 100MPa以上の超高圧条件においても、構成部品のクリープや破損を低減し、溶媒の漏れを抑制する液体混合装置、および当該液体混合装置を用いた液体クロマトグラフ装置である。 本発明に係る液体クロマトグラフ装置は、複数種類の溶液を送液する送液ポンプと、当該送液された溶液を混合する液体混合装置と、当該混合された溶液中に試料を注入する試料注入装置と、当該注入された試料を成分ごとに分離するカラムと、当該分離された成分を検出する検出器と、を備えた液体クロマトグラフ装置であって、前記液体混合装置は、複数種類の溶液が流入する入口側コネクタ部と、当該流入した溶液を混合する液体混合部と、当該混合された溶液が流出する流出側コネクタ部と、を備え、前記入口側コネクタ部と前記液体混合部、および前記液体混合部と前記出口側コネクタ部との間は、拡散接合によって直接に接合されている。

Description

液体混合装置、および液体クロマトグラフ装置
 本発明は、液体を混合する液体混合装置、および液体混合装置を用いた液体クロマトグラフに関する。
 本発明に関連する技術として、特許文献1がある。特許文献1は、マイクロミキサーに関し、溶媒を混合するための流路溝が刻まれたプレートを積層・接合したのち、混合流体および熱交換媒体の流入・流出用のコネクタを取り付けることで、熱交換機構を持たせた構成について説明されている。

 液体クロマトグラフを用いた分析には、複数の溶媒を混合するグラジエントモードと呼ばれる分析手法がある。グラジエントモードでは、複数の溶媒を混合して移動相とするための液体混合装置が用いられる。
 近年、分析の高速化および高分離化に伴い、液体クロマトグラフ装置における流体の送液圧力の高圧化が進んでいる。特に、超高速液体クロマトグラフ分析装置では、100MPaを超える圧力の送液がなされている。しかしながら、特許文献1に開示された液体混合装置の構成においては、上記の高圧送液のような厳しい条件下での分析については考慮されていないため、特に、後付けされた構成部材は高圧に耐えられず、クリープと呼ばれる変形や破損によって液漏れ等が生じることとなる。
 また、液体クロマトグラフ用の液体混合装置において、配管とのコネクタ部と、液体を混合する混合部との間に、樹脂パッキン等の部材を挟んで配置する構成においては、圧力が高くなることでパッキンが変形したり抜け出すことで、やはり液漏れしてしまうことがあった。
 本発明は、100MPa以上の高圧条件においても変形、破損することがなく、液漏れを低減することができる液体混合装置を提供することを目的とする。
 上記課題を解決するための一態様として、液体クロマトグラフ用の液体混合装置であって、液体が供給される入口側コネクタ部と、当該供給された液体を混合する溝を有する液体混合部と、当該混合された液体が流出される出口側コネクタ部と、を備え、前記入口側コネクタ部と前記液体混合部、および前記出口側コネクタ部と前記液体混合部とは、拡散接合によって接続されているものである。
 本発明によれば、100MPa以上の超高圧条件においても、構成部品のクリープや破損を低減し、溶媒の漏れを抑制する液体混合装置、および当該液体混合装置を用いた液体クロマトグラフ装置を提供することができる。
 上記した以外の課題、構成および効果は、以下の実施形態の説明により明らかにされる。

