Description

A DOOR CONTROL SYSTEM
Technical Field
The invention subject to the application is related to a door control system developed in order to control the doors of motor land vehicles used to transport passengers; especially busses used for mass transportation having three or more doors.
State of the Art (Prior Art)
In the known state of the art the busses used to transport passengers have at least one door used for entering/exiting and these doors are controlled by the driver using hydraulic, electric, gas or mechanical systems.
One of the two basic systems used to control bus doors nowadays is a door control system operated manually using a mechanical handle; wherein as this is a mechanical system and is controlled manually, this is used only in busses having one door. In this system, the entry/exit position of the passengers, and the safety for the door to be opened/closed is visually inspected by the driver and the mechanical handle available next to the driver that opens or closes the door is moved and the door is enabled to be closed or opened by means of the mechanical connections that reach the door from the floor of the bus.
However as the system is mechanical, the driver needs to make an effort every time he/she opens/closes the door and together with this, as it is a manual system the driver also has to carry out safety controls. In this system within the known state of the art, the door control, opening and closing and focusing on driving has to be performed simultaneously by the driver and as a result this puts forth safety risks.
Another system used nowadays is a system that enables the doors to be opened and closed by utilizing hydraulic, electric or gas systems by pressing more than one button, such that there is a button for each door on the control panel located in front of the driver.
The most important technical problem according to this system is that all the doors need to be controlled by driver to ensure that they are safe to be opened/closed. As it is difficult for the driver to control the middle and rear doors visually in such systems which are especially widely used in busses having two or more doors; crucial safety risks are faced and accidents such as the passengers being squeezed behind doors are frequently seen. l the brief description of the Invention and its aims
The aim in the basic application of the door control system subject to the invention is that the door opening/closing commands of the driver are only carried out if the predetermined safety criteria are met, without the need for the driver to control the safety of the passengers and door sills.
Additionally, other aims that are expected to be reached by means of the invention are for the driver to be able to open and close all doors with a single button, and for all the doors to be opened automatically for discharge of passengers in case of an emergency.
