Description

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENABLING LIVE EVENT Technical field
The present disclosure relates generally to a method and system for identify and collect topical conversations within a geographical hotspot in the digital landscape. Background
In the last decades social media has increased exponentially and it is nowadays widespread all over the world. Mobile applications such as Instagram, YouTube and Twitter are popular among a vast majority of people. For instance, Instagram is everyday receiving around 55 million photos that are uploaded into their mobile applications and in YouTube hundred hours of video are uploaded every minute.
Moreover, end-users are sending around 400 million tweets per day. In other words, there is so much digital information to be found per second that it will probably take years to skim through all of it in order to found relevant parts. In addition, sorting the found information by relevance would take even much longer. Regardless the type of interests, such as music, politics, food, sports, gaming or fashion, it is practically impossible for a user to attend every happening or event related to his/her interests taking place around the world.
In order to keep up with the endless flow of information on digital platforms, users are required to invest an ever-increasing amount of time. However, even if a user invests plenty of time in searching for specific information on digital platforms, it is required skills to ascertain which information is the most relevant to the query and which of the hits are the most interesting ones.
Consequently, if a user has more than one subject of interest then the problem grows exponentially. Today, many companies and services are trying to structure the digital conversation by using a range of different methods. Although these methods work well in many cases, human behavioural activities will always count in and ought not to be ignored. One of the methods is the location-based service (LBS) that is a general class of computer program-level service which uses location data to control features. In other words, LBS is an information service and has nowadays a number of users in social networking or conversations for entertainment purposes. LBS is able to open and close specific data objects based on the use of location and/or time as a part of complex cryptographic key or hashing systems and the data they provide access to. LBS uses information on the geographical position of a mobile device by using a single base station with a radius of inaccuracy to determine the location of the device. Users may also make use of the GPS technology integrated in their mobile devices to "check in" to geographical locations as a bar or restaurant. By doing this, the users are able for instance to review their favourite bar or restaurant, recommend it to others and alert their social networks wherever they are.
Since geo-based check-ins pinpoints a user within a specific area, a user may be able to choose several locations within his/her area provided that users make the effort to check in.
Another method to tag or categorize a specific topic involves using hashtags (#), which can be used both to indicate geographical information and other on-topic information, but it is also used in the sole purpose of gaining more traction by adding hashtags to commercial and off-topic digital information. At a larger scale, hashtags often leads to spam. On the other hand, those hashtags that rarely facilitate a digital conversation may also identify where the conversation takes place.
In summary, no service to date can identify and collect topical conversations within one or many geographical hotspots in the digital landscape. Consequently, a solution of this problem is explained in this invention.
Thanks to this new invention within this technical field, a second screen solution is provided so the end-user can experience any or all the events of interest for her/him either through the eyes of the attendees or from a global point of view. In light of aforementioned present aspect of the invention, there clearly exists a need for an alternate method/system that can identify, collect and store digital information of your interest within a geographical hotspot.
Summary
It is an object of the invention to address at least some of the problems and issues outlined above. The following presents a simplified summary of the disclosure in order to provide a basic understanding to the reader.

According to one aspect of the present invention, a method is provided for specific live-information from a plurality of digital channels according to given parameters comprising the steps of defining a topic or hotspot according to the given parameters; collecting digital information through data sources from the digital channels; validating frequencies of the digital information during a lapse of time; and activating and providing access to the specific live-information to the users related to the topic or hotspot.
Further, the method may store the specific live-information for later viewing.
According to another aspect of the present invention, a system is configured to enable a specific live-information from a plurality of digital channels according to given parameters comprising means adapted to define a topic or hotspot according to the given parameters; collect digital information through data sources from the digital channels; validate frequencies of the digital information during a lapse of time; and activate and provide access to the specific live-information to the users related to the topic or hotspot. Further, the system may store the specific live-information for later viewing. According to a further aspect of the present invention, there is provided a computer program product comprising computer program code, which when executed by a computer unit enables the computer unit to perform the method described above. The above method, system and computer program may be configured and implemented according to different optional embodiments.
Further possible features and benefits of this solution will become apparent from the detailed description below.
Brief description of drawings
The solution will now be described in more detail by means of exemplary aspects and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig 1 is a world map illustrating geographical hotspots based on subject according to some possible aspects.
Fig. 2 is illustrating a procedure of analysing given parameters in a system according to further possible aspects.
Fig. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of a procedure of filtering, analysing and saving according to further possible aspects.
Fig. 4 is illustrating different method steps according to further possible aspects.
