Description

ラットレース回路、アンテナ装置およびラットレース回路の形成方法
 本発明は、伝送線路により構成される回路構成に係る技術に関する。
 図10はアンテナ装置の一例を模式的に表している。このアンテナ装置100は、第1アレーアンテナ101と、第2アレーアンテナ102と、Σ/Δ回路103と、伝送線路105~108とを有している。
 第1アレーアンテナ101は、基板(例えば、誘電体基板)110と、当該基板110に形成された導体パターンによる複数の放射素子111とを有している。ここでは、それら放射素子111のパターンは、同様な形状および同様な大きさを有し、マトリックス状に基板110に配置されている。
 第2アレーアンテナ102は、第1アレーアンテナ101と同様な構成を有し、当該第1アレーアンテナ101に並設されている。つまり、第2アレーアンテナ102は、第1アレーアンテナ101と共通の基板110に複数の同様な放射素子112がマトリックス状に配置された構成を備えている。
 伝送線路105は、第1アレーアンテナ101の各放射素子111をΣ/Δ回路103に電気的に接続する線路(給電線路)である。当該伝送線路105は、各放射素子111で受信した電波に応じた受信信号(以下、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号S1とも記す)をΣ/Δ回路103に伝送する機能を備えている。伝送線路106は、第2アレーアンテナ102の各放射素子112をΣ/Δ回路103に電気的に接続する線路(給電線路)である。当該伝送線路106は、各放射素子112で受信した電波に応じた受信信号(以下、第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号S2とも記す)をΣ/Δ回路103に伝送する機能を備えている。
 Σ/Δ回路103は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号S1と、第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号S2とを同相で合成する回路構成と、それら受信信号S1,S2を逆相で合成する回路構成とを備えている。伝送線路107は、Σ/Δ回路103から、受信信号S1,S2が同相で合成された信号を出力する線路(Σポート)である。伝送線路108は、Σ/Δ回路103から、受信信号S1,S2が逆相で合成された信号を出力する線路(Δポート)である。
 上記のように構成されているアンテナ装置100は、例えば、レーダに使用される。アンテナ装置100では、伝送線路108から出力する信号に基づいて、レーダの探知(追尾)対象(目標物)に対するアンテナ装置100の向きを検知することができる。すなわち、伝送線路(Δポート)108から出力する信号のレベルが低い場合には、第1アレーアンテナ101と第2アレーアンテナ102との受信信号S1,S2は同相か、あるいは、それら受信信号の位相ずれが小さい状態である。つまり、第1アレーアンテナ101と第2アレーアンテナ102は、レーダの探知対象(目標物)に正面を向けている状態である。反対に、伝送線路(Δポート)108から出力する信号のレベルが高い場合には、第1アレーアンテナ101と第2アレーアンテナ102との受信信号S1,S2の位相ずれが大きい状態である。この場合には、第1アレーアンテナ101と第2アレーアンテナ102とは、レーダの探知対象(目標物)に対して遠近方向にずれている状態である。
 ところで、Σ/Δ回路103として、図13に表されるようなラットレース回路が用いられることがある。このラットレース回路は、例えば、基板110の基板面に形成される線路(導体パターン)により構成される。つまり、当該ラットレース回路は、ポート(端子)として機能する4本のポート線路115~118と、これらポート線路115~118に共通に接続するリング状線路119とを有している。図13の例では、リング状線路119は、線路120~123に区分することができる。線路120は、ポート線路115,116がそれぞれ接続している接続部間の線路である。線路121は、ポート線路116,117がそれぞれ接続している接続部間の線路である。線路122は、ポート線路117,118がそれぞれ接続している接続部間の線路である。線路123は、ポート線路118,115がそれぞれ接続している接続部間の線路である。線路120はλg/4線路として機能する。つまり、線路120は、ポート線路を伝送する信号(第1と第2のアレーアンテナ101,102の受信信号S1,S2)の波長λgの4分の1に応じた電気的な長さ(電気長)を有する。同様に、線路121および線路122もλg/4線路として機能する。線路123は3λg/4線路として機能する。
