Description

도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 차세대 방송 시스템의 위한 프로토콜 스텍 (Protocol Stack)을 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명에 따른 방송 시스템은, IP (Internet Protocol) 중심 브로드캐스트 네트워크 (IP centric broadcast network)와 브로드밴드 (broadband) 가 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템에 해당될 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 방송 시스템은, 기존의 MPEG-2 기반의 방송 시스템 과의 호환성을 유지하도록 설계될 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 방송 시스템은, IP 중심 브로드캐스트 네트워크 (IP centric broadcast network), 브로드밴드 (broadband) 네트워크, 및/또는 이동통신 네트워크 (mobile communication network 또는 cellular network) 의 결합에 기반한 하이브리드 방송 시스템에 해당될 수 있다.
도 1을 참조하면, 물리적 계층 (Physical layer) 은, ATSC 시스템 및/또는 DVB 시스템과 같은 방송 시스템에서 채용하는 물리적 프로토콜을 이용할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 본 발명에 따른 물리적 계층에서는, 송/수신기는 지상파 방송 신호을 송신/수신하고 방송 데이터를 포함하는 전송 프레임 (transport frame)를 적절한 형태로 변환할 수 있다.
암호화 (Encapsulation) 계층에서는, 물리적 계층으로부터 획득된 정보로부터, IP 데이터그램 (datagram) 을 획득하거나, 특정 프레임 (예를 들어, RS Frame, GSE-lite, GSE 혹은 신호 프레임 등)을 획득한다. 여기서, 프레임은 IP 데이터 그램들의 집합을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 암호화 계층에서 송신기는, 물리적 계층으로부터 처리된 데이터를 전송 프레임에 포함시키거나, 수신기는, 물리적 계층으로부터 획득한 전송 프레임에서 MPEG-2 TS, IP 데이터 그램, 혹은 특정 프레임을 추출한다.
TPC(transmission parameter channel)는 물리적 계층 (Physical layer) 과 IP 데이터 그램, 혹은 프레임 간의 매핑 (mapping) 정보를 전달하는 전송 파라미터이다.
FIC(fast information channel)는 서비스 및/또는 콘텐츠에 신속하게 접근할 수 있도록 하기 위한 정보 (예, 서비스 ID와 프레임 간의 매핑 정보 등)를 포함한다. FIC는 FAC (Fast Access Channel) 로 명명 될 수도 있다.
본 발명의 방송 시스템은 IP (Internet Protocol), UDP (User Datagram Protocol), TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), ALC/LCT (Asynchronous Layered Coding / Layered Coding Transport), RCP/RTCP (Rate Control Protocol / RTP Control Protocol), HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), FLUTE (File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport) 등의 프로토콜을 이용할 수 있다. 이들 프로토콜 간의 스택 (stack) 은 도 1에 도시된 구조를 참조할 수 있다.
본 발명의 방송 시스템에서 데이터는 ISOBMFF (ISO base media file format) 형태로 전송될 수 있다. ESG (Electrical Service Guide), NRT (Non Real Time), A/V (Audio / Video) 및/또는 일반 데이터는 ISOBMFF 혹은 일반적인 파일의 형태로 전송될 수 있다.
브로드캐스트 네트워크에 의한 데이터의 전송은, linear content의 전송 및/또는 non-linear content의 전송을 포함할 수 있다.
RTP/RTCP 기반 A/V Data(closed caption, emergency alert message 등) 전송은 linear content의 전송에 해당될 수 있다. 한편, A/V 데이터 또는 폐쇄 자막 (closed caption) 은 ALC/LCT 프로토콜을 이용하여 전송/수신될 수 있다.
RTP payload는 NAL (Network Abstraction Layer) 이 포함된 RTP/AV stream 형태 및/또는 ISO based media file format 으로 encapsulation 된 형태로 전송될 수 있다. RTP payload의 전송은 linear content의 전송에 해당될 수 있다. ISO based media file format 으로 encapsulation 된 형태의 전송은 A/V 등에 대한 MPEG DASH media segment를 포함할 수 있다.
FLUTE 기반 ESG의 전송, non-timed data의 전송, NRT content의 전송은 non-linear content의 전송에 해당될 수 있다. 이들은 MIME type 의 파일 형태 및/또는 ISO based media file format 으로 encapsulation 된 형태로 전송될 수 있다. ISO based media file format 으로 encapsulation 된 형태의 전송은 A/V 등에 대한 MPEG DASH media segment를 포함할 수 있다.
브로드밴드 네트워크에 의한 전송은 컨텐츠에 대한 전송과 시그널링 데이터에 대한 전송으로 분리하여 생각할 수 있다.
컨텐츠의 전송은 Linear content (A/V, data(closed caption, emergency alert message 등) 의 전송과 non-linear content (ESG, non-timed data 등)의 전송, MPEG DASH 기반 Media segment(A/V, data) 전송을 포함한다.
시그널링 데이터의 전송은, 방송망에서 전송되는 signaling table (MPEG DASH 의 MPD 포함)을 포함하는 전송이 가능하다.
본 발명의 방송 시스템에서는 방송망을 통해 전송된 linear/non-linear 콘텐츠 간의 동기화, 혹은 방송망을 통해 전송되는 컨텐츠와 broadband 을 통해 전송된 콘텐츠 간의 동기화를 지원할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 하나의 UD 콘텐츠가 방송망과 broadband 을 통해 나눠서 동시에 전송되는 경우, 수신기는 전송 프로토콜에 의존적인 timeline 을 조정하고, 방송망의 컨텐츠와 브로드밴드의 컨텐츠를 동기화 후 하나의 UD 콘텐츠로 재구성할 수 있다.
본 발명의 방송 시스템의 Applications 계층은 양방향성 (Interactivity), 개인 맞춤화(Personalization), Second Screen, ACR (automatic content recognition) 등의 기술적 특징을 구현할 수 있다. 이러한 특징은, 예를 들면, 북미 방송 표준인 ATSC2.0 에서 ATSC3.0으로 확장에서 중요한 특징이다. 예를 들면, 양방향성의 특징을 위하여, HTML5 가 사용될 수 있다.
본 발명의 방송 시스템의 Presentation 계층에서는, 컴포넌트들 사이 또는 양방향 어플리케이션들 사이의 공간적, 시간적 관계를 식별하기 위하여 HTML 및/또는 HTML5가 사용될 수 있다.
도 2는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 차세대 방송 시스템의 수신기를 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 수신기는, 수신부 (미도시), 채널 동조기 (Channel Synchronizer; 2010), 채널 등화기 (Channel Equalizer; 2020), 채널 디코더 (Channel Decoder; 2030), 시그널링 디코더 (Signaling Decoder; 2040), 베이스밴드 동작 컨트롤러 (Baseband Operation Controller; 2050), 서비스 맵 데이터베이스 (Service Map DB; 2060), 트랜스포트 패킷 인터페이스 (Transport Packet Interface; 2070), 브로드밴드 패킷 인터페이스 (Broadband Packet Interface; 2080), 커먼 프로토콜 스택 처리기 (Common Protocol Stack; 2090), 서비스 시그널링 채널 프로세싱 버퍼 및 파서 (Service Signaling Channel Processing Buffer & Parser; 2100), A/V 프로세서 (A/V Processor; 2110), 서비스 가이드 프로세서 (Service Guide Processor; 2120), 어플리케이션 프로세서 (Application Processor; 2130) 및/또는 서비스 가이드 데이터베이스 (Service Guide DB; 2140) 을 포함할 수 있다.
수신부 (미도시)는 방송 신호를 수신한다.
채널 동조기 (Channel Synchronizer; 2010)는 베이스밴드 (Baseband)에서 수신한 신호의 디코딩이 가능하도록 심볼 (symbol) 주파수와 타이밍 (timing)을 동기화한다. 여기서 베이스밴드는 방송 신호가 송/수신되는 영역을 가리킨다.
채널 등화기 (Channel Equalizer; 2020)는 수신된 신호에 대하여 채널 등화를 수행한다. 채널 등화기 (Channel Equalizer; 2020)는 수신된 신호가 다중 경로 (multipath), 도플러 효과 (Doppler effect) 등으로 인해 왜곡되었을 때 이를 보상하는 역할을 수행한다.
