Abstract

The invention is directed to a bicycle having a steer (2), a frame with front wheel (4), rear wheel (5), front wheel suspension (8), rear wheel suspension (9) and two pedals (13), wherein the pedals (13) are suspended from the frame at the front by pendulums (14) and are supported at their rear sides by cranks (11), which cranks (11) directly drive the axle of the rear wheel (7), wherein the design of the frame, pedals (13), cranks (11) and pendulum (14) are so chosen that, in use, the front side of the pedal (13) where the foot of the user is positioned and during the half cycle in which the pedal (13) is loaded first moves forward and afterward moves a larger distance backward.