 例えば、図13に表されるラットレース回路を図10に表されるアンテナ装置100のΣ/Δ回路103に適用する場合には、ポート線路115は伝送線路105に接続され、ポート線路117は伝送線路106に接続される。また、ポート線路116は伝送線路(Σポート)107に接続され、ポート線路118は伝送線路(Δポート)108に接続される。
 リング状線路119において、上記の如く、ポート線路115,116間の線路120と、ポート線路116,117間の線路121とは同様な線路長である。このため、ポート線路115を伝送する受信信号と、ポート線路117を伝送する受信信号とは、ポート線路116において同相で合成される。また、ポート線路115,118間の線路123と、ポート線路117,118間の線路122とには、半波長((1/2)×λg)分の線路長の差がある。このため、ポート線路115を伝送する受信信号と、ポート線路117を伝送する受信信号とは、ポート線路118において逆相で合成される。
 特許文献1(特開2008-005063号公報)はフェーズドアレイアンテナ装置に関し、当該特許文献1には、信号を合成する回路としてラットレース回路を利用する構成が表されている。特許文献2(特開2012-175329号公報)には、フェーズドアレイアンテナの給電回路にラットレース回路が含まれている構成が表されている。特許文献3(実開平01-003307号公報)には、複数のラットレース回路を組み合わせたラットレース回路が表されている。特許文献4(特開2007-013922号公報)には、アンテナの給電線に介設されているフィルターをマイクロストリップ線路により形成する構成が表されている。特許文献5(特開2010-057099号公報)には、センサやレーダ等の信号の送受信に関わる高周波送受信回路の構成が表されている。

 ところで、アンテナの電気的性能の確保のため、放射素子間の間隔が狭くなる傾向にある。これにより、放射素子を形成する基板110において、Σ/Δ回路103(ラットレース回路)を形成することが可能な領域が狭くなってきている。このため、放射素子111,112とΣ/Δ回路103とが基板110の同じ基板面(あるいは同じ層)に形成される場合には、放射素子111,112とΣ/Δ回路103とが互いに干渉してしまうことが懸念される。また、放射素子111,112とΣ/Δ回路103とが基板110の互いに異なる層に形成される場合には、アンテナの放射特性の悪化を防止することを考慮すると、放射素子の放射方向にΣ/Δ回路103の形成領域がオーバーラップしないことが好ましい。
 このような事情を考慮した対策としては、例えば、Σ/Δ回路103(ラットレース回路)を基板110とは別の基板に形成する(Σ/Δ回路103を別部品とする)ことが考えられる。この場合には、別部品であるΣ/Δ回路103(ラットレース回路は、例えば、基板110に形成されている伝送線路105,106に同軸コネクタによって接続される。あるいは、Σ/Δ回路103をラットレース回路ではなく、導波管により構成し、当該Σ/Δ回路103(マジックT)を、基板110における放射素子111,112の形成面とは反対側の基板面に設ける対策も考えられる。
 しかしながら、放射素子111,112とΣ/Δ回路103を基板110の別々の層に形成する手法や、Σ/Δ回路103を別部品とする手法や、Σ/Δ回路103を導波管により構成する手法では、次のような問題が発生する。つまり、それらのような手法は、アンテナ装置の製造工程が煩雑化するという問題や、アンテナ装置のコストが増加するという問題や、アンテナ装置の小型化および薄型化を妨げるという問題等を招く。
 本発明は上記課題を解決するためになされている。すなわち、本発明の主な目的は、ラットレース回路が搭載される装置の製造工程の煩雑化およびコスト増加を防止しつつ、当該装置の小型化および薄型化に対応でき、さらに、装置性能の向上に寄与できる回路構成の技術を提供することにある。
 上記目的を達成するために、本発明のラットレース回路は、
 伝送対象の信号における波長λの4分の1に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによるλ/4線路と、
 前記波長λの4分の3に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによる3λ/4線路とを有し、
 3本の前記λ/4線路と、前記3λ/4線路とは、一連に接続されることによって、閉ループを形成し、前記3λ/4線路は、その閉ループによって囲まれた領域の内側に向けて入り込む線路部位を有し、当該線路部位は、入り込み入側が開口し、かつ、入り込み奥側が前記開口間隔よりも広がっている領域の縁部に沿うような環状に形成されており、