채널 디코더 (Channel Decoder; 2030)는 수신된 신호를 의미를 가지는 전송 프레임 (transport frame) 으로 복구한다. 채널 디코더 (Channel Decoder; 2030)는 수신한 신호에 포함된 데이터 또는 전송 프레임에 대하여 순방향 오류 정정 (forward error correction; FEC) 를 수행한다.
시그널링 디코더 (Signaling Decoder; 2040)는 수신된 신호에 포함된 시그널링 데이터를 추출하고 디코딩한다. 여기서, 시그널링 데이터는 후술할 시그널링 데이터 및/또는 서비스 정보 (Service Information; SI)를 포함한다.
베이스밴드 동작 컨트롤러 (Baseband Operation Controller; 2050)는 베이스밴드 (Baseband) 에서의 신호의 처리를 제어한다.
서비스 맵 데이터베이스 (Service Map DB; 2060)는 시그널링 데이터 및/또는 서비스 정보를 저장한다. 서비스 맵 데이터베이스 (Service Map DB; 2060)는 방송 신호에 포함되어 전송된 시그널링 데이터 및/또는 브로드밴드 패킷에 포함되어 전송된 시그널링 데이터를 저장할 수 있다.
트랜스포트 패킷 인터페이스 (Transport Packet Interface; 2070)는 전송 프레임 또는 방송 신호로부터, 트랜스포트 패킷을 추출한다. 트랜스포트 패킷 인터페이스 (Transport Packet Interface; 2070)는 트랜스포트 패킷 (transport packet) 으로부터 시그널링 데이터 또는 IP 데이터그램 (IP datagram) 을 추출한다.
브로드밴드 패킷 인터페이스 (Broadband Packet Interface; 2080)는 인터넷 망을 통하여 방송관련 패킷을 수신한다. 브로드밴드 패킷 인터페이스 (Broadband Packet Interface; 2080)는 인터넷 망을 통해 획득된 패킷 (Packet)을 추출하고, 해당 패킷으로부터 시그널링 데이터 또는 A/V 데이터를 조합 또는 추출한다.
커먼 프로토콜 스택 처리기 (Common Protocol Stack; 2090)는 수신한 패킷을 프로토콜 스택에 포함된 프로토콜에 따라 처리한다. 예를 들면, 커먼 프로토콜 스택 처리기 (Common Protocol Stack; 2090)는 전술한 프로토콜 스택에 따라, 수신한 패킷을 처리할 수 있다.
서비스 시그널링 채널 프로세싱 버퍼 및 파서 (Service Signaling Channel Processing Buffer & Parser; 2100)는 수신된 패킷에 포함된 시그널링 데이터를 추출한다. 서비스 시그널링 채널 프로세싱 버퍼 및 파서 (Service Signaling Channel Processing Buffer & Parser; 2100)는 IP 데이터 그램 등으로부터 서비스 및/또는 컨텐츠의 스캔 및/또는 획득과 관련된 시그널링 정보 추출하고, 이를 파싱한다. 수신된 패킷 내에서 시그널링 데이터는 일정한 위치 또는 채널에 존재할 수 있다. 이러한 위치 또는 채널을 서비스 시그널링 채널이라고 명명할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 서비스 시그널링 채널은 특정 IP주소, UDP Port 넘버, 전송 세션 식별자 등를 가질 수 있다. 수신기는 이러한 특정 IP주소, UDP Port 넘버, 전송 세션 등으로 전송되는 데이터를 시그널링 데이터로 인식할 수 있다.
A/V 프로세서 (A/V Processor; 2110)는 수신된 오디오 및 비디오 데이터에 대한 디코딩 및 프리젠테이션 (presentation) 처리를 수행한다.
서비스 가이드 프로세서 (Service Guide Processor; 2120)는 수신 신호로부터 어나운스먼트 (announcement) 정보를 추출하고, 서비스 가이드 데이터베이스 (Service Guide DB; 2140)를 관리하며, 서비스 가이드 (service guide)를 제공한다.
어플리케이션 프로세서 (Application Processor; 2130)는 수신한 패킷에 포함된 어플리케이션 (application) 데이터 및/또는 어플리케이션 관련 정보를 추출하고, 이를 처리한다.
서비스 가이드 데이터베이스 (Service Guide DB; 2140)는 서비스 가이드 데이터를 저장한다.
도 3은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 전송 프레임 (Transport Frame)을 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 프레임은 물리적 계층 (physical layer)에서 전달되는 데이터의 집합을 나타낸다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 프레임은, P1 데이터, L1 데이터, 공통 PLP (common PLP), PLPn 데이터, 및/또는 보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)를 포함할 수 있다. 여기서, 공통 PLP는 공통 데이터 유닛으로 명명될 수도 있다.
P1 데이터는 전송 신호를 탐지하는데 사용되는 정보에 해당되며, 채널 튜닝을 위한 정보가 포함된다. P1 데이터는 L1 데이터를 디코딩하기 위하여 필요한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 수신기는 P1 데이터에 포함되는 파라미터를 바탕으로, L1 데이터를 디코딩할 수 있다.
L1 데이터는 PLP의 구조 및 전송 프레임 (transport frame)의 구성에 대한 정보를 포함한다. 수신기는 L1 데이터를 이용하여, PLPn (n은 자연수)를 획득하거나, 전송 프레임의 구성을 파악하여, 필요한 데이터를 추출할 수 있다.
Common PLP 는 PLPn 들에 공통적으로 적용되는 서비스 정보를 포함한다. 수신기는 common PLP를 통해 PLP 간의 공유해야 하는 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 전송 프레임 (Transport frame) 의 구조에 따라 common PLP가 존재하지 않을 수도 있다. L1 데이터는 전송 프레임에 common PLP가 포함되는지 여부를 식별하는 정보를 포함할 수 있다.
PLPn은 컨텐츠를 위한 데이터를 포함한다. 오디오, 비디오 및/또는 데이터 등의 컴포넌트는 PLP1~n으로 구성된 인터리빙된 (interleaved) PLP 영역으로 전송된다. 여기서 각각의 서비스(채널)를 구성하는 컴포넌트 (component) 가 각각 어느 PLP로 전송되는가를 식별하는 정보는 L1 데이터 혹은 common PLP 에 포함될 수 있다.
보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)는 차세대 방송 시스템에서 추가되는 변조 방식, 코딩 방식 및/또는 데이터 처리 방식을 위한 데이터를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)는 새롭게 정의되는 데이터 처리 방식을 식별하는 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)는, 추후 확장되는 시스템에 따른, 전송 프레임의 확장에 사용될 수 있다.
L1 데이터를 통해서 서비스 구성에 관한 서비스 정보가 시그널링되는 경우, 수신기에서는 L1 데이터가 수신되는 경우, 바로 서비스 구성을 인식하여 수신기에 적용할 수 있는 있다. 그러나, 이 경우 L1 데이터를 통하여 보낼 수 있는 서비스 정보의 양이 제한되는 단점이 있다. 따라서 L1에는 즉각적으로 적용되어야 하는 서비스 정보를 시그널링하는 것이 적합하다.
L1 (계층 1, 예를 들면, 물리적 계층) 이상의 계층 (프로토콜 계층)을 통해서 서비스 구성에 관한 서비스 정보가 시그널링되는 경우, 해당 계층까지의 디코딩이 완료되어야 서비스 정보를 획득할 수 있고, 이 서비스 정보를 수신기에 적용할 수 있다. 따라서, 이 경우, 해당 서비스 정보가 변경되거나, 변경 사항을 반영하기 어렵거나, 수신기에서 해당 서비스 정보를 즉각적으로 반영하는 것이 힘들다는 단점이 있다. 반면에 이 경우, 다량의 데이터 (시그널링 데이터를 포함) 를 전송할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 따라서, L1 이상의 계층에서는 일반적인 (general) 한 서비스 구성 정보를 전달하는 것이 적합하다.
