Abstract

The invention relates to a rotor (1) for an electromechanical machine (62), which rotor is designed to rotate about an axis (5) in relation to a stator (60), comprising a rotor frame (2) and permanent magnets (4), wherein the permanent magnets (4) are inserted into pockets arranged in an azimuthal direction in the rotor frame (2), wherein the permanent magnets (4) are magnetised in the azimuthal direction, and wherein each pair of adjacent permanent magnets (4) face each other with the same pole. According to the invention, the permanent magnets (4) protrude (6) beyond the rotor frame in an axial direction and/or a number of permanent magnets (4) each has a cross-section orthogonal to the axis (5) that is trapezoidal at least in some segments in deviation from a rectangular form. The invention further relates to an electromechanical machine (62), which comprises a stator (60) and such a rotor (1).