 前記閉ループを形成している前記線路間の各接続部には、前記信号が入出力する端子線路がさらに接続されており、各接続部において、前記端子線路から当該端子線路に接続する前記λ/4線路あるいは前記3λ/4線路である2本の線路にそれぞれ向かう線路の伸長方向は、前記端子線路における線路幅の中心線を対称中心線とした線対称である構成を有している。
 本発明のアンテナ装置は、
 共通の基板に形成され信号を送受信する導体パターンによる複数の放射素子と、
 前記放射素子による受信信号を合成する回路とを有し、
 前記回路は、上記本発明のラットレース回路である。
 本発明のラットレース回路の形成方法は、
 伝送対象の信号における波長λの4分の1に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによる3本のλ/4線路と、前記波長λの4分の3に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによる3λ/4線路とは、一連に接続されることによって、閉ループを形成し、
 前記3λ/4線路は、その閉ループによって囲まれた領域の内側に向けて入り込む線路部位を有し、当該線路部位は、入り込み入側が開口し、かつ、入り込み奥側が前記開口間隔よりも広がっている領域の縁部に沿うような環状に形成されており、
 前記閉ループを形成している前記線路間の各接続部において、前記信号が入出力する端子線路をさらに接続し、当該端子線路から当該端子線路に接続する前記λ/4線路あるいは前記3λ/4線路である2本の線路にそれぞれ向かう線路の伸長方向は、前記端子線路における線路幅の中心線を対称中心線とした線対称である。
 本発明は、ラットレース回路が搭載される装置(例えば、アンテナ装置)の製造工程の煩雑化およびコスト増加を防止しつつ、装置の小型化および薄型化に対応でき、さらに、装置性能の向上に寄与できる。

 以下に、本発明に係る実施形態を図面を参照しつつ説明する。
 (第1実施形態)
 図1Aは、本発明に係る第1実施形態のラットレース回路を表すモデル図である。このラットレース回路1は、3本のλ/4線路3~5と、3λ/4線路6と、4本の端子線路10~13とを有している。なお、λは線路を伝送する信号の波長である。
 λ/4線路3~5は、それぞれ、伝送対象の信号における波長λの4分の1に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンにより形成されている。3λ/4線路6は、波長λの4分の3に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンにより形成されている。この3λ/4線路6は、入り込み線路部位7を有している。
 λ/4線路3~5と3λ/4線路6とは、一連(一続き)に接続されることによって、閉ループ8を形成している。3λ/4線路6における入り込み線路部位7は、その閉ループ8によって囲まれた領域の内側に入り込んでいる。入り込み線路部位7は、入り込み入側が開口し(図1に表されているA部分を参照)、かつ、入り込み奥側(図1に表されているB部分を参照)が前記開口間隔よりも広がっている環状に形成されている。なお、ここでは、環状とは、或る領域を囲むような形状であり、入り込み線路部位7は円形状に限定されない。
 端子線路10~13は、線路3~6に信号を入力する、あるいは、線路3~6から信号を出力する線路(線路3~6に流れる信号が入出力する線路)である。各端子線路10~13は、線路3~6の各接続部15~18に、一対一の関係をもって接続されている。
 図1Bは、ラットレース回路1において、接続部15(16~18)を含む部分的な領域を拡大して表すモデル図である。各接続部15~18において、端子線路10(11~13)から当該端子線路10に接続する2本の線路3,4にそれぞれ向かう伸長方向α、βは、端子線路10における線路幅の中心線O10を対称中心線とした線対称である。
 第1実施形態のラットレース回路1は上記のように構成されている。このラットレース回路1は、例えば、図10に表されるΣ/Δ回路103としてアンテナ装置100に組み込むことができる。この場合には、ラットレース回路1を構成する線路3~6,10~13は、基板110の基板面に形成される。また、端子線路10はΣポートとして機能する伝送線路107に接続され、端子線路12はΔポートとして機能する伝送線路108に接続される。さらに、端子線路11,13は、それぞれ、伝送線路106,105に接続される。なお、放射素子111,112は、基板110の基板面に形成されている場合もあるし、基板110においてΣ/Δ回路103の形成面(形成層)とは異なる層に形成されている場合もある。つまり、基板110における放射素子111,112が形成される層は限定されない。