 以下、図面を用いて本発明の実施の形態について説明する。
 図1は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体クロマトグラフ装置の全体構成図である。液体クロマトグラフ装置100は、溶媒107を送液する送液ポンプ101、送られた溶媒を混合する液体混合装置(ミキサ)102、試料を注入するための試料注入装置(オートサンプラ)103、分離カラムを恒温に保つためのカラムオーブン104、および検出器105を備えている。検出器105を通過した溶媒は、廃液106としてタンクに排出される。
 本図においては、液体混合装置102は送液ポンプ101と試料注入装置103との間に配置されているが、低圧グラジエントと呼ばれる分析法においては、溶媒107と送液ポンプ101との間に配置されることもある。
 図2は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合装置200の構成を示す図である。液体混合装置200は、主に入口側コネクタ部201、液体混合部202、出口側コネクタ部203から構成される。図2(A)、(B)、(C)は、それぞれコネクタ部201、203と液体混合部202との配置関係の一例を示す。高圧条件下での送液を行う場合、液体混合部202にモーメントがかからず、圧縮・引っ張り応力のみが働く(A)の構成とすることが望ましい。
 なお、入口側コネクタ部201、出口側コネクタ部203の形状は同じでもよいし、装置条件に合わせて差異を設けてもよい。
 図3は、パッキンを使用した従来の液体混合装置の構成例である。本構成においては、複雑な流路形状を構成する液体混合部302についてのみ、拡散接合などの接合方法で接合されてきた。液体混合部302だけであれば、一般に平面で構成されるため拡散接合をはじめとして圧力を均一にかけることが容易である。しかしながら、コネクタ部301、303は後付けになるため、一般にコネクタ部301、303と液体混合部302との間には樹脂製のパッキン部材304、305が使用されることから、増締めの必要性やクリープといった問題が生じていた。また、パッキン部材304、305に圧力をかけるためにハウジングが必要になることが多く、部品点数が増えてコスト高となる。なお、圧力が高くない条件下(例えば10MPa以下)では、無視できるクリープ量ではあったが、高圧力条件下(例えば40~100MPa)では、室温下であっても弾性体としての振る舞いが顕著になり、クリープの影響が無視できなくなる。また、締め付け直後においての変形速度の速い領域を1次クリープ(遷移クリープ)と言うが、一般に数%の伸びが~10h程度で起こることから、生産におけるリードタイムが長くなり品質上好まれない。
 図4は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合装置の加工の前後の様子を示す図である。
 加工前の状態では、入口側コネクタ部401、出口側コネクタ部403に、コネクタ用の溝形状404、405は形成されていないため、拡散接合時にも圧力がかかり、入口側コネクタ部401、出口側コネクタ部403と、液体混合部402とは、それぞれ接合可能となる。接合後、バルク状になったと見なせる状況で、入口側コネクタ部401、出口側コネクタ部403を、それぞれ後加工することで、全ての部位が同一材料、例えばSUSをはじめとした金属で構成されるため、高耐圧に適した材料で混合器が作製される。すなわち、図3において説明した従来の構造のように、コネクタ部と、液体混合部との間にパッキン部材のような異種材料を介す必要がなくなり、高圧条件下における変形や破損、液漏れ等が生じないこととなる。なお、入口側コネクタ部401、出口側コネクタ部403に、後加工のための下穴やマーキング等の溝の軽微な加工であれば、拡散接合および本発明におけるコネクタ部の後加工に影響はない。
 図5は、他の実施の形態に係る液体混合装置の加工に伴う課題を示す図である。接合前にコネクタ用の溝(空洞)形状504、505を加工してしまうと、形成された空洞であるコネクタ直下の部分には、他領域と比較して圧力がかからなくなる。そのため、この部分については、拡散接合がされなくなり、また、拡散接合は数トンという力で押圧しているため、空洞以外の領域についても、拡散接合により僅かながら変形が生じる。この僅かな変形により、特に全体の流路を形成する際に、配管との接続において雌ねじ・雄ねじの関係が担保されなくなってしまう。事前に変形量を見積もった上でコネクタを加工しておく方法も考えられるが、同時に複数個の生産を行う場合においては、全ての変形量を同一に担保することは困難である。
 また、液体混合部502は拡散接合で事前に作製しておき、のちに入口側コネクタ部501、出口側コネクタ部503のみ混合部と拡散接合ということが考えられるが、接合が2回以上となりやはりコスト高となるため、適さない。
 上記のように、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合装置は、図4にて説明した手法により作成されることが望ましい。
 図6(A)は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合装置の加工フローである。図6(B)は、加工フローに対応した液体混合装置の構造を示す図である。
 (a)液体混合部は液体を混合するための種々の複雑な形状で構成されている。本ステップでは、入口側コネクタ部601、出口側コネクタ部603の前処理加工、および混合部の作製を行う(ステップ601)。ここで、前処理加工とは、入口側コネクタ部601、出口側コネクタ部603の特に上部に、マーキングのための溝や下穴程度の軽微な加工を施すことをいい、必ずしも必須ではない。
 (b)上記の通り、最小限の事前加工が施された入口側コネクタ部601、液体混合部602、出口側コネクタ部603の間は、それぞれ拡散接合により接合される(ステップ602)。
 (c)その後、コネクタ部は後加工される際、混合部の流路に切削粉や切削油が混入しないように封止部材606、607を詰める(ステップ603)。封止部材606、607は特別なものでなくてもよく樹脂材、綿・紙など、流路を一時的に塞ぐ役割を持つものであればよい。特に、微量の切削油の混入も許さない場合には公差指定したはめ合いの封止部材を用いてもよい。また、例えば、治具金属など高温にすることで溶融する材料を用いることもできる。また、封止部材606、607を使わなくても混合部の流路に切削粉や切削油が混入しないような加工の場合には、封止部材606、607を詰めずに加工することもできる。
 (d)上記の処理を施した上で、後加工としてコネクタ用の溝形状を設ける(ステップ604)。以上の工程により作成された液体混合装置は、もとは拡散接合により形成されているため耐圧特性に優れており、樹脂パッキンを使用していないためクリープの心配もなく、部品点数が少ないためコストの増加を抑えることができる。
 図7は、本発明の実施の形態に係る圧力印加処理を説明する図である。上記の方法により加工された液体混合装置に対して、ガスを圧力媒体として等方的に圧力を加えることにより、特に、2層以上に積層された液体混合部702の内部の空隙を排除する。本図に示すように、液体混合部702の積層方向は、送液方向に対して平行でも、また垂直でもよい。
 図8は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合部の溝形状の例を示す図である。本図に示すように、異なる溝形状801~808を有した基板上の部材は、分析条件等に応じて適宜組み合わせて、積層することができる。異なる溝形状を通過することにより、複数種類の液体の混合が促進される。
 図9は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合部の積層構造の例を示す図である。本図に示すように、コネクタ用の溝904、905は、入口側コネクタ部901、出力側コネクタ部903の中心に形成されるほか、液体混合部902の積層構造に応じて、端部に形成するようにしてもよい。
 図10は、本発明の実施の形態に係る液体混合装置の外観の様子を示す図である。本図に示すように、入口側コネクタ部1001、液体混合部1002、出口側コネクタ部1003の間を上述の拡散接合により接合させた状態で、コネクタ形状を後加工する。このようにすることで、耐圧性に優れ、液体クロマトグラフを用いた分析における高圧条件下においても、液漏れが生じない信頼性の高い液体混合装置を提供することができる。
 なお、本発明は上記した実施例に限定されるものではなく、様々な変形例が含まれる。例えば、上記した実施例は本発明を分かりやすく説明するために詳細に説明したものであり、必ずしも説明した全ての構成を備えるものに限定されるものではない。また、ある実施例の構成の一部を他の実施例の構成に置き換えることが可能であり、また、ある実施例の構成に他の実施例の構成を加えることも可能である。また、各実施例の構成の一部について、他の実施例の構成の追加・削除・置換をすることが可能である。

