageously remain floppy without the magnets because they are secured to the borders of the opening only by two upper and outer side borders.
A continuous passage of persons through the building opening causes the magnetic mosquito net to continuously change from the closed position to the open position and disadvantageously creates tension forces and torsional momentums which act on the upper and outer side borders of the sheets of the mosquito net. Said tension forces and torsional momentums tend to tear the double-sided adhesive strips away from the borders of the building opening, thus disadvantageously creating gaps through which insects may pass.
In an attempt to resolve this further technical problem, staples or tacks are applied to withhold the sheet of the mosquito net on the double-sided adhesive and at the same time withhold the double-sided adhesive on the border of the building opening.
However, said staples and said tacks disadvantageously perforate the borders of the building opening, thus making it impossible to restore the opening at the end of the summer season. Furthermore, they disadvantageously make it impossible to temporarily remove the mosquito net in a simple manner. When mosquito nets are removed at the end of the summer season by detaching the double-sided adhesive, portions of double- sided adhesive disadvantageously remain attached to the borders and holes remain in the borders of the building opening where the staples and the tacks were previously positioned.
Another solution for preventing the opening of the mosquito net from remaining open is the one of providing double-sided adhesive strips separated from each other at space intervals which are true gaps. However, insects are able to pass through said gaps, not finding any double-sided adhesive strips in position in said space intervals.
It is the object of the present invention to make a universal magnetic mosquito net which is easily separably mountable with a building opening, is resistant to the tension forces applied during the passages of the mosquito net from an open position to a closed position, is adapted to make the change quicker from the open position to the closed position, with a more effective closure against insects passing through it with a perforated sheet which remains taught, which is easily mountable on any shape and dimension of building opening.
In accordance with the invention, such an object is achieved by a mosquito net according to claim 1.
These and other features of the present invention will become increasingly apparent from the following detailed description of one of its non-limiting practical embodiment examples disclosed in the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 shows a front view of a magnetic mosquito net according to the present invention, mounted separably on a border of a building opening; figure 2 shows a sectional view according to the line II-II in figure 1, of an outer border of a perforated sheet of the mosquito net separably mounted on the border of the building opening; figure 3 shows a sectional view according to the line III-III in figure 1 , of an inner border of the perforated sheet of the mosquito net mounting magnetic strips;
figure 4 shows a front view of the magnetic mosquito net separably mounted on another building opening, having different shape with respect to the building opening in figure 1.
With reference to the figures listed above, a mosquito net 1 is known comprising at least a perforated sheet 3 adapted to prevent insects from passing through it.
As shown in figure 1, the mosquito net 1 comprises two perforated sheets 3, two upper hems 11 and at least two outer side hems 12 of the mosquito net 1 which are mountable on respective three borders 61 of a building opening, and an opening 10 of the mosquito net 1 bordered by two inner hems 7, that is by a first inner hem 75 and by a second inner hem 76 of the mosquito net 1.
The inner hems 7 of the two perforated sheets 3 of the mosquito net are arranged vertically and in contact with one another and serve as an opening 10 for the mosquito net. Said inner hems 7 are adapted to cause the mosquito net 1 to change from a closed position in which the two inner hems 7 of the two perforated sheets 3 of the mosquito net are in contact with each other, to an open position in which it is possible to separate the two inner hems 7 of the two perforated sheets 3 of the mosquito net 1 to pass through the mosquito net 1.
Said first 75 and said second inner hem 76 are openable so that opening 10 of the mosquito net 1 changes between an open position and a closed position.
Said first inner hem 75 mounts a plurality of first magnets 8 and said second inner hem 76 mounts a plurality of second magnets 8.
Said first magnets 8 and said second magnets 8 are mounted along a vertical axis perpendicular to the floor. Said first magnets 8 are adapted to magnetically attract said second magnets 8 so that opening 10 of the mosquito net 1 changes from the open position to the closed position.
Each inner hem 7 of said first 75 and second inner hems 76 provides a regular succession of magnets 8 along the vertical axis.
The regular succession of magnets 8 allows to cut the mosquito net 1 so as to cover said building opening of any shape and of any size.
As shown in figure 3, each magnet 8 is mounted inside a pocket 90 formed inside the inner hem 7 to keep its relative position with respect to all other said first 8 and second magnets 8.
Each of said pockets 7 formed in the inner hem 7 comprises an opening 901 adapted to allow an insertion of said magnet 8 inside pocket 90.
Said opening 901 is positioned in an upper position of pocket 90 to prevent magnet 8 from inadvertently coming out, by falling out due to gravity.