시그널링을 위하여 L1과 L1 이상의 계층을 함께 사용하는 방법을 통해 전술한 두 가지 방식의 장/단점을 보완할 수 있다. L1에서는 high data rate 특성 등 PLP 레벨 (level)에서 즉각적인 변화를 반영해야 하는 정보, 오디오, 비디오 및/또는 데이터 등 전송 측에서 언제든지 다른 서비스를 위해 구성을 바꿀 수 있는 컴포넌트 (component)에 관한 정보를 전달할 수 있다. 즉, 이러한 정보는 전송 프레임의 L1 데이터에 포함되어 전송될 수 있다. 한편, L1 이상의 계층에서는 각 서비스가 어떤 컴포넌트 (component)로 구성되어 있는지를 식별하는 정보 및/또는 채널 수신에 대한 일반적인 정보를 전송/수신할 수 있다.
도 4는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 차세대 방송 시스템에서의 데이터의 전송 방식을 나타낸 도면이다.
차세대 방송망을 통한 전송 시스템 (delivery system)은 하나 또는 그 이상의 주파수 상에, 하나 이상의 데이터 유닛 (예를 들면, PLP; Physical layer pipe - 동일한 FEC 등을 적용하게 되는 일련의 논리적 데이터 전달 경로, 이하 PLP)을 통하여 방송 서비스 관련 데이터들을 전송할 수 있는 시스템을 일컫는다. 차세대 방송 시스템은 하나 이상의 방송국에서 방송 서비스 관련 시그널링 및 이와 관련된 방송 A/V 콘텐츠 및 데이터를 압축화 (encapsulation) 하여 하나의 전송 시스템을 통해 전송할 수 있다.
각 방송국에서의, 하나의 방송 서비스는 다수의 컴포넌트, 예를 들어 오디오, 비디오, 혹은 데이터 컴포넌트로 구성될 수 있으며 실시간 방송 A/V 서비스의 경우 각 컴포넌트 데이터를 압축화 (encapsulation) 하고, 이를 하나 이상의 데이터 유닛 (예를 들면, PLP) 을 통하여 전송할 수 있다. 비실시간 컨텐츠 혹은 비실시간 데이터인 경우 압축화 (encapsulation) 하고 이를 하나 이상의 데이터 유닛 (예를 들면, PLP)를 통하여 전송할 수 있다. 방송망을 통해 실질적으로 전송되는 전송 프레임 (transport frame) 내에는 하나 이상의 방송국에서 생성된 컴포넌트 데이터를 전달하는 다수의 PLP 데이터가 포함될 수 있다.
도 5는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 네트워크 정보 (network information)를 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에서는, 방송망을 통해 전송되는 전송 프레임 (transport frame) 이 포함하고 있는 데이터들과 연관된 방송국 관련 정보를 시그널링 할 수 있도록 함으로써, 수신기로 하여금 채널 스캔을 용이하게 하고, 사용자로 하여금 특정 방송국에 관련된 서비스를 신속하고 정확하게 제공받을 수 있도록 지원한다. 이러한 시그널링은 네트워크 상에 전달되는 데이터와 연관된 방송국 정보 및 해당 네트워크 상의 전송 시스템 관련 정보를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 네트워크 정보는 network_id 엘레먼트, num_broadcast 엘레먼트, broadcast_id 엘레먼트, original_network_id 엘레먼트, delivery_system_descriptor_length 엘레먼트 및/또는 delivery_system_descriptor() 엘레먼트를 포함할 수 있다.
network_id 엘레먼트는 현재 전송되는 방송 네트워크를 식별하는 고유의 구분자이다.
num_broadcast 엘레먼트는 네트워크 정보에 포함되는 방송 네트워크의 개수를 나타낸다.
broadcast_id 엘레먼트는 전송되는 방송 네트워크 상의 방송국을 식별하는 고유의 구분자이다. broadcast_id 엘레먼트는 MPEG-2 TS 기반의 데이터를 전송하는 방송국의 경우 이는 transport_stream_id 와 같은 값을 가질 수 있다.
original_network_id 엘레먼트는 원래 전송되는 방송 네트워크의 식별하는 고유의 구분자이다. original_network_id 엘레먼트는 원래 전송되는 방송 네트워크가, 현재 전송되는 방송 네트워크와 다를 경우 원래 전송되었던 방송 네트워크에 대한 정보를 포함한다.
delivery_system_descriptor_length 엘레먼트는 delivery_system_descriptor() 엘레먼트의 길이를 나타낸다.
delivery_system_descriptor() 엘레먼트는 현재 방송 네트워크 상에서 전송되는 전송 시스템 (delivery_system) 관련 세부 정보를 포함한다. delivery_system_descriptor() 엘레먼트는 디스크립터 형태로 정의될 수 있다.
도 6은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 네트워크 정보 테이블 (network information table)을 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 네트워크 정보는 테이블 형식으로 정의 되어, 방송 신호에 포함되어 전송될 수 있다. 이 경우, 네트워크 정보 테이블은 복수의 섹션으로 나뉘어 전송될 수도 있다. 이들 각각의 섹션은 간단히 네트워크 정보 테이블로 명명될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 네트워크 정보 테이블은, table_id 필드, section_syntax_indicator 필드, reserved_future_use 필드, section_length 필드, network_id 필드, version_number 필드, current_next_indicator 필드, section_number 필드, last_section_number 필드, network_descriptors_length 필드, descriptor(), 엘레먼트, transport_stream_loop_length 필드, broadcast_id 필드, original_network_id 필드, delivery_system_descriptor_length 필드, delivery_system_descriptor() 엘레먼트 및/또는 CRC_32 필드를 포함할 수 있다.
table_id 필드는 테이블을 식별한다. table_id 필드는 현재 테이블이 네트워크 정보 테이블임을 식별한다.
section_syntax_indicator 필드는 프라이빗 섹션이, section_length 필드 이후의 일반적인 섹션 신택스를 따르는지, 혹은, 별도의 데이터를 따르는지 나타내는 정보이다.
reserved_future_use 필드는 현재 사용하고 있지 않으나, 추후 확장을 위하여 예약된 필드이다.
section_length 필드는 섹션의 길이를 나타낸다.
network_id 필드는 현재 전송되는 방송 네트워크를 식별하는 고유의 구분자이다.
version_number 필드는 이 섹션의 버전 정보를 나타낸다.
current_next_indicator 필드는 이 섹션이 현재 적용 가능한 것인지 여부를 식별한다.
section_number 필드는 섹션의 번호를 나타낸다. 예를 들면, 네트워크 정보 테이블이 복수의 섹션으로 전송되는 경우, 각각의 섹션의 번호를 식별한다.
last_section_number 필드는 마지막 섹션의 번호를 나타낸다. 예를 들면, 네트워크 정보 테이블이 복수의 섹션으로 전송되는 경우, 마지막 섹션의 번호를 나타낸다.
network_descriptors_length 필드는 네트워크 디스크립터의 길이를 나타낸다.
descriptor() 엘레먼트는 네트워크 정보 테이블과 관련한 디스크립터를 포함한다.
transport_stream_loop_length 필드는 트랜스포트 스트림 (transport stream; TS)를 설명하는 loop의 길이를 나타낸다. 본 발명에서는, transport_stream_loop_length 필드는 TS가 아닌, 다른 형태로 방송 데이터가 전송되는 경우, 해당 형태의 데이터를 설명하는 loop의 길이를 나타낼 수 있다.
broadcast_id 필드는 전송되는 방송 네트워크 상의 방송국을 식별하는 고유의 구분자이다. broadcast_id 필드는 MPEG-2 TS 기반의 데이터를 전송하는 방송국의 경우 이는 transport_stream_id 와 같은 값을 가질 수 있다.
original_network_id 필드는 원래 전송되는 방송 네트워크의 식별하는 고유의 구분자이다. original_network_id 필드는 원래 전송되는 방송 네트워크가, 현재 전송되는 방송 네트워크와 다를 경우 원래 전송되었던 방송 네트워크에 대한 정보를 포함한다.
delivery_system_descriptor_length 필드는 전송 시스템에 관한 디스크립터의 길이를 나타낸다.
delivery_system_descriptor() 엘레먼트는 전송 시스템을 설명하는 디스크립터를 포함한다.