Detailed description
Briefly described, a solution is provided by a computer program comprising an algorithm that is run by a server. The algorithm defines a set of parameters such as keywords and/or specific regions and collects digital information through API- requests concerning these predefined parameters. The frequency of the digital information or digital conversation is then validated for the pre-defined parameters which include selected subjects and geographical places over time.
At the time the digital conversation exceeds a predetermined threshold or a normal average range of matching hits within a geographical area for a defined period of time, a Live Event is activated. These activations may occur in one or more geographical areas or hotspots so many Live Events may be displayed simultaneously. This is shown in Figure 1 where different hotspots 1 1 , 12, 13 in different locations are displayed on the screen at the same time. A user having a user device may through the screen of the user device be able to experience live events, either through the eyes of the attendees of the events or from a global viewpoint, by specifying his/her interests with keywords. When the user keywords are matched with the predefined parameters, the Live Events related to the user keywords are displayed on the screen of the user device, which then becomes a second screen to the live event. The user device can be any device suitable to viewing events, such as a stationary computer or a handheld device.
By now, the user becomes aware of most of the live events of his/her interests in different geographical areas and that occurs at the same time. Further, users may not only be able to manually specify keywords but also may specify geographical locations in order to trigger a live event of their interests.
During live mode, the algorithm iteratively analyses the content from post or digital streams all around the world and pick up those qualified ones according to specific algorithm conditions and regulations. In Figure 2, it is shown how the analysis of the geo hotspot 1 1 is performed. As seen, the conditions may be defined keywords 21 , high frequency words, coordinates 22, radius 23, time of created posts, geo tags 24 and semantic. The algorithm keeps improving during the event lifeline by doing a post content analysis 25 which involves finding additional parameters by searching criteria based on generated word cloud 26, which is a type of statistics, as well as improving filtering criteria such as spam filter over time. Users are then able to watch the real-time event from the active live feed on any platform of their choice.
As shown in Figure 3, the digital conversation 31 including an amount of digital posts of a live event, shown as a curve, starts here 32, the curve reaches a peak and then continuously declines to finally arrive below a threshold which is computed from historical data. This threshold is statistically calculated according to predetermined parameters determined by the server. When the digital posts of this live event are drastically decreasing, the live event stops sending the digital information and the curve is cut 34. The event feed 36 is then analysed 33 and stored 35 for later viewing. Last stage of the process involves validating all collected digital posts based on algorithm parameters such as time of creation, interactions from followers, number of followers and their followers of the creator, type of content, geolocation, hashtags, and content from other users using the same hashtag with a close geolocation, etc. The results are shown in Figure 4, which illustrates a live feed from a hotspot 41 . The live feed goes through a filter 42 resulting in a structured and filtered feed with post rankings that are archived in a storage unit 44 and that can be viewed by a second screen 43 at any time. The live feed can then be sorted in different manners e.g. chronologically or by social engagement.
A summary of the different steps of how a Live Event is displayed and archived is described below:
1 . The service searches for geo location hot spots/live events 41 where social content is uploaded from.
2. The data is then filtered by filter 42 through the algorithm.
3. The live feed is displayed in a screen 43. 4. The live feed is archived in a storage unit 44 and can be viewed again.
The invention relates to a method, a system and a computer program product. The inventive method provides a second screen solution for a user to experience any and all events either through the eyes of the attendees of the event or from a global viewpoint and identifies and collect topical conversations within a geographical hotspot in the digital landscape, the method comprising the steps of defining a subject by a set of keywords, collecting social media updates through API requests from various digital channels, validating the frequency of digital posts for chosen subjects, geographically and over time, and activating and presenting a live event when the digital conversation continuously exceeds a threshold within a geographical area for a certain period.
The inventive system comprises different units adapted to provide a second screen solution for a user to experience any and all events either through the eyes of the attendees of the event or from a global viewpoint. The system comprises a defining unit adapted to define a subject by a set of keywords, a collecting unit which is adapted to collect social media updates through API requests from various digital channels, a validating unit adapted to execute an algorithm to evaluate the frequency of digital posts for chosen subjects, geographically and over time, and a providing unit adapted to activate and present a live event when the digital conversation continuously exceeds a predetermined threshold within a geographical area for a certain period of time.
An inventive computer program product comprises computer program code, which when executed by a computer unit enables the computer unit to perform the inventive method.
While the solution has been described with reference to specific exemplary aspects, the description is generally only intended to illustrate the inventive concept and should not be taken as limiting the scope of the solution. For example, the terms "keywords", "server" and "hotspots" have been used throughout this description, although any other corresponding parameters, devices, and/or general terms could also be used having the features and characteristics described here. The solution is defined by the appended claims.