 このようにアンテナ装置100に組み込まれたラットレース回路1において、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号は端子線路13を通って入力し、第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号は端子線路11を通って入力する。ここでは、第1アレーアンテナ101から端子線路13に入力する受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102から端子線路11に入力する受信信号との位相は同相とする。この場合には、ラットレース回路1は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号とを同相でもって合成した信号を端子線路10を通して出力する。また、ラットレース回路1は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号とを逆相でもって合成した信号を端子線路12を通して出力する。
 この第1実施形態のラットレース回路1およびそれを備えたアンテナ装置100は上記のような構成を備えることによって、次のような効果を得ることができる。すなわち、図13に表されるラットレース回路では、リング状線路119の形成領域(つまり、リング状線路119により囲まれている領域)の面積(以下、入り込み無し形状の面積とも記す)は、9×λ2÷(16×π)≒0.179×λ2と表すことができる。
 これに対し、第1実施形態のラットレース回路1では、線路3~6の形成領域(つまり、線路3~5と線路6の一部とを辺として持つ四角形状の領域)の面積(以下、入り込み有り形状の面積とも記す)は、λ2÷16≒0.0625×λ2と表すことができる。この入り込み有り形状の面積は、図13に表される入り込み無し形状の面積の3分の1程度となっている。
 すなわち、第1実施形態のラットレース回路1は、図13に表されるラットレース回路よりも小型化が可能である。また、ラットレース回路1は、小型化できるので、アンテナ装置100の基板110の大型化(基板面が拡大する方向の大型化)を回避しつつ、放射素子111,112とオーバーラップすることなく基板110に形成できるという効果を得ることができる。これにより、ラットレース回路1を形成するために基板110の層数を増加しなければならないという問題や、アンテナ装置100の製造工程の煩雑化の問題や、コスト増加の問題が防止される。
 さらに、この第1実施形態のラットレース回路1においては、接続部15~18において、図1Bに表されるように、端子線路10(11~13)に接続している2本の線路3,4の伸長方向α、βは、端子線路10の中心線O10に対して線対称である。このため、例えば、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号が端子線路13からλ/4線路3と3λ/4線路6とに分流する際に、受信信号は、λ/4線路3と3λ/4線路6とにほぼ等分に分流する。第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号に関しても同様であり、当該受信信号は、λ/4線路4と3λ/4線路6とにほぼ等分に分流する。これにより、端子線路10,12において合成される第1と第2のアレーアンテナ101,102の信号量のバランスが良くなる。これにより、ラットレース回路1は、精度の良い信号の合成結果を出力できる。つまり、合成される信号量のバランスが悪い場合には、本来なら相殺されることによって信号レベルがゼロとなるはずのところが相殺されずにゼロからずれたレベルの信号が出力されるという事態が発生する。このような事態は、アンテナ装置100の性能の悪化を招く。これに対し、ラットレース回路1は、合成される信号量のバランスが良いので、そのような事態を回避できる。すなわち、ラットレース回路1は、アンテナ装置100の性能向上を図ることができる。
 よって、第1実施形態のラットレース回路1は、アンテナ装置100の製造工程の煩雑化およびコスト増加を防止しつつ、アンテナ装置100の小型化および薄型化に対応でき、さらに、アンテナ装置100の性能の向上に寄与できる。
 (第2実施形態)
 以下に、本発明に係る第2実施形態を説明する。なお、第2実施形態の説明において、第1実施形態と同一の名称部分には同一符号を付し、その共通部分の重複説明は省略する。
 図2Aは、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1をアンテナ装置の放射素子と共に表すモデル図である。この第2実施形態のラットレース回路1は、第1実施形態と同様に、3本のλ/4線路3~5と、3λ/4線路6と、4本の端子線路10~13とを有している。また、3λ/4線路6は、入り込み線路部位7を有している。この入り込み線路部位7は、第1実施形態では円形の環状であるのに対して、第2実施形態では四角形の環状となっている。