CRC_32 필드는 디코더 내의 레지스터의 출력을 0 으로 주는 CRC 값을 나타낸다.
도 7은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 시스템 디스크립터 (delivery_system_descriptor) 를 나타낸 도면이다.
전술한 전송 시스템 디스크립터는 도 7과 같은 형태를 가질 수 있다. 전송 시스템 디스크립터는 전송 시스템 상에서 특정 방송국에서 전달하는 데이터들과 연관된 시그널링 정보을 전달하는 PLP 에 대한 정보를 제공할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 시스템 디스크립터 (delivery_system_descriptor)는 descriptor_tag 엘레먼트, descriptor_length 엘레먼트, delivery_system_id 엘레먼트, base_PLP_id 엘레먼트 및/또는 delivery_system_parameters() 엘레먼트를 포함할 수 있다.
descriptor_tag 엘레먼트는 본 디스크립터를 식별하는 정보이다.
descriptor_length 엘레먼트는 본 디스크립터의 길이를 나타낸다.
delivery_system_id 엘레먼트는 전송되는 방송 네트워크 고유의 전송 시스템을 식별하는 정보이다. delivery_system_id 엘레먼트는 방송 신호를 전송하는 방송 네트워크가 채택한 전송 시스템을 식별하는 정보이다.
base_PLP_id 엘레먼트는 broadcast_id 엘레먼트 (혹은 필드)에 해당하는 특정 방송국의 PSI/SI (Program Specific Information/Service Information) 정보를 포함하는 PLP를 식별하는 정보이다. 수신기는 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트가 가리키는 PLP를 통해 서비스 등에 대한 시그널링 정보 등을 획득할 수 있으며 수신기는 이를 이용하여 해당 서비스를 구성하는 컴포넌트 (component) 데이터를 획득할 수 있다.base_PLP_id 엘레먼트는 시그널링 정보가 물리적 계층 이상의 프로토콜 계층으로 전송되는 경우, 해당 시그널링 정보를 포함하는 데이터 유닛을 식별하는 정보이다. 예를 들면, base_PLP_id 엘레먼트는 시그널링 정보를 포함하는 PLP를 식별하는 정보이다. 수신기는 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트에 의하여 식별되는 PLP를 먼저 파싱하고, 해당 PLP에 포함된 정보를 이용하여, 방송 서비스 또는 방송 컨텐츠와 연관된 시그널링 정보 등을 획득할 수 있다.
본 발명에서는 전술한 시그널링 데이터를 포함하는 PLP를 베이스 PLP로 명명할 수 있다.
북미 방송 시스템인 ATSC에서는 시그널링 정보의 일종인, PSI/PSIP (Program Specific Information / Program and System Information Protocol)를 전송하기 위하여 별도의 채널을 마련하고 있다. 유럽 방송 시스템인 DVB-T2는 전송 프레임 또는 방송 신호에 포함된 모든 PLP를 디코딩하여, 시그널링 정보를 모은다. 유럽 모바일 방송 시스템인 DVB-NGH에서는 공통 PLP에 시그널링 정보를 포함시켜 전송하여, 시그널링 정보를 위하여 예약된 데이터가 제한적이었다. 따라서, 위 시스템들에서는 시그널링 정보를 포함하는 PLP를 별도로 식별할 필요가 없었다. 그러나, 본 발명에서는 하나 이상의 PLP를 통하여 시그널링 정보를 전송할 수 있게 하여, 시그널링 정보를 위한 데이터 전송량의 제한을 없애고, 시그널링 정보를 포함하는 PLP들을 미리 식별 할 수 있도록, base_PLP_id 엘레먼트를 수신기로 시그널링하여, 수신기에서는 시그널링 정보를 얻기 위하여 모든 PLP를 디코딩할 필요 없이, 필요한 PLP만 식별하여 디코딩할 수 있도록 하였다.
delivery_system_parameters() 엘레먼트는 대역폭 (bandwidth), 가드 인터벌 (guard interval), 전송 모드 (transmission mode) 및/또는 센터 주파수 (center frequency) 등의 방송 전송 시스템 특성을 나타내는 파라미터 (parameter)를 포함할 수 있다.
도 8은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 포함하는 네트워크 정보를 전송하는 방법을 나타낸 도면이다.
전술한 전송 시스템 디스크립터 (delivery system descriptor) 를 포함하는 네트워크 정보 (network information) 혹은 네트워크 정보 테이블은 Fast access channel (FAC), FIC, 공통 PLP (common PLP) 및/또는 PLP 을 통해 전송될 수 있다.
도 8의 (a)를 참조하면, 주파수 스캔 범위 내에의 물리적 계층의 데이터는 L1 시그널링 데이터, 방송 데이터 및/또는 FAC (또는 FIC) 데이터를 포함할 수 있다. L1 시그널링 데이터는 네트워크를 식별하는 network_id 정보, 및/또는 방송 시스템을 식별하는 system_id 정보를 포함할 수 있다. FAC는 전술한 네트워크 정보를 포함할 수 있고, 해당 네트워크 정보는 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 포함할 수 있다. FAC 데이터는 주파수 스캔 범위내의 물리적 계층의 데이터의 일정 부분에 포함되어 전송될 수 있으며, 수신기는 해당 부분을 미리 알고 있어, FAC 데이터를 획득할 수 있다. 수신기는 FAC에서 네트워크 정보를 파싱하고, 네트워크 정보 내의 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 파싱하고, 전송 시스템 디스크립터 내의 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트를 파싱하여, 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 PLP를 식별하고, 파싱할 수 있다.
도 8의 (b)를 참조하면, 주파수 스캔 범위 내에의 물리적 계층의 데이터는 L1 시그널링 데이터, 방송 데이터 및/또는 시그널링 데이터를 포함하는 PLP를 포함할 수 있다. L1 시그널링 데이터는 네트워크를 식별하는 network_id 정보, 및/또는 방송 시스템을 식별하는 system_id 정보를 포함할 수 있다. PLP는 전술한 네트워크 정보를 포함할 수 있고, 해당 네트워크 정보는 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 포함할 수 있다. 수신기는 PLP에서 네트워크 정보를 파싱하고, 네트워크 정보 내의 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 파싱하고, 전송 시스템 디스크립터 내의 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트를 파싱하여, 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 PLP를 식별하고, 파싱할 수 있다. 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 PLP는 공통 PLP에 해당될 수 있고, 이 경우, 수신기는 공통 PLP가 전송 프레임 내에서 위치하는 부분을 알고 있으므로, 별다른 정보 없이, 공통 PLP를 파싱할 수 있다. 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 PLP는 일반적인 PLP에 해당될 수 있고, 이 경우, L1 시그널링 데이터는 네트워크 정보를 포함하는 PLP를 식별하는 정보를 포함할 수 있고, 수신기는 이 정보를 이용하여 해당 PLP에 접근한다.
본 발명에서 제안하는 방법으로 네트워크 정보를 시그널링 하는 경우, 수신기는 해당 주파수 당 전송되는 테이터와 관련된 방송국 관련 정보를 손쉽게 획득할 수 있으므로 각 채널 별로 데이터를 전송하는 방송국 정보를 손쉽게 스캔할 수 있다.
도 9는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 네트워크 정보가 FAC를 통하여 전송되는 경우, 수신기가 서비스를 스캔하는 동작을 나타낸 도면이다.
도 9를 참조하면, 네트워크 정보를 FAC (Fast Access Channel) 을 통해 획득하는 경우, 수신기는 채널 스캔시 각 주파수 별로 각 채널 내의 방송국 정보를 획득하고 이를 수집하여 전체 채널에 대한 방송국 정보를 획득 및 관리할 수 있다.
수신기는 각 방송국에 할당된 주파수 대역을 스캔하고, 각각의 주파수 대역에 포함된 FAC를 획득한다. 수신기는 각각의 FAC에서 네트워크 정보를 수집하여, 전체 방송국에 대한 네트워크 정보를 생성할 수 있다. 각 네트워크 정보에 대한 설명은 전술한 설명으로 대체한다. 수신기가 FAC를 획득하는 과정도 전술한 설명으로 대체한다.
