Abstract

The invention relates to a probe tube adapter for non-invasive mechanical ventilation, used in respiratory therapy and consisting of an elbow-shaped or L-shaped element comprising a body of two halves in a plastic material, which, when closed along a common edge, form an adapter element for one or two probe tubes, which is fitted to a mask or interface on a patient, preventing leakages during the treatment.

Description

PATENTE DE INVENCIÓN  PATENT OF INVENTION
ADAPTADOR DE SONDAS PARA VENTILACION MECANICA NO PROBE ADAPTER FOR MECHANICAL VENTILATION NO
INVASIVA INVASIVE
CAMPO DE LA INVENCION: FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention is located in the field of medical devices and comprises an L-shaped adapter, elbow type for patients assisted by non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
Non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NIMV) is a ventilatory tool used in adult and pediatric patients with respiratory distress or at risk of acquiring it and is based on a supply of air and oxygen under pressure, by means of a mechanical fan and an interface or mask .
ANTECEDENTES Y ESTADO DE LA TECNICA BACKGROUND AND STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE
NIMV is a technique that has demonstrated the effectiveness of the application of positive airway pressure through interfaces in the management of patients with acute or chronic respiratory failure, reducing the need for tracheal intubation and its possible complications. These patients sometimes have nasogastric and / or nasoyejunal use probes for the management of nutritional requirements, medication application and gastric control, among others.
Among the complications that occur during VMNI therapy are leaks, sometimes due to the presence of probes between the interface and the patient's face, causing inefficient ventilation, discomfort and asynchrony between the patient and the ventilator.
With a view to presenting a solution to this situation, an adapter device made of plastic material has been designed whose objective is its application is to reduce the leaks that occur during VMNI therapy caused by the use of probes.
i DESCRIPCION TECNICA DEL MODELO DE ADAPTADOR i TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ADAPTER MODEL
To understand the scope of the device to be protected, the figures are accompanied:
Figure 1 is a detail of the conformation of the adapter with one or two perforations and Figure 1 A is the adapter in its external view.
La figura 2 presenta vistas del adaptador ensamblado en vista de perfil y plano posterior para su aplicación, y  Figure 2 shows views of the assembled adapter in profile and backplane view for its application, and
Figure 3 is an application of the adapter to an interface in a patient.
In accordance with the above, in Figures 1, 1A and 2, the adapter model comprises a body consisting of two equal halves (1) and (2) joined by a common edge (3) that, when closed, form a shaped element. elbow or L and in whose bottom one or two perforations (4) can be formed according to the number and size of the probes that pass through it.
The proximal end (5) of the adapter is coupled to the interface or mask (figure 3), the intermediate end (6) to the fan circuit serving the distal end (7) to the probes.
For the implementation of the adapter, one or two probes must be passed through the interface hole, according to the patient's position, placing them on the middle of the adapter and then being embraced by the second half and finally coupling to the interface and the fan circuit.
The adapter described and illustrated in the figures is a novelty in the area of non-invasive mechanical ventilation without any known history of its application in the form of an elbow or L.
