Abstract

La présente invention a trait à un système et procédé traitement combiné et simultané de méthane et d'effluent liquide azoté, entre autres, les lixiviats d'enfouissement. Principalement, l'invention propose un système et un procédé de biofiltration pour le traitement combiné et simultané de gaz contenant du méthane (CH4) et d'effluents liquides azotés grâce à une synergie entre les microorganismes nitrifiants et méthanotrophes. L'utilisation d'un système de biofiltration unique selon l'invention évite le recours à deux chaînes de traitement spécifiques au méthane et à l'effluent. De plus la réaction exothermique d'oxydation biologique du méthane permet une régulation de la température du biofiltre même dans les périodes hivernales.
