  1. Exhaust hood
  2. Body
  3. Projector
  4. Sensor
  5. Virtual keyboard
  6. Control unit
  7. Figure
  8. Voice processing means
The exhaust hood (1) of the present invention comprises a body (2) that is positioned above the cooker (O) such that there is a distance between the cooker (O) and the body (2), a projector (3) that is disposed on the body (2) and that can project onto the cooker (O) and/or the countertop (T), a sensor (4) that is disposed on the body (2) and that can detect the movement in the area scanned, a virtual keyboard (5) that is projected by the projector (3), and a control unit (6) that is disposed on the body (2) and that performs operations by means of the virtual keyboard (5) (Figure 1, Figure 2).
In the exhaust hood (1) of the present invention, the virtual keyboard (5) is projected onto the countertop (T) surrounding the cooker (O) and whereon the cooker (O) is seated so as to be in the vicinity of the cooker (O) and extend from the cooker (O) towards the user and the position of the virtual keyboard (5) around the cooker (O) is changed by the control unit (6) depending on the command of the user.
The control unit (6) disposed on the body (2) generates a depth map by means of the sensor (4) and the said depth map is transmitted to the processor module (PC) used in the control unit (6) and in the said processor module (PC) it is followed by defining the human hand by using the algorithm determined by the manufacturer. The finger and hand movements are detected by the sensor (4) and converted into vectorial data by the control unit (6) and the household appliances that communicate with one another by wireless communication are controlled by the control unit (6) by means of the said vectorial data.
The user controls the control unit (6) via the virtual keyboard (5) that is projected onto the countertop (T) by means of the projector (3). The virtual keyboard (5) is projected into an area that is predetermined by the manufacturer. The virtual keyboard (5) being projected to an area close to the cooker (O) and to different areas in the vicinity of the cooker (O) depending on the preference of the user increases the utilization effectiveness of the countertop (T). By means of the virtual keyboard (5), the exhaust hood (1) and/or at least one household appliance that communicates wirelessly with the exhaust hood (1) is controlled.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the virtual keyboard (5) comprises a figure (7) that enables the virtual keyboard (5) to be slid to the desired position around the cooker (O) by being pressed on. The sensor (4) that detects that the figure (7) is pressed on, transmits the sliding movement made by the user without lifting off the finger on the figure (7) to the control unit (6), that in turn changes the said movement to vectorial data and the control unit (6) enables the projector (3) to move the virtual keyboard (5) in the direction of the finger movement depending on the vectorial data (Figure 3).
In a derivative of this embodiment, after the figure (7) is pressed on by the user and pushed, the virtual keyboard (5) is positioned at the location it is pushed to. In the case the figure (7) is pressed on for the limit time period (∆t) predetermined by the manufacturer, and the figure (7) is sent to a direction with the finger and the user lifts off the finger from the figure (7), the control unit (6) moves the virtual keyboard (5) to a position located in the direction of the said finger (Figure 3).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the virtual keyboard (5) is opened as a shape predetermined by the manufacturer is drawn on the countertop (T) by the user and/or the virtual keyboard (5) is projected to an area close to the region where the said drawing is made as a shape predetermined by the manufacturer is drawn on the countertop (T) by the user. When a vectorial shape predetermined by the manufacturer, for example a triangle, is drawn on the countertop (T) by the user, the control unit (6) projects the virtual keyboard (5) onto the countertop (T) by means of the projector (3). If the user makes the said drawing when the virtual keyboard (5) is already being projected, the virtual keyboard (5) is carried to the region where the drawing is made or to the vicinity thereof (Figure 4).
In another embodiment of the present invention, as the user touches the countertop (T) and makes a movement that returns to the point first touched without ever lifting off the finger, the virtual keyboard (5) is opened and/or projected to an area close to the region where the drawing is made. If the user draws a shape, for example a circle, square, etc., by touching the countertop (T) and returning to the point he/she started without ever lifting his/her finger off the countertop (T), the virtual keyboard (5) is opened or if already open, is projected onto the region where the drawing is made (Figure 5).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the exhaust hood (1) comprises a voice processing means (8) that is disposed on the body (2) and that enables the virtual keyboard (5) to be opened and/or to be projected to the desired position depending on the sound. The control unit (6) projects the virtual keyboard (5) onto the countertop (T) by means of the projector (3) depending on the data received from the voice processing means (8) and/or enables the virtual keyboard (5) to be projected to the region on the countertop (T) that corresponds to the voice command (Figure 7).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the voice processing means (8) detects the user hitting on the countertop (T) with a rhythm predetermined by the manufacturer and enables the virtual keyboard (5) to be opened and/or projected to the desired region by the sound of the said hit (Figure 6).
By means of the present invention, the sensor (4) detects whether or not there is already an object on the countertop (T) whereon the virtual keyboard (5) is to be projected and if there is an object in the said area, the control unit (6) projects the virtual keyboard (5) to a different region without projecting on the object. The sensor (4) detects the distance between a flat shaped countertop (T) and the exhaust hood (1) and if there is an object that narrows the said distance, the sensor (4) transmits this data to the control unit (6) and if the object overlaps with the region whereon the virtual keyboard (5) is to be projected, the virtual keyboard (5) is automatically projected to a different suitable region, preferably in the vicinity of the object.
By means of the present invention, a virtual keyboard (5) that enables the user to enter commands easily and a control unit (6) that controls the virtual keyboard (5) automatically and/or in accordance with the command entered by the user are realized, wherein the utilization area of the countertop (T) is used effectively.