도 10은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 전송 디스크립터를 나타내는 도면이다.
하나의 방송 서비스 또는 방송 컨텐츠는 다수의 컴포넌트를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 각각의 컴포넌트는 오디오, 비디오, 혹은 데이터 컴포넌트에 해당될 수 있다. 수신기 는 하나의 방송 서비스 또는 방송 컨텐츠를 제공하기 위해서는 해당 서비스 또는 컨텐츠와 연관된 하나 이상의 컴포넌트를 식별하고, 이들을 획득할 수 있어야 한다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 방송 서비스 (또는 방송 컨텐츠)의 컴포넌트와 획득과 관련된 시그널링 데이터 (예를 들어, PSI/PSIP, DVB-SI 에 포함되는 시그널링 데이터)에, 방송 서비스의 컴포넌트와 물리적 계층 (physical layer)의 PLP (Physical layer pipe) 간의 매핑 정보를 포함시킬 수 있다. 더 나아가 방송 서비스의 컴포넌트와 물리적 계층의 PLP 간의 매핑정보를 별도로 전송할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 각각의 컴포넌트를 위한 컴포넌트-PLP 간의 매핑 정보가 서비스 맵 테이블의 일부 혹은 별도의 시그널링 데이터로 전송될 수 있다.
도 10을 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 디스크립터 (delivery_descriptor)는 방송 서비스 (또는 방송 컨텐츠) 의 컴포넌트와 물리적 계층의 PLP를 연결시켜주기 위한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. PLP_id 엘레먼트는 특정 컴포넌트와 매칭되는 PLP 을 알려준다. 예를 들면, PLP_id 엘레먼트는 MPEG-2 TS 기반 방송 서비스인 경우, 해당 stream type의 PID substream과 매칭되는 PLP를 나타내며, IP 기반 방송 서비스인 경우, 해당 컴포넌트의 IP address/port 와 매칭되는 PLP 을 나타낸다. PLP_id 엘레먼트는 패킷 기반 방송 서비스인 경우, 해당 컴포넌트의 패킷 식별자 (packet id) 와 매칭되는 PLP를 나타낸다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 디스크립터는, descriptor_tag 엘레먼트, descriptor_length 엘레먼트, delivery_system_id 엘레먼트, PLP_id 엘레먼트 및/또는 PLP_profile 엘레먼트를 포함할 수 있다.
descriptor_tag 엘레먼트에 대한 설명은 전술한 동일한 명칭을 가지는 엘레먼트에 대한 설명으로 대체한다.
descriptor_length 엘레먼트 에 대한 설명은 전술한 동일한 명칭을 가지는 엘레먼트에 대한 설명으로 대체한다.
delivery_system_id 엘레먼트는 전송되는 방송 네트워크 고유의 전송 시스템 (delivery system) 구분자이다. delivery_system_id 엘레먼트는 방송 신호를 전송하는 방송 네트워크의 전송 시스템을 식별하는 정보이다.
PLP_id 엘레먼트는 물리적 계층으로 전송되는 PLP의 구분자이다. PLP_id 엘레먼트는 PLP_profile 엘레먼트에 의하여 식별되는 방송 서비스 (또는 방송 컨텐츠)의 컴포넌트에 해당되는 PLP를 식별하는 정보이다.
PLP_profile 엘레먼트는 PLP_id 엘레먼트에 의하여 식별되는 PLP로 전송되는 컴포넌트가 (component) 가 어떤 프로파일 (profile)에 사용되는지를 나타낸다. PLP_profile 엘레먼트가 나타내는 프로파일에 대하여는 후술한다.
도 11은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, PLP_profile 엘레먼트를 나타낸 도면이다.
PLP_profile 엘레먼트는 bitwise selector 형식으로 사용할 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에서 PLP_profile 엘레먼트는 일반 프로파일, 모바일 프로파일, HD 프로파일 혹은 UHD 프로파일을 나타낼 수 있다.
PLP_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 0x00 인 경우, 일반 프로파일 (common profile)로 어떤 profile에도 사용되는 component를 나타낸다.
PLP_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 0x01 인 경우, 모바일 프로파일 (mobile profile)로 모바일 방송에 사용되는 컴포넌트 (component) 를 나타낸다.

전술한 전송 디스크립터는 방송 서비스에 대한 시그널링 데이터 중 서비스 매핑에 필요한 정보를 포함하는 MPEG-2의 프로그램 맵 테이블 (program map table), 또는 서비스 맵 테이블 (service map table) 등의 서비스 혹은 콘텐츠 레벨 디스크립터 (descriptor) 의 하나가 될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 서비스 맵 테이블 (Service Map Table)은, table_id 필드, section_syntax_indicator 필드, private_indicator 필드, section_length 필드, table_id_extension 필드, SMT_protocol_version 필드, version_number 필드, current_next_indicator 필드, section_number 필드, last_section_number 필드, num_services 필드, service_id 필드, service_status 필드, SP_indicator 필드, short_service_name_length 필드, short_service_name 필드, service_category 필드, num_components 필드, IP_version_flag 필드, service_source_IP_address_flag 필드, service_destination_IP_address_flag 필드, service_source_IP_address 필드, service_destination_IP_address 필드, component_source_IP_address_flag 필드, essential_component_indicator 필드, component_destination_IP_address _flag 필드, port_num_count 필드, component_destination_UDP_port_num 필드, component_source_IP_address 필드, component_destination_IP_address 필드, num_component_level_descriptors 필드, component_level_descriptor() 엘레먼트, num_service_level_descriptors 필드 및/또는 service_level_descriptor() 엘레먼트를 포함한다.

도 15는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 방송 신호내에서 특정 컴포넌트를 전송하는 PLP를 획득하는 과정을 나타낸 도면이다.
수신기는 전술한 바에 따라, FAC, 공통 PLP 및/또는 PLP 를 통해 네트워크 정보 (Network information)를 획득하고, 네트워크 정보 내에 포함된 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 파싱한다. 여기서 전송 시스템 디스크립터는 네트워크 정보 보다 상위 레벨의 시그널링 데이터에 포함될 수도 있다. 이 경우, 네트워크 정보를 획득하기 이전에 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 획득할 수도 있다. 수신기는 전송 시스템 디스크립터 내의 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트를 파싱한다.
수신기는 전송 시스템 디스크립터에 포함된 Delivery_system_id 엘레먼트와 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트를 이용하여, L1 시그널링 데이터로부터 베이스 PLP의 위치를 획득하고, 베이스 PLP로 부터 시그널링 데이터를 획득한다. 이때 수신기는 서비스 맵 테이블을 획득할 수 있다.
수신기는 방송 서비스 또는 방송 컨텐츠에 포함되는 각 컴포넌트에 대하여, 매핑되는 delivery_system_id 엘레먼트, PLP_id 엘레먼트 및/또는 PLP_profile 엘레먼트를 파싱한다.
수신기는 특정 컴포넌트에 포함되는 데이터 획득이 필요한 경우, delivery_system_id 엘레먼트, PLP_id 엘레먼트 및/또는 PLP_profile 엘레먼트를 이용하여 해당 PLP 로 부터 컴포넌트의 데이터를 획득한다.
도 16은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 네트워크 정보가 FAC로 전달되는 경우 서비스를 스캔하는 과정을 나타낸 순서도이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 수신기는 다음 채널로 튜닝을 한다 (s16010).
수신기는 FAC로부터 데이터를 디코딩한다 (s16020).
수신기는 FAC로부터 네트워크 정보와 함께 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 디코딩하고, 각각의 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사) 의 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트를 획득한다 (s16030).
수신기는 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트가 가리키는 베이스 PLP를 찾고, 해당 베이스 PLP로부터 시그널링 데이터 (예를 들면, PSI/SI)를 얻는다. 수신기는 시그널링 데이터로부터 서비스 맵 테이블을 획득하고, 각각의 컴포넌트를 위한 컴포넌트-PLP 간의 매핑을 위하여 서비스 맵 테이블 내의 전송 디스크립터를 다운로드 또는 파싱한다 (s16040).
수신기는 수신기의 프로파일 (예를 들면, 모바일 프로파일, HD 프로파일, UHD 프로파일 등)을 고려하여 컴포넌트-PLP 간의 연계 정보를 저장한다 (s16050).