 この第2実施形態のラットレース回路1は、例えば、図10に表されるアンテナ装置100にΣ/Δ回路103として組み込まれている。すなわち、ラットレース回路1を構成する各線路3~6,10~13は、アンテナ装置100の放射素子111,112と共通の基板110の同じ基板面に形成されている。つまり、閉ループを構成する線路3~6は、マトリックス状に配置された4つの放射素子111,112間の間隙に形成されている。端子線路10~13は、2つの放射素子間の間隙に、直線状の態様で形成されている。ここでは、放射素子111,112はマイクロストリップ線路の態様を備えている。ラットレース回路1の各線路3~6,10~13も、放射素子111,112と同様に、マイクロストリップ線路の態様を備えている。
 また、ラットレース回路1における端子線路13は、第1アレーアンテナ101の伝送線路105に、また、端子線路11は、第2アレーアンテナ102の伝送線路106に、それぞれ接続されている。ここでは、第1実施形態と同様に、第1アレーアンテナ101(伝送線路105)から端子線路13に入力する受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102(伝送線路106)から端子線路11に入力する受信信号との位相は同相とする。これにより、端子線路10から出力する信号は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号とが同相でもって合成された信号となる。このことから、端子線路10は伝送線路(Σポート)107に接続される。また、端子線路12から出力する信号は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号とが逆相でもって合成された信号となる。このことから、端子線路12は伝送線路(Δポート)108に接続されている。
 この第2実施形態では、接続部15~18に関し、隣り合う接続部間の間隔は等間隔又は略等間隔である。また、図2Bに表されるように、互いに向かい合う接続部15,17を結ぶ直線Laと、接続部16,18を結ぶ直線Lbとは、直交する関係となっている。
 この第2実施形態のラットレース回路1における上記以外の構成は、第1実施形態と同様であり、その重複説明は省略する。
 この第2実施形態のラットレース回路1は、第1実施形態と同様に、3λ/4線路6が入り込み線路部位7を有し、当該入り込み線路部位7は閉ループ8により囲まれた領域の内側に入り込む態様を備えている。このため、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1は、第1実施形態と同様に、当該回路1の形成領域(占有面積)を縮小できる。これにより、当該ラットレース回路1は、当該回路1が組み込まれるアンテナ装置100の製造工程の煩雑化およびコスト増加を防止しつつ、アンテナ装置100の小型化および薄型化に対応できる。
 図5および図6には、それぞれ、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1と比較する比較例としてのラットレース回路25,26が表されている。これらラットレース回路25,26は、3λ/4線路6が入り込み線路部位7を持たない態様を有している。
 図5のラットレース回路25では、接続部15~18が、ラットレース回路1の接続部15~18と同様な位置に配置されている。この場合に、放射素子111,112間の間隔が図2に表される放射素子111,112間の間隔と同様であると、3λ/4線路6は、放射素子111の形成領域に入り込む虞がある。つまり、3λ/4線路6と放射素子111が干渉してしまうという問題が発生する虞がある。
 また、図6のラットレース回路26では、線路3~6による閉ループ8が、放射素子111,112に干渉しないように形成されている。また、各λ/4線路3~5がλ/4に対応する電気的な長さを持ち、かつ、3λ/4線路6が3λ/4に対応する電気的な長さを持つことができるように、各接続部15~18の配置位置が設定されている。接続部16~18の配置位置は、ラットレース回路1の各接続部16~18の配置位置からずれている。このため、当該接続部16~18に接続する端子線路11~13は、接続部16~18に向けて迂曲する部位kを有する。この部位kが放射素子111,112に干渉する虞がある。