Claims (9)

  1.  複数種類の溶液を送液する送液ポンプと、
     前記送液ポンプで送液された溶液を混合する液体混合装置と、
     前記液体混合装置で混合された溶液中に試料を注入する試料注入装置と、
     前記試料注入装置で注入された試料を成分ごとに分離するカラムと、
     前記カラムで分離された成分を検出する検出器と、
    を備えた液体クロマトグラフ装置であって、
     前記液体混合装置は、
     複数種類の溶液が流入する入口側コネクタ部と、前記入口側コネクタ部に流入した溶液を混合する液体混合部と、前記液体混合部で混合された溶液が流出する流出側コネクタ部と、を備え、
     前記入口側コネクタ部と前記液体混合部との間、および前記液体混合部と前記出口側コネクタ部との間は、拡散接合によって直接に接合されている、液体クロマトグラフ装置。
  2.  請求項1に記載された液体クロマトグラフ装置において、
     前記液体混合部は、
     複数種類の溝が形成された基板状部材を積層することによって形成されている、液体クロマトグラフ装置。
  3.  請求項2に記載された液体クロマトグラフ装置において、
     前記液体混合部は、
     複数種類の渦巻き状の溝が形成された基板状部材を積層することによって形成されている、液体クロマトグラフ装置。
  4.  複数種類の溶液を混合する液体混合装置と、
     前記液体混合装置で混合された溶液を送液する送液ポンプと、
     前記送液ポンプで送液された溶液中に試料を注入する試料注入装置と、
     前記試料注入装置で注入された試料を成分ごとに分離するカラムと、
     前記カラムで分離された成分を検出する検出器と、
    を備えた液体クロマトグラフ装置であって、
     前記液体混合装置は、
     複数種類の溶液が流入する入口側コネクタ部と、前記入口側コネクタ部に流入した溶液を混合する液体混合部と、前記液体混合部で混合された溶液が流出する流出側コネクタ部と、を備え、
     前記入口側コネクタ部と前記液体混合部との間、および前記液体混合部と前記出口側コネクタ部との間は、拡散接合によって直接に接合されている、液体クロマトグラフ装置。
  5.  請求項4に記載された液体クロマトグラフ装置において、
     前記液体混合部は、
     複数種類の溝が形成された基板状部材を積層することによって形成されている、液体クロマトグラフ装置。
  6.  請求項5に記載された液体クロマトグラフ装置において、
     前記液体混合部は、
     複数種類の渦巻き状の溝が形成された基板状部材を積層することによって形成されている、液体クロマトグラフ装置。
  7.  液体クロマトグラフ装置用の液体混合装置であって、
     複数種類の溶液が流入する入口側コネクタ部と、前記入口側コネクタ部に流入した溶液を混合する液体混合部と、前記液体混合部で混合された溶液が流出する流出側コネクタ部と、を備え、
     前記入口側コネクタ部と前記液体混合部との間、および前記液体混合部と前記出口側コネクタ部との間は、拡散接合によって直接に接合されている、液体混合装置。
  8.  請求項7に記載された液体混合装置において、
     前記液体混合部は、
     複数種類の溝が形成された基板状部材を積層することによって形成されている、液体混合装置。
  9.  請求項8に記載された液体混合装置において、
     前記液体混合部は、
     複数種類の渦巻き状の溝が形成された基板状部材を積層することによって形成されている、液体混合装置。