수신기는 해당 서비스 또는 방송사가, 방송 신호내에 마지막 방송 서비스 (또는 마지막 방송사)에 해당되는지 확인 한다 (s16060). 방송 신호내에 다른 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사) 가 존재하는 경우, 해당 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사)에 대하여 전술한 (s16030) 과정 이하를 되풀이한다.
방송 신호 내에 다른 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사) 가 존재하지 않는 경우, 수신기는 해당 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사)에서 위 과정을 통하여 스캔된 채널이 마지막 채널인지 확인한다 (s16070). 수신기는 해당 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사) 에 다른 채널이 존재하는 경우, 전술한 (s16010) 과정 이하를 되풀이 한다.
수신기는 제1 서비스 또는 기 설정된 서비스로 튜닝한다 (s16080).
도 17은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 네트워크 정보가 공통 PLP 또는 특정 PLP로 전달되는 경우 서비스를 스캔하는 과정을 나타낸 순서도이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 수신기는 다음 채널로 튜닝을 한다 (s17010).
수신기는 L1 시그널링 데이터로부터, delivery_system_id, PLP_ID 및/또는 PLP_GROUP_ID를 포함하는 PLP 구조를 디코딩한다 (s17020). L1 시그널링 데이터는 delivery_system_id, PLP_ID 및/또는 PLP_GROUP_ID를 포함할 수 있다. delivery_system_id 는 전송 시스템을 식별하는 정보이다. PLP_ID는 PLP를 식별하는 정보이다. PLP_GROUP_ID는 PLP 그룹을 식별하는 정보이다.
수신기는 PLP_GROUP_ID 에 근거하여 다음 PLP 그룹을 선택하고, 공통 PLP를 디코딩하기 시작한다 (s17030).
수신기는 공통 PLP 로부터 네트워크 정보와 함께 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 디코딩하고, 각각의 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사)의 베이스 PLP를 찾는다 (s17040).
수신기는 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트가 가리키는 베이스 PLP를 찾고, 해당 베이스 PLP로부터 시그널링 데이터 (예를 들면, PSI/SI)를 얻는다. 수신기는 시그널링 데이터로부터 서비스 맵 테이블을 획득하고, 각각의 컴포넌트를 위한 컴포넌트-PLP 간의 매핑을 위하여 서비스 맵 테이블 내의 전송 디스크립터를 다운로드 또는 파싱한다 (s17050).

수신기는 해당 PLP 그룹이 해당 방송 서비스 또는 방송사의 마지막 PLP 그룹에 해당되는지 확인 한다 (s17080). 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사) 내에 다른 PLP 그룹이 존재하는 경우, 다른 PLP 그룹에 대하여 전술한 (s17030) 과정 이하를 되풀이한다.
수신기는 해당 채널이 해당 PLP 그룹의 마지막 채널에 해당되는지 확인 한다 (s17090). 해당 PLP 그룹에 다른 채널이 존재하는 경우, 다른 채널에 대하여 전술한 (s17010) 과정 이하를 되풀이한다.
도 18은 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른, 전송 프레임 (Transport Frame)을 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 프레임은 물리적 계층 (physical layer)에서 전달되는 데이터의 집합을 나타낸다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전송 프레임은, P1 데이터, L1 데이터, 공통 PLP (common PLP), PLPn 데이터, 및/또는 보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)를 포함할 수 있다.
P1 데이터는 전송 신호를 탐지하는데 사용되는 정보에 해당되며, 채널 튜닝을 위한 정보가 포함된다. P1 데이터는 L1 데이터를 디코딩하기 위하여 필요한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 수신기는 P1 데이터에 포함되는 파라미터를 바탕으로, L1 데이터를 디코딩할 수 있다.
L1 데이터는 PLP의 구조 및 전송 프레임 (transport frame)의 구성에 대한 정보를 포함한다. 수신기는 L1 데이터를 이용하여, PLPn (n은 자연수)를 획득하거나, 전송 프레임의 구성을 파악하여, 필요한 데이터를 추출할 수 있다.
Common PLP 는 PLPn 들에 공통적으로 적용되는 서비스 정보를 포함한다. 수신기는 common PLP를 통해 PLP 간의 공유해야 하는 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 전송 프레임 (Transport frame) 의 구조에 따라 common PLP가 존재하지 않을 수도 있다. L1 데이터는 전송 프레임에 common PLP가 포함되는지 여부를 식별하는 정보를 포함할 수 있다.
PLPn은 컨텐츠를 위한 데이터를 포함한다. 오디오, 비디오 및/또는 데이터 등의 컴포넌트는 PLP1~n으로 구성된 인터리빙된 (interleaved) PLP 영역으로 전송된다. 이 경우, 각각의 서비스(채널)를 구성하는 컴포넌트 (component) 가 각각 어느 PLP로 전송되는가를 식별하는 정보가 시그널링 되어야 한다.
보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)는 차세대 방송 시스템에서 추가되는 변조 방식, 코딩 방식 및/또는 데이터 처리 방식을 위한 데이터를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)는 새롭게 정의되는 데이터 처리 방식을 식별하는 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 보조 데이터 (Auxiliary data)는, 추후 확장되는 시스템에 따른, 전송 프레임의 확장에 사용될 수 있다.
도 19는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 컴포넌트-PLP 매핑 정보를 나타낸 도면이다.
전술한 바와 같이, 각각의 서비스(채널)를 구성하는 컴포넌트 (component) 가 각각 어느 PLP로 전송되는가를 식별하는 정보가 시그널링 되어야 한다. 이를 위해 공통 PLP (Common PLP), 특정 PLP 및/또는 FAC 를 통해 도 19에 도시된 바와 같은, 컴포넌트와 PLP 간의 매핑 정보를 시그널링 할 수 있다.
컴포넌트-PLP 매핑 정보에는, PLP 관련 정보로, PLP id 엘레먼트, delivery_system_id 엘레먼트, PLP profile 엘레먼트가 포함될 수 있으며, 컴포넌트 관련 정보로, 컴포넌트의 encapsulation 방식 정보, 이에 따른 encapsulation parameter 관련 정보 등의 정보가 포함될 수 있다.
컴포넌트-PLP 매핑 정보는 num_PLP 엘레먼트, delivery_system_id 엘레먼트, PLP_id 엘레먼트, PLP_profile 엘레먼트, num_component 엘레먼트, identifier_type 엘레먼트 및/또는 component_parameters(identifer_type) 엘레먼트를 포함할 수 있다.
num_PLP 엘레먼트는 전송 프레임 (transport frame) 이 전송하는 PLP 의 개수를 나타낸다.
delivery_system_id 엘레먼트는 전송되는 방송 네트워크 고유의 전송 시스템 (delivery system) 구분자이다. delivery_system_id 엘레먼트에 대한 더욱 상세한 설명은 전술한 동일한 명칭을 가지는 엘레먼트에 대한 설명으로 대체한다.
PLP_id 엘레먼트는 물리적 계층으로 전송되는 PLP의 구분자이다. PLP_id 엘레먼트에 대한 더욱 상세한 설명은 전술한 동일한 명칭을 가지는 엘레먼트에 대한 설명으로 대체한다.
PLP_profile 엘레먼트는 PLP로 전송되는 컴포넌트 (component)가 어떤 프로파일 (profile)에 사용되는지를 나타낸다. PLP_profile 엘레먼트에 대한 더욱 상세한 설명은 전술한 동일한 명칭을 가지는 엘레먼트에 대한 설명으로 대체한다.
num_component 엘레먼트는 해당 PLP을 통해 전송하는 컴포넌트의 개수를 나타낸다.
identifier_type 엘레먼트는 해당 컴포넌트가 압축화 (encapsulation) 된 방식에 따라 해당 컴포넌트를 식별하는 형식을 나타낸다. 예를 들면, identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이 00인 경우, MPEG-2 TS의 PID, 01인 경우, IP address 와 port number, 02인 경우, 일련의 ID 를 나타낼 수 있다.
component_parameters(identifer_type) 엘레먼트 또는 component_parameters 엘레먼트는 컴포넌트 (component)의 식별자 방식 (예를 들면, identifier_type 엘레먼트가 나타내는 정보에 의한 방식) 에 따른 컴포넌트 관련 파라미터를 포함한다.