Each magnet 8 of said succession of magnets 8 is spaced from the next magnet 8 by a space 900 along the vertical axis. The succession of magnets 8 provides the regularly repeated succession of a short magnet 81, a space 900 and a long magnet 82 along the vertical axis to make it advantageously possible to cut the mosquito net 1 so as to cover said building opening of any shape and of any size.
The first magnets 8, 81, 82 of the first inner hem 75 are arranged along the vertical axis so that the north pole is facing upward and the south pole is facing downward.
The second magnets 8, 81, 82 of the second inner hem 76 are instead arranged along the vertical axis and along a same horizontal axis as the first magnets 8, 81, 82 so that the south pole is facing upward and the north pole is facing downward.
The first magnets 8, 81, 82 attract the second magnets 8, 81, 82 by magnetic force, thus causing the mosquito net 1 to change in a quicker manner from the closed position to the open position and vice versa.
Said short magnet 81 has a dimension along the vertical axis comprised between 3 and 6 cm.
Said long magnet 82 has a dimension along the vertical axis comprised between 12 and 30 centimeters.
Said space 900 has a dimension along the vertical axis comprised between 2 and 5 centimeters.
At less than 2 centimeters of said space 900, at less than 3 centimeters of said short magnet 81 and at less than 12 centimeters of said long magnet 82, the magnets 8 would be too close to one another and could conflict with one another, thus not allowing a complete closure of opening 10 of the mosquito net 1. At more than 5 centimeters of said space 900, at more than 6 centimeters of said short magnet 81 and at more than 30 centimeters of the long magnet 82, it would not be possible to allow the tension and torsional forces of the mosquito net 1 to be distributed to obtain the technical effect desired, that is to obtain a magnetic mosquito net 1 which is easily separably mountable with a building opening, is resistant to the tension forces applied during the changes of the mosquito net 1 from an open position to a closed position, is adapted to make the change quicker from the open position to the closed position, with a more effective closure against insects passing through it. It remains advantageously with a perforated sheet which remains taught, easily mountable on and removable from any shape and dimension of building opening.
The regular succession of magnets 8 spaced from space 900 and the dimensions along the vertical axis of the short magnets 81, of the long magnets 82 and of the spaces 900 allow tension and torsion forces to be distributed between the outer hems 11, 12 and the inner hems 10 so as to keep opening 10 closed, the perforated sheet 3 taught, and at the same time keep the tension and torsion forces well distributed on the outer hems 11, 12 of the mosquito net 1, so that the perforated sheet 3 does not fray and the outer hems 11, 12 of the mosquito net 1 remain firmly secured to the borders 61 of the building opening, thus further obtaining the possibility of cutting the mosquito net 1 to the dimensions and shapes suitable for adapting it to any opening and therefore having the feature of being a universal magnetic mosquito net.
As shown in figure 2, each outer hem 11, 12 of said at least one upper hem 1 1 and of said at least two outer side hems 12 comprises, in succession from an outward direction to a direction towards a border 61 of said at least three borders 61 of the building opening, in a perpendicular direction with respect to opening 10 of the mosquito net 1, a first strip 2, the perforated sheet 3, a second strip 4 and a third strip 5.
The first strip 2 comprises an outer surface 21 facing toward the outward direction, which may be provided impermeable to external atmospheric agents, and an adhesive surface 22 facing toward the direction towards border 61 for integrally mounting one border of said perforated sheet 3.
The second strip 4 comprises an adhesive surface 41 facing toward the outward direction for integrally mounting said border of said perforated sheet 3, and a Velcro surface 42 facing toward the direction towards border 61.
The third strip 5 comprises a Velcro surface 51 facing toward the outward direction, separably mountable with said Velcro surface 42 of the second strip 4, and an adhesive surface 52 facing toward the direction towards border 61 for adhering by means of adhesive means along an entire perimeter of border 61.
Advantageously, the mosquito net 1 can be separably removable from and separably mountable on the borders 61 of the building opening.
Advantageously, the outer hems 11 and 12 allow the mosquito net 1 to be separably mounted along the entire perimeter of border 61 of the building opening, thus resolving, through the arrangement and the shape of the magnets 8 and the outer hems 11 and 12, the significant technical problem in the known state of the art where, by not being able to also attach the lower borders of the two perforated sheets 3 of the mosquito net 1 to a lower border of the building opening, given that it would otherwise not be possible to move the two perforated sheets 3 of the mosquito net 1 to pass through it, the perforated sheet 3 was torn from the border of the mosquito net 1 after in and out passages of a person through opening 10 of the mosquito net 1. A continuous double-sided adhesive could not be provided along the entire perimeter of the upper and side border 61 of the building opening, given that the continuous double-sided adhesive strip along the entire upper and outer side border 61 of the mosquito net 1 creates tension forces and torsional momentums so as to keep open opening 10 of the mosquito net, thus misaligning the magnets 8 and making the use of the mosquito net 1 ineffective against stopping insects from passing through it, precisely because opening 10 would always remain open, thus permitting the entry of insects from one side of the mosquito net 1 to the other. Furthermore, in the known state of the art, the perforated sheet 3 of the mosquito net 1 tends to detach from the double-sided adhesive since the tension forces applied to the upper and outer side borders of the mosquito net 1, due to opening 10 of the mosquito net 1 which is not able to remain tightly closed, disadvantageously tends to tear the mosquito net 1 away from the double-sided adhesive, thus creating further passages for the insects also on the upper and outer side sides.