 図5および図6のラットレース回路25,26において発生する虞のある干渉問題を防止しようとすると、前述したような、アンテナ装置100の小型化や薄型化を妨げる問題や、コスト増加の問題や、製造工程の煩雑化の問題が発生する虞がある。これに対し、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1は、そのような問題を回避できる。
 また、この第2実施形態のラットレース回路1は、接続部15~18において、図1Bに表されるように、端子線路10(11~13)に接続している2本の線路3,4の伸長方向α、βは、端子線路10の中心線O10に対して線対称である。これにより、第1実施形態と同様に、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1もアンテナ装置100の性能の向上に寄与できる。
 本発明者は、その効果を実験により確認している。この実験では、本発明者は、アンテナ装置100に、Σ/Δ回路103として、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1を組み込んだ場合におけるラットレース回路1から伝送線路(Δポート)108への出力信号を測定している。また、本発明者は、比較例として、図5に表される態様のラットレース回路25をアンテナ装置100にΣ/Δ回路103として組み込んだ場合におけるラットレース回路25から伝送線路(Δポート)108への出力信号を測定している。この実験では、ラットレース回路以外の条件は同条件としている。
 図3は、ラットレース回路1を組み込んだ場合における実験結果を表すグラフである。図4は、ラットレース回路25を組み込んだ場合における実験結果を表すグラフである。図3および図4のグラフにおいて、横軸は周波数を表し、縦軸は反射損失を表している。また、実線Rは、端子線路11,13に入力した信号レベル(入力電力)に対する端子線路10から伝送線路(Δポート)108に出力した信号レベル(出力電力)の比に応じた反射損失と、周波数との関係を表している。
 図3に表されているように、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1を利用することにより、アンテナ装置100における通信の周波数帯(ここでは9.4GHz帯)において、ラットレース回路1のΔポートでの反射損失は、-35dB以下という良好な結果を得ている。これに対し、図4に表されるように、ラットレース回路25を利用した場合には、ラットレース回路25のΔポートでの反射損失は、-15dB程度である。このような実験結果の差異は、前述したような接続部16~18における信号の分流の対称性が関与しており、その分流の対称性が良い程、出力信号の特性が向上する。したがって、この実験によっても、第2実施形態のラットレース回路1を利用することによりアンテナ装置100の性能を向上できるという効果が確認できる。
 (その他の実施形態)
 なお、この発明は第1と第2実施形態に限定されずに様々な実施の態様を採り得る。例えば、ラットレース回路1は、図7や図8に表されるような形状であってもよい。これら図7および図8においても、第2実施形態と同様に、接続部15~18の配置位置に関し、互いに向かい合う接続部15,17を結ぶ直線と、接続部16,18を結ぶ直線とは、直交する関係となっている。また、隣り合う接続部間の間隔は、等間隔あるいは略等間隔となっている。さらに、端子線路に接続する2本の線路の対称性に関わる構成も、第2実施形態と同様となっている。
 また、第1や第2の実施形態では、ラットレース回路1を図10に表されるアンテナ装置100に組み込む例が表されている。これに代えて、ラットレース回路1は、図9に表されるようなアンテナ装置130に組み込まれてもよい。アンテナ装置130は、第1アレーアンテナ131と、第2アレーアンテナ132と、第3アレーアンテナ133と、第4アレーアンテナ134と、3つのΣ/Δ回路135~137とを有している。なお、このアンテナ装置130は、例えば、アジマス(Azimuth)方向と仰角(Elevation)方向に追尾が可能なレーダに組み込まれる。
 第1~第4のアレーアンテナ131~134は、アンテナ装置100の第1や第2のアレーアンテナ101,102と同様な構成を備えている。
 Σ/Δ回路135は、第1アレーアンテナ131の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ132の受信信号とを同相で合成した信号を伝送線路138を通してΣ/Δ回路136に向けて出力する機能を備えている。さらに、Σ/Δ回路135は、第1アレーアンテナ131の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ132の受信信号とを逆相で合成した信号を伝送線路142に出力する機能を備えている。