도 20은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이, 컴포넌트가 MPEG-2 TS로 압축된 것을 가리키는 경우의, component_parameters 엘레먼트를 나타낸 도면이다.
예를 들어, identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이 00 인 경우, 각 컴포넌트들은 MPEG-2 TS 로 압축화 (encapsulation) 됨을 나타낼 수 있으며, 각 컴포넌트들은 pid (packet identifier) 값을 이용하여 식별할 수 있다. 그러므로 component_parameters 는 도 20과 같은 신택스를 가질 수 있다.
identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이, 컴포넌트가 MPEG-2 TS로 압축된 것을 가리키는 경우의, component_parameters 엘레먼트는 pid 엘레먼트를 포함한다.
pid 엘레먼트는 서비스/컨텐츠를 포함하는 MPEG-2 트랜스포트 스트림 (transport stream)의 PID (packet identifier) 값을 나타낼 수 있다.
도 21은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이, 컴포넌트가 IP 주소와 포트 번호로 식별됨을 나타내는 경우, component_parameters 엘레먼트를 나타낸 도면이다.
예를 들어, identifier_type 의 값이 01 인 경우, 방송 서비스 또는 방송 컨텐츠의 각 컴포넌트들은 IP 주소와 포트번호를 이용하여 식별할 수 있다. 이 경우, component_parameters 엘레먼트는 도 21과 같은 신택스를 가질 수 있다.
identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이, 컴포넌트가 IP 주소와 포트 번호로 식별됨을 나타내는 경우, component_parameters 엘레먼트는, header_compression_type 엘레먼트, context_profile 엘레먼트, context_id 엘레먼트, static_chain_length 엘레먼트, static_chain_byte 엘레먼트, IP_version_flag 엘레먼트, num_IP 엘레먼트, IP_address 엘레먼트 및/또는 port_num 엘레먼트를 포함할 수 있다.
header_compression_type 엘레먼트는, IP 헤더 (header)의 압축 (compression) 방식을 나타낸다. 예를 들면, header_compression_type 엘레먼트의 값이, ‘0’ 인 경우, 압축이 되지 않았음을 나타낼 수 있다 (No compression). header_compression_type 엘레먼트의 값이, ‘1’ 인 경우, RoHC (Robust Header Compression) 방식이 사용되었음을 나타낼 수 있다.
context_profile 엘레먼트는, IP 헤더 (Header) 압축 시 어떤 프로토콜까지 압축이 되었는지를 나타낸다. 예를 들면, context_profile 엘레먼트는, RFC 3095와 일치할 수 있다. context_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘0’ 인 경우, 압축이 사용되지 않았거나, RoHC 방식이 사용되었음을 나타낼 수 있다. context_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘1’인 경우, RTP까지 해당 압축이 사용되었음을 나타낼 수 있다. context_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘2’ 인 경우, UDP까지 해당 압축이 사용되었음을 나타낼 수 있다. context_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘3’ 인 경우, ESP까지 해당 압축이 사용되었음을 나타낼 수 있다. context_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘4’ 인 경우, IP까지 해당 압축이 사용되었음을 나타낼 수 있다. context_profile 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘5’ 인 경우, 아직 정의되지 않았으나, 다른 프로토콜까지 해당 압축 방식이 사용되었음을 나타내도록 정의할 수 있다.
context_id 엘레먼트는, IP 헤더 (header)가 압축된 context id를 나타낸다.
static_chain_length 엘레먼트는, static_chain_byte 엘레먼트의 길이를 나타낸다.
static_chain_byte 엘레먼트는, 헤더 압축 시 스태틱 필드 (static field)로 구성된 정보를 나타낸다.
IP_version_flag 엘레먼트는 IP 데이터 그램의 IP 주소 형식을 나타낸다. 예를 들어, IP_version_flag 엘레먼트의 값이 ‘0’인 경우 IPv4 형식을, 1인 경우 향후 IPv6 주소 형식을 사용함을 나타낼 수 있다.
num_IP 엘레먼트는 컴포넌트를 전송하는 IP 데이터그램의 개수를 나타낸다.
IP_address 엘레먼트는 IP 데이터그램 (IP datagram) 의 IP address 을 나타낸다.
port_num 엘레먼트는 IP 데이터그램 (IP datagram)의 포트 번호를 나타낸다.
도 22는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, identifier_type 엘레먼트의 값이, 컴포넌트가 ID 값을 이용하여 식별됨을 나타내는 경우, component_parameters 엘레먼트를 나타낸 도면이다.
예를 들면, identifier_type 의 값이 02 인 경우, 각 컴포넌트들은 일련의 ID 값을 이용하여 식별할 수 있다. 그러므로 component_parameters 엘레먼트는 도 22와 같은 신택스를 가질 수 있다.
이 경우, component_parameters 엘레먼트는 id 엘레먼트를 포함한다.
id 엘레먼트는 컴포넌트를 가리키는 ID 값 (transport packet 등의 ID 값이 될 수 있음)을 나타낸다.
도 23은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 방송 서비스 또는 방송 컨텐츠의 컴포넌트를 획득하는 과정을 나타낸 도면이다.
사용자가 특정 방송 서비스 (또는 방송사) 를 선택하면, 수신기는 네트워크 정보 (network information) 을 획득한다. 네트워크 정보를 획득하는 방법은 전술한 방법 중 어느 하나 이상의 방법에 대한 설명으로 대체한다. 수신기는 네트워크 정보 내의 base_PLP_id 엘레먼트의 정보를 이용하여, 시그널링 데이터를 포함하는 베이스 PLP를 식별한다.
베이스 PLP를 통하여 L2 시그널링 데이터를 획득할 수 있다. 즉 베이스 PLP는 L2 시그널링 데이터의 위치에 관한 정보를 포함할 수 있고, 수신기는 이 위치 정보를 이용하여 L2 시그널링 데이터를 얻을 수 있다. 또는 베이스 PLP에 L2 시그널링 데이터가 포함될 수 있다. L2 시그널링 데이터는 PLP를 디코딩하는데 필요한 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, PLP에 적용된 압축 방식을 식별하는 정보가 L2 시그널링 데이터에 포함될 수 있다.
베이스 PLP에 포함되는 시그널링 데이터는 서비스 맵 테이블을 포함할 수 있다. 또는 베이스 PLP는 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 특정 주소에 대한 정보를 포함할 수 있고, 수신기는 해당 주소에서 시그널링 데이터를 획득할 수 있다. 수신기는 서비스 맵 테이블에 포함된 정보를 이용하여, 특정 방송 서비스에 포함되는 컴포넌트를 식별할 수 있다. 서비스 맵 테이블에 포함되는 정보에 대한 설명은 전술한 설명으로 대체한다.
수신기는 컴포넌트-PLP 매핑 정보를 획득한다. 컴포넌트-PLP 매핑 정보에 대한 상세한 설명은 전술한 설명으로 대체한다. 수신기는 컴포넌트-PLP 매핑 정보를 이용하여, 해당 방송 서비스에 포함되는 컴포넌트를 전송하는 PLP를 찾아, 해당 PLP로 전송되는 데이터를 디코딩하고, 해당 컴포넌트를 획득하여, 방송 서비스를 구성한다.
도 24는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른, 차세대 방송 시스템에서 서비스 및/또는 컨텐츠를 획득하는 구조를 나타낸 도면이다.
본 발명에서 제안한 방안은 차세대 방송 시스템에서는 수신기로 하여금 서비스 혹은 컨텐츠를, 방송망 혹은 인터넷망을 통하여 효율적으로 획득할 수 있도록 한다.
도 24는 하이브리드 방송 시스템에서 서비스 혹은 콘텐츠 획득을 위한 일 예를 나타낸다.
예를 들면, 서비스 0 (Service 0)은 각각 하나의 비디오 (video) 와 오디오 (audio) 로 구성되며 각 비디오/오디오는 지상파 방송망을 통하여 전송되는 IP 스트림 (IP stream)을 통하여 획득할 수 있다.