Advantageously, the outer hems 11 and 12 and the arrangement and the particular shape of the magnets 8 according to the present invention resolve all these technical problems, thus allowing the borders of the mosquito net 1 to be closed against the borders 61 of the building opening without leaving gaps for the passage of insects, and also succeeding in keeping the perforated sheet 3 of the mosquito net 1 taught and with opening 10 of the mosquito net 1 tightly closed in closed position. Each inner hem 7 comprises a first strip 70 and a second strip 90, in succession from an outward direction toward an inner direction of the building in direction perpendicular to the building opening.
The first strip 90 comprises an outer covering surface 71 facing toward the outward direction, and an adhesive surface 72 facing toward the inner direction for integrally mounting one border of said perforated sheet 3.
The second strip 9 comprises an adhesive surface 91 facing toward the outward direction for integrally mounting said border of said perforated sheet 3, and an inner covering surface 92 facing toward the inner direction.
Said second strip 9 comprises inside, said pockets 90 for integrally positioning said magnets 8.
With regards to the operation of the mosquito net 1, the adhesive surface 52 of the third strip 5 is applied so as to adhere to the entire perimeter of the border of the building opening so as not to allow insects to pass through gaps created with magnetic mosquito nets of the known state of the art.
Then the outer hem 11, 12 of the mosquito net 1 is applied so that the Velcro surface 42 of the second strip 4 is mounted separably with said Velcro surface 51 of the third strip 5 so that the first magnets 8 are aligned with the second magnets 8 and can reciprocally attract each other by magnetic force as described in the present invention.
A further force is applied to the covering surface 21 of the first strip 2 so that the adhesive surfaces 22 and 41 of the first 2 and of the second strip 4, respectively, adhere to one another thus mounting the border of the perforated sheet 3 more integrally so that it can advantageously resist continuous tensions and torsions of different intensity over time.
The further force applied to the covering surface 21 advantageously also allows the two Velcro surfaces 42 and 51 of the second 4 and of the third strip 5, respectively, to adhere in a more integral manner to obtain a synergetic sealing effect of the mosquito net 1 on the border of the building opening.
Alternatively, as shown in figure 4, the mosquito net 1 comprises a single perforated sheet 3 which is mounted integrally from said upper hem 11, from two outer side hems 12 and is divided so as to form opening 10 from two inner hems 7.
According to a still further alternative, each inner hem 7 comprises a load in proximity of a lower portion of the inner hem 7 to advantageously facilitate keeping the open position of the opening.
According to a further alternative, the first strip 70 is facing inward and the second strip 90 is facing outward.
According to a still further alternative, there is a single perforated sheet 3 mounted separably with two borders 61 of the building opening by means of an upper hem 11 and an outer side hem 12, and the second side hem 12, replacing the other inner hem 7, is such that the second strip 4 mounts pockets 90 for magnets 8 to allow the respective magnets 8 of the inner hem 7 of the perforated sheet 3 to enter in magnetic interaction and to change from the open position to the closed position.
According to a still further alternative, the mosquito net 1 of the present invention is used on openings of closed habitable spaces, such as for example rooms on ships, or gazebo or tent openings.
According to a further alternative, a plurality of mosquito nets 1 according to the present invention are mounted said by side, to cover openings of habitable spaces of a modular structure such as for example exhibition stands.
The sheet of the mosquito net 3 is advantageously tensioned without creating spaces for the passage of insects in the closed position of opening 10 of the mosquito net 1.
Advantageously, the mosquito net 1 is integral and safe, remains in position, without the perforated sheet 3 fraying from the outer borders of 11 , 12 of the mosquito net 1. The mosquito net 1 is advantageously universal, versatile and modular since it can be mounted separably on any shape and dimension of building opening, as shown for example in figures 1 and 4.
The mosquito net 1 advantageously allows exposure to external atmospheric agents, since the adhesive surfaces 22, 41, 52 of the outer hem
11, 12 are protected by the impermeable first strip 2. The adhesive surfaces 22, 41, 52 do not undergo deformations and therefore gaps are not created which are adapted to allow access to insects, and they do not come unglued.