 Σ/Δ回路137は、第3アレーアンテナ133の受信信号と第4アレーアンテナ134の受信信号とを同相で合成した信号を伝送線路139を通してΣ/Δ回路136に向けて出力する機能を備えている。さらに、Σ/Δ回路137は、第3アレーアンテナ133の受信信号と第4アレーアンテナ134の受信信号とを逆相で合成した信号を伝送線路143に向けて出力する機能を備えている。なお、伝送線路142,143を伝送する信号は、伝送線路(Δポート)144において合成され、外部に向けて出力する。
 Σ/Δ回路136は、Σ/Δ回路135,137からの出力信号を同相で合成した信号を伝送線路(Σポート)140に向けて出力する機能を備えている。さらに、Σ/Δ回路136は、Σ/Δ回路135,137からの出力信号を逆相で合成した信号を伝送線路(Δポート)141に向けて出力する機能を備えている。
 このアンテナ装置130では、伝送線路(Δポート)141の信号のレベルが低い場合には、第1~第4のアレーアンテナ131~134は、探知対象(目標物)に対し正面を向いている状態である。一方、伝送線路(Δポート)141の信号のレベルが高い場合には、第1および第2のアレーアンテナ131,132側よりも第3および第4のアレーアンテナ133,134側が探知対象(目標物)から離れている、あるいは、近付いている状態である。換言すれば、この場合には、第1および第2のアレーアンテナ131,132側と第3および第4のアレーアンテナ133,134側とが探知対象(目標物)に対し遠近方向にずれている状態である。
 また、伝送線路(Δポート)144の信号のレベルが低い場合には、第1~第4のアレーアンテナ131~134は、探知対象(目標物)に対し正面を向いている状態である。一方、伝送線路(Δポート)144の信号のレベルが高い場合には、第1および第3のアレーアンテナ131,133側よりも第2および第4のアレーアンテナ132,134側が探知対象(目標物)から離れている、あるいは、近付いている状態である。換言すれば、この場合には、第1および第3のアレーアンテナ131,133側と第2および第4のアレーアンテナ132,134側とが探知対象(目標物)に対し遠近方向にずれている状態である。
 第1と第2の各実施形態のラットレース回路1は、Σ/Δ回路135~137のそれぞれに適用することができる。なお、それらΣ/Δ回路135~137の全てにラットレース回路1が適用されてもよいし、Σ/Δ回路135~137のうちの何れか1つあるいは2つにラットレース回路1が適用されてもよい。ただ、Σ/Δ回路136に接続されている伝送線路(Δポート)144から精度良いレベルの信号が出力されるためには、Σ/Δ回路135,137からそれぞれΣ/Δ回路136に向けて出力される信号のレベルバランスが取れていることが好ましい。このことから、性能向上のためには、Σ/Δ回路135,137は同じ回路構成であることが好ましい。これにより、Σ/Δ回路135(137)としてラットレース回路1を適用する場合には、Σ/Δ回路137(135)にもラットレース回路1が適用されることが好ましい。
 さらに、第1と第2の実施形態では、第1と第2のアレーアンテナ101,102からラットレース回路1の端子線路11,13にそれぞれ入力する受信信号の位相は同相としている。これにより、端子線路10はアンテナ装置100の伝送線路(Σポート)107に接続され、端子線路12はアンテナ装置100の伝送線路(Σポート)108に接続されている。これに対し、端子線路11,13にそれぞれ入力する受信信号の位相が互いに逆相である場合がある。この場合には、ラットレース回路1において、端子線路10から出力する信号は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号とが逆相でもって合成された信号となる。このことから、図11に表されるように、端子線路10は伝送線路(Δポート)108に接続される。また、端子線路12から出力する信号は、第1アレーアンテナ101の受信信号と第2アレーアンテナ102の受信信号とが同相でもって合成された信号となる。このことから、端子線路12は伝送線路(Σポート)107に接続される。つまり、図11の例では、ラットレース回路1は、図2Aに表されている状態から半回転した態様でもってアンテナ装置100に組み込まれる。