서비스 1 (Service 1)의 경우, 비디오를 전송하는 IP 스트림과 오디오를 전송하는 IP 스트림은 하나의 PLP를 통하여 전송되므로, 수신기는 해당 PLP를 디코딩하면, 서비스 1을 획득할 수 있다.
서비스 N (Service N)의 경우 비디오는 지상파 방송망을 통하여 전송되나, 오디오의 경우 인터넷망을 통하여 획득할 수 있어야 수신기 상에서 원활하게 비디오/오디오를 효과적으로 제공할 수 있다.
위와 같이, 수신기가 서비스 0, 서비스 1, 또는 서비스 N에 포함되는 컴포넌트를 획득하는 과정에서, 전술한 본 발명의 실시예들이 사용될 수 있다. 즉, 수신기는 수신기가 서비스 0, 서비스 1, 또는 서비스 N에 포함되는 각각의 컴포넌트를 전송하는 PLP를 식별하여, 해당 PLP 들을 디코딩하고, 원하는 서비스를 획득할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면, 대용량의 시그널링 데이터를 방송 신호에 포함시켜 전송할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면, 방송 신호 내에서 대용량의 시그널링 데이터가 포함된 영역을 쉽게 찾을 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면, 방송 신호에 포함되는 데이터 유닛 (예를 들면, PLP) 중, 특정 서비스 또는 컨텐츠에 포함되는 컴포넌트를 전송하는 데이터 유닛을 식별하고, 해당 데이터 유닛에 의하여 전송되는 데이터를 획득할 수 있다.
설명의 편의를 위하여 각 도면을 나누어 설명하였으나, 각 도면에 서술되어 있는 실시 예들을 병합하여 새로운 실시 예를 구현하도록 설계하는 것도 가능하다. 그리고, 당업자의 필요에 따라, 이전에 설명된 실시 예들을 실행하기 위한 프로그램이 기록되어 있는 컴퓨터에서 판독 가능한 기록 매체를 설계하는 것도 본 발명의 권리범위에 속한다.
본 발명에 따른 장치 및 방법은 상술한 바와 같이 설명된 실시 예들의 구성과 방법이 한정되게 적용될 수 있는 것이 아니라, 상술한 실시 예들은 다양한 변형이 이루어질 수 있도록 각 실시 예들의 전부 또는 일부가 선택적으로 조합되어 구성될 수도 있다.
한편, 본 발명은 네트워크 디바이스에 구비된 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 기록매체에 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 코드로서 구현하는 것이 가능하다. 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 기록매체는 프로세서에 의해 읽혀질 수 있는 데이터가 저장되는 모든 종류의 기록장치를 포함한다. 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 기록 매체의 예로는 ROM, RAM, CD-ROM, 자기 테이프, 플로피디스크, 광 데이터 저장장치 등이 있으며, 또한, 인터넷을 통한 전송 등과 같은 캐리어 웨이브의 형태로 구현되는 것도 포함한다. 또한, 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 기록매체는 네트워크로 연결된 컴퓨터 시스템에 분산되어, 분산방식으로 프로세서가 읽을 수 있는 코드가 저장되고 실행될 수 있다.
또한, 이상에서는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시 예에 대하여 도시하고 설명하였지만, 본 발명은 상술한 특정의 실시 예에 한정되지 아니하며, 청구범위에서 청구하는 본 발명의 요지를 벗어남이 없이 당해 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의해 다양한 변형실시가 가능한 것은 물론이고, 이러한 변형실시들은 본 발명의 기술적 사상이나 전망으로부터 개별적으로 이해돼서는 안 될 것이다.
그리고, 당해 명세서에서는 물건 발명과 방법 발명이 모두 설명되고 있으며, 필요에 따라 양 발명의 설명은 보충적으로 적용될 수가 있다.

  1. 디지털 방송 신호를 수신하는 수신부;
    상기 수신한 방송 신호에 포함된, FAC 데이터 또는 공통 데이터 유닛을 파싱하고, 상기 FAC 데이터 또는 공통 데이터로부터, 네트워크 정보를 파싱하는 시그널링 디코더, 여기서 상기 네트워크 정보는, 방송 신호 내에서 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 베이스 데이터 유닛을 식별하는 베이스 데이터 유닛 식별자를 포함하고;
    상기 베이스 데이터 유닛 식별자가 가리키는 베이스 데이터 유닛을 파싱하고, 상기 베이스 데이터 유닛으로부터 시그널링 데이터를 파싱하는 서비스 시그널링 채널 프로세서; 및
    상기 시그널링 데이터를 이용하여, 방송 서비스를 디코딩하는 오디오/비디오 프로세서;
    를 포함하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 처리하는 수신기.

  6. 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 네트워크 정보는,
    방송 네트워크 상의 방송국을 식별하는 방송국 식별자를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 처리하는 수신기.
  7. 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 전송 디스크립터는,
    방송 네트워크 상의 전송 시스템을 식별하는 전송 시스템 식별자; 및
    상기 데이터 유닛 식별자의 의하여 식별되는 상기 데이터 유닛으로 전송되는 컴포넌트가 어떤 프로파일 (profile) 에 사용되는지를 식별하는 데이터 유닛 프로파일 정보;
    를 더 포함하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 처리하는 수신기.
  8. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 FAC 데이터는, 물리적 계층에서 서비스 접근하는데 필요한 정보를 포함하고,
    상기 공통 데이터 유닛은 다른 데이터 유닛들에 공통적으로 적용되는 서비스 정보를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 처리하는 수신기.
  9. 방송 서비스를 위한 컴포넌트를 포함하는 데이터 유닛을 생성하는 단계;
    시그널링 데이터를 포함하는 베이스 데이터 유닛을 생성하는 단계;
    네트워크 정보를 생성하는 단계, 여기서, 상기 네트워크 정보는, 방송 신호 내에서 상기 시그널링 데이터를 전송하는 상기 베이스 데이터 유닛을 식별하는 베이스 데이터 유닛 식별자를 포함하고;
    상기 생성된 네트워크 정보를 FAC 데이터 또는 공통 데이터 유닛에 삽입하는 단계;
    상기 데이터 유닛, FAC 데이터 및 공통 데이터 유닛을 포함하는 방송 신호를 생성하는 단계; 및
    상기 생성된 방송 신호를 전송하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 송신하는 방법.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 네트워크 정보는, 전송 시스템 디스크립터를 포함하고,
    상기 베이스 데이터 유닛 식별자는 상기 전송 시스템 디스크립터에 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 송신하는 방법.
  11. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 시그널링 데이터는, 방송 서비스를 설명하는 서비스 맵 엘레먼트를 포함하고,
    상기 서비스 맵 엘레먼트는, 상기 방송 서비스에 포함되는 하나 이상의 컴포넌트와 물리적 계층의 데이터 유닛를 연결시켜주기 위한 정보를 포함하는 전송 디스크립터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 송신하는 방법.
  12. 제 11 항에 있어서,
    상기 서비스 맵 엘레먼트는, 상기 방송 서비스에 포함되는 하나 이상의 컴포넌트의 주소를 가리키는 컴포넌트 주소 정보를 포함하고,
    상기 전송 디스크립터는, 상기 하나 이상의 컴포넌트를 전송하는 데이터 유닛을 식별하는 데이터 유닛 식별자를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 송신하는 방법.
  13. 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 네트워크 정보는,
    방송 네트워크 상의 방송국을 식별하는 방송국 식별자를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 송신하는 방법.
  14. 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 전송 디스크립터는,
    방송 네트워크 상의 전송 시스템을 식별하는 전송 시스템 식별자; 및
    상기 데이터 유닛 식별자의 의하여 식별되는 상기 데이터 유닛으로 전송되는 컴포넌트가 어떤 프로파일 (profile) 에 사용되는지를 식별하는 데이터 유닛 프로파일 정보;
    를 더 포함하는 방송망과 브로드밴드망이 결합된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 방송 신호를 송신하는 방법.
  15. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 FAC 데이터는, 물리적 계층에서 서비스 접근하는데 필요한 정보를 포함하고,