 なお、ラットレース回路1は、図11に表される態様ではなく、図12に表される態様でもってアンテナ装置100に組み込まれてもよい。すなわち、図12に表されている態様は、図11に表されているλ/4線路5と3λ/4線路6とが互いに入れ替わっている形態である。この図12の構成においても、端子線路11,13に互いに逆相の信号が入力する場合には、図11と同様に、同相でもって合成された信号が端子線路12から伝送線路(Σポート)107に出力される。また、逆相でもって合成された信号が端子線路10から伝送線路(Δポート)108に出力される。このように、ラットレース回路1は、λ/4線路5と3λ/4線路6とが入れ替わっても同様に機能する。このことから、ラットレース回路1は、端子線路11,13に同相の信号が入力する場合には、図1A、図2A、図7と図8等に表されているλ/4線路5と3λ/4線路6とが入れ替わっている態様でもってアンテナ装置に組み込まれてもよい。
 また、本発明のラットレース回路は、右旋円偏波および左旋円偏波を送受信可能なアンテナ装置や、互いに直交する直線偏波を送受信可能なアンテナ装置を構成するΣ/Δ回路(合成回路)として適用できる。さらに、本発明のラットレース回路は、アンテナ装置以外の装置にも適用可能である。
 以上、上述した実施形態を例にして本願発明を説明したが、本願発明は上記実施形態に限定されるものではない。本願発明の構成や詳細には、本願発明のスコープ内で当業者が理解し得る様々な変更をすることができる。
 なお、この出願は、2013年5月28日に出願された日本出願特願2013-111948を基礎とする優先権を主張し、その開示の全てをここに取り込む。
 本発明は、アレーアンテナを備える様々な装置に適用可能な技術であり、様々な分野に展開することができる。

Claims (7)

  1.  伝送対象の信号における波長λの4分の1に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによるλ/4線路と、
     前記波長λの4分の3に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによる3λ/4線路とを有し、
     3本の前記λ/4線路と、前記3λ/4線路とは、一連に接続されることによって、閉ループを形成し、前記3λ/4線路は、その閉ループによって囲まれた領域の内側に向けて入り込む線路部位を有し、当該線路部位は、入り込み入側が開口し、かつ、入り込み奥側が前記開口間隔よりも広がっている領域の縁部に沿うような環状に形成されており、
     前記閉ループを形成している前記線路間の各接続部には、前記信号が入出力する端子線路がさらに接続されており、各接続部において、前記端子線路から当該端子線路に接続する前記λ/4線路あるいは前記3λ/4線路である2本の線路にそれぞれ向かう線路の伸長方向は、前記端子線路における線路幅の中心線を対称中心線とした線対称である構成を有しているラットレース回路。
  2.  隣り合う前記接続部間の間隔は等間隔又は略等間隔である請求項1記載のラットレース回路。
  3.  前記4つの接続部は、互いに向かい合う2つの接続部間を結ぶ2つの直線が直交するように、配置されている請求項1又は請求項2記載のラットレース回路。
  4.  前記λ/4線路と前記3λ/4線路は、マイクロストリップ線路である請求項1又は請求項2又は請求項3記載のラットレース回路。
  5.  共通の基板に形成され信号を送受信する導体パターンによる複数の放射素子と、
     前記放射素子による受信信号を合成する回路とを有し、
     前記回路は、請求項1乃至請求項4の何れか一つに記載のラットレース回路であるアンテナ装置。
  6.  前記複数の放射素子は配列配置されており、前記ラットレース回路が前記基板における前記放射素子と同じ基板面あるいは同じ層に形成される場合には、前記ラットレース回路は前記放射素子の形成領域間に形成され、前記ラットレース回路が前記基板における前記放射素子とは異なる層に形成される場合には、前記ラットレース回路は前記基板の層の積層方向に前記放射素子の形成領域とオーバーラップしない領域に形成される請求項5記載のアンテナ装置。
  7.  伝送対象の信号における波長λの4分の1に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによる3本のλ/4線路と、前記波長λの4分の3に対応する電気的な長さを持つ導体パターンによる3λ/4線路とは、一連に接続されることによって、閉ループを形成し、
     前記3λ/4線路は、その閉ループによって囲まれた領域の内側に向けて入り込む線路部位を有し、当該線路部位は、入り込み入側が開口し、かつ、入り込み奥側が前記開口間隔よりも広がっている領域の縁部に沿うような環状に形成されており、
     前記閉ループを形成している前記線路間の各接続部において、前記信号が入出力する端子線路をさらに接続し、当該端子線路から当該端子線路に接続する前記λ/4線路あるいは前記3λ/4線路である2本の線路にそれぞれ向かう線路の伸長方向は、前記端子線路における線路幅の中心線を対称中心線とした線対称であるラットレース回路の形成方法。
